Jack, armed only with his camera and a lingering sense of triumph (see this s**t wasn't crazy after all), kept his mouth shut and his ears wide open. The last thing he thought himself capable of was harming something supernatural--unless said creature happened to have a thing about souls being taken away through photos or something.
Man, this week's edition of the school newspaper was going to be ******** interesting.
"I suggest one of the bathrooms," he spoke up finally, seeing as the detective beat him to the punch about staying on the floor. "Clear the stalls first."

Lucas frowned a little, not exactly liking the idea of leaving the second floor unchecked. Before he could voice his opinion, there was a multi-colored haired teen throwing his arms around him, putting a bit of a softer look on the wolf's face. He hugged Zac back tightly, relieved the other was okay, but -- but not happy he was there. "Hey, you okay?" he murmured to him softly, looking him over for any signs of distress. Keeping an arm around him, he took in a breath -- -- and looked over to the Detective that took the words right out of his mouth. " I'm with the Detective," he said simply. "If there's injured people on the first floor, I'm not leaving this one until I know it's secure." End of story.

Chel didn't like how many people had gathered around. Rather than feel comforted by the presence of so many people like she normally did, she actually felt more like a big moving target. A cluster of people was a perfect bait for some creepy claw man to come and slash them all down.
"I wanna leave," she told Lily and Jack in confidentiality. "I ... let's just bounce man." Chel started backing up a little bit. The police were already here on the case. She wasn't needed.amitotic she doesnt know about the police cordon

It could not be denied that there had previously been some dubious trust on Melina's behalf, when regarding Ms. Lupin. Yet when it came to something that involved screams, blood, and ravages unknown? She trusted her enough to follow and remembered, only belatedly, that clinging to a near-stranger was not the best idea. What was a fantastic idea, however, was clinging to the very familiar Zachary Bantock and something she did without hesitation. "Zac!" She didn't offer an opinion, content to go wherever the group did, and hadn't even noticed the odd others making up their group assemblage. Rushing to his side she wrapped both of her arms around one of his, most of her sniffles drying up with the safe haven that was someone she knew and trusted. Whether it was a conscious thought or not, Lina's brain reached out towards her warg, unsure of what to find. HP: 20/20

Shun eyed the other older man briefly. Friendly fire was definitely a possibility, especially if people decided to rush ahead for who knows why.
Once he reached the top of the steps, he paused to look over everyone else. Spotting several individuals with claws, animalistic ears, tails and feet, he narrowed his eyes and regarded the lot warily.
"What the ********> he murmured, watching them. They seemed to be nonhostile, and the others that came up with them appeared to be relatively relaxed, but he did not fully trust them. He didn't know what was going on with them, but those claws looked awefully like the ones he saw on the suspect earlier.
His gaze fell onto Autumn as she gave her piece about what to do with the suspect.
"We will try to subdue him first," he said lowly. He was not about to go on a witch hunt, but he was prepared to take lethal actions if their target refused to stand down. Sometimes the hard choices had to be made.
He added no extra input on where to go, but he remained standing by Mercer, silently agreeing with him.

Cerby, close at Lara's heels, lets out a series of loud barks at something winding its way sinuously through the stacks. It's not an anger response, though; Cerby's ears are pricked forward and his tail is going so wild his butt is literally shaking. Lara looks down at him, and then up, and says: "What's a cat doing here?" It is a ******** enormously fluffy Norwegian Forest Cat, and it has made its way over to wind between Falco's ankles lovingly. It stops to give Cerby a gentle headbutt, and then settles down by Falco's feet and purrs. Around its neck is a black leather collar with a tiny nametag: Hot Lips. Falco. You've found your soulmate.

The trip up to the floor was uneventful enough and he was glad to see Autumn was around. Chris was usually content to listen and go with the crowd but today he wanted to make sure he was heard.
"I agree we secure this floor, and check the bathrooms, Chris spoke, looking around. "They're a common and easy access place to hide, and probably the first place someone freaking out would go. Also, wouldn't he want to wash the blood off him?"

The mention of Other Ashdown had her biting her lip, along with the rest of the things like furry people, and attackers that may not look human. It was, to say the least, a thing to give her pause. That when magical s**t came up, the traditional authorities might be...
Not in charge, at least not how they normally were. Not the voice that speaks first or first turned to. It was unsettling. And it was a relief when others decided to follow the detective's suggestion.
America nodded in agreement with Jeremiah and the others, a small tension releasing. Confirming what Falco said, she echoed, "Yeah, they made a big ******** ruckus up here. It tried to get into our room, last on on the right side." She pointed and then motioned toward the broken railing. "And they're strong. I don't know what other rooms it mighta got into."
The girl's eyes widened at the mass of fluff. This wasn't fair! This was serious business and it was ********' hard to function around something THAT cute.

(Sorry guys, I fell asleep last night ;___ wink Thorne didn't know what constituted right or wrong decisions in supernatural events like these, but damn if he wasn't following Autumn up that staircase to hunt down whatever the ******** had just hurt his florist and terrified his tiny child. His expression was brutal and chilly as he made his way after the rest of the group, paying attention without speaking - a strange departure from his normal attitude. He had noticed Maeve on the first floor, and the woman had bled all over him in a loving embrace. The two of them now looked like matching gore twins, marching their way up the stairs together in stony silence for different reasons. But Thorne knew better than to tell her to stay down. He'd had his a** kicked by her enough times to know what she was capable of. The group ahead of him was beginning to deliberate, new faces appearing at every turn. Thorne swallowed down most of his surprise and shock at what he saw and listened to Jeremiah - the ******** voice of reason, if ever there was one. " I think the detective is right," Thorne added, patting Autumn gently on the back as he passed her, "We should make sure that everything that can and will take us out is incapacitated. And fast, if the first floor is anything to go by." His eyes roved the crowd, searching, wondering, and then - Oh s**t.If Lucas hadn't been tied up as ******** in other people, Thorne would have gone closer. He probably would have latched himself on the mans front and refused to let go until something pried him away or tried to hurt his - Lucas. Red eyes and all. Lucas. Red eyes, pointy ears Lucas. "You could bite those," Maeve said approvingly beside him, and Thorne wanted to punch her because now was not the time. Shitshitshitshit - THE GROUP sorry i'm late to the party! ;___;

Algie stepped out from behind Jeremiah with heavenly music and beams of light behind him just for America to assess the group. It was the first he was really seeing those with them who were were's- people he'd heard about through his spouse but not actually met. It was a bit jarring. "If whoever it is is upstairs.." He pointed up, "They aren't going anywhere. Perhaps some of you," he looked at those who were clearly sporting tails and claws, "can shine some light on bringing this person under control?" The author pushed his glasses up, " Jeremiah is right. Clear this floor, perhaps take this hall first, then the other side-" Perhaps someone could post watch on the stairs to make sure nothing came down, "-then we go up. The bathrooms are as good a place as any to start." "Yes please-" Algie sighed in response to Shun, "No shooting first and asking questions later unless you are outright attacked." and everyone else of course noncommital room searching

At the sight of Algernon Mixlin, in person, like he just stepped off the back of one of his books, America froze, eyes wide and jaw dropping. It took a moment, but coming back to herself and the situation at hand, the girl still couldn't help the brilliant blush that covered her cheeks.
This was really, really not fair.

It was decidedly awkward as more people filed in, concerned for Lily or Lucas's safety. Jamie did his best to smile up at Lucas, but it looked more like a grimace than anything. The touch had been legitimately comforting, but Jamie felt out of place among this crowd—and not just because he was sporting fancy new snowshoe accessories. He didn't have many friends, but he supposed that was his own fault for being so pitiful at social situations.
"I-I'm okay," he muttered up at Lucas. "Um... sorry..." And he took a step back, a very careful step back, not wanting to trip over his own feet again and look like a fool. It felt like the thing to do, though, to give him more room to speak with others. "I'll go wherever you go, Lucas... I don't wanna get in the way."-- Jamie DelaxroixHP: 20/20

"He's probably right... if there's already injured people downstairs... and we chase that thing downstairs by accident..." Falco guiltily changed his mind, blinking as America blushed furiously. He wasn't enough of a reader to have gotten to those books yet, and even then rarely looked at dust jackets. Besides there were -literally people with red eyes and fur and...
And Cerby loosing it over a Cat. Which seemed like... well... stereotypical dog behavior, until Hot Lips started twining around his ankles. For a second he thought they were going to get a different kind of chase, which would have been bizzare because he was pretty sure the two animals were of similar scale... but...
"Uh, Hi Kitty..." He blinked, kneeling down to pet the cat's head. "...You are awfully damn calm to be in the middle of all this..."
Holy s**t...was that his... I mean nah. It was... it was someone's pet cat, right? "Are you looking for me? I mean if you are we're gonna have to have a little talk because we're pretty sure there's a couple birds in the group that are off limits for your dining purposes..." But then it seemed to get along with Cerb fine... maybe the birds were already off the menu.
"If this thing is thinking enough to want to wash off than I am kind of extra worried about what it did downstairs, but bathrooms are as good a place to start as any I guess."
What WAS worse? That poor b*****d knowing that they hurt people and doing it anyway, or having no idea? Or some kind of terrible middle ground... How did they even...
He was so... SO MUCH more ok with being a Warg right now, compared to the apparent alternative.

The werewolf flicked his eyes towards Chris, his scowl dark. "He's a were in the throes of pain you can't imagine. His hygiene is not at the top of his priority list right now." Lucas exhaled sharply. He was not happy this had to be a group decision before they could do anything, and that conjecture was happening at all. The idle remarks made by Algie and Shun were not helping, though he did not deign to respond to either of them.
Before any more sharp remarks could be made, he heard a familiar voice, eyes snapping towards -- Thorne. Who was covered in blood --
-- blood that isn't his. Memories of a bygone life flashed in his head again. He'd probably know the smell and taste if it was --
Shaking that off -- especially given that he had sharp teeth and claws just then - he squeezed Zac and let the teen go to instead wrap his arm around Jamie. He desperately wanted to go to to his bloodied boyfriend but he knew Thorne was more capable than most. He had to watch out for his Pack against these...vultures. "You're not in the way, Buttercup. We need you. There's some people here who have been to that other place before, but...they aren't Pack. And what we're after -- is, even if it's a broken thing of fear and pain. We will do this together."

“…I’ve been better…” Zac admitted. “It… this is stuff that’s supposed to happen –there- not here!” He said to Lucas, it really shouldn’t be happening here, that woman’s throat… and so much blood, so many people hurt. “…Did anything I gave you help?” He asked hopelessly. Some need perhaps for validation. “LINA!” He said surprised…and then turning all kinds of red as she clung to him like somehow HE was a lifeline. God he’d have to warn her he was a walking invitation to injury. “Lina I’m…are you okay? You weren’t hurt were you? Autumn here can help you and, and it’s going to be all right, we’ll figure this out. I don’t know if you met yet but this is …um Lucas, He’s not, always so pointy but I trust him, and that’s Lily, same story um… Oh god… I wish I could …” He waved a hand feeling useless.
