With another snap of the beast's jaws Athene took another hit. In more pain she did an attack but it was less effective than before.

Boss HP: 13 Vremea's healing glow restored Keionx's strength and with a heroic growl she nearly flipped the beast over. Nearly. The beast thrashed out of her hands and away, leaving Keionx battered and muddy, but fine... right. Just fine.

Vremea dealt 3 damage.
BOSS HP: 13 - 3 = 10 Vremea was thankful she'd managed to get out of the way with just another bite. With one slam to its head, the yellowblood grinned widely and jump out of the way, releasing a sigh of relief.
HP: 26 - 1 = 25 HP

Even with the beast on her again, Athene still fought as hard as she could. Giving another swing, she watched with satisfaction as she damaged the monster.

Boss HP: 2 Keionx tried to grab for the beast again, but it gave her an evil, cold, reptilian stare and sideswept with ease. So, she hit it with a branch. It wasn't her sword, sure, but it worked. The branch broke against the swampbeast's head and keionx reclaimed her sword and prepared for a final blow... if indeed she was the one to take it.

Odette dealt 0 damage! Odette couldn't help but cry out for help as she found herself in the jaws of the swampbeast again, rolling desperately in the murky water. Frantically, she punched at the beast's snout until it released her, red blood pooling in the monster's mouth. She scrambled away in fear, clutching her injured leg. Odette HP: 9/20

BOSS HP: 2 - 3 = 0!!! With a final slam in between the eyes, Vremea managed to knock it out, but she stayed alert, still tense. "I-I think it is down, girls..."

It was done, the beast finally gone with the final blow from Vremea. Athene sighed with relief, taking in the surroundings newly vacated. The bones of the trolls from before crept into her with some shock, as she realized that could have been them if they hadn't been careful or hadn't been able to defeat this monster. Tiredly, she gazed at them, before catching a glimpse of something that sparkled in the moonlight among the tattered clothing. Moving forward carefully she dipped her hand in, closing on something hard. When she pulled it forward to look, a trinket was in her hand.
Well. At least something was good from the fight besides the beast being gone.

With a loud exhale, the yellowblood grabbed hard onto her scythe and rubbed her eyes, exhausted. It had taken a bit, but they had managed to take it down. They were safe! "W-we-- we should go, Scouts. It is... We might meet it's i-it's mate, if we stay too long..."

Keionx had no desire to meet the mate of that thing. Heroic fight or not, she needed to attend to other matters... namely her fellow scouts. She checked on their status, offering a hand to any of their number that might need an extra pair of strong shoulders to get them home... Of course, she wasn't doing so well herself, given that the injuries she had sustained in the caverns were starting to reopen, but in Keionx's book, the others always came first... After all, they were her wonderful, beautiful role models.

Odette held a hand to her leg, trying to stop the bleeding from the previous bite. There were bandages back at the mother grub caravan, surely. But Odette first had to make it that far. Waiting around wasn't going to do anyone any good. "We should move quickly," She suggested to her fellow scouts, "We all need to recuperate, but we can't do it here." Wordlessly, she boosted herself into the air, looking around the clearing. "I'll lead the way back," She offered, moving back towards their previous location. "We wouldn't want to step on anymore angry inhabitants," She said, floating off.
