"Stances? Psh, she could be solid s'a rock and she'd still go down to grizzly." She snorted. "Like hell I'd wanna try to touch one of the big guys. Hope it goes down exciting at least." It wasn't said maliciously, but rather with the hope of getting to see something cool--like a secret technique of Percival's in action. Waaaay better than trying out her toothpick.
She crossed her arms and watched expectantly.

The sideline commentary was starting to really get on her nerves, and the girl cast the both of them a scowl before re-assuming battle position.
Oh, she'd really show them now.
Gzifa charged head on at the shielded figure, showing no signs of decceleration as she approached close quarters. The girl then broke into a skid, sliding under the shield between the Knight's legs, swinging the sword upwards as she slid through.
How was that for a battle stance, huh.

"True enough, I suppose. Just parroting what he told her." Dirge griped, brow raised at both this newcomer's enthusiasm and Gzifa's tenacious ferocity in attacking Sir Percival.
"You have to give it to the shrimp, she's got more bite than bark. Didn't think someone so small could pack such a punch."

Gzifa's attack glanced off Percival's shield lightly, with almost no resistance, despite their dramatic finish. By the time she turned around, the Great Knight had already unstrapped the shield and handed it to her. "Remember, offensive and defensive. In battle, you want to protect you allies any way you can."
He sat down for a moment, reinspecting his gauntlets to make sure everything was assembled correctly, "While I am here, I do have a question for all of you. What do you think is the difference between a knight and an apprentice-knight?"

“Yes sir,” she nodded and bowed to receive the shield, trying not to get toppled over from its weight. Gzifa hadn't expected much from what was an incredibly one-sided spar, but felt a little discouraged by how unphased the Knight was.
“E-Experience?” she ventured, glancing over at the other two. Percival was certainly very very old....er than her.

"Eh, size doesn't matter, big guy, it's how you use it," she told him with a smarmy look. "Thought you knew that already."
The girl's charge earned a cheer from Piper and a fist pump. "That's what I'm talkin' about!" She appreciated the flair at the end, even though it meant very little against someone like Percival.
At the question, Piper blinked. Experience, sure, but--"Power, loyalty, and luck?" Everything always boiled down to the last one as far as she was concerned.

Dirge gave an annoyed 'tch' at the size comment; she'd obviously seen him lose spectacularly in the spar he'd just had. He liked her wit, though.
He thought Gzifa's flair and dramatics were too much, a waste of time. Obviously they did nothing to Percival, and once Dirge became a knight too? Flittling little attacks that looked cool would have no effect on him either.
"Strength in all forms." Dirge replied, clucking his tongue when Gzifa took the answer he was originally going to say.

[Enter]
There was a lot to investigate and see, sights to take in and people to meet (hopefully), and there was no better time to start than right now. Led simply by the notion that one room seemed a better beginning than the others, Abbi wandered into what once was a courtyard but had since been repurposed. Everything was very curious looking, but she kept her distance from the pointy looking things for the moment, and only stopped herself from passing straight on through the area to another when she spotted a bright cloud of blue. Upon closer inspection, which more accurately was her gravitating to the color, Abbi discovered it was a person! How adorable!
About to rush right up and perhaps chat her way into touching the fluffy hair, there is first the matter of a Knight proper to deal with. For a moment she considers his question before she steps forward and pipes up. "Um ah, I... I think the difference would be wisdom, and experience. Hard won knowledge through practice and diligence of heart." Unsure what to do after that, the girl gave a quick curtsey and stepped back.

[ ENTER, Ezekyhel ]
With his battleaxe thump-thumping against the sore muscles of his back, Ezekyhel approached the small courtyard dedicated to bettering oneself in battle. After receiving such a beating during his quest, he needed some downtime; and what better downtime was there than showing off one's strength in a good ol' fashioned sparring session?
The wild-haired man grinned at the faces milling about, revealing a mouthful of uneven (and occasionally missing) canines. His stance, as he had found for himself a particularly pleasing and shady spot beneath a large tree, was one of confidence; his thick legs were spread shoulder width apart, large battleaxe brought from its holster to be placed blade down on the cobblestone before him, his roughened hands resting on the butt of said weapon. For a while, he said nothing; only watched. Then, deciding it the most opportune time to find a partner, Ezekyhel's voice burst from him in a thunderous bellow. "My services are humbly offered to any of those looking for a sparring partner," He proclaimed, eyes gleaming good-naturedly as he, again, surveyed the crowd. There was a mischief-making grin on his face, and a challenge in his next remark. "So long as you don't mind losing, that is."

[ ENTER OLLIE ]
Even compared to Ezekyhel, Ollie was likely tiny: slim and tousled, barely fifteen and less than five feet tall, dark skinned and roughly dressed. He trailed in the broad man's wake, entering just a step behind, but seemed immediately distracted by something to his left, and then something to his right, bright eyes taking in the small gathered group around them.
He wandered in a circle, oozing good cheer, humming thoughtfully -- and then pivoting on his heel to take in the older man. The smile plastered across his face was bright and guileless, unafraid but not exactly cocky. It was the look that young men have before they learn that they're mortal, or in this case, after they've forgotten.
"I don't mind losing." It could have been cocky, mocking, but instead it just sounded honest and bright. Ollie didn't mind, and wouldn't, but he'd be down for the fight, anyway.

Ezekyhel gave a grin to the young man that approached him; swinging his battle axe up so that its long handle could rest comfortably against his shoulder. The dark, glittering blades of the axe flashed dangerously in the sunlight next to Ezekyhel's head; as though having been recently polished (which they had been). The battle axe's hilt was a perfect fit to his large hand. It, too, was quite a familiar weapon to him, despite having lost most of its sentimental value when Zeke took his pledge. The name Nicodeymus was inscribed along the curve one of its blades, and so that was what Ezekyhel chose to call it; though he did not know the true reasoning behind its inscription.
"Your courage is inspiring, lad." Ezekyhel says this with a chortle, referring- quite obviously- to their difference in size, as well as maturity. He takes his axe in both hands now, bending his knees down so that he was in a more grounded position than before. He, too, was short- reaching a meager 5'5- but his muscles were defined and his bones built for tanking whatever damage might be thrown at him. Wielding the axe, with his wild hair flaring around his head and catching in the breeze; he looked positively barbaric. "I'll let you have the first go, then." He says, indicating that his new sparring partner should have the first strike. "Show me what yer made of, boy!"
He was eager to discover whether or not this boy had more to him than what a first glance might tell.

There wasn't even a breath of hesitation: Ollie drew his weapon and threw himself at the bigger man in an easy sort of way, scythe slashing through air. He was small, yes, but he was quick, and he was unafraid, and that seemed to count for quite a bit. The edge of his weapon caught at Ezekyhel's shirt, a palpable hit, and he whooped in a pleased sort of way over his victory.

Simply roll 1d4 to attack. The dice you roll is the damage you do. HOWEVER:
- At any point if you roll a 1, it is considered a MISS. That means you must RP out your character missing in a battle ORP outside of the arena.
- At any point if you roll two of the same dice in succession that is a critical hit! You will do 2x the damage next round. This is simply in post succession, so if you post, and roll a 4, and someone posts between you and rolls 5 and you post and roll a second 4, it still counts. It means the second 4 you roll now does8 whopping damage. However, if you roll a third consecutive 4, that does not do double damage and instead, resets the count (so you woul dhave to roll a fourth 4 in order for you to double hit)
Again, Ezekyhel grinned; happy with the other's rather overwhelming enthusiasm for battle. Though, he didn't expect him to be quite as fast... and for that, he earned a heavy blow to his chest. Grimacing as the breath left his lungs, Ezekyhel takes a single firm step back... and then, three steps forward as he swings his axe in the direction of the other.
The hit lands, and though it isn't quite as solid as Ollie's, Zeke is stilled pleased. He does not, however, let out a whoop like the boy had. Instead, he only grins- as usual- and waits to see in what form the retaliation would come. His grip on his battle axe is firm, his stance grounded once again. He was ready for the speed this time, and hoped to dodge...

It had been exciting when he was doing the striking, but the blow landed on him in return made Ollie puff out a breath -- surprised and alarmed, like he'd forgotten just how much that could hurt. Something about this felt familiar, but something about it also felt new, strange, and he wanted to pause and mull over it.
Instead, momentum drew him back and then around again, striking at the other man's legs. Ollie didn't stop moving.

Where Ollie was a barely recognizable blow of constant movement, Ezekyhel was resolute. He watched the other as best he could, trying to predict the movements that could be made and the steps that could be taken to avoid them. He managed to dodge some blows, but- eventually- he took a hit to the hip and let out a gruff noise of pain before returning the blow two-fold; ramming the very top bladeless portion of his axe into the poor knight apprentice's stomach.
"Sorry about that one, boy-o... just trying to slow you down a bit." There's sweat on his forehead, now, and he can feel it trickling down his back. It would seem his stamina was lacking, and Ollie had an endless amount of it. Hopefully, Ezekyhel would be able to get in another heavy blow like the one he'd just made. He wouldn't, after all, be able to dodge the boys quick jabs forever and as he had stated- he really needed to slow him down.
