Otto gave him a grin. "I think it'd be fun, don't you?"

The more he thought about it, the more he wanted to do it.
"All right, then," said Chance, giving a decisive nod. Otto's grin was infectious; one spread slowly across Chance's face as well, a happy feeling fluttering in his stomach. "After the shift ends, you can go get packed and ready and I'll figure out where we're going, and then we'll have ourselves a date."
He let go of Otto's hands and pressed them on either side of his face, bending to kiss him quickly on the lips.
"This sounds like an excellent plan."

He was excited. Excited to spend time away from the island, and to do so with Chance. Feeling bubbly and infectiously excited, he grinned up at the man after the kiss. With a playful whim, he stood on his toes and licked the tip of Chance's nose to be a brat. "It's an awesome plan." He added with a smirk. He then pulled away, wanting to check out the view for the remainder of the shift.

He made a face at the lick, but it was playful, Chance wrinkling his nose affectionately at Otto, eyes flickering with mischief. He lifted a hand and put it on top of Otto's head, fingers sifting affectionately down through his hair as he pulled away to look outside.
The rest of their shift - which was not particularly long, an hour or so at most - passed pleasantly without much incident, except for Chance making random, outrageous commentary about the hunters they could see passing below them every so often. When it was finally done, and they were back on the ground by the dormitory building, Chance bent and pecked a kiss to Otto's temple.
"Go get ready, and meet me in my room when you're done," he said with a smile, and then set off to do a bit of research.

Funny enough, Otto liked the game of ' make commentary of passer bys' the best during shifts. He gave Chance a nod before the parted ways in the dorms, hurrying off to his room to pack a bag. Not much was needed. Toothebrush, PJs, a change of clothes. The usual. It seemed silly to feel so excited over an overnight date night outside the island. But he was. He was so excited. He got himself changed into something other than a staple tshirt and sweats, and into something a little more attractive. Hurriedly stuffing various things into his back, he raced out of his room and over to Chance's. There was of course no rush, but Otto couldn't help himself. He arrived at Chance's door and let himself in.

During the time that Otto was packing, Chance was making rounds, first to the library (There was frustratingly no access to outside internet sources, but there were still people to talk to and the inttraweb was still a tiny bit useful. Kind of.), then back to his own room once he had the information he needed, practically buzzing with excitement.
A small duffel bag was pulled from his closet. Chance threw some things into it, somewhat haphazardly, and then caught sight of something hanging in the back of his closet, stuffed behind a row of sweaters. He tugged it out and examined it; it was, perhaps a little formal, but at the same time it was the first actual date off the island, and he was damned looking forward to it...
By the time the door opened and Otto came in, Chance was in the process of buttoning up the cuffs on his shirt, his duffel mostly packed. He turned his head to look over his shoulder to look at Otto, a smile breaking out across Chance's face.
"Hey, handsome," he said cheerfully. "Almost ready, I just have to get some pajamas."

Well s**t, Chance looked fine as Hell. "Well damn." Was all Otto managed to say in regards to his appearance. He was pretty sure he'd never seen the man fancied up nice like this before. Otto himself felt wearing jeans was about as fancy as he could get. Anything other than sweats or track pants, really. "Kay. I'm packed." Obviously. He leaned against the door and waited idly, whistling a tune.

His smile widened, Chance turning around fully to step towards Otto, still fiddling with his cuff buttons. "That's a nice greeting," he said cheerfully, and pecked a quick kiss to his lips before straightening again, finally having managed to button up his sleeve properly. "You look great, by the way."
It wasn't sarcasm, nor just an attempt at being nice, since this was Chance; his gaze swept appreciatively across Otto's figure before he ducked back into his closet, reappearing seconds later with a pair of shorts and an old teeshirt. He tossed them into his bag, quickly doublechecked everything, and then slung the duffel over his shoulder.
"All right," said Chance brightly, reaching for Otto's hand. "Let's go."

Otto took his hand firmly in his own and gave a nod, leading him out of the room. "So you asked around, then? Where to?"

"Yes, I did," said Chance with a satisfied tone to his voice as the two of them made their way down the hall. "I had to do a bit of digging, since, well the lack of internet occasionally puts a damper on things."
Chance pushed open the stairwell door with his free hand once they'd reached the end of the corridor. "But I did manage to have a rather illuminating conversation with a tech on duty in one of the Life labs. She let me know of a place that apparently fits what we're looking for - quiet atmosphere, good bar food, not too busy or ridiculous."
He stepped out onto the field.
"So our current destination for the dinner is Boston, Massachusetts," Chance said with a smile. "It's called the City Bar. But we'll be dropping off our stuff at the Lennox Hotel first, it's about a block and a half from the bar."

"Sounds like a plan." Otto murmured back. He let idle banter run the course as they walked through the path towards the lighthouse portals. Mostly about what Boston would be like, and what he wanted to eat while they were there. Cajun fries and a bigass burger seemed to be on Otto's top choices. "Do bars still have arcades?" He asked idly as they arrived. "I wanna kick your a** at a racing game."

He gave a laugh as they stepped into the lighthouse, Chance moving past the bored looking tech on duty to type in the coordinates at the screen. "I think some still do, depending on where you go. This one is a little more upscale, but still maintaining the comfort so you don't feel like you're supposed to be in formal wear at some ridiculous, stiff party. I picked it because apparently it's supposed to be quiet and comfortable, without large crowds. But," he added, slinging the bag more securely over his shoulder. "If that's not what you want, if you want something more laid back and fun, her other recommendation was for a place called the 21st Amendment, which is apparently casual and funky, but tends to be a little more crowded in terms of people."
Chance stepped back and towards the portal and smirked at Otto. "Also I'm pretty sure I'd kick your a**."

"Honestly, I'm up for either of them. Sittin' at dinner with you is the main goal, anyway." He snorted at Chance's confidence, giving the man an incredulous brow. "Dude, do you even game? I bet you know as much about video games as you do movies." He smirked and stepped into the portal.

He did like the idea of just being with Otto, Chance giving him a smile that turned into a smirk a second later.
"I happen to know a lot about video games, thank you very much," he said delicately as he stepped through.
" - and by a lot, I mean none at all."
On the other side of the portal, it was a balmy night, the temperatures not too low, nor too high, a soft breeze rifling through the air. It was a tad humid - but, well, Chance supposed, it was right on the edge of the states. They were right in the heart of the city, which was just starting to come to life for it's evening crowd, and had wound up in an alleyway a short distance from their hotel.
"Hold onto me, it can get a little crowded," said Chance, making sure he had a firm grip on Otto's hand before he led them from the alleyway. After a quick glance to the right, then to the left, he gave a nod and went right.
"Hotel first, it's this way."

"I knew you were bullshitting me." Otto grinned, feeling like he'd won somehow. The city was amazing. Otto gripped Chance's hand so they'd not get separated, but found his eyes wandering at the buildings and lights as they walked. "Mmkay.." He murmured idly, distracted by the surroundings of a strange new city.
