"We are not going down without a fight!" she said abruptly, switching from the fearing ghoul to the fearsome one as she lunged at the dragon with a fiery blast.
The way she fought the dragon, one would think Piper was taking on something her size. Her courage seemed to soar to insane heights as she attempted to scale the thing, blasting various elemental bullets its way when she thought something was vulnerable. It wasn't the case, but they didn't particularly care.
Scrabbling up, Piper tried to run and gun as she hissed and snarled back at the dragon. Maybe communicating with it in its own garbled language would show it who's boss, surely.
But before she could truly do something spectacular in her own berserker state, the dragon took her down with great prejudice. Piper felt something lift off her as she hit the ground for the umpteenth time that battle, moaning weakly as the world spun. Her skin still prickled with feelings of paranoia and desperation to get up and run now that her opponent showed its superiority, but she couldn't make her body obey. As quickly as her second wind had come, it left--and painfully so.
Kushala Daora roared, the storm increasing in ferocity to surpass its temper. The dragon had struck down two; moments later the other two attackers followed suit.
One final roar could be heard before the beast took off, vanishing into the stormy heavens.
