Ruth had managed to grab those glasses but they started to go gray the instant she put them on. Oh well. It was the thought that counted, yes? The blonde reaper stuck close to Andrew. Or she tried her jacking best to stick close to Andrew, one arm flailing while the other kept her skirt from billowing up. Candlejacking hell! Nobody had better try to look up her skirt! Thankfully no one seemed interested in it thanks to all the other distractions available to them.
It was unfortunate that she didn't have wings because they would have come in real handy as they fell. But then again maybe not when she felt the ground make an impression on her. (Or the other way around.) She checked herself, verified that she was whole and her FEAR core had not been damaged. Already they were being ushered into the foreign world and like a good minion she tried to keep up with her Boss.
Unfortunately, Andrew seemed more interested in fireworks and was making full advantage of his wings. She instead started to walk a little closer to Uru, partly because the Violet determined it was appropriate action.
Uru's head jerked up by the explosion overhead. It would appear the festivities were already ongoing. It didn't take long after having following the group did his name was called and the vanishing of Andrew's flame-lit tail. 'Uru Fireworks' as a declaration. He huffed, pocking his fists into his jacket as he turned back to look at the blond reaper and Camilla.
"Shouldn't leave that one unattended." He muttered as he scuffled down the hill toward where Andrew had disappeared off to.
Didn't take long until he found the flame demon stuffing something into a container of sorts. Looking around, Uru found that they were making fireworks here at a stand and that was what Andrew was doing. Curious, he ran his hand through the powder that was necessary. If he recalled his reading correctly, this was what ignited to created the explosion. There were other colored powdered and such. Before long, he found his hands out of his pocket and shoveling this and that into the container. A decent size explosion if the measurements were right, the colors ranging from blues, whites, reds, yellows, and green. It would suffice, he thought. Would fit right in with the exploding sky.

Ruth was doing her best to blend in without standing out too much. A small firework was deemed adequate and three basic colors of red, yellow, and orange (because there were no gray fireworks) were added. She may not have wings or an affinity for fire but she watched someone who was and spent a not-small amount of time with them. So it was relatively easy to mimic Andrew when he released his firework.
The beads were a surprise and somewhat unwelcome but Ruth forced a smile and hastily tried to remove them before anyone realized the colors were leeching out of the beads.
Uru pulled his rocket to the field, placing it like everyone else had. He knelt low, covering the wick with his large form. Placing it between his fingers, he willed his flames to gather at the tip. To his amusement, the wick flickered to life sparking along the rope to the rocket. Quickly, he scrambled back to where Andrew and Blondie were standing to watch his go off. To his disappointment, however, it didn't explode like Blondie's or Andrews, it simple went up with a loud wizzling sound.
"Either I measured wrong... or my flame doesn't work as well..."
Petro kept an eye out for his classmates, glad that their numbers weren't that high. Those who'd already clustered together he gave a cursory glance, but he remembered a few students had yet to find a partner. The third year monster horse took it upon himself to act as unofficial-big bother keep an eye out for them.
The sensation of falling was not pleasant for Petro. He really didn't like it. He'd rearranged his grip on Carlos, making sure the younger boil would not take the brunt of the impact. Tro braced himself for the encounter with the ground, which thankfully did not result in fractured bones or bruises. He really shouldn't have expected any but all these Field Trips had left him somewhat paranoid and bracing for the worst.
Continuing further, the roar of celebration and cheers and laughter and explosions of fireworks was practically a tangible wall. Petro found himself smiling because the last time he'd been here, he had to act as if he was enjoying himself. Otherwise... he tried to suppress a shudder at the memory.
The dormouse and cheshire both looked like they weren't happy with all the loud noises. The monster horse tried to give them comforting smiles and encouraging words, that unfortunately he had to yell to be heard, "Smile'n dance! Even if y' don't feel like it! We don't want the Party Police noticing us."

Petro craned his neck, tried to scan for his classmates among the throng of dancing, celebrating bodies. It took him some time to spot the one-armed ghoul and still carrying Carlos, Tro tried to wade towards her, his free arm waving to try to draw her attention. He made sure to remain within sight of Camilla though.
Along the way he spotted another ghoul from his class and hollered out, "Yo! Got grub over here!" It didn't sound too suspicious, did it?

Ruth still mouthed cheering at Uru's firework, clapping even if there was no blooming explosions at the end. She selected one of the bead necklaces that had retained the most color in them before offering that to the larger boil. Along with any of her other fellow students! Such as Rojo and Alpinely and Danirate (by proximity to the other two) and even a boil whose name she didn't know. Bead necklaces for all!!!
And his minion... she did a super good job at making a very nice firework. It exploded well matching his own except with a lot more color.
Andrew gave her a thumbs up in approval not even bothering to try and shout over the cheering. But to anyone who looked at him his tail was absolutely blazing and and he wore a grin of absolute happiness. and pride. lots of pride over his minion's excellent work.
Uru got a small frown. To uru he tried to shout. "Doesn't seem to work for you. I'll give you a light next time." Andrew was just pleased to be in his proper environment. Was he offering to be helpful? Yes yes he was.
Frightening? "I guess they may be frightening for creeple who don't like loud things and confetti," he replied thoughtfully. From the way Danirate covered his ears in response to Alpinely's excited exclamation, Rojo suspected that maybe the vampire was one of those creeple.
He would have continued chatting away, but their instructor was urging them forward and Rojo was happy to be urged. He fell through the Independence Day door with a happy screech, landing much as he did when he jumped off of dorm roofs. Most spooktacular indeed.

No, wait. Rojo turned around, parting his teeth in a grin at the ghoul from before.
"Hello! I am glad you didn't dissipate in the fall!"
He accepted a beaded necklace from a blond ghoul, thanked her happily, then addressed the students nearby.
"What would everyone like to do?" He was admittedly wary of the fireworks now that he could see them, even though his distaste for fire paled in comparison with how many other undeads felt, but he wasn't in the mood to eat anything either. That left... mingling? He was good at that.
When Camilla finally spots Carlos and Tor, she smiles in relief before approaching them. She was glad that Tor had reduced the impact the ground had on her Cheshire Cat friend. But she frowns, as she sees that Carlos seemed to really dislike all the loud sounds... The Dormouse ghoul had wondered about that... And there was another thing bothering her... Where was that one armed shy ghoul?
However, before she could really look for the ghoul, they all were being ushered towards the town... The closer they got, the louder the fireworks were, until they did in fact sound very much like thunder! Several times Camilla flinched at the boom... And when they were in the town proper her tail was puffed up to twice it's normal size I discontent... 'C'mon Camilla! They are fireworks! Not thunder! Pull yourself together!' she thinks, as she tries to at least stop flinching at the booms... It wasn't working...
The truth was, the loud noise or bright flashes weren't what was bothering her. It was the fact that the booms sounded so similar to thunder... which harked back to her little known fear of intense storms...
Unfortunately... Camilla had been so focused on getting over the Fireworks, she got separated from her group! The crowds were massive here! Even at her small size, the Dormouse ghoul was feeling cramped as she was sardined in! Finally, a nearby station of some kind opened up and so she ducks into it hoping she might be able to spot her group. However, before she could even get a proper glance at the crowd, a jovial man ushered her to sit down!
"Hm? Oh! Um... Alright." she hums before she realized that this was actually a workstation of some kind. When she was told to sit down she agrees before taking a seat. Before her were tubes, black powder, and colored powders... Wait... That black powder... "So missy! Do ya want to learn how to make a firework?" the man asks as she looks over everything on the table curiously. Yup... just as she thought... for a moment, Camilla got a unsure expression and her tail echoed this as well... Seeing this the man decided to ease her unsuridness "Don't worry there lil' miss! It's perfectly safe makin' a firework! n' afterwards ye'll get to set it off!" he exclaims cheerfully.
Camilla's frown lasted for all of two seconds after that. The man's cheerfulness was infectious and maybe... If she made a firework and launched it... she could get over how much these sounded like thunder! Plus it was a cool new skill to be learned and a adventure! How could she say no! "Heh! Alright!" she laughs. "That'a girl! Alright then! Here's how ya do it!" the man cheers before he begins telling her how to make them.
It didn't take the Dormouse ghoul long to learn how to make one, and soon she was on her way to making her first firework! She decided to go with a small one, but she packed it with lots of colors, and arranged the powders to hopefully look like flowers when it went off. Finally, she was done! Slowly she picks up her firework and held it with a happy smile! Seeing her happy smile made the man laugh and smile himself! "Hah hah! Feels good to make yer first firework don't it? You can launch it over there!" he asks jovially before pointing to a open field where others were launching their rockets. "And here! Have a box of matches to light it with!" he says before handing her a small box of cheap matches. "Thank you!" she chirps, before getting up with rocket in hand, and heading for the field.
When she reaches the field, Camilla sets up her rocket like the other creeple in the field were. Already she was feeling better about the fireworks, and seeing how they were made had really helped! She knew for sure now, that no lightning or thunder was involved in their creation, and that made her feel better about them.
Once her rocket was set up and ready to go, she pulls out the matches. They were a bit fussy to light due to their cheapness, but finally she got one lit! "Ok! Here goes!" she exclaims excitedly before holding the flaming match to the line!
Fissssssssss! Fwoooooom! Boooom!
Her firework went off without a hitch! It flew straight up into the sky and bloomed into many colored flower shapes just as she'd hoped it would!
Camilla was one of the many spectators oooing and aweing over her firework. And when the colors finally faded away, she found herself smiling gleefully! "Yaay yay!" she cheers as others clap! She hadn't even flinched at the boom either! She was tempted to make another firework, but before she could, she gets swamped! Before she could even take two steps, creeple started gathering all around her! They cover her with beads and congratulate her while patting her on the back! "Heh! It wasn't that great!" she laughs modestly. Though she had to admit, she was happy with the results!
At first, Independence Town wasn't as fun as she thought it'd be, but now, she was really enjoying herself!

"Eeeeeee thank you, Blondie!" Alpinely squealed delightedly when she was adorned with a beaded necklace then proceeded to chant. "Fuuuuuuun fuuuuuuun fuuuuuuun fuuuuuuun fun fun fun!!!!!!!"
As he was next decorated with a necklace of beads, Danirate could not help but contemplate if perhaps this was Alpinely's home town and hoped that all this hyperactiveness was not some sort of contagious phenomenon Alpinely and her possible townfolk were contaminating others with. Because he did not want to get infected no please thank you very much. "I," Danirate began to reply to Rojo, but as he dodged a bunch of racing kids with balloons in tow, he step in front of a congo line that had him back pedaling a distance as they seemed to presume he was dancing along going backwards until he somehow managed to slip away and back to the point he had been at among fellow students before the sudden derailment of sorts. "I don't know what to make of all this," Danirate continued his reply where he had left off.
"Rojo, Danirate, it looks like eating things here do funny things to tummies," Alpinely giggled as she voiced her observations. Before Danirate could decide if he'd suggest she try and consume some of the food here herself, Alpinely exclaimed in fascination, "Ooooooo, I want to build one of those!!!!!!!" And at spotting an opening, she plopped herself in front of a counter and crafted!
Alpinely hastily finished her craft--a small dark red contraption to mimic the many others she has been seeing all around this place--and showed it to a passing denizen who was walking by as she took a step away from the counter after her turn. "I made this!" She grinned upon initiating the interaction and the denizen showed her cheerfully in kind that what is next done with the craft she had made is to stomp on it and that she did cheerily as well!
"I agree, my friend!" Rojo replied as he watched the racing, dancing creeple and their balloons. "It is very strange. But also very fun!"
Following Alpinely's example, even though it led him entirely too close to the one spot he was trying to avoid, Rojo sat at the fireworks counter, choosing the tiniest tube he could find and loading it with what seemed to be this place's signature colors: red, white, and blue.
