xxxxEast Outgrowth || Armory
Strolling over to his blue-blooded friend, Hazmas grinned at her complaint. "Well, he is a clown," he chuckled, "so that might have something to do with it."
Hazmas listened intently as she shared her clues with him. "I'm not surprised. Sir's uneasy too. I think she's expecting a violent confrontation at the end of this." He gave a sour look at the mention of Gerard but it quickly shifted to a look of suspicious curiosity. "Speaking of, I haven't seen Glasses since the last hour. Wonder where he went."
He paused quirking an eyebrow as she turned to the juggalo and warned him about fish. 'Fish? What do fish have to do with-.' He stopped when he noticing a younger seadweller step neatly around Chiara, as if to avoid physical contact with her, and make her way to Comedi. 'Ah. Well that answers that,' he thought and was about to ask Chiara if she knew the highblood when another equally unexpected hand papped his sniffnode. He stared and blinked, his question suddenly lost amongst his stunned surprise. As his think-sponge was resetting -again- Hazmas felt Chiara throw her arms around him, adding to his bewilderment.

A pap and a hug - things he'd only ever received from Machim, were quickly becoming a trademark greeting of his new high-blooded friend.

'Well, I guess this is a thing now,' he thought, bemused. "Alright," he replied as she released him, "I'll catch up with you in a bit. I want to ask Comedi some questions first. See you at the hive-stem!"
Little did he know that one of his pockets was touch emptier than before.

He waved goodbye to Chiara and stepped further into the training block. He didn't know what it looked like before, but it definitely looked like a mess now. It was then that he noticed movement over by the training dummies and spotted Alifax. He remembered Alifax's clue table diagram and wondered if the redblood would even be remotely interested in working with him after the greenblood's disastrous display earlier. More than likely not.

'Better keep to what I'm good at,' he thought glumly and approached Comedi and the seadweller. He hadn't caught what she said, but what he saw made him a little concerned. Something had to be wrong if even the juggalo's make up couldn't mask the purple flush in his face. The youngster tensed. Was he ill? Was he angry? Did he just over-exert himself? If he was either of the last two, then he was pretty sure Comedi was the reason for the mess.

'Right.... proceed with caution then,' Hazmas thought and opened his squawk gaper.

"You, uh, you doing alright, Mr. Comedi?" the greenblood asked and frowned at the juggalo's response. What Comedi said and the youngster saw were two completely different things. His "I'm fine" seemed to translate for Hazmas into "I'm not alright, but is none of your business." The little troll frowned, glancing over at the seadweller to see if she'd caught it too.

"So," he pressed uncertainly, "seen anyone strange in here?" The juggalo's brusk, if not borderline irate answer made Hazmas pause. 'Moiral...'

"You mean Erilyn?" he asked, recalling his last conversation with the greenblood. "I think, you just missed her. She was here earlier, though I was only able to catch a word with her on her way out. She looked kinda sick to me though - probably from all the stress goin' on." He frowned and folded his arms, his brow creased with a hint of worry for their hostess. He looked over at Comedi, hoping to see a reaction beyond the neutral deadpan expression he'd been wearing since the party began, and remembered Erilyn's worry for him. A light went on in Hazmas' thinkpan, leading another question to form on his lips.

"Uh, Mr. Comedi? If you don't mind one more question, I was wondering.. Are you very involved with the military?" he waited with baited breath as Comedi turned to him. At first he thought he was going to get some sort of "Snub off" type answer but what happened left the young greenblood as bewildered as Chiara's first nose pap.

Comedi had given him a long stare before reaching out and gently squeezing the end of the greenblood's nose. "Honk, I've captured your sniffnode," he said and pulled his hand back, wiggling his thumb between two fingers.

The action was so bizarre, so unexpected, so silly, the youngster couldn't help letting out a snort of laughter. Just the action itself would be comically out of place, but coupled with the Juggalo's deadpan expression left the youngster in stitches. Quickly, Hazmas tried covering his mouth and nose in hopes of suppressing it, but his attempt did nothing more than slightly muffle his sudden fit of laughter. Unable to talk, Hazmas sat down on the floor, trying to regain his composure.

"I'm sorry, your Mirthfullness, I just-" the green blood tried to say before cracking up again, caught in a torrent of giggles that just wouldn't let him go.

Interrogated?: Comedi - "How are you doing?", "Have you seen anyone strange in here?", "Are you still very involved in the military? "

As Lorata spoke to Comedi, Chiara opened her big mouth and predictably spewed some ridiculously awful nonsense. Did bluebloods (except Sarcel, she tacked onto the thought dutifully, because that was becoming habit) ever think before they spoke? Didn't their lusii teach them anything? She was more than beginning to think they didn't deserve their place in the hemospectrum. But maybe there were more exceptions than just Sarcel. Or maybe these awful ones were the exceptions, and they just needed to be weeded out.

She let the thought settle in her mind, something to keep considering, and then she turned her head to glare at Chiara and her little friend. The greenblood who hadn't known to keep quiet during the central situation, apparently. She couldn't decide whether that was a surprise or not, but she leaned towards the not. "Why don't you just shut up and go pretend to be useful somewhere else, Chiara?" She snapped back, and she was dimly aware of MeduMa's eyes on her and how easy it would be to ask her lusus to take care of the problem then and there.

But unlike some trolls, she actually had a point. Chiara could go be useless if she wanted. Lorata was going to finish her mission. As she looked back to Comedi, her scowl turned back into a smile. "I hope she didn't bother you too badly before I got here! I-" She paused, blinking as the greenblood came back over, and could only stare as he began talking to the adult. The smile slid off her face. Was he doing this on purpose?

She listened to the first question's answer- Have you seen anything strange- and then gasped in protest as he asked about the military. "I was going to ask him that!" And then Comedi's hand was reaching out to grab the greenblood's nose, and- She blinked, as caught off guard by the silly reaction as Hazmas had been, and then despite herself began to giggle. Except, oh- She was still mad at him, she couldn't laugh with him!

With a little huff that hitched on a laugh she hadn't quite stamped out yet, she reached down to begin the process of tugging Hazmas back to his feet. "Come with me for a minute!" She waved to Comedi, hardly a polite way excusing themselves but at least she'd tried, and then pulled the boy with her over towards the bin of sparring gear without even listening for any possible complaint. She gave it a quick glance over, just to feel like she hadn't been completely sabotaged in investigating, and then turned to frown at Hazmas, hands on her hips.

"So! Did Chiara tell you to take over my interrogation, is that it? Because if you're picking her side, you're on the wrong one." She seemed about to go on, but then belatedly she registered Alifax's voice. She squinted at the greenblood. "How long have you been here? Can you tell him who was here?"

Then she turned her head and raised her voice, the tone much lighter even though it was louder. "I know Erilyn was in the armory earlier, but I'm not sure about here!" She made a little motion, reminding Hazmas she expected him to answer as well.

You make your way to the athletic mats, which have been tossed here and there. They are covered in white smudges and scuff marks. You take a look. [!]

You seek information from the dummies. Most of them have been knocked over. You investigate the crime scene. [!]

In the doorway you pause and look around, trying to take in the entire block. You notice something nearby on the floor. [!]

Alifax nodded at Lorata. "That's helpful," he said, because it actually was. He jotted down the note about Awassi's location with care, though. Although he supposed they'd know where the things in their own hive belonged...but maybe someone else had meddled, causing them to become confused? You never knew. But Comedi was here now, too... "I'm...probably going to update my charts if the chalk is free, but if anyone has anything else that's safe for the public to be aware of, you'll know where to find me."

Ҕᾁʐɱᾁʂ Ҏӫςɧῒɱ
xxxxEast Outgrowth || Armory
Today was apparently the day of Unexpecteds, and being hauled to his feet by a seadweller only added to hit. Still struggling his way out of the giggle fit, Hazmas listened to the barrage of questions. The purple-blood's questions about Chiara and the seriousness in her voice helped subdue the the green-blood's giggles and replace them with a familiar curiosity and confusion.

"Chiara?" he repeated, echoing his inner confusion. "Investigation? Sides? What are you talking about?" It was clear the spell of laughter had worn off, leaving Hazmas feeling quite irritated at being questioned so abruptly. Now he knew how the adult guests felt like. But as she questioned him, puzzle pieces began to click in his head. Both Chiara and this highblood knew each other, both had animosity towards each other - which meant...

"Oh no," he moaned, running his fingers through his hair as he let his head roll along his shoulders. "You two have a feud, don't you? That's how you and Chiara know each other, isn't it? Awwwww and I'm caught right in the middle of it..." He groaned again, briefly diverting Machim's attention from MeduMa and the bulky Juggalo across the room.

"Look," Hazmas continued, trying to be as honest and even with the seadweller as he could, "the only reason I'm here is to find clues as to what's going on. You know, the murder? Awassi mentioned being Comedi's moiral, and since she seemed pretty worried about him, I figured I'd better ask to see if they knew anything. Chiara just happened to tag along with me."

He paused, his frown becoming uncertain as she called out to Alifax. Noticing the high-blood's gesture, Hazmas gave a low sigh.

"Uhh, well, I've been here since Awassi left and as far as I know Awassi was the only one here before Schrad and Comedy showed up," he said with a shrug. "As far as I know, nobody but Sir - uh, Schrad was in the west outgrowth. So I'm betting the others were either in the north or south outgrowth. Other than that, I've got nothin' for you."

He gave Alifax an apologetic shrug before turning his attention back to the highblood, his eyes narrowed. "Actually.. I think I saw you talking with Erilyn right before I did. Yeah, I heard you ask how she was doing and figured I'd better wait until you two were finished before talking to her myself. That was you wasn't it?"

Chiara Moteku
xxxxxResponding
Chiara thought long and hard about where to go. She really did not want to go back the way she had just came. But that was the way of things, making life hard was how it always went. As if in a merry-go-round, Chiara retraced her steps. As she passed the training block she saw Lorata bullying Hazmas. That got her blood boiling. Since when did that sea dweller think it was okay to simply bully whom ever she felt like? Oh right, since she wiggled out of her gross slimy cocoon. Chiara stomped around the armory, her anger helping her to think up plans of revenge on the sea dweller. Chiara was doing her best to ignore Shishi just as well as Shishi was ignoring her. The blueblood circled the armory one more time, examining the annoying flickering light that was starting to get on her nerves. Chiara took a second to pause in front of the shining blade rack, quietly she messed with it for a second, then peered around to make sure no one noticed.

Psykgi listened to Comedi's responses, nodding in that special way she had developed to maximize the appearance of absolute interest. So it was a case of bad Faygo, huh. Well, since he was on the medical box, she couldn't do much more than smile and nod and commiserate. Though there was nothing she could do for Comedi medically, she figured he could use a distraction... and she could use some information. And he was certainly a daring one to distract.

Though... she was getting an awful lot of company with the whole investigation thing. Was that... ”Oh hiii, Lorata.” she greeted. Hmm – it was getting a little too crowded for this sick juggalo, she thought, so clearly if she wanted some information, she would have to ask.

Now.

Before he decided to capriciously do something as annoying as, oh, attacking her. Or breaking something... neither of which would help him with his situation, or her with hers. ”Oh gosh.” she said, ”So, the deceased... he seemed like quite a fellow! I was looking forward to hearing his stories!” less about the content, obviously... hunting lowblooded lusii and all that wasn't really her thing, for obvious reasons. Not that such a thing bothered her – oh no! Ma'am was impossible to kill off completely. Psykgi knew that she was unlikely to ever find herself an orphan! Plus, she made for a terrible trophy – tiny bugs and rot and all. ”Could you tell me a little bit about him? I'm sure he has all sorts of capriciously delightful facts about him – after all, he lived a long time... did you know him?” Apparently, he did!

She listened to his answer and... well, all right, she was somewhat cautious. Juggalos were unpredictable – delightfully, fascinatingly so, but still! It would be so hard to observe with a black eye, wouldn't it? Especially with her mask... ”And... could you possibly... tell me a little bit about Puchen? Perhaps? I'm sure theres more to her than, ah, that incident with our wonderful city, though its so much more capricious now, don't you think?” which wasn't usually the word she would use, but she did love her city, and it was much better. Which was, she supposed, why she was trying to get a little more information about Puchen...

She smiled and nodded at his comment – Life certainly did that unpleasant metaphor. Occasionally, it did it to her... but she just powered through it with a smile... A... wait... she quickly quashed the thought – it was not actually an image she wanted to keep in her mind.

”So, ah, I heard there were mutantbloods.... I was indisposed, as I mentioned earlier, but... Well, I... hmm.” perhaps it was best she not tell him she wanted to interview them to get a sense of the severely abnormal trollian mind, or have observed the reveal to record how trolls reacted to the abomination in their midst. So, she settled for something else: ”What do you think about them?” she asked...

Quote:
Continues Questioning Comedi!
What do you know about Puchen?
What do you know about Epratt?
What do you know about the Mutantbloods?

... and after that, she had to excuse herself to deal with her dripping face mask. As entertaining as the traditional flower trick was, it meant that her mask was ruined, and she would have to get rid of it. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted - she peeled it off her face, dried herself off, and stuck it in her purse - it could be re purposed later...

Lorata squinted at Hazmas a little longer, clearly trying to determine how much she believed his story, then nodded. "Well, if you're not on her side, then..." Her posture relaxed and her frown shifted into a pleasant smile. "Then that's good. Of course figuring out the murder is really important, but she's been obviously trying to get in our way for some reason right from the start, haven't you noticed?" She shook her head, a little cheer dropping out of her voice. "I know you at least heard those awful things she said. She just wanted to mess me up so I wouldn't learn anything useful."

The seadweller reached out to pat him gently on the arm, none of the force she'd used to tug him around present. "When you came over, I thought maybe she'd tricked you too. But looks like we're both on the same mission after all!" She tilted her head to glance back towards Comedi, and then paused, momentarily distracted by the redblood greeting her. Was that Psykgi? She lifted a hand to wave before looking back.

When she started again, her voice was still a little hushed but there was some definite excitement back in it. "Erilyn wanted us to keep an eye out for him, so we should work together to do it! If you find anything else out, you'll tell me, won't you? For the mission?" And then another realization struck and she gave a little giggle. "I completely forgot, I never even asked your name! Mine's Lorata, what's yours? We gotta know each other if we're going to solve this together, right?"

"It's Hazmas," the greenblood replied and stopped when he heard the announcement for everyone to return to the hive-stem. He grimaced and looked at the door. Time was up, the party was coming to a close - which meant if he wasn't fast he'd lose his last chance to pick up evidence.

"Yeah, she did," he said distractedly, "which is why I'm going to find the killer before they get a chance to do anything to his Mirthfulness."

He edged toward the door, glancing from it to Lorata and back again. "I'm gonna do a quick run through of the outgrowths to see if I can find anything before heading up to the hivestem. I'm pretty sure with all the commotion, things are less than pristine, however any evidence is better than no evidence. I'll meet you at the hivestem!"

He gave here a quick wave good-bye as he headed out to the other outgrowths. With any luck, he'll be able to net a few more clues before anything else happens.

Hazmas has left the East Outgrowth.

Oh no, was it already time to head back to the Central Hivestem? Lorata nodded along as the greenblood (Hazmas she knew now) spoke, and then watched him hurry off with a thoughtful hum. It had sounded a bit like he didn't mind sharing information with her, right? He was just going to go collect more of it first. So her attempt to drag him away from Chiara's side had definitely worked, hadn't it? He would help her, the way it was supposed to be.

She laughed, delighted with what she was sure was a victory, and turned to scan the room one more time as she started towards the door out of the training block. Would Comedi be alright here on his own? Considering the time, maybe the killer would be more worried about getting away now? Well, there wasn't much she could do about it anyway, since she needed to go to hear more information everyone had gathered.

Lifting a hand to wave to the adult again, she left the training block. Along the way back towards the central hivestem, the heavy doorway of the armory caught her eye again. She paused, considering it, and then poked her head in to glance that room over one last time too. After that, she left for real, leaving the east outgrowth behind.

After a few aginizing moments, Eridia entered the East Outgrowth. Had she searched for Gerard here? Oh how she missed the adult's presence. The child's shoulders slumped, she was truly alone. At least she was in the armory room, a place she could blow off some steam. Too bad she was off investigating Gerard's whereabouts. Shishi was in the room practically ignoring everyone by 'appraising' the weaponry. Normally Eridia would just ignore her, Schrad was only a redblood with military merits and what not. The child never cared for political affairs or anything that involved the military in the first place.

"Why did I even sign up for the whole culling-rebels-in-a-swamp thing?"

Eridia frowned, she was talking to herself. Their plan was working, the highblood needed to act fast before their plan got the best of her. So she decided to approached Schrad, heels dragging across the room. She greeted and smiled at her once she was by her side. "This place is nice. Tons of, uh, shiny weapons in here. Hopefully the killer won't misuse them."

An awkard silence appeared. No fret, she just needed to find something to talk about.

"Soooo.... Whaaaat's Gerard's deal recently?"
