Liam kept scrambling backwards, and the spiked undying kept advancing, dragging itself along on it's arms and broken legs in relentless pursuit of it's target.
His leg was throbbing at this point, face pale, and the panic was starting to show around the edges. That desperation might have helped though. It made him move faster, dragging himself away from the thing so he could aim one finally, solid kick to it's decaying face to send it sprawling bon the pavement at his feet.
With it dead, Liam just lay there a minute, chest heaving, sweat dripping down his brow, and leg bleeding. Waiting for his pulse to slow to something a little less staccato.

Shuddering, Austin poked through what was left to grab some abandoned junk among the remains. And grimaced at what he found. Food would have been preferable.
