The day before had been a nightmare. Frogs plagued Shiny Thing's every move and she had seen much less success than she was hoping for. She had seriously contemplated giving up and going home, but in the end her determination to visit every booth had won out. So, here she was back at the market and ready to kick some butt. Literally, as the first booth she approached seemed to be some sort of animal fighting ring. Good. Maybe she'd get paired with a frog and have some revenge on those horrid things.

Caiman - 8 Shiny Thing - 3 (-3) A caiman. Okay, not a frog, but at least close. Kind of. They both lived in water and stuff. But it was significantly larger. And pointier. And scarier. Yeah, no. Nevermind. This was a bad idea. Shiny Thing didn't even attempt to fight the caiman and opted to just jump out of the ring instead.

Leap spotted the brawl booth from a way's away, drawn in by the sounds of cheering and animal noises. A fighting ring? Though his preferred opponent wouldn't be something so small as a familiar, he silently promised to take it easy on whatever he would face against.
A swan? Beautiful creatures, swans. But he knew better than to get on one's bad side. Still, he wanted that token.

Swan: 8 Before You Look: 3 - 1 = 2
Unfortunately, he'd vastly underestimated the swan's fighting prowess. Certainly it had been selected for this booth for a reason, and Leap became aware of that reason quite quickly once the fight started. Though he had a size advantage, the swan had wings and resulting speed that overwhelmed the impulsive kiokote almost immediately. Amid a cacophony of squawking and a flurry of wings, Leap managed to back away. Well, that had certainly been embarrassing. He'd barely even landed a blow! Perhaps he would try again tomorrow, if his wounded pride had healed by then...

What Lies Beneath is back for another round, today and, this time, he plans firmly on NOT losing. Yesterday had been an embarrassment. He should have paid more attention to his surroundings and realized that the ground was a little slick. Maybe it had been done that way to give the animals a somewhat better chance... But, he can only hope that this time he does better.
Time to see what his opponent will be.

A CAIMAIN?!.
s**t.
The thing hisses at him, angrily, inflating its body as if to make itself bigger. Not that it's necessary. The thing is rather large for a caiman and he wonders if, perhaps, it might have been raised by one of the handlers.
It certainly doesn't seem tame at all, though.
As Lies looks into its black eyes, it snaps its jaws, whipping itself around as if to get free, eager to tear into him. The handsome buck forces himself to let out a breath. Ok. Time to think logically. Caiman are usually slower out of water... right? I mean, usually he'd try to ambush one of these things if he really had to, and he's not exactly a slouch, himself. His broad, sturdy, frame speaks to that well enough. But even the strongest of bucks, or does, knows better than to go up against a pissed off caiman that knows you're there.
s**t.
Well, no backing out, now. His pride won't allow it. So the buck squares his shoulders and takes a few steps forward, eyes narrowing. The caimain lashes out with its sharp teeth and he manages to avoid the first blow, kicking it against it's hard, armored head. That only seems to anger it even more and it lets out a sound that raises the hackles along the buck's smooth back.
Well...crap. And there's no time, nowhere to move to as it suddenly whips out that powerful tail and knocks him smack, clean in the chest, and straight onto his side, in the dirt once again.
His pride is smarting more than his skin, though, and Lies picks himself up with gritted teeth, barely holding his anger in check, though, somehow, he manages a small smile that he hopes doesn't look too strained. Enough of this, though. Time to find something else to entertain himself with.

Really, Butterfly Kiss should have learned from the first time that such an event was not for him. Sighing, he stepped into the ring and shifted nervously from hoof to hoof. Quote: the lynx - This lady's a predator. But...you might have a bit of a leg up on her. +4 to your roll.

A wasp shouldn't bee too bad right? As it was, Blue Blood did win, the poor thing getting nearly maimed. Feeling quite terrible for beating on the poor thing, he snuck away, taking his token with him.

The Swamp is Full of Free Dogs was super excited to get to play with some dogs. Really. When she saw the animal ring, she had to jump right in. To her great thrill, she got to play with an eaglehound. She loved eaglehounds!

The eaglehound's handlers released him and he sprang at Dogs, who sprang right back. They collided just off the ground. The dog fell back, while Dogs took the aggressive and moved forwards, whistling. "Heeey, boy. Here boy! That's a boy. That's a good boy!" The dog growled and dropped his front, as did Dogs. She fell into a play bow and smacked the ground with a hoof, wagging her tail. She could tell that the dog was really riled up, but that made sense. There were a lot of kin around. Sure enough as she relaxed her ears and face, showing him she was a friend, he began to get less tense himself. Barking at her, he approached, his feathery ruff fluffed up. She reached out and scratched him between the ears, and he looked up to nose at her hoof. From there, he was putty in her hooves. She wrestled with the dog, letting him n** at her tail while she rolled him over. "Who's a good boy?" she said, rubbing his belly with a hoof. "Who's a good boy?" The eaglehound barked and yapped, wriggling on his back as she continued to scratch him. "It's you! You're a good boy!" The dog licked her face as they continued to play. Eventually, somebody separated them and removed her from the ring so that others could use it, but she'd be back to play with the dog again later.

Lynx: 7 BK: 1+4 = 5
Despite having a very clear advantage, perhaps the best he would ever get, it was becoming abundantly clear that Butterfly Kisses was NOT a fighter. no, he was... Er... much much less than a fighter. He quickly surmised that this was not for him and loped off into the distance.
Oh well.

"Ha!" said Ode, stepping up to the ring. "I'd certainly like to see anyone match me."
But it remained to be seen whether he could actually live up to his boasts. Lily let him into the ring with a smirk, although she turned to find that one of her co-conspirators had given him...a foxbun. For an opponent.

foxbun: 6. ode: 1 + 8 = 9
Okay, he was fairly certain he had a strategy. He leaped clear over the little creature first. Just so everyone could see how long and lovely his legs were. They were very lovely, in his own humble opinion. Then he raced a tight circle around it. "Catch me if you can - " he began to sing, but it was actually quite fast. He hadn't accounted for that.
Still, it was far too small to be of much effect against him, and only tapped at his foot. Ode was himself quick to whirl around and pin it with his knee. "That's how a professional does this," he bragged to his now captive audience.
