Well, yes, but there was a lot of good stuff too! That was the first time I had ever seen a white sand beach...or a black sand beach for example! 4laugh

Aaaw...well, I guess that makes sense when considering each island is it's own country. ...Right...? xd So you mean...turning the different currencies something like what Euros are to Europe? surprised That would probably be handy.. xd

Wow, a black sand beach?? surprised

*nods* it would've been awesome cuz then we'd be able to visit other Caribbean islands without having a passport blaugh

Haha, yeah! whee But it's more like...a smooth stone beach rather than a "sandy" beach.. It's actually basalt from lava flows eroded into pebbles. Here, here's a picture!

eek Wait, you have to have a passport to travel between islands? Aaw, that's a shame.. =/

Wow, that looks amazing! surprised
Is it safe?
I so wanna go there now lol

*nods* except for Tobago, cuz we're like one lol Trinidad and Tobago ^_^

Yeah! I mean, as long as the volcano isn't erupting.. xd But I was there, I set foot on one of those in Hawai'i, it was as safe as any beach. =3 They have some on the big island of Hawai'i...and the one I went in is called Maui...I think there's one on Oahu too.. You could probably google black sand beaches and find a decent listing of others outside of Hawai'i. 3nodding

Oh! Right, those two are on the same island, right? surprised

Wow... Someday I'll make it to there lol ^_^

Not exactly lol two separate islands but together

User Image

Haha, I'm with ya! Someday I'd like to go back.. emotion_kirakira

Oh, I see. So, they're not as far away from each other? =3

Btw, have you ever heard about a Tortuga cake? I heard them described today as the best cakes ever from the Caribbean.. surprised

*nods* it takes 5hrs by boat and 10 mins by plane to reach Tobago from Trinidad... i think lol I've also heard some ppl jet ski all the way to Tobago lol

*searches Tortuga cake* I don't think I've ever heard of it sweatdrop
It seems to be a rum cake so that's probably one reason i haven't heard of it lol rum = alcohol (muslims don't consume alcohol)
I've learned something new lol

5 hours vs 10 minutes? surprised Hmm...how about on a speed boat? wink

Oh! xd I heard about the rum part, but I never even thought that might be an issue.. xd I just thought you might have heard of it since it's...generally in the Caribbean. ...Although, the islands aren't exactly a stone's throw from each other.. xd

Dunno lol guess it probably depends on the tide? I remember jet skiing when the tide was high once and I got soaked through and through lol was also afraid of going too fast cuz it felt like it might flip over if I did ninja

*nods* if it were we'd be able to visit each island one after the other... no expenses... that would have been awesome lol

eek Really? I never thought high vs low tide would make that much of a difference.. I knew there was such thing as rough waters but.. surprised

Well come on! Can't there be a bunch of huge towering bridges built between the islands?! Tall enough for huge boats to pass through, but making driving from island to island possible! 3nodding ......... xd Hahaha *joking* =3

I never gave it much thought either lol usually the place we go to jet ski is really easy riding around, you can even go to the little islands off shore. The last time were there though, you had to really focus on what you were doing to keep control, not to mention water kept coming on my face lol when I mentioned it to my dad later on, he said it was cuz the tide was high 3nodding

Well there were talks once about building a bridge to Tobago... never happened lol but there are ferry services to certain islands ^_^

eek Wow, really? surprised So...there wasn't a storm or anything, it was just 'cause the tide was high? surprised That almost seems hard to believe, but I remember the sea...she be fickle. xd

surprised Well, realistically, I'm not sure a bridge like that would be possible.. It would have to withstand gale-force winds, hurricanes, rough sees.. It would probably be an exceedingly expensive project.. xp

So are the ferries the ones that people usually take to certain islands? =3 Is that anything like a cruise? I've never been on one, but...as I understand it, there are a number of cruises to and from the Caribbean.. pirate

Yup lol There are certain times of the year where you wouldn't go to some of the beaches up north cuz the water can be pretty rough 3nodding

I agree lol jus politicians trying to keep their seats in parliament lol

I've never really been on one either sweatdrop
I don't know about the rest of the Caribbean, but I recently heard about one from Trinidad to either Grenada or Guyana... not sure which one sweatdrop
They were talking about having one to Barbados but that has yet to happen lol
