Lieutenant Natrolite

Typhon's call came through and Natrolite recognizing voice grunted out while swinging the bone at the youma, "tha' head do anythin but grow hair handsome?" A.k.a get your a** over here and hit this damn thing or shut up and stop telling him how to do his job jackass. Soon powerful jaws latched onto the bone and snapped it right in two, bringing a flurry of colorful curse words from the lieutenant.

A jump back as the youma turned on Moonstone and stormy eyes watched as those claws dealt the woman damage. That looked painful, hands tightened around two ends of his once bone. The man waiting for a perfect moment to strike and then Moonstone gave it a powerful whack with weapon over head. Hoping the thing was disorientated enough not to immediately knock him on a** the Lieutenant rushed forward, using every inch of force in body to try and bury the now two serrated bone pieces into the Youma's side.

If they broke well he'd just start punching it much like his general.

Xenotime was given a look in the moment of attack, if eyes met one that asked her; "what now boss" as they soon became surrounded. Luckily a call from Prehnite was overhead, kill the Alphas, now that sounded like a plan!

General Leucite

Leucite did not like how this was going. He had heard the howl of the Alphas and that meant that there were definitely more on the way. He didn't immediately look to see how many more, since he was dealing with other matters.

When Stibnite knocked the other youma away he spun his weapon up and quickly moved to the beast, grabbing the bony head ridge and pulling it forward toward him, and giving a whistle call to Iucidael to come and bite down on the back of it's neck.

The command was clear, hold on until the beast turned to dust.

Turning his attention back to Stibnite and Raspite, he quickly moved to them, tapping both their shoulders.

"Wedge formation, if any of them manage to make it around us, fall into a triangle back-to-back, we keep moving until they're dead or we break through."

Lieutenant Marcasite

There was a chance she was in over her head, especially when her well placed kicked did little to deter the wolf from moving on and lunging at Wolfeite instead. She had an urge to intervene, to grab the beast by it's scruff and tear it off of him but her attention was diverted, pulled away by the sight of her general, and the blood seeping through the front of her uniform.

There was a second of hesitation before she was running off, headed towards Xenotime with gritted teeth and clenched fist. She had wanted to help the half-youma captain but her general was her first and foremost priority after Metallia.

She skidded across the ground, pebbles flying as she ran, determined to at least put distance between Xenotime and the beast when she lifted a leg and spartan kicked the wolf. Her heels were more useful than her fist in that moment.

Half Youma Captain Wolfeite

The wolves were not frightening to him at all; and in fact, Wolfeite felt a strange sort of draw towards them, his lips curling back into a maniacal grin, twisted and sharp across his face. And this right here was the reason why he had accepted Labyrinthite's offer - for the power that he could feel thrumming through his veins as he slashed viciously at the nearest wolf.

He was in his element, lost in the sheer euphoria of unbridled violence, only dimly aware of claws slashing his own chest, of Marcasite somewhere to his side. Wolfeite slammed a fist out, kicked hard at whatever came near to him.

Captain Zircon

Zircon smirked when her weapon struck true, summoning it back to her hand before it could clatter away into the bones. She held the boomerang at length from her chest as if it might have been a club, ready to strike at the next youma to come her way. Fortunately for her the wolves had better sense than to try and swarm her, at the cost of Wolfeite and their poor little lieutenant who had been so brazen as to jump into the fray at melee range. Had they been in slightly less peril, Zircon might have rolled her eyes at the utter lack of brainpower on display, but Labyrinthite was giving her a pointed look that made her sober up and focus. The captain wasn't a solo operator anymore, and if she was going to be part of this team, she needed to act like it.

Time to prove her worth, then.

Walking into melee range was going to be a hassle, and would cost time she didn't have, considering that the youma had reinforcements in tow. Zircon looked down at her position, and then backed to the growing chaos in the boneyard, scrambling to think through the rush of adrenaline in her veins. Wolfeite was in more dire straits, but he also had the tools necessary to get himself out, if he really was strong enough to earn that captain's mantle. Additionally, he had backup from a sprightly lieutenant ((Marcasite)) who seemed to be holding her own for the moment, making him more than prepared for the onslaught. Serpierite, however, was fresh for the slaughter if she kept up with what she was doing, and it didn't take much imagination for Zircon to picture her waifish little uniform in bloodstained tatters. But the lieutenant had leaped over to Labyrinthite before he'd gone charging the alphas, which put her even further away. More steps was more time, time that Zircon still didn't have, and each heartbeat pounding in her head passed another missed opportunity to act while her fellow officers fought and bled.

A thought struck her and she didn't bother taking the time to analyze its worth, crouching down on her good leg. "Heads up, Lieutenant!" she shouted, and with the strength that had vaulted her to rooftops in the past, Zircon launched herself from the desiccated soil, rearing her weapon towards the sky. She landed hard somewhere near Serpierite, attempting to throw the entirety of her momentum down on the nearest youma with one two-handed swing. Was it crazy? Certainly, considering it was a page taken from Moonstone's berserk fighter style, but when the chips were down and they were rapidly becoming outnumbered it didn't seem like restraint was going to do them any favors.

"I've got your six if you've got mine," Zircon rasped, glancing back to the lieutenant for only a moment as she wobbled back to her feet. Then her eyes darted forward, keeping track of their numbers as she shuffled slowly further into the graveyard, keeping the lieutenant in her peripherals. If they were going to defend themselves, they needed to stick together, one pack against another.

The original five youma were going to town as the second pack joined in. However, their fates had already been sealed as made clearly known when Moonstone’s first target yelped and fell as dust at her feet. Those of the second pack closest to her turned their attention at her with growls. As the Youma riding Captain went through, those closest to her path launched themselves forward, striking out at both the legs of the woman atop it.

Nearby, Xenotime’s and Marcasite’s actions quickly dusted the third youma when Marcasite’s foot made contact. Seems that action was just the over the edge motion needed after the deadly assault by Xenotime.

Natrolite’s attack might have been too late for the first youma that attacked Moonstone but it was just on time to slice into the side of the youma that had come to take its place. As the wolf like beast tried to follow the youma riding captain, it was blind-sided by the spikes of bones sinking into fur and flesh. With a yelp, the wolf turned its bald head onto the agent and lashed out with fangs, yanking the bone bits that remained in its flesh as it tried to return the favor!

Left to his own devices, Wolfeite was going toe to paw with the youma that had found him the perfect prey. A second one seemed to have realized that this invader had something very similar to them. With a snap, both came at him…the one coming from the front being met with a fist that sent it flying backwards. The one behind thinking that the tail coming from this body looked rather tasty.

Leucite’s own youma had not trouble seeing the General’s orders through to the end. A third youma dusted, it was quickly becoming clear that they could fight them off….there would just be quite a bit of bloodshed in the process. Even after Prehnite removed the purple eye of one, sending it snarling back blindly at him.

The pair of Alphas, however, were far from impressed by the actions of their visitors. Especially as Labyrinthite summoned his weapon and came towards them. With very little effort, the pair did not move. Instead, they sat, watching as the swing of his scythe came around towards them…

CRACK!

The scythe made direct contact but it was not with the flesh of the alpha youmas. No, something else had risen from behind the pack leaders and stopped the swing of the weapon as it cast a shadow over the pair. What Labyrinthite had struck was a massive horn. Anyone that knew something about bugs would quickly realize that was the horn of a Rhino Beetle…a Rhino Beetle the size of an adult male Humpback Whale with a smaller one attached for a horn.

From the shadows under that, the alphas leapt to either side as the beetle broke through the pile of bones clearing a larger area around everyone and sending several of the pack flying with the bones.

For a moment, it did not move. Then the six legs carried it forward towards Labyrinthite and in the direction of the cliff face before them. Anyone still on the cliff wall or above was about to wish they were holding onto something as it rammed into it with its horn.

Those to the side of the oncoming bug train would notice that in the back of its shell, pieces of bone had been stuck. On in particle attached between the head and body on the underside seemed to appear more than just a bone. It glowed a twisted color of purple. Maybe the prize came to them!

Good luck getting it!

General Xenotime

It took the wolf dissipating into dust in her hands for the general to realize her newest lieutenant had rushed to her side. Xe took stoke of the battle still raging, of where her stood scattered around her, then turned silver eyes back to Marcasite with a small, gracious nod. She could have handled the beast on her own, but with the lieutenants quick action it was dead all the sooner, and now the both of them were free to turn their attention elsewhere.

Which was fortunate, because only a moment or two after something larger, more pressing decided to show itself. Not a wolf this time, but something that looked much more like an insect, if insects came in ridiculously large sizes. "Well s**t." It would take more than a few well aimed punches and a strong kick to dust that prey.

Bleeding, a touch breathless, Xenotime took a very quick second to look down at the damage the wolf's claws had done to her chest. Black fabric was shredded, barely upholding the general's modesty(not that she cared), but beneath what remained were long, messy gashes in varying depths. Some bled freely, and her fingertips came away stained, but others merely oozed slowly. It was too early to tell, yet, if there would be any lasting scars, but she was already sporting the evidence of heavy battles, what were a few more marks?

Wiping fingers off on her thigh, Xenotime grimaced before looking back at the giant beetle that was ramming the cliff wall. "Marce, do you see what I see; there, on it's back?" She pointed, lips curling into an ambitious smile. "How about we go retrieve that."

Typhoon was equally as free at the moment, and she waved her hand at him to grab the corrupt's attention. "Typhoon, we're moving in. Let's go!" The rest of her troops would join when they could.

Ignoring the sting of the marks on her chest, the General led the charge for the giant youma. She grabbed Marcesite's hand, leaping when she was near enough to land with careful footing on the thing's slick back with her lieutenant in tow. From there, it'd be easy to launch an unimpeded attack.

Lieutenant Marcasite

Blue eyes glanced over Xenotime's front with concern once her heel turned the wolf into dust. She was certain that the purple haired woman could've handled it but - it was simply handled faster, hopefully with less blood loss than it looked.

Perhaps this would be one of the days that she was thankful for her layers.

She lifted her head, searching for the piece that her general mentioned. She nodded her head, letting Xenotime pull her onto the beetle's back.

She landed a little wobbling and her hard kick lost it's potency. Whoops, she'd just have to try again.

Benitoite.

"Of course Huntite, I will be mindful of myself. I do not care to put myself at risk of more injuries - given that I may be needed later in this mission." He was a General and while he wasn't the only one here the Negaverse was lacking in Generals. He was a needed member as he had the time in, thus knowledge and experience, but he had more power and a better weapon as well. He wasn't going to take himself out when he might very well be needed at some point.

"If you loose your hold let me know, if you're close to me I can teleport us both." He didn't want to teleport too soon into things but if the other lost his hold than he would most certainly grab Huntite and teleport them. Shifting, stretching, he reached for another hold wincing as he put more weight onto his more injured leg. Gritting his teeth against the pain he forced himself to focus on getting that hand hold and when he felt his hand wrap around the protruding bit of rock he was able to lower himself further as he found a foot hold for himself. Moving his gaze down, to look around for where he'd place a hand and a foot next he let his attention wander to Witherite.

Watching Witherite carefully, in case the other came to needing help, the General wasn't all that surprised when he saw the other leap off the cliff face at some point - he did jump into things. Rolling his eyes he shook his head. He would learn in time to pace himself and not dive right into things. With time came patiences - for most anyway. Though he would be lying if he didn't admit to wanting to being down there to fight, and help, as well but for him that was rather impossible. He could teleport but he was going to conserve his energy as he might need it later.

He had not had his eyes on the battle and thus had missed the newly risen horned beetle youma. He did see it however when he felt the virbrations in the ground from the flying bone and he heard the commotion it's appearence caused. Looking over his eyes wide as he took in the youma's form as it came toward him and the others. s**t! A decision made, and quickly, he reached for Huntite and grabbing at the others uniform teleported them to the ground. The landing, jarring as it was, had his injured leg giving out under him just as he summoned his weapon. Rolling to avoid one of the beetles legs, he had teleported them a bit too close to the youma, he climbed up onto his feet slowly as he used his weapon to assist in doing so. "Huntite! Ready yourself. Katya, out of the way and keep safe." Don't let the wolves get you, it was unspoken but she was no stupid cat and he knew it

Looking around he called out then. "Witherite!" He hadn't seen him since his attention had been stolen by the giant of a youma. He wanted to make sure the other Lieutenant under his care was well. While waiting for a response from his other Lieutenant, and being so close to the giant of a youma, he struck out with his weapon slashing at a leg.

Captain Moonstone - 400 - 74 (the total up to here) = BEETLE HP @ 326

Claw and fang snapped and reached for bared legs, leaving a series of fine scores that welled blood that smeared across Wasgo's markings, blending in with the reds and blacks and standing starkly against the whites, but these were less worrisome than the slashes to her torso from earlier, and she had to draw her beast to one side to tear her costume tails into strips to wrap her middle up. Moonstone was about to send Wasgo back into the fray when there was a disturbance, right in the middle where the General Labyrinthite was swinging his massive scythe.

A horrible rumbling sound happened, the ground of the Rift splitting over the giant carapace of something...and then suddenly there was a giant goddamned rhinoceros beetle. And it immediately ******** charged the wall to knock about those that still stood atop the precipice. It was a devastating move, but it was also fortuitous as it gave Moonstone - and others, no doubt - an excellent look at the twist of purple in it's shell. That's got to be it! "Okay Wasgo, we have a new target - go go go! Destroy it!"

The captain and her sharkdog went speeding towards the Boss Beetle, Moonstone pushing up to a standing position before launching off Wasgo's broad back so that she could hit the creature with a bit of extra leverage. The youma slashed at the underbelly of the beast as well, adding to the Captain's damage tally.

Corrupt Eternal Chrysocolla

"Oh, s**t," Chrysocolla muttered, ducking out of the way just soon enough to avoid debris. That was -- that was a youma bigger than anything she'd ever seen. Did they normally get that big?

...well, no time to ponder it now, actually. There was a better time to ponder things, and it was called 'any time you're not in the Rift with a giant youma bearing down on you'. With a carapaced enemy, her normal tactics wouldn't work, but what might work was...her magic. No better time to try and make it FRIGHTENED, after all.

"Warhol Mood Refraction," she whispered, cupping her hands over her chest. She gripped the emerging sphere tight -- sidestepped to get a better angle -- and thrust it directly into the beetle youma's leg, following up with a sharp punch to where the carapace didn't seam up so firmly. Maybe it'd work -- maybe it wouldn't, and she'd just get stepped on for her trouble. But she had to do something.

Damage dealt: 29
Effect: If this attack connects, it temporarily reverses the enemy's primary emotion for twenty seconds; i.e., bravery to cowardice. Unlike Warhol Mood Reversal, this attack cannot be shaken off prior to the natural timeout, even if the enemy realizes their emotions have been affected.

General Labyrinthite

There was a moment where he cursed himself, when the blade of his weapon connected with something that was very much not his intended target. The horn of a beetle, a very large beetle, is what he hit and it had done little to the thing at all.

He backed up immediately, banishing the weapon to reduce the weight he was carrying as he did his best to avoid being actively crushed. He hit the ground, barely avoiding being utterly crushed while the beetle rammed into the wall.

One of the legs did manage to clip him in the side, slashing open his shirt and piercing skin. He rolled beneath the beetle to avoid any further damage, lifting a leg and kicking hard at the underbelly before attempting to army crawl his away out from beneath it.

He'd teleport if he had to but -

he could see his way out from beneath it, and so he crawled.

Lt. Witherite

He managed not to get in it with any of those nasty wolf youma only to be nearly knocked over by a beetle leg. It was an odd thing for him to be fighting youma when it was not something they usually did, but orders were order and that thing was causing a lot of havoc.

He was looking at it, with all kinds of one and what not sticking out and betting bone wouldn't do much good against, but with a plastic wrench he didn't have much of a choice.

He heard Beni call out to him and shouted back a reply, "I'm fine, gonna try to take out the some of legs."

With that he grabbed a bone and gabbed it towards one of the youma's legs. He moved afterwards to at least be in view of Beni and the other lieutenant Huntite.

Lt. Raspite

As his new orders where spouted from his General, Raspite did as told almost immediately. He falling into formation and keeping his eyes on those that might come in close. He summoned that which was his weapon to his hand. It less than impressive, seeing as it was naught but a small. striped, candy cane.

He had often cursed himself and his luck for having such a pointless weapon, but in the end, it was what it was and he would make use with it where he could. It was useful to blind enemies if nothing else.

He glanced over his shoulder, looking to the one that lead them, watching as the Earth broke apart beneath them and the guest of honor made itself known. This, this was less than favorable for them all at this point, and Raspite wanted nothing more than to get out from under the beast's feet.

"We would do best to rethink this strategy in this instance!" He did not openly question Leucite, but at this moment they needed a new plan. He did the only thing he could, taking his weapon and stabbing it with force into the beetle's leg.

General Leucite

As soon as Iudicael had dusted the youma, Leucite had whistled and called the youma to his side, and was already moving to get into formation with Raspite and Stibnite when the giant beetle youma made itself known. With a hiss he turned his head to the two lieutenants and shouted. "Change of plans!"

He immediately jumped back and away from the oncoming youma, slashing his spear against its carapace as it charged past, hissing as it scratched against the shell but otherwise bounced off.

Landing with a slight skid among the bones, Leucite spotted the glowing bone on the back of the beetle.

"Focus on the big one and defend yourself as need be. Engage at will!"
