It was still pretty early in the day. But Gio figured the docks would be open by now, after all he could see boats in the water. In the distance as they walked towards the docks Giovanni could see a ship sailing off in the distance and one pulling in to replace it.
As he stepped onto the wooden area of the dock his Pokegear went off. It was a message from Rose, she had said she was already here and actually at one island.
That told Giovanni exactly where he was heading for the day. He walked up to the man standing at the dock and spoke "Do you happen to go to One Island?" the gentleman standing across him laughed before saying "No no no bahaha the Northern Seel only goes to Five Island and the Six Island son" he pointed out in the distance at the other ship now fading in the distance. "That there ship go to One Island, but she wont be back till tomorrow"
"Awh, well that sucks I really need to get there today"
"Well if yer feeling really desperate I have a little sail ship you could have. No oars though" he pointed behind him at a very ragity looking boat. It looked like it held three but the sail had a bunch of holes in it. Gio thought about it for a minute. It was a risk but with the help of his Pokemon he was should he could make it work. "Alright we'll take her" the man laughed and waved his arm. A Machoke walked over and picked it up just to drop it in the water a few steps later.
Giovanni tha.ked the man before he and his Lucario jumped overboard on to their new boat. Giovanni walked the very front and looked out with a smile. He turned around and looked at his Lucario."First things first, we name her. I think we should name it Jasmine's Steel" it wasntt he best name he admitted but it would motivate him to get to One Island.
He pulled the three Pokeballs off his belt and opened the first one. "Ok Skarmory I need you to be my eyes here. You see that ship out there, we need to follow it" the Skarmory screed before launching off the boat into the air soaring in circles above them.
He popped open the next ball and his Metang showed up at the end of the Red beam. "Ok buddy we need as man able arms here on this ship. Think you could row?" the Metang gave a metal sound before floating to the back side of the boat and plopped down. It flapped its arms in the water rotating them to act as a motor.
The last Pokeball contained his Aegislash. He opened it and smiled at his Ghost Steel Freind. "You wann do me a favor and help paddle also?" Aegislash bounced around for a minute before moving to the side of the boat and using its sword as an oar.
His Lucario simply walked over to the other side and was attempting to do the same thing with his arms. He turned around and shot an arm up in the air. "Alright team lets do this" his Skarmory caught his sign and began to fly towards the ship in the distance.
They made great progress but the other ship seemed to be always just out of reach. So they followed in toe.

Oshawott wasn't sure whether to be unnerved or awed by the Scyther's passivity. No matter how poorly he did, his response was calm. And even now, when he did great, landing three tickets, his reaction was the same. Then again, the water pokemon reminded himself, he had only been playing these since they got here. Oshawott practically had a grudge with the place given his added experience of being here with Kail. He eyed the ten tickets that he collected, then once more, looked around for their trainer. They realy needed to find him, before they started dropping tickets....

Oh, but of course, the luck run out when it was his turn. Oshawott was torn between hanging his head and trying to punch the stand down as he popped only two balloons, but took his consolation tickets with a semi-grateful nod. At least... at least it meant that he wouldn't be struggling to hold quite as many. He had a vague notion that Scyther was watching him out of the corner of his eye, but he didn't bother to look up. He'd probably just get an ambiguous stare in response.

Well, Oshawott was glad it wasn't his score, but the extremely low score was pretty sad to see on the screen. Scyther still didn't seem to care, though, already turning to leave as Oshawott snatched up the ticket to follow. "Why doesn't Jay call you by a nickname?" he asked, catching up to the bug type. He'd noticed their trainer had nicknames for his other two pokemon, but Scyther was still... Scyther. "He does," the pokemon replied simply, "He often calls me 'Scy'. I suppose he thinks my name just fits me, I guess." Oshawott stared. Was he aware of the redundancy in his wording? He slumped a bit, letting that thought pass.

"Does he usually nickname his pokemon?" the Oshawott inquired, still following Scyther. He stopped when the bug pokemon did, instinctively moving to try the fishing game while he looked at him for answers. "In general, that does seem to be the case, as a whole, yes," Okay seriously, was he doing that on purpose, or...? Oshawott straightened up, frowning a bit in confusion and barely realizing that his net had broke until he was handed the consolation ticket. He decided not to inquire further.

Wondering what his nickname might be, Oshawott waited while Scy spun the Wheel of Fortune. He looked up, gathering the seven tickets they won, and holding them, now using both hands, with the other tickets. That was it, they... they had to go find Jacque. Oshawott was pretty sure he couldn't get any more tickets in his little paws, at least not without risking losing all of them to the wind. Evidently, Scy agreed, silently, looking for their trainer, and beginning to wander in the direction he'd gone. The Scyther was certainly more likely to know where their trainer might have disappeared to than Oshawott was.

It didn’t take the two very long to find their trainer. Mostly because he was… running towards them, hat held to his head, Zoey clinging to his shoulder and giving out quick screeches so he could orient himself, while Belle seemed to be leaping from tree to tree, flapping her wings a bit, but still clearly unwilling to fly, despite the… obvious hurry they were in. Both Scy and Oshawott came to a stop, watching the performance as they drew closer. ”Glad t’see y’all’re headed this way!” JD hurriedly said, shortening his stride and coming to a stop. Oshawott immediately held the tickets up. ”Hm? Oh! Thank ya parner!” their trainer remarked, haphazardly tossing something at Scy, and snatching up the tickets. He quickly shoved them into his bag, pulling something else out, and handing it to Oshawott.
”Y’two use those. Ah need jur help with, uh… somethin’,” he said, standing up and turning, ”Ah tried lightin one of them ‘ncense things ya gave me, lil’ buddy. Boy, it attracted some pokemon. That pok’dex thuh pruhfessor gave meh said they were sum kinda…. Fury type o’ somethin’. Think ah heard o’ them ‘fore, so ah need y’all ta learn some steel type moves, ‘n’ quick.” Oshawott blinked, glancing at the Scyther beside him, who was examining the mushroom he’d been given, and then promptly ate it. The water pokemon blinked, looking down at the heart scale. Was he supposed to eat this, too….?

With one of these… ‘Fury’ type pokemon quickly approaching, Oshawott backpedalled, figuring out how to work the heart scale he’d been given. Scyther, however, lifted his wings, stepping forward and then lowering himself, clearly ready. He looked fierce, focused… and completely ridiculous when compared to the adorable little egg-like pokemon looking back at him. ”Prii! Prii!” the togepi chirruped. JD stepped back, then nodded in Scyther’s direction. ”Alrigh’ Scy, go ahead ‘n’ use Steel Wing!” he instructed, the bug-flying pokemon immediately darting forward, his wings turning a silver grey color and hardening, before he turned, hitting the fairy pokemon and instantly K.O.ing it. JD straightened, scratching his head under his hat a moment. ”Y’know, there’re a lotta more o’ those comin’, budam pretteh sure they ain’t that common,” he remarked, head turned as he listened to the surrounding area, the nearby festival music interfering, but only slightly. He pulled out a pokeball. ”Migh’ be worth catchin’.”

WAfter catching the first Togepi, JD sent it to his PC system, figuring he would go through and organize the pokemon he caught from this at a later date. He turned his head as another approached, and Scyther prepared to take it down. ”Yeh figger that hurt scale out yet, Osh’wott?” he asked. The pokemon nodded, having now learned Iron Tail, and gave a sound of confirmation. ”Well alrigh’ then. After Scy here finishes this ‘er Togapree off, yeh can take on thuh next ‘un,” he said, before nodding blindly towards the flying-bug pokemon, which dashed forward to repeat the attack from before.

Two down! How many should he even catch? He didn’t know how popular these things were, but five seemed like a pretty decent number. As a third came up, he nodded to Oshawott, who puffed out his chest, waddling forward, and then running forward. He jumped up, turning and smacking a steel-strong tail into the pokemon, instantly K.O.ing it. ”Almost startin’ ta feel a li’l bad for thuh buggers…” Jacque remarked, pulling out another pokeball.
Level 10 Togepi Oshawott used Iron Tail! 2 x 100 = 200 damage! …. That poor Togepi didn’t stand a chance.

So that was three Togepi… JD could hear two more coming, and nodded to Oshawott to indicate him to take on the next one, but he didn’t hear very many more. Was that it? Was that all the incense attracted? No… No he could hear something else just underneath the other sounds, slightly further away. What was that…. He shook his head, focusing as Oshawott took down another, and tossing a pokeball to try and catch it as well. Just one more, and then… well… whatever else was on its way.

With the fifth making an appearance and Oshawott likely knowing what to do, JD turned his head, listening carefully. Boy howdy… This incense was strong. He could hear more and more pokemon coming as he listened. It was practically a swarm. He straightened, pulling out a pokeball and tossing it to catch the fifth Togepi. It might not be the last to show up, but that would be the last that he’d catch. He went ahead and motioned for Oshawott to come back, gesturing for Scyther to go foreward, switching the two so that Scyther could take on the next opponent to appear.

Shaking his head, JD had to concede that he had no idea what the pokemon approaching was. He groped around in his pack, pulling out the pokedex again, and pointing it towards the approaching opponent. A rock fairy type… a Carbink, apparently. Well, that wouldn’t be too terribly difficult to defeat, with the moveset he had set up with his two pokemon. ”Al-rye-dee then, go ahead ‘n’ use Steel Wing onit, Scy. Think there’s ‘bout two more comin’ afta it, s’go ahead’n do thuh same with ‘em,” he instructed, tucking the pokedex away and crossing his arms. He’d go ahead and catch two or three of them, then let Scy take out the rest. Thinking about it… he wondered just how many of these fairy types there were… and how long the incense even lasted.

Scyther easily took out the next Carbink as well. JD scratched the back of his head, tilting it slightly, listening beyond the third one approaching. He was pretty sure, from what he could hear, sense, and feel about the battle, that Oshawott was hitting a bit harder than Scyther. He was also fairly sure that, from his reading, the water pokemon’s attack was more powerful as well, which would possibly explain that. He didn’t want to completely over kill the pokemon, so he decided to leave Scyther in, at least for another battle, reaching back for a pokeball to try and catch the rock/fairy type.

Just as before, Scyther brought down the third Carbink, but it seemed about two more were coming beyond that. Although he’d caught five of the togepi, he didn’t really feel like rock/fairy was… quite as popular. He might keep one for himself, but the pokemon had a harder, gruffer sense about it… Three was enough. He would let Scyther take the other two down for trainin, then switch in Oshawott.
