Eostre looked over at the wall, now filled with a lot more information. She stroked her chin, wondering where her clues fit in. She looked over them quietly, before writing her own notes. The blueblood looked over to where Kursha was standing, and walked over now that he wasn't as... occupied with some rowdy children. "So... have you found anything else interesting, Mr. Vidari?" she asked casually. "I haven't found anything I was hoping for, but I did find some good gossip fodder."

She hadn't found any cameras, and was hoping he might have found some.

"For instance, now I've got a bit of a theory about why Epratt was killed... Seems he owed someone some beetles,"she said, showing him a scrap of paper she found. "I found this in a green pair of shorts in the training block, which makes me think Erilyn's gotta be involved..."She thought about the cage, which apparently had been there a while, according to the wall facts. "Epratt's a hunter right? Maybe he was going to pay Erilyn for the mutantbloods, so he could hunt them or something like that." She shrugged. It was an idea. And a tad more interesting than just plain blackmail.

Tierte cowered quietly in the rumpus room for quite a while. She didn't like being in the other rooms anymore. Who knows who could be watching her now? She didn't want to talk to the highbloods, and especially didn't want to approach any who were surrounded by other scary highbloods. Still... she needed to do something. Intelligent trolls...? She was smart, wasn't she? Even though she chose to do something as dumb as coming to this party in the first place!

The shaking redblood walked slowly towards the seadweller, who just moments ago was surrounded. Why did she have to be a seadweller? She was so... intimidating. Even though she was only a child like herself. Tierte glanced at Eostre, who seemed too busy to talk to. Maybe if something happened, Eostre would at least try to stop them...? She shook her head. No, she couldn't trust her to help her if they were going to cull her. They were too high up the chain.

"Um... " Tierte started, tapping on the seadweller's shoulder gently. "I... you were looking for..." Oh god, she was messing it up, and she'd be culled, or put in the cage with the mutants, and they would cull her, or... Tierte took a deep breath and wrapped her blanket around her body, wishing she could just leave. With Lorata's attention, she nodded slightly, and winked. She would know what to do, right?

After a moment's hesitation, Tierte fled to the ablution block, breathing heavily. Oh god, she was going to die, wasn't she? If she stayed in here with the toilet they wouldn't bother her, and she could take a moment to be away from these scary highbloods and their screaming and murdering.

      [+] Kursha Vidari

Kursha was still bristling when Eostre approached him. As soon as she spoke however, he relaxed visibly. Crosshairs fading from his eyes, he gave her a grin. “Dee!” he exclaimed, greeting her with his usual lack of formality. He crossed his arms, at ease. Just who he had been hoping to see.

His smile faltered somewhat at the blueblood's report. Only for a moment though; a second later it was back in place. “Good to know about Epratt. I'll tell Al to add it to his chart.” With a glance back at the redblood, he rolled his eyes. Lowering his voice, he continued, “For now, we're avoiding drawing any conclusions, but the evidence seems to be pointing in that direction anyway...” A noose seemed to be tightening around the neck of their greenblooded host.

He gestured with his thumb over his shoulder at the wall. “Back there's my findings. Some interesting tidbits, but nothing too strange...” Arms crossed again, he drummed his fingers, looking thoughtful. Then his grin widened. “Actually, I guess I did find one thing. Eyes like these don't miss anything.” Reaching up, he tapped under his right eye. Hopefully that would be enough for Eostre to get the message.
Kursha continued. “I was thinking I might stay here for a bit and wrangle some more information out of folks. I've checked out the north and east outgrowth. I know a couple others have been to the south and west, but... maybe you'd catch something that they missed.” He winked.

Lorata rolled her eyes as Chiara made her last remarks and started away, but she'd relaxed since Kursha had cut in. Really, she'd never realized until tonight how ridiculous the blueblood really was. She obviously should have stuck to her lusus longer instead of insisting she didn't need them, she had lots to learn about her place. Watching the green chalk bounce off the back of Chiara's head, the seadweller giggled, content that the situation was settled. So when a tapping at her shoulder drew her attention, she turned with a smile.

Her eyebrows lifted. A redblood, she didn't know this one, but... "Oh! Yes, I'm still looking for information! Did you have some you wanted to give us? We can put it on the wall for you!" She seemed hesitant to go on, though, so Lorata stepped in closer and reached for her hands, hoping the friendly gesture would get her to open up. It wouldn't be any good if she just stood there in awe of her the whole time without saying anything! She cast a quick glance towards the others to make sure no one would see before slipping the parcel into Tierte's hands.

And then, suddenly, the redblood was gone. Lorata watched her disappear towards the ablution block with a confused blink. Huh. "Maybe she didn't have any information after all?"

On one hand, Kursha was the superior in terms of rank and age. On the other hand, Chiara was a blueblood. Though, Aconan supposed that Kursha was indirectly defending the seadweller, who outranked everyone except her Majesty, so that made sense. Yes. She was quiet as the argument took place, standing next to Lorata with a puzzled expression. It just. Why would you insult a seadweller? They were obviously superior. Unless...Aahh, perhaps the blueblood was blackflirting! Which still wasn't very appropriate. This was a murder investigation!

And then the small redblood approached with a blanket. Aconan frowned. Why was she so nervous? I mean, of course the seadweller was highblooded, but if you were assisting the investigation, you should repo- oh look, they ran off.

Hm. That was suspicious. Aconan decided to check on them - nominally to see if they were alright, and in actuality to see if they had information they should report. Trailing after Tierte to the ablutionblock, she knocked on the door and spoke loudly.

"Are you okay, redblood? Did you want to impart information? If you feel uncomfortable interacting with someone so far above you on the spectrum, I would be happy to act as an intermediary. It's important we find out any information that could solve this crime."

Whilst she was doing so, she thought about the questions she'd put to Puchen, earlier...

"Aww, your so sweet Elidae. Always doing your best for everyone."

Chiara's words brought nothing but a stinging pain in her pumpbiscuit and were a clear display of ignorance towards her attempt to cool the situation. Maybe Chiara wasn't as nice as she thought...? Feeling an unusual grip on her shoulder, Elidae turned her attention to Kursha wide-eyed, who was now moving her away from the blueblood. “Uh-“ She opened her mouth to protest, but quickly snapped it shut. No, she shouldn’t say anything, but that didn’t mean she agreed with any of this. Taking a small step back, Elidae attempted to clear out of the way, but close enough to hear every bit of Kursha’s threatening words to Chiara, and the retaliation. She winced and squeezed her eyes shut.

Cracking an eye open, she watched the blueblood make her exit with some tall redblood, the corners of her mouth twitched, threatening a frown as fought hard to keep the buoyant demeanor, Suddenly, a crack was heard, and a piece of olive chalk went straight to the back of Chiara's head. There was a giggle. Glancing at Lorata, Elidae brought a gloved hand to her mouth to hide her smile, but the guilt was beginning to set in.

She liked Lorata and Kursha. A lot. Considered them friends, even. But wasn't Chiara also her friend? The nasty words she said to Lorata about Kursha made her nervous, nauseous even. She tried to hide the shame from showing on her face. She felt like a bad friend.

After taking a moment to adjust her composure, Elidae peeked over Lorata's shoulder, suddenly donning a bright smile for the redblood that approached the seadweller, noticing they certainly looked anxious. Elidae could relate. But before she could get in a word, the redblood fled the scene. Elidae could also relate. "Maybe! I'm sure they'll come back!" she assured Lorata, twirling around to head over to the wall.

Staring up at all the scribbled writing, she put her hands on her hips and chewed on the side of her mouth, mulling over the information. In situations like these, it made Elidae realize she wasn't the brightest of trolls and easily confused herself, as she literally had no idea what most of these things meant. That was okay though. In her company were lots of smart trolls. Kursha, Lorata, uhh, other trolls in the room. Though, it did bother her to a degree that she wasn't really helping. She cleared her throat.

“I’m… going to see if I can find more information...!” She suddenly announced, though perhaps not loud enough for everyone to hear, only to herself. Silently, Elidae made her escape out of the central hivestem, desperately hoping her excuse was enough to warrant her leave without anyone’s complaint.

Eostre nodded with a smile, ignoring the silly nickname. "Makes sense. I was just thinking aloud." She adjusted her mask, looking at the redblood he gestured to. She knew him vaguely from the Old Hemisect battles, didn't she? She turned back to Kursha when he spoke again., eyes sparkling.

"Sounds like a lovely plan, Vidari. Hopefully you don't catch too much trouble with the children again. I know what a pain wrigglersitting is,"
she said, glancing towards Tierte as she ran into the bathroom. "But if they can help, that will be nice,"she said."I think I'll try the basement. That seems like a logical place for there to be... some missed items. I'll let you know what I find, dear!"

Eostre started her way out of the hive, but stopped outside the ablution block. She knocked on the door. "Tierte darling, when you're done in there you should come see me and we can discuss your clues! You have to share them anyway," she said, and left the central hivestem.

-----

After her investigation into the basement, Eostre returned, a light smile on her face. She hadn't found much really, but the more clues she had the better, right? Especially early on where each new piece could lead to an entirely different conclusion! The basement had a few noteworthy items, like the cage of mutantbloods, and the redblood Officer...

"Kursha! It was a bit dark down there but I think I was able to find something interesting besides Sir scaring the mutants half to death,"she said, fiddling with her gloves and stepping up a bit too close to him. "But at least it's not a lot darker, that would certainly be... a sight," Eostre laughed quietly, and placed a hand on his chest. She slipped a new folded piece of paper into his coat with a gentle pat, another simple message. FOUND THE SWITCH, READY WHEN YOU ARE.

Pulling away, she gave a wink.

The redblood and greenblood were both being, well, incredibly reticent - but that didn't really matter. Alifax could review his notes while he waited for them to answer, and, well - there was quite a bit to review. With any luck some of this might be illuminating.

He shot a glare at the blueblood who'd just written more on the wall, though. While some of the information was interesting, it was still lacking in detail. Was the training dummy also in the armory? Or...training block?

Well. He was going to wait to update his information until after he had more of it.

For the second time that night, the entire hive was plunged into darkness. It lasted a few heartbeats - and then the lights popped back on. Unlike the first time, no bodies immediately dropped to the floor. As if on some kind of cue, there was a crackle and pop from speakers that had been set up around the hive. They were, presumably, originally installed to trolls when events that evening were taking place, as they seemed to be on the same system as the one Awassi had used at the beginning of the night. The voice that came out of them, however, wasn't the greenbloods.

"Everyone return to the central hive, right now. I don't care if you got your hands around someone's throat, or are dragging the culler out into the light as we speak. There is a real important feelings emergency going on, and if it doesn't get sorted out right this instance, everyone in this hive is going to get to join in." The empress's tone was heavy with aggravation, a slight edge of sarcasm, and the flat monotone of a slowly breaking temper. In the background, a petulant, distressed stream of complaints could be vaguely heard.

All trolls have gathered in the central hivestem.
The third hour of the party has begun.
Your first move out of the central hivestem this hour does not loose you an investigation.

It is (also) a new ooc day! All investigations have been reset to 3.
Clues posted in the central hivestem will be pmed out shortly.

- All clues sent.

Some noted reminders:
Please remember that you lose an investigation if you switch Outgrowths between party hours!
Please also remember that 100 words are required for EACH investigation that you do.
Finally, please be aware of the players and NPCs when entering a room and be mindful of their presence when you RP! Not only is it good etiquette, there are certain mechanics that rely on being mindful of character interactions.

“SLANDER!! LIBEL!! What trickery is this?!”

An irate purpleblood stomped his feet repeatedly. Gerard Rutven was alternating between covering his face, clenching his fist and sighing, about ready to blow. He stood in front of the wall – the reason, to him, was clear. He tapped the wall with his gloved hands hard enough to hear the sharp knocking in the next Outgrowth over.

“rumOr Haz It geraRd's cOLOr bLOOd Is nOt wHat we tHInk It Is bEcaUze tInted gLazzez"

Gerard’s mouth curled into a frightful yowl. “Who!! Did this! Who could have done this to me? This is absolute slander! This information is false and whichever of you uneducated, unrefined rustbloods wrote it should step forward so I can lash you myself! The nerve! Come forth at once!”

He stomped back and forth, growling in sort of a high pitched buzzing noise. Gerard stopped, put a hand on one of his elbows and made a sweeping hand gesture in front of his face. “No… No, I am simply too outraged to remember my manners… Oh, dear…! Why me?”

Swiveling, he transitioned his hand to rest thoughtfully under his chin. Still irate, but more composed. His stance was beveled, heels clicked tight together. “I’m not saying another word until this lie is erased from the wall. This investigation is completely bunk, and whoever is spreading this lie should be ashamed. Attacking a highblood… How dare you.”

Slumped in a chair, one finger tapping on the side of a glass, Regina had clearly decided that whatever the risks of being poisoned herself, it was worth it. Stone-facedly sipping on a glass of sparkling faygo, the queen was a portrait of slightly exaggerated self-control. It was a toss-up over if this was because of Gerard's dramatic interruption, or solidarity with his cool-blooded outrage. The box of chalk was sitting in her lap, with the lid closed, clearly off limits. No one would be writing anything on the wall until this was resolved. Not to mention - his petulant babbling and loud irate wails of self-righteous indignation would make it impossible for any troll to get any quiet thinking done. It looked like the activities in this room were currently stalled until things were dealt with.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 17, 2015 7:30 pm

It honestly hadn't taken long to get back to the Central Hivestem, but it was definitely much more noisy that she last remembered it being, what with—Rutven, it was Rutven right? Eostre seemed to know them better—throwing a little bit of a... fit. Who had slighted the purpleblood adult? Why was he even up in arms? Sarcel blinked slowly, eyes scanning the room and all the other trolls that had begun to re-congregate.

Something bubbled inside of her then. It wasn't unfamiliar, but she hesitated to call it anger; annoyance? Irritation? They were supposed to be solving a murder, weren't they? She hadn't been terribly involved with the other trolls yet tonight, save for Tamiya and Eostre, but she had assumed the others were taking this... somewhat seriously, weren't they?

Over the cacophony of Rutven's woeful cries, Sarcel chanced a glance at what was already on the board. Even if they weren't allowed to write for the moment, she found it important to glance over the information they already had. Of course, she saw it then, the rumor.

Okay, maybe it was a little bit of anger.

"G-Guys?" Her voice was still soft, custom to Sarcel, not out of the ordinary. Still... this board, this method of sharing information for the murder... whether the information was right or not...

"G-GUYS!"

Her voice had squeaked a little as she tried to rise it over the voice of the flabbergasted purpleblood, and for a moment she didn't worry about over stepping her boundaries or making herself look like a fool. No, that would come later, surely.

"W-Why are we writing gossip on the board?!" It wasn't just that one comment, that one very incriminating comment. There were others to that lingered less as factual and more as juicy hearsay.

"What we n-need are facts!" Her cheeks were flushed blue with nervous indignation, though it scarcely matched that of Gerard's. She bit her tongue for a second, feeling like she would only be repeating what Rutven was stating; she needed something better, more rallying...

She shook her head, "What we need now... i-isn't to be p-proding at other t-trolls like this! We're all supposed t-to be working t-together. E-Even if we n-need to be suspicious... t-there's good reason! B-But we can't just throw s-stuff around a-at each other before w-we get something more c-concrete! And especially t-this!" she gestured to the line in question, the one Gerard was so in arms about, "Gossip. Has. No. Place. Here!"

Sarcel huffed a little, finally calming herself a little. "I-It's important to speculate, b-but can we keep this sort of thing to o-ourselves? A-At least that much?"

Hazmas sat down on the floor in front of the board and looked up at the redblood pensively. His first thoughts were those like 'Who cares so long as it's up there?' but Alifax did have a point. As intangible as information was, it was a material, and materials needed to be organized. He nodded, acknowledging the redblood's statement, though he wondered if all he had to write would fit in Alifax's columns. Better to just let him write in those facts.

"Hmm. Other than the hall being a mess, I didn't find much else," he confessed with a shrug. "I know Comedi, Awassi, and Rutven were there, but I got too caught up in following the tracks to ask them anything. Ended up in the South Outgrowth's trophy block, where you were. The wrapper I found was stuck to the bizarre workmanship of that taxidermied high art. Ohhhh, high art."

Hazmas put a hand to his face and shook his head as if bemoaning another trolls' life choices. Although the greenblood did consider himself inventive, that statue definitely stretched the plausible definition of "creativity". However, his obvious displeasure for their hosts taxedermied decor was cut short when Her Majesty's announcement blared from the overhead. He grimaced and fiddled with his right spongeclot.

'Not that some of us aren't right here,' he thought, trying to shake away the slight ringing now infesting his spongeclots. Unfortunately, the ringing only intensified when a high pitch shriek of rage filled the room. The young troll grimaced, clapping his hands against the sides of his head, Gerard's voice like nails on a chalk board. It was like listening to Eridia as a male adult!

Grimacing from the noise, Hazmas stood up and took a breath. Something had to be said. But with so many adult highbloods, lowbloods and midbloods physically capable of culling were standing in the room.. and he didn't have enough clogwind to blind them all should things go south. He let out a low set of frightened hoots to his lusus who edged closer to him, her wings raised, ready to pounce on her charge and carry him up to the rafters if needed.

The young greenblood swallowed his nerves, took a step forward and raised his hand.

"Begging your Majesty's sincerest pardon," he said, performing a quick bow as he projected his voice so that he could be heard across the room, "I'm Hazmas Pochim, and I don't think the rumor is ungrounded."

He looked from Gerard to Regina, obviously struggling to keep his nerve, and continued. "Kursha Vidari discovered traces of blue blood in the Eastern Outgrowth armory block that, as far as I understand, hasn't been identified as belonging to anyone at the party. If the information gathered by whichever redblood wrote the message is false, that means more than just mutant bloods have crashed the party and someone else is here. But if the information is true, then Mr. Rutven has a bunch of explaining to do."

He raised his head a little higher, not out of pride, but in an attempt to not to crumple into a heap of terrified green goo.

"With your Majesty's permission, I suggest Mr. Rutven show his blood color with a blood sample or the temporary removal of his spectacles in order lay these rumors to rest."

With that, the young greenblood bowed again and returned to the chalk board, careful to keep his back to the chalk board. Using his over sized sleeve, Hazmas wiped the sweat from his face and made ready to bolt in case a certain high-pitched purple blood decided to wreak his vengeance on him.

Someone dared to write that up. Someone in this very room dared to write that about Gerard. Even with her new injuries, she clenched her fists. Rage build up slowly inside, her bloodpusher pumped fast. "How...." She muttered. Hadn't she spent all her time convincing others he was innocent, and now someone decided to write trash on the wall.

"WHO DARED TO WRITE THAT UP?" Eridia said, her face showed the disgust and hatred she was feeling. Gerard was a highblood! A refined one! Whoever wrote it must've been wrong or aware of their actions. Eridia was more than willing to help find who wrote that. "WELL?"

She heard the blueblood stutter, at least she was on the right track even if she stuttered a lot. Indeed there was no place for gossip at the moment.

"I agree with you! This unimaginable, unexpected, and so rude!" Eridia wanted to approach the adult but it was better to lure out the lowblood for the time of being. After all how could she interrupt his wails and theatrics?

"Mister Rutven would never lie about his blood color! Why is everything bad falling on him?" Eridia was as almost as exaggerated as him, yet that didn't mean she would mellow down when the culprit had been found. Her face was purple as she shouted with all her might. "He isn't involved in any of this and the lowblood... ooooh the lowblood who did it should get forked!"

Regina turned her head slightly towards the greenblood kid, and gave them a long, flat look. "There's plenty of bluebloods in this party, and plenty of reasons to poke yourself in a room full of pointy objects. If you want to take off the commissioners glasses - " she gave a small, humourless grin " - you might want to consider your own blood colour first. Or don't, and enjoy getting deservedly punched through the wall. I don't care either way, just sort this out." Waving her free hand, she takes another sip, not bothering glancing over to Rutven's presumably livid face.
