Drona watched a man nearby get a similar treatment and hummed in agreement. "No kidding," she said, lifting another massive stone to add to the piles growing in the corners. "You'd think he'd at least say something, but he just snatches it like a child and leaves."
"I wouldn't complain if he helped clean, either."

Golden amber eyes widened slightly at the girl's comment, brow arching high. This was coming from the girl who stumbled when she tried to do a turn and who got excited over a chicken? She clicked her tongue, crossing her arms. Really, she shouldn't have cared, and in reality she didn't, but it was still somehow rather irritating. This child with her name embroidered on her undies like some six-year-old was calling a trashy piece of disgusting used pair of panties 'fancy'?
She was delusional. Mental. Honest to god insane. That poor chicken.
Na'ima sighed and rubbed at her cheek, checking her face for the damage inflicted by the chicken aside from white feathers stuck to her hair and dress.

You find a note. Upon reading it it seems to say the following: Dearest Mordred, your hair is beautiful, shining locks in the wind. Will you be mine. xoxoxox ------- The name is scratched out.
Hollandaise turned the letter over in her hands, as if viewing it from a differing angle would somehow make it comprehensible. Experimentally, she sniffed it - paper, dust, and something sort of dog-like. It told her nothing. Who had written to Mordred requesting the Great Knight's servitude? It was troubling, especially in light of recent events.
With a small noise of confusion, she simply passed it to the knight next to her. He looked vaguely capable - at least capable enough to deal with such an odd letter.

He took the note bemusedly and did not sniff it or anything of the sort. Instead he read it carefully, trying to puzzle out if were something more than a mere declaration of love. Eventually, Horace sighed, gave up and folded the note very, very carefully. It was slipped into the notebook he always kept on him. Never knew when such things could come in handy.

Wrath looked to be in a bit of a mood after the meeting headed by Lancelot, but really, he was just a little bit broody, with eyebrows drawn down and one hand up to stroke at his beard as he made his way into the courtyard. Clean up, he had been told, and clean up he would, but he was still going over the events of earlier in his mind.
On the back of his hand, hidden by a glove, was the butterfly mark that Morgana had bestowed upon him.
When eventually his gaze did lift, it was to the carnage of debris that lay all around. His eyebrows lifted, and he suddenly became much more animated, as he let out a long sigh, eyeing the mess before his gaze landed on what appeared to be a barrel. An intact barrel.
He made his way over to it, and gave it a push.
Liquid sloshed within.
Perfect.

There was so much to be cleaned up Jason felt it would take weeks upon weeks to do it. Still, he would be happy to help out, as this task involved no hideous monsters he had to fight, no traitorous knights, and no throwing chickens off of walls.
It was a fairly mundane task, and he needed some mundane.
Searching around the area, he went to go pick up whatever trash he could find, before he stumbled upon a rock. It was just a simple rock. With a shrug he picked it up and slipped it into his pocket. You never knew when a rock could come in handy.
It was then he spied one of the Great Knights, Sir Galahad, was manning the clean up. Jason hadn't met the gold knight as of yet, so he was curious (and nervous) to see what he would be like.
Walking up to him, Jason bowed low. Sir Galahad, I am glad to see you are well.

Mmur was lying on the floor of the treasure room when he opened his eyes, something unyielding digging into his spine. Something gold and unyielding. He pulled an ornate chalice out from under him and sat up, squinting at the chaotic aftermath of a fight he hadn't witnessed. Apprentices were touching staffs, Gawain and Percival were dead, and Morgan was nowhere to be found. It took him a long time to understand what had gone on while he had been with the mirror. Or thought he had been. It really did take quite a while.
Morgan was Morgana. The sidhe had the mirror, even though he was quite sure he had been with it right up until he woke up. It was all very confusing on its own, let alone when he took into account what he had seen. At least he was a knight now, though it was yet another thing he couldn't recall having accomplished.
Mmur didn't want to clean the courtyard, but when he found a sealed skin of liquor that must have been left over from all the healing everyone had needed lately, the task became much more tolerable.

Dirge chuckled in reply to the other knight, pulling another body out from a pile of rubble and throwing it onto a slowly building pile. "As if a Great Knight would help us with -" He huffed, the next corpse resisting as he tugged. "Menial labor. A knight remembers their place, after all."

Shiny? "Hm?" Arrakis looked up, having honestly had his concentration wander elsewhere. He was vaguely aware that he hadn't been the only person to leave the great hall, but hadn't paid much more attention than that. There was a part of him comforted to see the others there, though, and he was not in terribly much of a hurry to wander off by himself again. Doing that would accomplish exactly nothing.
Besides, he needed to remember to ask for help sometimes...
At Brenley's words, he rested his hand on the sword he'd gotten from the pool deep underground, a sword that was already becoming a comforting presence at his side. "No... I think we should probably stick around to see this one through." It was definitely a bit late to leave, now. Percival and Gawain were dead, Lancelot was furious with everyone... "Though I can't say I'd mind terribly if anything else bad waited a few days to happen."

"A few days?" asked Ignatius, looking up from a pile of particularly bloodied debris to look Arrakis in the eye. "I'll take never again instead, please." He knew that was rather unlikely, admittedly, and it showed in the grim smile on his face, a lot of the mirth that would typically be in his manner lost for just a few moments.
Well, until he looked back at his chicken.
He cooed at it, for a moment, petting it on the head (because apparently that is what one does with chickens). It hadn't been sunk with the drawbridge, after all! Perhaps there were more chickens still alive here than originally expected. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing, considering they still needed to eat. (Though this one was his, and was not to go on anyone's plate. This was his lucky chicken. He should probably give it a name. Maybe Clucky. That sounded particularly witty, and Ignatius almost grinned at the thought--)
His eyes lifted. Oh. Right. The other three.
Ignatius glanced towards the direction of the bridge. "Honestly, I don't think we could leave even if we wanted to. But that's fine! We have shiny rocks and chickens here, I think we'll be okay!"
It was hard to say if he was being sincere or sarcastic that time.

"A real knight's gonna be sleeping on rocks if he doesn't get his precious hands dirty," Drona snarked, making a face. Though her apparent distaste didn't make her work any less hard.
"The whole kingdom's gotta be a mess, though. I don't get why the courtyard's so important right now."

"Probably to keep us busy - idle hands are the devi;'s playthings, or whatever." Dirge babbled, staying just as focused on piling rubble and removing dead bodies when he found them.
"To be honest, I don't know if the Great Knights even know what they're doing now. Rumor has it Mordred is missing now. They might be scrambling."

Piper made a soft whining noise at the very idea of giving up her beloved oversized fork trident, and then another softer noise at the idea of waiting for a few days. For what? To be a sitting duck for whatever else the sidhe and horsemen or whatever else was out there to come get them? At least she had satisfaction in battles: at least there she felt powerful.
"Who knows who else is under a spell," the girl said darkly, polishing her stone on her shirt. It had to be shining. "Isn't there a way to figure out if any other Morgan supporters are going to go nuts on us?"
She also kept side-eying Ignatius' chicken.

He also hoped that the monsters would be silent for more than a few days, but he couldn't voice his agreement, not when... Smiles? Was that the knight's name? Not when Smiles was fawning over his poultry.
"We have always had plenty of chickens around here. It makes me wonder why our welcome banquet was so modest... Not that we would eat your chicken. There are plenty of others!" Bren cleared his throat and shifted his attention to the girl. "I hate to bring it up, but you did say that none of us had reflections, right? Did you really see everyone?" He looked at the other two again. "Do you think that means we're all susceptible to corruption, or is there something else going on here?"

"Galahad!" Mordred appears a moment later, and confronts the gold knight. "I need to speak to you in private. It is an urgent matter."
Galahad nods to the knights still working on the courtyard and follows Mordred.
