Iroia laughed a little. "Ahah, well I don't know anything about him either so don't worry about it. We will eat the food and all will straighten itself out. "Thanks for looking after my little girl, I hope she kept you busy while I was gone. I missed our mischief making I surely did."
Without any of her mates, pack or otherwise, she had felt like a ghost of her self, no light, no day, no joy...just a creepy ghost like drifting that she didn't care to revisit in the near future. There had to be some nonsense they could get up to with a youngling, a prentice and two suitably unstable adults. Except she felt more stable now, having been given two more pillars to base her life on.
She could see all the philosophy was about to crack his skull too. Well he had been the muscle after all, they shared the guts and she occasionally used her brain for good or evil. That was how they had worked.

Volkarosh thought about it for a moment. The Alkidike blood sounded likely, but she had Alkidike blood too, didn't she? (of course she did, he was her twin). What did she get from it, if not size. The cookies, however, seemed... unlikely? Volkarosh wasn't sure.
Finally, she nodded. "Okay." she said, a little disgruntled. It wasn't fair that he was taller, but one way or another, she would fix that. She resisted taking another bite of the cookies - it was for later.
"So what do you do?" she asked Arronthain, studying him closely. It was an open ended question.
One/two more rounds and it counts as two for lash and the twins!
Ruelash normally took whatever he saw as what he saw. Deciet, deception, and depth were complete enigmas to him. But, right now, he felt like he was on a precipice, and he didn't trust her laughter. Damn... When he'd thought about finding Iroia, he'd only thought about bringing Volkarosh to her. He'd only halfway thought of bringing himself to her. And Votzhem... Not at all. Damn... He felt like he'd missed something big. It sucked.
"Y..yeah." he managed. His thoughts were still lingering on should he have searched for Votzhem or done something or... but the conversation, at least, had turned to something he knew. "She's a fun kid! Real good hunter." he grinned in pride, a little weaker than usual, but... he was proud of her, after all. "I bet she can shoot better'n you now!"

Arron pondered that question for a little bit, "I'm not up to much right now, but I think I'm going to be a beast tamer when I get older, it looks like fun, you got to use all your skills to outsmart the critters and the people. I don't want to loose my sharp mind."
He stretched himself out, "It's the perfect combination of brains and physique." Or at least he thought so. "What about you?"

Iroia laughed, "She's probably ten times better then I am with the bow, the throwing knives though, those we will have to see." She winked at him and fingured the hilt of one of her blades, they were her pride and joy. "Nothing like a good knife fight, those were the days flinging sharp objects in the heat of war." she fanned herself dramatically.

He gave her a mostly-hearted, lopsided grin. "Dunno 'bout that." he said, thinking of his own sharp projectiles, "She throws 'bout as good as me. Not fast, like, but real... uh..." The word wasn't coming to him. He settled for an alternative. "She hits what she throws at. Gots herself a good eye." An outside observer might wonder if the knives or the child were his pride and joy.
"Hey." he said, glad for the subject change to something that didn't bring up strange new feelings, "Maybe we'll have another war, aye? Be killin' people like before, havin' our fun in the thick 'o it all..."
Beast tamer? Her brother was going to tame beasts? Lashy had always told her that Arron was sort of soft, and seeing him, she could believe it. Taming beasts?
Well. She nodded politely. Stranger things had happened. Like this whole day.
"I don't know." she said, kicking her feet. It was true, she didn't know. She didn't have to know until she grew up, which meant she could pretty much be anything. It was a nice thought. "Lashy says..." she began, feeling as though she had to give Arron something in return, "That I'm good with a dagger. I'm good with a bow, too." she could also cast a few practical spells, not very flashy, but very orderly. Careful. She didn't mention them, though. "I like animals though." But she didn't think that a tamer of beasts was really her path... now a hunter of beasts, however... That was a different story.

"Well you'd make a good bandit, I bet you would have a whole crew of your own to lead, it would be epic." He smiled. "Stealthy and beautiful, my sister the bandit queen. Has a nice ring to it no? Of course the bow is elegant and stylish too. All depends on which weapon calls to you."
He tugged one of her pony tails gently. He would be proud, no matter what she did.

Iroia winced. "I don't know how I feel about another war. I have precious things to protect, I can't do that in full melee, like we used to love. I miss it, having nothing to lose but myself but I wouldn't trade me kids for it."
She fell back into Rue's grammer when she was around him, it was interesting how one adapted to different people. What could she do? Nothing except protect her kids, she had lost one once she would do her best not to again.

Volkarosh's mouth opened then closed, the picture in her head - of her leading a group of people - seemed so strange to her that she had to think about it for a moment before it became possible in her head. What if she did become a bandit queen? What if she was a queen of any sort?
The thought was energizing, btu it struck her, all at once, how little her brother knew about her, and how little she knew about him. But he was her brother, her twin. This was not right.
She resisted the tug, giving him a playful shove. Not a light one - Ruelash didn't mind being shoved and pushed and hit, and she had fallen out of the habit of pulling back her hits.
Ruelash was stunned into silence by the declaration. When he'd met Iroia, they'd both been bloodthirsty fighters, waiting for the chance to tear the Obans to shreds. They'd been that way since the beginning, and now... what? How could Iroia not fight? Why was she bringing up so many complicated things, even for things that should be simple?
"Oh." he said, uncertainly. "Uh." Ruelash was not one for long sentences, but he rarely found himself at a loss for words when he needed them. Now, though... "Um. So." he gestured to the meat, "Is it done yet?"

Iroia looked down at the food in question and stirred it a little. It was indeed done and approaching overdone so she flicked it onto plates along with some greens and called the kidlets in for dinner, feeling her heart jerk in her chest as she did. They were together again...finally. She shook her head. "Eat, everything will make more sense once we eat I'm sure. It always worked in the past didn't it?"
She smiled and rubbed the back of Arron's head when he walked by making his hair stand on end, which made her giggle and point it out to his sister as the boy walked by semi- oblivious.

Arron giggled at her fierceness delighted in his little sisters spunk and was just about to reach out and tickle claw her when his mother called for food. Food preceded tickling but he still got his hair ruffled for his trouble and after swatting her hand away he sat and unceremoniously started stuffing his teenage face. Food was a serious matter and it was a darn good thing it was ready because his stomach had woken up and was demanding attention.
However despite his gastro greed he did pick out the best pieces given to him and deposite them on his sister's plate. She needed the good stuff more than he.

Volkarosh watched Iroia, entranced by how familiar she was, her movements so much like... Ruelash's? Her own? It was interesting. Predatory.
Nice.
She contemplated fixing Arron's hair for him, but ended up being distracted by the food... and Chi's breath, was she hungry. Reunions were hungry work.
Suddenly she paused, faint but strong memories returning to her. She held herself back, pausing in her eating and swallowing her food carefully before looking up at Iroia, a little uncertain. "Thank you for the food..." she said, smiling as the first round of her versus the food began to settle into her stomach.
And the answer was yes. His eyes lit up with gluttonous hunger and he lit into his meal. His table manners had slightly improved over the years, but they were still more fitting for bone-in meat and whole vegetables around a campfire. Or, alternatively, a vaguely civilized pack of wild raptri at their kill.
It was true, eating had always made things make sense in the past, so he put the confusing things aside for the time being. "Yeah, thanks 'Roia!" he said, belatedly through a full mouth at Volkarosh's prompting, "It's good!"
