A Bit of Cleaning Up

Shesha glanced into the study where Aqio was sleeping, watching him for a time being, before he ducked out. He had things to do at the moment despite the time and he knew that Aqio needed his rest. No reason to wake him up when the busy work he had laying ahead of him was just Lord Fiath. The question became if he had woke up already or if he was still curled up, drooling on the floor. Giving a little shake of his head he headed into his room, looking around, before he spotted the man sitting on the edge of his bed, rubbing his head, looking perplexed as to where he was. Well, at least he didn't look as though he was awake for long.

Giving a bit of a smirk Shesha stepped into the room and said, "It's about time you woke up, Lord Fiath, I thought I'd have to wait all night before I was able to sleep in my own room again." Lifting a hand he ran his fingers through his wavy red tresses, watching as the man turned to look his way, watching as confusion gave way to anger in the man's eyes.

"You." The single word sounded like a curse on the Lord's lips as the man lunged to his feet, stalking toward Shesha. Once he was close enough he reached out, grabbing hold of the front of the robe he wore, giving him a shake. Hissing between his teeth he said in a demanding manner, "Where am I? What did you do to me?" A demand that actually caused Shesha to chuckle a little bit, not seeming as though he was too upset over the fact that the man was clutching at his shirt in such a manner.

Lifting a hand up he rested it on the one that was clutching onto him so tightly, "You don't remember? You came here to cry on my shoulder because Lady Alhana has finally turned on you completely. Seems that she's even going to leave you instead of continuing to play act like you have been doing for so long? Isn't that right?" Lord Fiath had several mistresses and Lady Alhana had her various boy toys, Shesha being a former one, but the two of them had always stayed together for various reasons. It was better that they pretended to like each other then to risk a scandal that might ruin them. It seemed that one of her boy toys ended up being worth more to her then an in name only husband though.

"You... how do you know all that... I'd never come to you! You were spying on me!" Fiath spat out, giving Shesha a violent shake, as though it would make him speak a truth that he wanted to hear as opposed to the truth he'd tried to drown in expensive liquor.

Giving a smirk Shesha asked, "Tell me, the one that is stealing her away from you. Is it that puppy that drove me off or is it another?" Not that he cared exactly but he wanted to twist the knife a bit, so to speak. A good thing that Aqio was asleep or it might be done in a more literal sense. The little fish wouldn't take kindly to seeing him getting shaken like a rodent in the clutches of of a perzi. Best that he just slept through everything that they were dealing with so that he didn't make any sort of mess in his room.

The last thing he wanted was to have to mop up any mess the fish might make. Well, no, if he made a mess then he would just make sure that cleaned up the mess himself. Shesha was no servant, he wouldn't go about cleaning up messes that weren't even his own. Hell, he didn't even want to clean up his own messes half the time he thought to himself in a lazy manner before he reached out, catching hold of his chin, giving it a squeeze, "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. Truth be told I don't care who Lady Alhana is interested in, not anymore at least. While I was still with her I might have gotten upset but I'm not as interested in her love life these days."

Fiath gave another hiss before shoving Shesha away from him, hard enough that he ended up thumping against the wall. Instead of getting angry though he merely leaned into the wall, arms crossing over his chest, "I take that as a confirmation that you're not sharing."

Another angry sound came from Fiath, one that made him sound as though his anger was starting to really get the best of him, "I know that you're lying. You lured me here somehow, I know it. I am not fan of yours, Shesha, you're a monster that wears human skin, nothing more. You destroy lives to better yourself, like a parasite." Giving a snarl the man stalked forward, knocking the door of the room open hard enough that it slammed into the wall before leaving in a huff.

Shesha watched him go, giving a bit of a sigh as he went, "A parasite? Now that isn't very nice. Possibly true, but not nice." He moved to followed along after Lord Fiath, watching as the man left in manner that felt rather reminiscent of a 'walk of shame' despite the fact that the two of them hadn't done anything of that nature. It was a bit funny the way that he looked back and forth, making sure that nobody had seen him save for Shesha, before rushing off into the still darkened night. It seemed as though he was running for home? He wondered though if anything would be waiting there for him. Had Lady Alhana already taken everything and left? Had Lord Fiath been banished and had to find somewhere else to stay? So many questions that would go without answers he thought to himself, ducking back inside.

"I guess I should see about checking in on Aqio... though maybe I will neaten my room a bit first.II'd rather he not worry if he sees the mess." As much as he despised cleaning, seeing it as work for servants, he supposed he could do it just this once.

He really was glad that the 'old man' wasn't home tonight or else he would likely be displeased over everything that had been happening since before the sun even set. It had him rather curious as to what Svetan was actually up to. He knew that he went to the occasional party, mingling with others, and from time to time introducing Shesha around. It was what made him so useful to Shesha. Lifting a hand he rubbed it against his face, a little hiss escaping from his lips. Damn it, now that Lord Fiath had declared him little more then a parasite it was all he could think about. It was grating, making him want nothing more then to curse and throw things around. Something he'd refrain from doing since he didn't want to break anything of his own.

Instead he stalked his way to his room, going to plop down on a seat in front of his looking glass, looking himself over, before he lifted his hands to run them through his hair. He wasn't something so disgusting as a parasite. Sure, he used people, but they used him all the same. It wasn't as though Lady Alhana or any of the others he'd been with in the past got nothing out of working together with him. Things were fair, each party getting something out of the deal, with the exception of Aqio.

He couldn't help but to wonder, what did the little fish gain? Especially after Shesha had so completely rejected his various attempts at showing him 'love'. Did he only stick around because of the vain hope that one day Shesha would finally accept him in that way? He wasn't sure if that were the case and if it were was that a good thing or not? He didn't want him to get his hopes up but at the same time what could he do? He'd given Aqio a dozen chances to just leave him and he hadn't done so yet. It just proved that Aqio was a fool, nothing more and nothing less.

Pushing to his feet he decided to ignore such thoughts, instead focusing on neatening up his room a bit. The only things that needed fixing up were the things that Lord Fiath had tossed about. Every time he picked something up he would study it, making sure that it wasn't messed up, before putting it back where it belonged. He'd hoped that Lord Fiath would wake up in his lap, that he'd be able to blackmail him, but it had all gone down hill because of Aqio's interference. A shame, but he supposed it was just the way that things had to be. Not everything could go according to plan all the time.

Once his room was neatened he stretched out all over, sighing as he went. He supposed that he should go back to Svetan's study and get Aqio. He could lead him back here, tuck him in, and the two of them could get some rest. Once that was done he'd see about what his next move might be. He heard there was a gathering of some of the tribes coming up. It was supposed to be a discussion about what was to be done about the 'bug mages' that had been bothering people for so long. Once they were taken care of everyone would have peace of mind and things would return to how they had always been. Not that a lot had changed for Shesha save for him having to be a bit more careful then usual.

If they were taken care of though and Tendaji allowed free reign over its actions again then maybe things would become more interesting again. That was what Shesha would prefer at least. Giving a little yawn he stepped into the study, walking over to where he'd left Aqio to sleep on the couch. Excellent, it appeared as though he'd slept through Shesha's final dealings with Lord Fiath. That was just as he hoped it would be, finding that it would be far cleaner that way.

Walking over to where he was sleeping he settled down on the edge of the couch, lifting a hand to toy with a bit of Aqio's hair, "Alright, little fish, it's about time that we head to bed. We want to get a lot of sleep before we are called out to the meeting that the various tribes are having. I want my mind to be sharp so that I can take in everything that is said." Once he'd learned all he could then they could decide what their next move would be, if any. No reason to involve himself in something that would benefit him in the long run either socially, monetarily, or otherwise.

Growth Solo: Bad For Ones Heart

(( Shesha finds himself thinking on his strange relationship with his personal assassin, Aqio. Despite his own personal thoughts on relationships and love he's decided to keep going forward with the little fish regardless of the threat that he feels he represents. All he knows is that despite the threat he wants to keep him and that being without him would be sad. Something he hasn't ever felt about others he's parted ways with in the past. ))

Shesha was on a walk, deep in thought, going over everything in his mind that had happened during the meeting with the various tribes and their leaders. He knew that those in charge were eager to see them go to battle against the Dretch but he wasn't really feeling it himself. It felt as though they didn't know nearly enough about what was going on to put people at risk. Given that he wasn't anyone important enough, not being a Lord or a General he couldn't really say anything that would really stop the march. As such he would just have to see about protecting what things he cared for. Given that those things were pretty few and far between it should be easily enough. It was just himself that he had to look out for, right?

Even as he told himself that he found his thoughts turned to Aqio. It was a thought that had him coming to a halt, his eyes going for a moment wide, before he shook his head. No, by Nerrad's beard, no. Why was his mind wandering on such a path? He was starting to think that maybe it was because the fish had told him. He'd done his best to shut that all done but he knew full well that Aqio wasn't going to just drop it. That meant that he was going to have to face the feeling of the little fish again in the future, likely time and again too. He'd given him a chance to go forth, to find someone that could love him more easily, someone that wasn't Shesha. For some reason he'd decided to stay instead, which didn't make sense to him. To be fair though he just didn't understand the emotion in general.

From everything that Shesha had seen in his life it was a feeling that made a person weak and foolish. You were willing to give so much to have 'love' and tended to suffer for it. He'd seen it with his parents and they were the ones that really turned him off of it. They were cuddly and sweet to the point of being nauseating in his mind. Not to mention that their love had birthed not only Shesha but his many siblings as well, a family that was a 'living on love' sort as his mother had once told him. It wasn't something that he'd really bought, even as a young man, and that was what lead him to doing all he'd done to slowly but surely work his way up in the world. He wanted to become something, someone great, and he worried that even a brush with love would throw all of his plans out of whack.

It was because of his beliefs that he had reacted in the way that he had when Aqio confessed to him, having wanted at the time to just throw him out. If he was smart he would have and yet here he was still walking around with the little fish despite everything. He'd even claimed that he was going to stop any sort of intimate dealings between the two of them but that hadn't really panned out as a good threat either. Aqio was an obvious weakness, to the point that if he turned on Shesha that the Matorian would be able to slip into his room, into his bed, and kill him as easily as one could a sleeping child. It was terrifying and yet he still hadn't done anything to protect himself against Aqio.

What could he do though? The guy was loyal at the moment, not to mention that he was... fond of Shesha, to the point of telling him as much despite what Shesha felt about such things. He was daring on top of loyal he supposed, stubborn too because despite him trying to chase Aqio off as well as trying to send him off to his family but neither worked. Instead Aqio stuck around and Shesha had kept him around, fool that he was. So what did he want to do going forward? Normally in the past when a patron or lover got annoying or too clingy he would just walk away. Not with Aqio though, half because he didn't really take to being chased off or banished and half because he didn't think that he actually wanted him to go away for real. Sure, he'd been upset with him, had told him to get lost, but he would have been... sad... if he was gone.

Sad? That was a strange thought, wasn't it? He hadn't really been sad before when he lost Lady Alhana to her new puppy boy toy, he hadn't been all that sad when he'd left the woman he'd been with before Lady Alhana, and he wouldn't really be that sad to see the 'old man' go as useful as he was. Why did the idea of losing Aqio make him feel that way though? As much as he would like to blame it on Aqio, to say that it was because he was useful as a personal assassin he worried that it wasn't just that.

He'd come to like him, hadn't he? A thought that had him lifting a hand to rub it against his face, "Such a pain." He muttered to himself before he set to looking around. He was out here on a walk, shopping around the marketplace, but somehow he had a feeling that the little fish was out there somewhere watching him. It was something that made him feel... good. That he was out there protecting him from those that Shesha had annoyed up to his point was something that he liked. At the same time he was a tad bit frustrated by it at the same time given that he'd allowed himself to get injured in Shesha's name not that long ago, something that grated on him upon learning of it. It still did to a degree, though the anger had subsided with time.

Giving a sigh he started walking again, one hand lifting to toy with a lock of his wavy red hair. He found himself really wondering what he should do when it came to Aqio. It really seemed as though the more he thought about it the more that it felt as though what he felt should do and what he wanted to do were actually two very different. Aqio was dangerous for him because the little fish could very well worm his way into Shesha's heart, something that scared him like nothing else. Despite that fear though he didn't want to seriously chase him off. It showed that he was a huge fool he told himself as he continued along through the market place, calling out, "I know that you're out there, little fish. You might as well just join me."

He'd never decide what to do if he continued to allow his mind to chase itself in circles like a perzi chasing a ball. He figured spending more time with him would help. Even though it might just help him to get in more and more over his head with the little fish. There might come a day that he'd have to really get rid of the little fish for Shesha's own good. For now though he wanted to keep the assassin at his side no matter how it might come back to bite him later.
