General XenotimeWhatever Leucite was saying, whatever he wanted, Xenotime didn't have the attention to spare for it. Not as she picked up on the look on the general-queens lovely face. It was a familiar look, one the fighter was certain had crossed her own features countless times, and it was this that had the small woman going rigid, fingers tightening into a painful twist into Typhon's dark hair. Apprehension making her pulse speed. Preemptively, and probably wisely so, she found herself reaching back over her shoulder, hand landing softly against the corrupt's cheek, before her palm slid down to press against his mouth. She knew him too well to chance him running his mouth in that moment. Valid points or not, if this general-queen was in the habit of yanking starseeds, Xenotime was not willing to risk her agents to that level of threat. She was far too protective of them. Using his hair to draw him down closer to her shoulder, she turned her head to murmur against the side of his head. "Say nothing." An order to behave himself, but for once it wasn't one born from anger or irritation.

Super Sailor Typhon"What a cu---," his muttered voice was cutoff and made completely inaudible under the sudden grasp of his General's hand around his mouth. She knew him all too well.

Lieutenant HuntiteThe look in the General Queen's eyes had been unnerving but Huntite didn't let that show and stood his ground. When she addressed him his eyes narrowed a tiny bit but it was mostly in remembering the two times he had taken starseeds in the past more then anything else. "Yes ma'am, twice and one of them was an invading Senshi." He said though with the way she was looking at Stibnite and Violane he would bet she wasn't expecting an answer out of him right now. As Hessonite started to talk about how they had to be willing to deal with traitors no matter what their emotional attachment may be the Lieutenant eyed her then the other two Lieutenants, wondering just where she was going with this demonstration. He didn't have to wonder long though as Hessonite's hand lashed out to take Violane's starseed as quick as a snake and she was ordering him to do the same to Stibnite. The only hesitation he showed was a split second look between Hessonite, Leucite, and finally Stibnite before he did as ordered. He did however, try to take it as fast and painless as possible and when he was holding her starseed in his hands he held it like fragile glass.

General Leucite
It was all well and good the Xenotime stopped paying attention to Leucite because he too completely forgot what he had just suggested when the General Queen began her demonstration. Leucite's eyes flashed searingly hot for a moment, as his body tensed and he had to fight with his internal desire to storm Hessonite's display, the heat was quickly replaced however, with a chill.
His eyes moved to Stibnite, he did not hold anything against Huntite, and he hoped that Stibnite understood that he had faith that she would make it through this. He did not nod, or anything like that, he simply watched. He could not act, because he knew that acting would cost them the lives of not just one... but two Lieutenants. Lieutenants who were the life blood of the Negaverse.
One thing thought, was entirely certain. If Hessonite was looking to cement her position of power through rule of fear, she had most definitely succeeded.

Captain Titanlåvenite
Just the removal of a starseed, without enough finesse, was enough to kill a person, whether the thing was returned to their body or not. Whether the seed was broken or not afterwards. Lieutenants, as a rule, did not have a great finesse in the manipulation of the chaos energy at their disposal. They had enough to perform the act, but it was not a guarantee ever of enough to be more than a weapon against known enemies. Something where killing them didn't matter.
She asked a Lieutenant to take the starseed of another without knowing any level of control. For a demonstration. She did it. She would leave a sword bloodied and put it in the sheath to rot. She is no leader. She is nothing to be respected.
Titan's back and shoulders were straight and squared, watching this display. Two bright starseeds throwing desperate light in the dim. Titanlåvenite, known for old fashioned manners, looked straight at this General Queen. He took one step forward and spit on to the floor.
It was as much of a tendered resignation from the Special Operations as seemed fitting to give. He turned and headed out from the meeting.

Lt. Stibnite
Stibnite was no stranger to starseeds. She had met her General when he had been pulling one. How many lives had she herself claimed? From drug dealers to people riding the subway. But one thing about them was different...none of them had been agents. That, Stibnite admitted to herself, might have been a good thing.
However, when the order was given to Huntite, Stibnite shot him a warning glare. If he did not do this promptly she would take his even faster.
The darkness that came over her gave the teal haired woman her answer and she sank into nothing as her body dropped to the floor.

Lieutenant Natrolite
s**t got real and way to fast for the lieutenants liking. There was a moment of hesitation in eyes but as they landed on a firmly planted Xe he reeled himself in. Starseed grabbing was a big deal, one that lieutenants had been advised against. At least that he recalled but then again he hadn't really listened in the past to most things.
Arms tightened in their fold over his chest and he remained steadily watching the GQ and the others in the little demonstration. Titanlåvenite stepped forward, the noise of which catching the dark headed lieutenants attention and the actions holding them. Had he really just spit at her? Nice, the agent had balls. Though maybe to big of ones since while Natrolite wasn't sure, he was nearly banking that might be a death wish, not that it mattered since he wasn't the one making it.
But still cooler than hell.

Captain MoonstoneShe watched in growing horror and disbelief at Hessonite's careless treatment of the lieutenants - she was asking them to pull a star seed, which yes, that was a big part of what officers of the Negaverse were supposed to do, however....it was not something to inflict on another officer without permission or knowing said office was committing treason.
At her side, Titanlåvenite tensed and Moonstone could feel his distress as plainly as her own. This is wrong -- why did she not ask for a volunteer? Demonstrate and show, yes...but not this. When her companion moved, dark eyes flew up to his face - his expression hard and displeased - but Titan paid her no attention, instead he went forward and spat before the young General Queen before turning and leaving.
Moonstone felt strongly that she should follow him, but Spec Ops had become her home, one of the only places where she felt she belonged. But would it continue to be her home? Could she continue to serve under Hessonite when she had little faith in her practices? The captain took a breath and bit the inside of her cheek, on her breast Metallia's medal weighed hot and heavy, a reminder. Metallia's will...but I can't just...this is not the way. Knowing that she may be punished, that standing before a General Sovereign and saying 'no' was probably not the smartest move she'd ever make, Moonstone stepped towards Hessonite, towards the lieutenants pooled, the glittering star seeds.
"Respectfully, this is wrong. Removing a star seed requires finesse they may not have yet and death is often the result of careless removal." With shoulders pulled back and gaze steady, Moonstone addressed Hessonite, her state of unsettle and roiling stomach betrayed only by sweat beading at her hairline. "Whatever point you wished to make, this is not the way."
Having said that, Moonstone set her jaw, tasting blood still and did one of the hardest things she'd had to do yet in her long and storied career as an officer of the Negaverse: she turned and walked out, the fringed leather of her costume flaring out in her wake.[ EXIT ]

Lt. Carminite -- observing
Much as in the previous one, things in this meeting were moving far too fast for him to properly keep up. Before he knew it the General Queen's attention was on them and, mercifully, when she pointed out three lieutenants he hadn't been among them. To become subject to what the three were now being made to do after barely a day...it might have been enough to scare him off for good if he'd been the one to go up to the front of the room. He had reason to before, but pulling an agent's starseed simply because he was asked...Carminite wasn't entirely sure he'd be able to do that. He knew what the results would be, after all, and to do something like that just for the sake of a demonstration just seemed utterly distasteful to him. It showed as much in his eyes and in the curl of his lip, not that he was planning on saying anything. He had a feeling he was little more than a pawn to a sovereign, particularly one like Hessonite, disposable and completely replaceable. He wasn't interested in getting his starseed yanked simply because he didn't like her style, so he bit his tongue and simply watched.
His interest in this branch was shot, but he intended on sticking around long enough to be dismissed, if for no other reason than to get a better understanding of what the branch is actually tasked with. In the interest of self-preservation, he also figured it might be a good idea to get a better read on the General Queen and the way she would run the branch. Carminite had a feeling he'd be spending the rest of his career in the Negaverse avoiding her like the plague, though.

Hessonite watched the crowd out of the corner of her eyes, and grinned as she saw no less than two people leaving. “Very good.” The words were spoken to both Huntite and to herself at the situation. She did not want those in her branch who could not understand the loyalty that was truly required to perform what Special Operations had to perform. There was no room for soft feelings, no room for worry about if what you were doing would cause death, because most of what would be done would lead to death. And that was the point.
It was rather a pity that Moonstone had been one of those to leave. She had liked the girls spark.
“Huntite, that was very good, please return the starseed to its proper place now. All of those who are still with us, well done. You clearly understand when to keep silent and when to speak. I appreciate your willingness to let me do what I must. That is what I am looking for in the agents of my branch.” She wanted to ruffle feathers. That was why they were brought here. The Negaverse of Destiny City had been in some sort of a rut. If not a rut, then they were doing something gravely wrong. She was here to turn that all around.
Carefully, she knelt beside Violane and returned the starseed to its proper place in her chest. “Well done. I am proud of you.”
The General Queen looked out into the crowd. “General…Cinnabar, that was your name, right? Do me a favor. In the bag I brought is a camera for everyone in this room. Pass them out, won’t you? And all of you, Generals especially. Take photos. Get to know your lieutenants. Get to know their families, their friends. Give them the fear of what will happen if the decide to leave us. I do not like the idea of purification, and it happens all too often in this city. There will be some of you that think this should be left to the Information branch, yes, but, they can only do so much. We must provide our own information, and that is what you will do.”

There were a few officers that left outright at the general queen's display of force. It was not even the spirit of the lesson that bothered Cinnabar so much as the way any trust that had been established between officers was being ripped apart. She felt, strongly, that trust was important. Its what made a cohesive team, made ties that would bind them together and was what she felt would best dissuade defection... but this made each an island, alone and without friends. How did any officer hope to last that way, when every one of their fellows was cast in the light of a possible turn coat?
The general spared no attention for those who left. If they couldn't handle this, well... then it was probably for the best. The General Queen would not be leaving any time soon. They could potentially be dealing with this from her for a while...
She watched with focused attention as Violane's starseed was returned and some of the tension leeched out of her as color returned to her face. Good... she seemed not to have suffered any damage from the abrupt act. Cin had begun to step forward to help her up and sweep her out of the spot light when the General Queen's attention seemed caught by the motion and eyes turned to her, forcing her to stop half way.
At the 'request', Cin's lips thinned, a muscle moving in her jaw as she tensed it.
Pass out cameras? Really? It felt so... juvenile, and beneath her station, that a flash of resentment brought the tension back to her body. She was a General of the Negaverse. She had killed, with her bare hands, for the sake of this organization. Given up her humanity to cement her devotion... and she was to pass out cameras, like a child in grade school, while her lieutenant lay on the floor at the General Queen's feet. And then, after, to take pictures of them and their personal relationships, as leverage should one of them dare to seek purification... as though it were already known that they would, before they had even settled into this life...
The resentment burned like a coal in her chest, making it hard to swallow around it's thickness in her throat. For a long moment, she remained where she was, struggling to push down the desire to rebel. It was very hard, just then, to remember how eager she had been to meet the new head of her branch.
"With respect to your knowledge, General Queen." Cinnabar managed to push down the flare of anger, but she could not stop her remarks. "If we are busy doing Information's job for them, who will be doing ours? If I'm busy gathering information on loyal officers on the chance that they will try to purify, I'm not out hunting down those who have already done so to bring them back for punishment. As I have been doing with proven success. It seems a waste of my talents and training... and perhaps Infos would be better served by demonstrations like this to... motivate them."
It was perhaps a bad idea to speak up, but Cin figured she could chalk it up to old, bad habits and accept her punishment with grace when it came.

Leucite had noted the people leaving, and he could not blame them for doing so. What Hessonite requested... no, required... was a tough thing to ask of anyone. Leucite had only stood his ground because he had suffered this before. He had grown up with this sort of thing, and so he knew how to grit his teeth and suck up the sting and keep his chin up in the face of authority. All the same... He stepped forward even as Cinnabar asked her questions moving over to the bag in question and picking it up. He then walked back over to Cinnabar and placed it next to her, before moving aside for a moment and then clearing his own throat. "With all due respect, General Queen," Leucite said, keeping his eyes on Hessonite as he spoke, gauging her reaction to his words as he spoke them. "But I feel that General Cinnabar is appropriately concerned. Moreover, while I can't speak for everyone here, I have found it is common practice to get to know one's Lieutenant shortly after bringing them into the fold. With all of the Lieutenants under my command at the moment, I know all of this information already, getting photographic evidence would not help me keep them in the Negaverse." Motioning to the three Lieutenants near to the General Queen he continued. "More to the point, I have no doubt that your intentions with this display were met. To continue to push that we have no faith in the loyalty of our Lieutenants, many of who were hand picked for their particular skills and traits, would only have the opposite effect. If anything, I believe that perhaps, some time for adjustment to a new head of the branch is in order. Too much, too quickly, will only poison the well." With that he gave a small shrug. "Just a thought, General Queen, to the needs of morale, is all."

Super Sailor Typhon"What those two ******** said," Typhon sneered, arms crossed in agreement to Cinnabar and Leucite. He was down for the dirty work nobody wanted to do, but he had no interest in keeping tabs on his allies. He was in the Negaverse to focus on his enemies, not his allies or their friends or family. Furthermore, as the Senshi of Hurricanes, he left plenty of collateral damage in his wake as it was - he didn't need to target or threaten bystanders just because of a turncoat's decision. He'd rather take out the turncoat. And that little faith in their lieutenants? ********. If they were tracking him in that way, or getting close to him for just those reasons then that would only send him looking for the door. They already took his family and friends away when they corrupted him. He's spent years adrift and rebuilding. To have that threatened by the very group he was expected to be loyal to? He wasn't one to trust leadership, but he felt just in this case. Who did this b***h think she is? If this new General Queen was sent here to clean up a mess and make things better, she was doing a shitty job in Typhon's book. He glanced to his General Xenotime. He knew he needed to bite his tongue and he was attempting for once in his life to keep his filters on, but this situation was trying. "I think I want to change my ******** list," he whispered softly to her.

General XenotimeIt was taking a considerable amount of self control for the general to keep her emotions from playing across her face. The more she watched, the more she heard, the less she liked. Everything they had been working for, everything they had established on their own and made work, and now it was being questioned and torn apart? Why? Cinnabar's protest, the first in a series, was met with a small nod, pale eyes narrowing slightly and nails biting into her bare arms. Then Leucite gave voice to some of her own concerns, and then Typhon. Xenotime reached back over her shoulder to stroke the fingers of her left hand along the tall corrupt's chin, then stepped forward as well, finally allowing herself to speak out. "All due respect as well, General-queen, but to hang a threat over the heads of all our agents on the chance that a handful my attempt to leave us? That is extreme. My agents are happy with their place in Metallia's army. They trust me. I would much rather take trust and loyalty over fear. I want a soldier on my team, at my back, that cares about me and our cause more than about simply staying alive." She managed to keep her voice even and respectful throughout, but it was a struggle. "When you disarm the people, you commence to offend them and show that you distrust them either through cowardice or lack of confidence, and both of these opinions generates hatred." She was quoting now, but it felt incredibly appropriate to the occasion.

General Schörl" All authority is assumed, and if others don't accept your authority then you have naught. " Fingers steepled drummed with steps near to Cinnabar's side, but not weapon closeness. An ally's guarding of flank. "You began with these possible recruits- they were told to stand apart. They came interested, but were clearly marked Other. Lesser as ...pets with little names and no affection. 'I could care less' were your words? 'Huntite, Violane and…that girl' ...? Reduction of agents to resources. Useful in boot camps, not with how you followed it." "You fail to inform yourself of the basic policies enacted by your own Queen in her tenure. too busy? Either by meeting with her or other of the Generals here in private could still save you the time of review records. Lazy then? Proud? Either way, not willing to admit faults, or weaknesses, make use of available resources, and choosing to show ill in the active field of presentation. So you will not lead us wisely." "You reduce Generals to errand runners. A decorated officer is General Cinnabar. She may not be great at setting ambushes, but her loyalty to Metallia is wrought in scales on her skin. Her strength in arm and ferocity is warm as fire. A decorated officer, not days ago by Metallia herself, is Moonstone. But you drive such officers away without batting an eye. So you cannot read people. And you reduce ambition as a tool to any prospective of these recruits that stays. Why should they seek to please you or do well for you when the reward of rank and medals is passing out party favors. " " Reduce the whole to assumed disloyalty, to an adolescent ice breaker with cameras and threatening...families? Friends? These things that you've already intimated we shouldn't be caring about as much as our assigned tasks. It is a kind of contradiction of purposes. So you cannot keep your own orders and aims straight. Tactically unsound. " "You come here after the death of many General Sovereigns, of one Queen, over many years. We are all her resources. We each have a worth- every military in the world knows the worth, per soldier, of a trained against an untrained body. How repurposing is better than having to start fresh. If every soldier here leaves, the Spec Ops is gutted. If a majority have no faith to serve, SpecOps is neutered and fractious. Steps backward with no good statistics to improvement. Starting new from a small crop of lieutenants? Shameful in loss of years, experience, and further years. Again, steps back. You cannot account worth in others. Cannot balance costs, times and training as any General of a modern Navy, Marines, Air Force or Army can do. Tactically unsound." " Even the senshi and knights, with their sticks and stones and limited magic killed Apatite in these halls. You, Hessonite, are a resource. You are a power, but not irreplaceable. One that is showing unfit to authority. One that is showing it is no better than a conduit hand for Metallia's power. Not to lead us in battle, not to do research and guide us wisely, not to combine our strengths in new and devastating ways we had not the experience to see. Not to succor our strengths and find new paths for those who struggle with finding their niche. A weapon to throw at senshi, as Apatite, and show up once in a while to take care of promotions. " "Now, now, maybe this is all a test. Maybe you seek to seek, through cloak and dagger, which of us can weigh and play at subterfuge. What temperatures are each temperament. Which respond to what orders. But the system is breaking down, and it is destroying foundations. You have undermined every source of Authority, save fist alone, which time and the Senshi have already proven temporary, save in Metallia alone. First impressions, as they say. " First Impressions are No.Confidence.
