Aldrich Brandt " Naturally. Your wife seems to have been handed to you." He touched his chin in thought. " Your Majesty, what do you know about dancing?"

King Earle "Long live the king."━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━" I know only the elegant side of it." Earle replied. " Ballroom dancing and the likes, although I'm aware that such dances are near extinct. What I've observed is... Well I'd hardly call it dancing." he snorted as he leaned back into the seat. He nodded at Aldrich. " Don't worry about addressing me as my title. I'm not king anymore thanks to my lousy grandson breaking his curse. Earle is fine." ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Aldrich Brandt He raised a shoulder. " Personally, I don't much care about titles, but you seem to hold yourself as much higher than a commoner. However, I'll do what you want, Earle." The name tasted strange in his mouth, but he still said it. " Now then, dancing nowadays is a little off, but there is a way that you can connect the two."

King Earle "Long live the king."━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━" But of course. I may not be a king anymore, but I'm still royal, and far more powerful than a simple commoner. You, however, have proven both with your conversations and your home that you are above a commoner. Were we speaking in old times I'd say a lord or a noble. What's the word now? High class? Upper class?" Earle gently shook the thoughts from his head and looked at Aldrich again. " You say there is a way to connect the two forms of dancing. How?" ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Aldrich Brandt " Upper-class is a good way to say it," he nodded, standing and setting his hands on his hips. " Well, modern slow dancing is a good way to connect them. Here, let me show you." He gestured for the king to stand, taking his phone out and playing one of the songs that Alan liked, something called Anchor. " Come here."

King Earle "Long live the king."━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Earle rose from his seat and moved towards the host. Up close like this he could see that the man was middle-aged, maybe half a decade younger. He was also shorter than the king, but barely. Despite whatever characteristic difference they shared, the king's dignified stance made it clear that he would not take the woman's position of dancing, if even to learn the man's set. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Aldrich Brandt Aldrich wasn't dumb enough to think that the king would let him take the lead, so the South African swallowed his pride and took the man's hands, setting one on his waist and holding the other in his hand. He set his other hand on the king's shoulder, then started to sway, making a small box step of sorts. " It's very informal, you just follow the music," he said in a very calm voice.

King Earle "Long live the king."━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Earle did as he was told, doing well to not stop on his partner's feet. He did, however, wrinkle his nose occasionally in unease. Dancing with Aldrich was far different than dancing with his adorable, little Heinrich. This man was bulkier (maybe muscle) and, well, it was hard to picture Heinrich's face on Aldrich when that beard poked through like a saber. " This is not modern dancing." commented the king. " This is more of the waltz-style. I'm aware of the modern age, as well as the dancing styles." He paused then looked Aldrich in the eye. " Teach me how to Dougie." he said with absolute certainty in his voice and eyes. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Aldrich Brandt " Says the several century-old king," replied the man before he stopped the dancing. He blinked twice, then two more times, then looked Earle back in the eye with his hard gaze and answered as politely as he could. " Not for all the money in the whole damn world." He pulled away for a minute, then crossed his arms and shook his head. " This isn't working, you're still too tense."

King Earle "Long live the king."━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Earle did nothing, mainly because he was hurt by the denial. Aldrich didn't have to be that harsh. " I fail to see what a dance like this will do to impress Heinrich. He is as old as me and old-fashioned, yes, but his boyfriend is from this generation. He knows more styles, I'm sure, and I'm also sure this is not one of them." ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Aldrich Brandt The vein in Aldrich's forehead looked as if it were about to burst. " A man your age shouldn't be doing something as inane as the Dougie!" he barked. " Besides, no one does that anymore. It's as outdated as MP3 players are." He turned to walk away, grabbing a thin white laptop from a table and opening it. " I highly doubt making you this generation-savvy will attract your butler. You've got to be better than that."

King Earle "Long live the king."━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Earle grit his teeth, a blush weakening his proud expression. He despised seeing atrocious movements they referred to as dancing nowadays, but that was where the problem was: that was dancing now! " Do you take me for a fool? I realize these dances are preposterous, but they are also the only ones people today understand. No one shows as nearly as much enthusiasm for a foxtrot!" He looked at the computer and quickly reached out to press a button that paused the video on a woman in mid-twerk. " There. Teach that. People today are obsessed with the rear!" ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Aldrich Brandt Aldrich stared at the screen, then slowly moved his gaze to Earle's backside. He then stood upright, and shook his head again. " I don't think you have the a-s for twerking, Earle," he said, trying to break it semi-gently.

King Earle "Long live the king."━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Instead of replying with a bark or a threat, the king merely sighed, maybe even forlornly. " That's true." he conceded as he gazed at the screen. " Even if I did, I don't think I could learn that. It looks inhuman, even for me." He brought a hand to his temple and rubbed it. " It's only been an hour and already I'm exhausted. Maybe we should call it a day." ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Aldrich Brandt He nodded in agreement, quiet. After a moment of silence, he spoke up. " Are you hungry? I'm starving." He gestured to the door. " As a reward for a hard day's work, I guess, I'll buy."
