Chel might not have been interested in a career as a park ranger, but Max couldn't help looking over from his spot near the APD's table as Finn gave his rather convincing spiel. He hadn't volunteered to help man the police booth (because who really wanted the lowdown on probation officers), but he had somehow gravitated this way anyway. Sad, really.
He took a brochure too, offering Sergeant Kuroda a nod of acknowledgment as he began to read.Quote: just planting a max here hello

Shun cast a glance to the side as he heard the ranger in the neighboring booth throw his recruitment pitch at Chel. And quite frankly, he hoped that would have worked, but he knew that it would take more to shake the girl off of his back. And sure enough, it didn't really draw her attention. The Detective had no idea if she was even all that interested in getting a job in the first place... assuming she was unemployed. He had no idea. And he didn't really care to know for the most part either. "He has a point, though," he commented, "Besides, I doubt you would last long on the force. You could go check on the trees all day instead."Nevermind that there wasn't really quite as much danger in Ashdown than where he had come from. "I see no case of poaching here," he stated, glancing at Finn once again.

At first, Rose didn't realize that she was the one spoken to. Once Dawson spoke again, she looked to him with upturned brows and a timid, nervous smile. "O-oh," she stammered, lowering her arms to clasp at her lap. "Thank you..."
Hardly meeting Dawson's eyes, Rose took a step or two closer to him. She offered her hand in a weak shake. "I'm Rosemary-- You work here...?"

Jeremiah just let out a huff of breath at Preacher's apparent approval of his choice in partners. Not that she would have even been aware of the fact that it was something of a long time thing within Ashdown that they had already been together. Except they hadn't. Not until now. "There's plenty of businesses around here. Just remember that you're not going to want to take anything long term because if you get moved over to dispatch that's going to be full time." His lips twitched again at the mention of the booth, eyes going to both Sergeant Kuroda and Chel. Finn clearly looked like he was pitching the Forest Rangers. "The new sergeant is watching it for a bit along with some of the other officers." Lips were pressed to a thin line briefly. "I didn't pick them." Worst to hear his own thoughts echoed by a young woman. Chris got a wave from Jeremiah from where he was and a short nod (because obviously he would be over that way shortly as that was where Algie was).

Algie wasn't far, he'd seen Preacher gesticulating as he turned but really it wasn't exactly a revelation at this point that everyone in town had something to say about their relationship. Alg greeted Chris with a proper handshake, as was polite of course, and glanced over at the aforementioned booth where Zac currently was working. "Let's say I'm supervising.. from a healthy distance." He chuckled to the younger man. "I haven't seen you in there by the way.. " Don't you read Chris?! peanutbutterpies u havent come to the store >O

Wil just sort of rubberized when the ball hit him and now as Nasir attemped to get him upright he was smiling and making a concerted effort to put his legs back under him and stand. "I'm good. Promise.. just surprised me.." Maybe he was a little high. MAYBE. It was always a possibility. He may have also smelled faintly aromatic. Temperance was given a grin when he was finally standing again, as well as a bobbling nod of acknowledgment. "Nice throw though."

Chris could only but give Jer a wave back, spotting the distance but staying close to Algie. He'd come over soon enough anyways, Chris knew.
He followed Algie's gaze to the booth, spotting Zac, and considered a wave but figured he wouldn't be spotted. His height didn't help all the time.
"Zac does seem to have it covered," He laughed with, although it died quickly. "..Would you believe me if I said I've been busy?" He fussed with his sleeves for a minute, then looked up. "I would like to come by though, maybe this weekend? I do need more to read."
iloveyouDIE in his defense he did stay awake for like 2 days in a row and still feels guilty bc algie was SO RIGHT

She had been hopeful when she heard about the job fair. There was a chance she may find a better job than she had now that could possibly help support her enough that she could pursue other activities. So, Juniper was meticulously moving through the booths scoping out what businesses were there and what they were hiring for. She had dressed with the expectation to meet hiring coordinators but kept a taste of her usual hippie flare with a long, fun patterned light duster over a solid white top, a nice pair of slacks that had a denim look to them, and a basic pair of flats. It worked for her even if maybe wasn't the most professional attire in the world. She wanted people to get a taste for her personality though just by looking at her.
So, with intent, Juniper made her way around the booths. Stopping periodically when something caught her interest. Unfortunately she was beginning to realize there were many part-time and summer jobs available and not so many full-time professional ones.
"What a bother." She sighed as she stood off to the side out of the main foot traffic area as she contemplated what to do. If all the booths were like this she probably wasn't going to find anything here except maybe another part-time job and that wasn't really going to help her situation.Anyone who wants to approach her! Very fast post before I run out the door to work!

Zac waved back, somewhat distracted it seemed by the young woman who was...wearing a crown and looking rather huffy in front of the booth. He also spotted Autumn, it didn't hurt that she was with Thorne, though it was... odd to see the people from the house together again. He gave a small smile and waved at them too though he might very well hear an earful from Kitty for it. He thought it was worth the risk if they might come over. ... That was a -lot- of chocolate they had too...

Algie's brow's lifted a moment and chuckled good naturedly, "Well I would believe you had been busy if you didn't seem to be so suddenly unconvincing." His glance did find Autumn on Thorne's back and chocolate- you know what- none of his business. "Come by on Saturday. I'm not working but I've got a knack for finding special things in the shop. I'll make tea and we can talk." Because all the sleeve picking made him think Chris possibly needed a chat. "How's school?" Either school. Both schools. Especially with everything going on.

Free food was exactly the reason Shiloh was here.
Job hunting? Yeah he was... he was doing that because he really was interested in a part time position during school. It was just demoralizing and exhausting. Point was, he didn't wander over here because of work; it was the fine print underneath that advertised the free refreshments. Hey, he didn't care how shameless it was. ******** off.
Text hey u up jame meet me @ rider college 4 an asskicking Heh. Send.
Okay wait— free food, right right. Shiloh was so there. He had the added benefit of looking like the target age group, so no one was gonna notice him or think he was out of place. Hopefully he wouldn't notice anyone familiar either, because that would be awkward. He had a snack bar with his name on it goddammit.
Now, he just had to find it, except— God there were a lot of people in here. God he felt suddenly crowded. Okay s**t mission abort time to flee towards the wall.
Text nvm thers lots of ppl here u there????? orrrrrrr r u sleeping? i mean i guess thts good if u r... 🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢 s**t he should probably leave Jamie alone when he wasn't replying (because usually he replied like, a little too fast like, immediately), but looking at his phone made him look busy anyway—nothing to see here, nothing weird, just Shiloh. ANYONE WHO WANTS TO PROD THIS TRASH SON

Her stall was small and simple, a folding plastic table with a nice cotton table cover. There were little baskets with individually wrapped treats: muffins, cookies, dulce leche, wedding cookies, puff patries, turn overs, and some bagels (plain or jalapeno cheese). Her cash box was to the side. The only thing miffing Rosie at the moment was the fact her banner was starting to fall down, again. She wasn't about to ask for help, but it was clear she did need some. Pretty badly too. Even when she hopped, making the keys in her pocket jingle merrily, there was still an inch or two to get the top of bar. Rosie was cursing softly below her breath. Quote: Rosie needs help if you wanna interact or get some free snacks

[Near the Sweet Spot Booth]
Cataleen hesitantly hovered around the booths, eyeing them with a mixture of dread and interest. She really did need to find some kind of job. She couldn't stay cooped up in her house forever, as much as she might want to. She felt she was getting too much into the habit of not going out, and worried she might lose all her nerve if she indulged her wish to hide from society. The job fair seemed safer than just cold-calling businesses to see who was hiring. She could get a sense for each job and the people running the booth, who she assumed worked at the respective jobs. She finally approached the booth for the Sweet Spot. Those samples looked really tasty, after all, and working for a confectioner's store sounded like something Cataleen could do!

Zac's distracted wave made Chris smile, but he let him be. They could talk later - even if they hadn't talked much before he still liked the kid.
"It was less.. busy and more. Self destruction." That was an awkward confession but he trusted Algie and Jer already knew anyways.
"Tea and a talk, that sounds good. I look forward to it." His hand moved from his sleeve there, rubbing his wrist awkwardly before he dropped it altogether.
"School is fine, I actually-" He paused there, his gaze sweeping over the crowd to find someone familiar standing and looking very awkward. "Uh, speaking of school, hold on for a moment. I need to get someone."
He pushed through the crowd to the student, placing his hand on his shoulder as he approached. "Shiloh? You okay?"

Algie's phone would ping briefly because Jeremiah still was talking with Preacher but he had a texting problem sometimes. Quote: text to: gorgeous make sure he hasn't been pulling three day stints of no sleep. *again* Nasir smiled at Temperance and gave her a wave with his free arm once Wil was up and standing again. His arm did end up lingering wrapped around the blonde's waist, keeping a good grip on him."Yes, it's Nasir. Temperance, right? I think we've run into each other before." Darlene's or Rider-Waite ... He knew a lot of people. "He's right, it was a solid throw." There was that reassuring Nasir smile. PeanutButterpies that's fine, jeremiah's still ratted you out to your other father.
