 & Cimm&Nuna
Cimm's senses became overwhelmed quite suddenly. At one point he was focused on Mercy and her reactions, wary already of his surroundings. Just as the luxio was explaining herself, a shrill, piercing cry invaded the sanctity of his ear canals. The horrid sound coupled with the fact that everyone in that hall jumped at the same time set Cimmerian over the edge. His fur stood on end, charged by his neighboring electric type to further the poofiness. He heard her say something regarding weirdos and evil pokemon, but was to panicked to really hear everything.
A large Empoleon booming from the front caught his attention before he could decide to run off or not. The menacing leader of his specific group made Cimm want to leave even more, though he was a bit glad to have someone who seemed to take things under control above him. What kept him in the room was Veilmys' ability. The luxio could feel a slightly disgusting unnatural calm settle in on him that allowed him to settle his fur almost instantly.
He heard Mercy speak and shrugged in an eerily calm demeanor, I dunno, but I do like him better than that pink thing, Cimm mentioned in a slight undertone, though he really didn't care if the Guildmaster or otherwise had heard. Now that he was in a more collected state of mind the luxio was able to observe the leaders of the groups and listen to what they said. He was just glad their head of operations didn't seem quite so talkative or intrusive, I think I'm just glad we have that guy instead, he echoed his thoughts out loud.
---
Nuna was having an awful time finding something shiny. Once she had moved outside of the crowd, she had a hard time looking back into it to once over her search. If only she could find something nice to take back with her. She had seen the beautiful orange gem on the Guildmaster's ribbon, but even the thieving little aron knew when not to take things too far. She could always go after it in a less conspicuous environment.
She was startled from her mulling thoughts when a scream ripped through the air. She looked immediately in the direction of the sound and hurried towards it, the same curiosity that had pulled her from the room earlier taking over. When she was close enough to the commotion she found that what had screeched was a glorious embodiment of sparkling awesomeness. The only problem was that it was covered almost entirely in a mass of dull brown fur. An itch in the back of her brain alerted her to the rare case of irritation she felt, the cause being the mere fact that this elongated striped pokemon had beat her to the punch.
And just when she thought she had an opportunity to approach the gleaming carbink, the Guildmaster himself wrapped its ribbons around the shiny thing. Nuna could sympathize with the Linoone's frustration as her plans were smashed. Still, she would have gone about it a much more subtle way. Irritated and more than a little perturbed, the aron turned on her heel and ignored whatever else was going on behind her as she went to find he captain again.

Skye & QuilSkye races down the halls and into the room, her partner clinging tightly to the top of her shoulders. He peered around her neck to see ahead of them as the much larger Espeon slowed to a halt.
Originally that had not planned to interrupt the gathering of new guild teams, as Skye had only recently returned from her first mission under the new guild. It had been a tiring day for her, and the Joltik knew that she was far from eager to join a noisy and excitable group of people. That awful screeching had been enough to draw their attention; however, along with the pained cries of many others.
Noting that the guildmaster had a firm grasp on the situation, Skye allowed herself to relax. Misunderstandings were fairly common between guild members- this had always been the case, as far as she was concerned. Whatever had originally started situations such as those, they were frequently resolved within minutes of the initial problem. The teams would get along with each other soon enough.
"Skye?" The tiny voice of the Joltik on her shoulder made her ears twitch. "Can we stay for a while?" Two pairs of soft, teal eyes stared up at her, and her heart softened.
"I suppose it's only polite. Let's see if we can find any of my old guildmates, here," she relented quietly, stepping out to join the fray of chattering Pokemon.
- - - - -
Quil shivered with excitement. Aside from his own family, he wasn't used to large crowds of people. There were a lot of things to look at, and not a lot of time to look at them. Static still crackling in his fur, he crawled quickly to the top of Skye's head, trying to get a better look at everyone around them.
He knew more about Skye's family than her old guild friends, so this was all very interesting to him.
Still, even if he met no one in the entire room, he could be grateful that he was reunited with his old partner. It had taken some time for the guild to allow them to re-partner, but once Skye had passed her test, he was also the only Pokemon available for the job.
Warmth swelled in his tiny belly, and he nuzzled his partner's fur, generating more static to fuel his electric-type body. He'd need to be wide awake for meeting new people.

Veilmys & Barcel "Don't you mean Eminence of Exploration, Claud?" Veilmys jibbed, one of his free ribbons lightly prodding the great ice dinosaur in a teasing gesture. A small frown was all that was given to Serrin's hasty retreat and the Sylveon only let it side because he had been assured that for all the Ivysaur's somewhat blunt demeanor he was an asset that would be most useful. Ignoring it then, the guildmaster turned to face forward, Linoone still held in his grip. "That's fine, I've got our wily friend here. He'll be free to go once the gathering has ended, until then he is in time out." They had one more head to introduce but naturally he was late. Of course. One couldn't expect a mercenary to keep to a schedule...
Barcel, regarding the other heads and then the guildmaster, gave a gruff snort before taking a place against a wall to lean upon and observe. He was only happy he'd not been forced to speak as it wasn't really his cup of tea. If anything he'd have just echoed Serrin. 'Yeah. Go talk to the weed. Not me.' As if sensing eyes on him the Empoleon's red gaze shifted to the side and locked onto a pair of Luxio chatting with one another nearby and he kept his eyes narrowed before giving a huff and resuming his starring contest with the wall.
Gale Jessica seemed eager to change the subject, a bit of second hand embarrassment for the Linoone being held in their guildmaster's ribbons. Gale felt the same way, it was shameful how that Pokemon had acted. "Where am I from?" He echoed, head lifted up thoughtfully, "There's a....quiet little forest not too far from here. My parents and siblings are still there, but I...wanted to see the world." He'd been fairly sheltered up until now, but no less well taken cared off. Yet there had been something tugging him into his decision to join the guild, something which he was not sure what to make of yet, but it had been a battle trying to convince his parents to let him do so. Mostly his mother, she was the one he had to fight to leave. Dad seemed mostly okay with it. "What about you?" The Pikachu smiled pleasantly then, gesturing to the Charmander with a paw. "Did you want to see the world too?" Silver The grim and thoughtful expression on the Espeon's face softened into a sincere smile. Ah. The Protect shield snapped upward and vanished as if receding into the very air itself and Silver stood with a casual stretch of his back and forelegs, pink tongue lolling out of his mouth as he did so. "Era. I remember her. Pleasant little Pikachu, very smart, very bold." The sleek Espeon sat back on his haunches, tail curling around his paws as he smiled down at the Paras chattering and fidgeting in such a nervous manner. A low purr escaped him then, a sultry and amused noise that had all but pushed his earlier expression of indifference aside. "Well, Erinn. I've no intention of hurting you! So enough with your panic now, we're a team after all! Unless, of course, you wish to go and be reassigned and that would be fine as well, but I do hope you stick around with me. It's nice to have a familiar face in this sea of new recruits. No doubt you feel the same, hm?"

Jackal | Sol His presence in the room was almost eerie.
Not his looks, definitely not that. He was small for his kind, standing just a bit over his own teams captain. He wasn't very capable of being intimidating at such a size. Rather it was the way he made his way through the hall; silently drifting by almost completely unnoticed, like a ghost. Was it just in his nature to be mysterious? Did he not want to disturb the other guests? As a solrock, this kind of behavior wasn't abnormal for them, but he seemed to be forcing himself quite a bit.
The answer is simpler than you would guess; he was incredibly embarrassed right now. As embarrassed as a rock could get, anyway. There was no excuse for his tardiness, especially at such a pleasant social gathering. It'd leave a bad impression on their team...
That's what he had told Jackal since the bell rang, but the vulpix didn't care for it. That was expected, he could barely walk the streets without being irritated by the crowd around him. Still, Sol had hoped he might be willing to put up with it, at least for today. Wasn't he serious about running a team...? He just couldn't find an algorithm that'd make him understand Jackal's reasoning. A simple "We should go" wasn't working either. Sol didn't want to force it, but one way or another he was going to get jack to come, and that meant any means necessary.
Don't ask how he tied a leash on Jackal, but he did and neither of them are thrilled.
Around the vulpix's chest was a rope made into some sort of harness around him, with the end tied to one of Sol's protrusions. He went limp in protest the minute Sol began to move, and while being literally dragged around the floor wasn't very fun he was too stubborn to let the solrock have his way. He didn't move a muscle, not even when Sol began moving near the crowds that had gathered at this little event.
The sight was odd to say the least, and while Sol was doing his best not to attract any unneeded attention the scene his partner was making was really hard to cover up.

Claudius The Aurorus sighed, shaking his head at the Guildmaster's teasing, but the smile on his face betrayed his fondness for the Sylveon. He was used Veilmys' silly nickname by now, but he certainly wasn't going to use it himself; if the rest of the Guild picked it up, Claudius wasn't quite sure what he would do. "Alright. I'll leave you to it then," he said, lifting his head back up to look around the room once more. The turnout was excellent, which was certainly promising, and things seemed to have settled down again now that the introductions had concluded. He looked around with curious eyes, trying to remember a few names from the ever-growing list of new recruits that he could match with faces. He caught the eye of a Sawsbuck and inclined his head towards her politely, but stayed where he was. Since he was too large to be wandering about the area without inconveniencing anyone, the members could come to him if they desired.Neo & Nyx Nyx didn't allow his hackles to fall again until each member of the staff that was present had finished his speech. The Vulpix was clearly unsettled by the whole affair, still not entirely relaxed even though everything had returned to a semblance of normalcy. The vulpine Fire Type stared at the Guildmaster for a long moment, though his eyes were on the Linoone rather than the Sylveon himself. He then shifted his gaze to the sparkling rock that had caused the ruckus in the first place and repeated the process before finally turning back to Peter. "It would appear not," Nyx replied, a twinge of annoyance catching in his tone. He still wasn't convinced that everything was alright, and he certainly was displeased with the two sources of the disturbance, but now wasn't the time for such concerns. "Forgive my intensity from before," he said, noticing the anxiety that had colored the Charmander's expression. He took a breath to calm his own harried nerves before continuing. "I feared that we may have been in some sort of danger, and it would be irresponsible for me to be without my partner in such a situation."
There was still some residual pressure in his mind, some nagging worry that all was not well with Neo, but so long as his partner wasn't in harm's way Nyx could ignore it. He tucked the worry safely into the back of his mind, trusting that the Meowstic would be alright with the Guild leaders present to look after everyone. "Well, now that that's been taken care of," he said, sounding cheerful once again, "It seems those are the section leaders, hm? Yours looks quite intimidating." The crimson Empoleon looked as though he resented being here at all, and Nyx couldn't help but feel that he looked more like a mercenary than a treasure hunter. Of course, he knew nothing of the Pokemon personally, so it was very possible that he was perfect for the position for reasons that weren't visible at first glance. "Of course, mine doesn't seem particularly friendly either," he added, frowning as he stared down the hall where the Ivysaur had disappeared. "It's unfortunate. I had thought I may take the opportunity to introduce myself, but it seems he's uninterested in forming relationships with the members of his sector." He'd kept track of their names--Barcel, Serrin, Claudius--and which sector they were paired with, but it seemed that was all he would learn about them this evening. Turning back to his Charmander companion, Nyx voiced his thoughts aloud. "Interesting how these events don't always turn out as planned, isn't it?"
Neo didn't manage to drag himself off the ground until long after the last speech had been given, and even then it was unsteadily at best. His balance was entirely out of whack after having his ears assaulted like that, and they were still ringing loud enough that he hadn't been able to make out any words at all--just muffled sounds from the Pokemon around him. His enhanced hearing was often so useful, but at times like these he wished he just heard things like everybody else. What he was able to tell, after a moment, was that the screaming hadn't been any cause for alarm, since everyone looked to be returning to their conversations. It was a small blessing, but a blessing nonetheless: if he'd had to defend the Guild against some sort of aggressor in this condition, it would not have ended well.
Still having no real sense of sound, the Meowstic stumbled his way over to the wall, grateful that no Pokemon had been standing between himself and his destination. When he got there, he turned around and pressed his back against it, leaning so that he was more propped up than standing on his own. He closed his eyes and tried to clear his head, but the splitting headache wasn't helping. At least the screaming had stopped: that alone was blissful relief. Neo rubbed his paws against his temples, focusing on keeping himself upright and not bothering to try opening his eyes again until his hearing had returned to him. He wouldn't be much good in a conversation if he couldn't understand what was being spoken to him, so there was no need to look for another conversation partner just yet.Erinn For the first time in the conversation the Paras relaxed, breathing a soft sigh of relief when Silver expressed recognition--even approval--of Era's name. He thought a quiet 'thank you' toward the Pikachu, knowing that she had no way of knowing it but feeling obligated to do so nonetheless: even though they were no longer on a Team together, she never stopped looking out for him, even when she wasn't here. "I-Is that so?" Erinn said, trying to keep himself from sounding too relieved, "I always thought the same about her." There were a lot of words he could use to describe Era, each more flattering than the next, but before he could start to ramble on about his former leader the Espeon spoke up again, seeming to read his mind with the casual statement.
"Oh, no! I didn't think..." the bug gave up before he started this time, his protests cut off as his mind caught up to his mouth. We-We're a team?" Erinn's eyes widened as he processed the Psychic's words, utterly astonished. How had he gotten assigned to a Team? He'd gone down to talk to the staff member at the partner assignment office when he'd been wandering through the new Guild but he hadn't... The conversation flashed through his head and he cringed at his own ignorance. So that's why she'd been so keen on getting his species name and type: here he'd thought she was just curious--she'd been one of the types originally from Five Island after all, and they were always asking questions like that.
The Paras opened his mouth to explain the misunderstanding, but then stopped himself. Maybe this wasn't so bad. Maybe this was the answer to his question of staying or leaving, and coincidence had stepped in to decide for him. Erinn looked Silver over again, finding that the Espeon seemed somewhat less intimidating than before; having someone like that on his side and starting over in this new Guild might be just what he needed to find the closure he was so desperately seeking. "I--I'd like to be your partner, yes," Erinn said, believing the words only after he'd spoken them. The Paras nodded, repeating himself. "Yes...Yes, I'd be happy to be on the same Team as you." He almost smiled: "I think we could work well together."

Skye & QuilSkye twitched her ears in concern as a Meowstic bumped past her, seeming disoriented as he slumped against the nearest wall for support. She could see his tiny claws gripping the stone, presumably the stay the vertigo that threatened to tip him over- she could see him still swaying from side to side.
The Espeon followed him quietly, unsure of how to proceed. He certainly needed someone to keep an eye on him, at least until he regained his bearings, but she rather doubted that he was aware of her presence. The loud screeching might have thrown off his senses, as she vaguely recalled that Meowstic had very sensitive ears. Their hearing was on par with some of the most powerful Pokemon species.
Cautiously, she stepped up beside him. Not wanting to surprise him while his balance was so poor, she did her best to stay within his range of vision as she sat down. "Excuse me- are you okay?" she questioned calmly, trying to convey some amount of warmth and empathy to the poor cat. He seemed to be in rough shape.
"I'm Skye; I'm here to help you," she explained, still unsure if he could hear her. Moving slow to avoid startling him, she pressed her paws to his shoulder to help steady him on his feet. Having support on both sides would help keep him from falling if his vertigo worsened.
- - - - -
The tiny Joltik on her head had shifted down onto her shoulder, wide turquoise eyes peering curiously at their dazed company. This hadn't been his first idea when Skye mentioned introducing themselves to new people, but it was certainly the right thing to do, given the situation.
Quil stepped out onto the Espeon's upper arm, using her as a bridge to get a better look at the Meowstic. He was glad that Skye was here- keeping tabs on such a large Pokemon would definitely cause problems for him alone. "What's wrong with him?" squeaked the tiny ball of golden fluff, trying to avoid being overheard by their companion. With a voice as small as his, such a volume would ordinarily not be overheard.
"I think the noise we heard earlier just disoriented him. Meowstic have very sensitive hearing, so it might have hurt to listen to if he was close by." Oh. Well that made sense. The Joltik nodded silently, four sets of eyes blinking curiously at the poor fellow who'd stood a little too close to... whatever had made the noise. He hadn't really gotten a close look at it to begin with.

A quiet little forest, huh? A home like that really suited the Pikachu. She couldn't help but think that, with how he was. Gale didn't seem like he could be from the city or from any kind of normal clan. You just didn't grow up to act like... this if you were. He was too calm, too even, too... good, almost. Maybe it was (probably) just her line of work but it was a little bit refreshing to meet someone who was simply... simple. And friendly. She wondered offhand what his parents were like, both in personality and species. It was hard to grow up like this, it was even harder to stay like this once you had grown up and his parents must have been very nice people to imbue this kind of personality into him.
Though none of that would have any bearing on her shaking her head in response to his question. "For me, it's work. I used to work on my own as a treasure hunter and a freelance worker but times have gotten tough. There's less work, paying less and with more risks... I decided that it was best for my safety if I joined the guild. The work here isn't as profitable but it's all vetted by the staff so I don't need to worry about risking my neck." Jessica rubbed her throat lightly to punctuate the idea. She hadn't wanted to join the guild at all but she wasn't going to say that.
Answer a question, ask (or prompt) a question. Basic conversation tactics."Have you done any work with the guild yet?"
Tobias, on the other hand, did something distinctly not mortifying for the first time since he had arrived. His fits and writhing suddenly stopped. He smelled the air carefully, adjusted himself and looked towards the crowd. Suddenly, he spoke. "Were I to promise that I would not to claim the Carbink again, would you perhaps let me go?" Tobias suddenly shifted, squirmed and wriggled until he was face-to-face with Veilmys, though with his own body upside down. "So long as it does not stray too close, that is. I do doubt that I could help myself if it were to commit such a grave error." His breathing was clear and obvious and he seemed to have a very limited sense of personal space, a fact that was perhaps only enhanced by the somewhat creepy smile he wore.

  Veilmys & Barcel & Ivy
"U-um, excuse me." Light paws tip-tapped over to the guild heads, a waif little Glaceon with wide eyes and a polite smile approached with her head bowed. She was a tiny Pokemon but she held herself proudly as she siddled up next to Veilmys and Claudius. "Hello! My name is Ivy and I am acting assistant for the head of the Mercenary group, his name is Ver. He is currently on a mission and unable to attend this event, but you'll meet him eventually." A soft laugh like bells echoed forth from her maw and she lifted a paw to lightly smother the noise. "I daresay, you will become more accustomed to seeking ME out for assistance in the Mercenary guild than you will him. He's more of the paws-on type, I will be doing the technical stuff such as rewards and filing your reports on successful missions."
Veilmys might have made a comment had the Linoone he was restraining not finally spoken up. He loosened his grip ever-so-slightly, allowing the Normal type to drop down lower until they were face to face, albeit the Linoone being upside down. "Is that so?" The Sylveon said with a smile, eyes closed. "I do hope you mind yourself in the future! If I catch you assaulting a fellow guild mate again no amount of apologies will spare you my wrath." He unceremoniously released the other, trusting he would land on his feet of his own accord without assistance. "Resist your impulses to bother others and I'll resist mine to throw you out~!" Behind him Barcel gave a gruff, partial chuckle before catching himself with a snort of displeasure. With nothing else of interest to him he opted to take a page out of Serrin's book and leave.
Gale He was silent as she spoke, the silence lingering moments after as he allowed her words soak into his mind. It took a moment for him to reply as he was quietly mulling over what she'd said, a smile gingerly forming across his face. She was outgoing, a lot more energetic and active than he was. While Gale himself was no slouch or lazy bones, he moved at his own pace with no real incentive to go any quicker. She was a hunter, a swift set of claws and an agile frame. He wondered vaguely how they'd do in a fight against one another. Would she be able to rapidly whittle him down to exhaustion or would he outlast her attempts until SHE was the one worn down. It was hard to say. His thoughts had gone to fighting on impulse, having taken a tendency to size himself up to others upon joining to see if his mother had been right. So far she had been wrong, Gale was hardly 'outclassed' by any means and he was beginning to think she'd been trying to scare him into staying home. All this drifted through his head before he finally responded to her question with a languid grin. "Oh yes." The Pikachu began thoughtfully, "I'm an experienced ribbon fetcher. They've moved me up to hat rescuer now. Give it a week and I'll be supplying the whole guild with a new wardrobe." The joke had been a bit of a rare impulse and he felt his cheeks burn at it. It was a terrible joke. It wasn't even that funny. His mouth wavered open in silence, yet nothing came to mind to divert from the feeble attempt at humor so he simply stood there with his mouth open in abject horror. Silver "I believe she was a good judge of character." Silver said simply, a paw lifted to his mouth and he gave it an indifferent lick before smoothing it back over his head to set his fur back into a smooth sheen. "If she chose you for her team then I have no doubt you are a good person as well. I'd be more than honored to have you on Team Phantasm." A smile flashed across his face suddenly, as bright as a child on Christmas morning, "It's a good name, yes? I've always liked the word. Do you know what it means?" Well, it didn't really matter if Erinn did or didn't as the Espeon immediately began to explain. "A phantasm, an illusion, a figment of the mind. What's real? What isn't? If you think about it carefully how can we guarantee that all of this-" A paw lifted, waved about the room in a flickering motion, "-is real? Are we real? Is this all some lucid dream we share or perhaps are some of us not truly here? Is this your dream, Erinn? Is it mine? Who is to know?" The Psychic type's body shifted, he rose to his paws and and danced in place on rapidly moving paws. "Don't you find such thoughts interesting? I've always liked the idea of living within a dream, being nonexistent. It's always made me more careless, I admit, but it adds a bit of a thrill to adventure doesn't it~?" If Erinn hadn't been able to keep up with the feline's strange rampant then it wouldn't be anything strange or new. Keeping up with Silver was not expected, nor was it preferred, but a simple nod or brief word of acknowledgement to his insane prattling would suffice.

It was an awful joke. There was no escaping that fact. It was undeniably, unshakably, untouchably bad.
But she still laughed. It wasn't uproarious or excessive but rather a solid laugh. Jessica was an "adult" in name only and she wasn't much older or much more socially experienced than Gale was. Most of her interaction with others was curt, strictly professional and often brutal. She was letting her guard down. She knew she was. She was consciously aware of that fact but the atmosphere around her was infectious. It was fine for her to lower her guard here, wasn't it? Just a little bit? This was going to be her home from now on... as long as she didn't get burned she didn't have a reason to leave. "It was a bit of a silly mission, wasn't it? I get that they have to be careful with who they let join but a ribbon of all things?"
One could only wonder where Veilmys got the inspiration for such a mission.
"Not an assault!" Tobias flipped around in midair and landed on his feet. He suddenly darted forwards and then around Veilmys, only to stop after having done most of a circle around him. His face came somewhat close to Veilmys's as he slipped in beside him. "Merely a claim and though it is difficult for me to help myself against such... instinct, it is for that reason that I am invaluable as a seeker of valuables is it not?" Tobias slipped forward, past Veilmys and then turned around to face him once last time. "But I accept. I have found one of my own within the crowd and I am afraid I must tend to that, though I am sure we shall see each other at a later time." With no further words, Tobias stepped back and disappeared into the crowd.
Tobias had only caught a brief view of him but the smell had been quite clear. It was the stench of one who was not dissimilar to himself. The stench of avarice wasn't one you could wash away. It stayed with you, much like the stench of blood. It was very clear here and Tobias was quite happy to slip through the crowd in order to make his way to the source. For anyone else, the sight of the Solrock ineffectually dragging a Vulpix would have been strange but Tobias didn't even give it a second thought. Such things were simply a part of how they were. Such questions were fundamentally meaningless.
He was quite pleased to find that he had been correct. Yes, the Vulpix was definitely one of his own. "Hello, brother. How does the day greet you?"
Sol was completely ignored.

The scare of the loud sound was over quite a bit ago, and Serena honestly felt much better now, bouncing around happily, as if she was suddenly high on sugar. She started to mess around, climbing on Salvatore's tail and playfully jumping a top of him. "WEEEE, we gonna be best buds." The Fennekin replied excited, she was glad she got to meet someone as nice as Salvatore, and honestly she'd rather be meeting others too but everyone seemed to busy talking with someone else so its not like she could just shove herself into someone else's conversation. She climbed off her partner, feeling a bit of awkwardness. "Uhhh..sorry." She noticed Salvatore looking around as if he either didn't really notice, or didn't mind. Either way was totally fine with her, as she continued to look around if anyone wanted to chat. Claudius There was an awful lot of coming and going between his coworkers: it seemed somewhat...disorganized. Truth be told they hadn't rehearsed their appearance here at all, so it was to be expected on some level, but the Aurorus had expected their presence to be required for the remainder of the event. Ah well. The others had their own ways of tending to these things that were effective in their own right: part of what made their collaborative work so well was precisely that--their differences. Claudius paid little mind to Barcel's departure, preoccupied with the Linoone's path instead, particularly after the Pokemon's peculiar interaction with Veilmys; only when he saw the Normal Type initiate a (non-physical) interaction with a peculiar looking Vulpix did the Aurorus turn his attention back to those beside him.
"If he's that drawn to anything that shines, I imagine Barcel will be able to make good use of him," Claudius remarked, looking down at Veilmys, "So long as he has a partner who can keep those urges in check." The Aurorus didn't doubt his friend's judgment; the Sylveon had had a paw in the Team assignments, which could only mean good things. Turning his gaze to the newest arrival, Claudius smiled, pleased to see the Glaceon had stepped up for her absent partner. "Good to have you with us Ivy," he said, nodding in greeting, "You haven't missed much."Neo He felt the presence of the other Pokemon rather than hearing her at first. It had to be a Psychic because someone else was radiating soothing emotions towards him, and it didn't feel the same as Veilmys' Calm Mind from before. Neo opened his eyes just as she reached up to touch him, and they widened in shock at her proximity: an Espeon with strange markings, reaching up to help steady him against the wall. He took a moment to register it all, not having heard her words from before, but it was clear that she was trying to help him, so he settled on a smile after a moment, albeit a tentative one.
The Meowstic did his best to focus, trying to take in what he could about the Pokemon in front of him, and caught sight of a small yellow creature on her shoulder. After a series of rapid blinks, it registered that he was looking at another Pokemon--a Joltik who was watching him with concerned eyes. It made Neo feel warm inside to know that these two had cared to come over to look after him, and he felt a wave a gratitude sweep over him. The Psychic's ears twitched as he heard the echo of a voice at last: the tail-end of the Espeon's comment finally making it through to him as the ringing in his ears began to die down a bit. "Y-yeah... My ears can't handle very high frequencies." His voice sounded distant to him, like he was hearing it from far away. Neo hoped it wasn't too loud or too soft, unable to gauge the volume very well as of yet. He made to stand up straight, but immediately fell back against the wall when he felt the world begin to spin. Right. The hearing was coming back but his balance wasn't doing quite so well yet. "I really need to work on it..." he said, chagrined. "I can't handle it at all if the sound is too prolonged. Most Pokemon would be fine after a minute, but I'm...unique." It had long been an area of fascination with his colorful family, and one that no one could really explain, but it would take a while to explain all of that to the Espeon and Joltik. He looked up at the pair again, green eyes bright with suppressed pain and obvious appreciation for their concern. "My name's Neo by the way. Thanks for helping me out like this."Erinn Erinn would have responded to Silver's first question, but the Espeon was already barreling ahead into an explanation before he could open his mouth, so the Paras listened patiently, trying to keep track of everything that was said. The difficulty increased when he picked up speed, driven on by his own excitement, but Erinn managed to gather most of it. When Silver had finished, and seemed to be waiting for a reaction, the Paras stared at him for a long moment. Then he started to laugh.
It was an incredibly rare occurrence for Erinn to laugh at all, let alone around someone who he'd just met, but the Paras couldn't help it. The sound came out in a pleasant manner, accented by the occasional clicking of his mandibles, and it was clear that the laughter wasn't born of malice, but some combination of hysteria and delight. When he managed to calm himself enough to speak, Erinn explained himself to his partner. "I'm sorry, it's just... You remind me so much of someone else I know. You two should really meet sometime." Irilyss would have a ball with him, if this was the sort of thing he thought about on a regular basis. He hadn't seen the Gardevoir in a while, but knowing her she would be around somewhere. Ever since the last time, the Paras had grown to believe that she was always watching, somewhere just out of sight. "If she ever comes to visit the Guild, I'll be sure to introduce the two of you." Not only that, but it would keep her at a safe distance from him, so he wouldn't have to worry about any troubles she might bring with her. Erinn, like the others, had never forgotten what Irilyss was capable of.
"I do like the name though: it's unusual, so no one will forget it." Erinn didn't know how much of a phantasm he or anyone else was--maybe Silver himself could make an argument for it, but the Paras himself was more wary of such things. If he considered the idea too closely it would give him all the more reason to be afraid; he didn't need the added pressure of doubting his own existence when his life was fabricated of maintaining that same fragile existence as best he could. But maybe if he thought of his fear as the phantasm...? No, it was too much. The best he could do for now was agree to the name--he'd figure out the rest eventually. "So Team Phantasm then," he said, pushing past the mountain of questions that threatened to consume his mind, "They have different sectors in this Guild, right? There were multiple Guilds in my time, so that's a new idea to me. Which one are we a part of?"

Team CatalystMembers Present: Keivera & Arlyn As the Linoone was deposited back on the ground Keivera lookd down at Arlyn. She kept her expression somewhat neutral as she spoke to him. "Come on, let's go speak to our leader. We can introduce ourselves at the very least." As finished speaking she dipped her head down to allow Arlyn to climb onto her head. When they were kids he rode on her back, but now that she was much larger, it was easier just to allow him to cling to her antlers as he perched atop her head.Arlyn didn't argue with her as she dipped her head down for him to climb up. It was relatively easy for him to step up and hold onto her antlers, one paw on each. And now that everything had settled down again, he had a moment to reflect on everything that had happened this morning up till now. Keivera had been rather annoyed with him earlier over his refusal to get out of bed. Earlier she had mentioned that she was going to make him explain to everyone why they were late. That wasn't the reason for her wanting them to go talk to Claudius, was it? He certainly hoped not. Although the Aurorus seemed friendly enough, his size was rather intimidating. With Arlyn secured on her head, Keivera carefully moved forward in Claudius' direction. As she got closer she heard part of the exchange between the two leaders and the assistant to the mercenary leader. She hadn't heard her name originally when she had introduced herself, but thankfully it didn't matter. Claudius addressed her by name when he spoke to her. When she finally got close enough she waited for an opening in the conversation before speaking. "Claudius, yes? Since you stayed after your introduction, I thought it would be best if I came and introduced my partner and I since you're the head of our division. My name is Keivera and this," she tilted her head up slightly, her eyes following as if she were trying to peer through her own skull to look at the small Marill, "is Arlyn. We're Team Catalyst."As Keivera introduced them, Arlyn smiles lightly and released one of Keivera's antlers so that he could wave. Up close the Aurorus looked even bigger than he had previously. He was standing at a slight angle where Keivera was having to keep her head tilted back slightly to look at their leader directly. Again he wondered if she intended to embarrass him to try and make a point, or if she had been merely trying to get his attention. Although it was possible, he doubted that she'd simply forgotten. "Hello." He wasn't going to say anymore than that. Right now he wanted to wait and see if introductions was all that Keivera had come over here for.

Skye & QuilSkye watched with concern as the Meowstic's eyes slid into focus. She could see the change in his expression as he was able to concentrate on her, and the slight slackening of his posture as his symptoms faded. This was progress, at the very least.
She felt waves of gratitude and relief pouring off of him as his psychic energy was focused in turn with his other senses, and she felt a bubble of happiness bubble in her stomach. She was glad to see that he was recovering, and that he was appreciative of their help.
As he spoke his voice was perhaps a little louder than normal, but luckily for him, it was still below the volume of the room. It only sounded a little strange to be standing next to him- a side effect of the hearing problems, she assumed.
She was quickly drawn from her thoughts as he tried to straighten his posture away from the wall too early, and she hurriedly supported his shoulders with a burst of psychic energy. It wasn't terribly visible, aside from a light shimmer of white around him, mostly as a result of her attempts to be as gentle as possible. She'd rather not knock him off balance in her attempts to prevent the same problem.
The Espeon smiled warmly as she met his gaze. "It's no problem- we're just glad to see that you're okay. We were a little worried that it might've been more than just your hearing," she replied, her long, straight tail twitching behind her as she sat with him. "It's a pleasure to meet you, though. You can call me Skye, if you'd like. And this is Quil- he's my co-captain." She gestured to the tiny Joltik on her shoulder, who smiled the best that he could in response.

Quil brightened as he was introduced, carefully scuttling forward along Skye's extended foreleg. Clutched in his tiny claws was a bundle of something white and fluffy, which he immediately offered to the dizzy Meowstic. As though sensing that this might be a point of confusion for his new acquaintance, he flushed with embarrassment and ducked his head a little. "Silk earplugs. For noise, I mean. If it gets too loud again, I thought they'd help."
He felt Skye shift, and knew instinctively that she was surprised by the offer. He didn't often speak, since it was difficult to hear his voice in a noisy room. Then again, he was also quite close to this Pokemon, so he should be able to hear him relatively well. Just in case, he split apart the two earplugs so that Neo could see for himself.
The little Joltik had spun them himself- such things didn't take very long for a species of Pokemon that was often responsible for the structuring of an entire web. He just hoped that it wasn't too presumptuous to offer such things, as his interactions with other Pokemon was generally limited to Skye and their families.

Claudius The Aurorus turned his head at the sound of his name, pleasantly surprised to find the Sawsbuck from before had approached him, along with a Marill who perched between her antlers. "If you'll excuse me for a moment," he said to the pair of Eeveelutions beside him, turning to give the Sawsbuck and Marill duo his undivided attention.
"Keivara, Arlyn," Claudius said with a smile, greeting each in turn. "It's a pleasure to meet you both." He hadn't yet had the chance to memorize all of the files that informed him of the new teams, so it was nice to have some contact with them, to help their names and faces take hold in his memory. "It's a privilege to have you in my sector." It took a certain amount of bravery to approach one's leader, especially when that leader was someone as intimidating in appearance as Claudius knew himself to be: looming several feet over those around him didn't make him seem any friendlier, that was certain. His looks however, were deceiving, and the Aurorus was always pleased when others overcame any hesitations and gave him the chance to prove it to them. It probably helped that Keivara herself was quite tall--he only needed to look down, rather than bed his neck, to meet her gaze, and Arlyn was a mere foot below the top of his head, closer to his eye level than any Pokemon (who wasn't a Flying Type) had been in a long time. Watching them with interest, Claudius continued the conversation. "Have you been enjoying your time at the Guild thus far?" He was genuinely curious to know how the new members were faring, and if there was anything that could be improved. A part of his job was to ensure the welfare of those under his leadership, and it was important to him that they adjusted well to Guild life.Neo Once again steady pressure pushed against his side, helping to steady him when he faltered, and he recognized the feel of the Psychic energy that took the place of her paws. He could hear her now though, relatively clearly, when she introduced herself and the Joltik on her shoulder, and he smiled, feeling the glowing positive energy from the two of them. He never focused on such things very much with non-Psychics, ever since his mother had told him some Pokemon would get offended if they could feel you prying at their thoughts and feelings like that, but when the other Pokemon was a Psychic too, Neo figured it was just an added component to the conversation. He was grouping Quil in with Skye of course, but the Joltik didn't seem to mind, so he took that as a sign of acceptance. It was nice to feel the good will of this pair--it made the Meowstic want to purr with delight. First Serena and Salvatore, now Skye and Quil: if everyone in this Guild was like the Pokemon he'd met, then this was a wonderful place indeed.
Neo's eyes widened as the Joltik made his way forward, extending something large and fluffy that looked like a miniature cloud. Quil's explanation was loud and clear in his recovering ears, despite the small Pokemon's miniature voice, and the Meowstic stared at the gift in awe. His eyes were a little brighter than usual as he extended his paw to accept them, trying to keep from blinking too much so he wouldn't embarrass himself in front of his new friends: Neo was sensitive to a fault sometimes, and the act of kindness touched his heart enough to prompt tears of happiness. "Thank you...so much," he said, his voice little more than a whisper as he struggled to suppress the tears, "It really means a lot to me." They felt so soft in his paw, but also strong and durable: he could tell they would help if it ever happened again. Neo didn't know what he'd done to deserve such kindness, but he was overwhelmed with appreciation for it.
"You two are so thoughtful," he said, once he'd finally managed to control his emotions enough to speak properly. "I'm almost glad that...whatever caused that noise happened, since it let me meet both of you." It would have been nice if the pain could have been avoided, but getting introduced to Skye and Quil was worthwhile regardless. Deciding not to risk moving from the wall again, even though his hearing had almost returned to normal, he smiled at them instead, cradling his silken treasure in his left paw. "My partner's name is Nyx, but we split up a bit earlier, and I lost track of him in all the commotion. We're a Rescue Team--Team Essence. I, um..." Neo felt his ears tingle with the heat of embarrassment, not wanting to sound over-eager. "I'd love to introduce you sometime. If you'd like to come by and visit or anything." He would have offered to introduce them here if he knew where his partner was, but he didn't know the first place to start looking, and he wasn't sure how much of a good idea it would be to wander around in his current state. Besides, it gave him an excuse to see them again if they accepted. These were Pokemon he wanted to be friends with: they'd been so nice without even knowing anything about him, and he'd love to be able to show them kindness in turn.

Skye & QuilQuil's own eyes watered with joy as the Meowstic accepted his gift. He was not psychic like his companions, but he felt sure that he could feel how happy their new friend was. It made him feel warm inside, like the heat of sunlight on a clear summer day.
Blushing sheepishly, he crawled back up onto Skye's shoulder- he felt more physically secure up here, since it was less likely to shift and shake him off. Not that she'd ever do that, but it was still safer.
"It doesn't take much time, really. I hope they help." The Joltik was very much embarrassed by the genuine warmth of Neo's response, but pleased that he'd managed to elicit such strong emotions from him. It didn't help that between the two psychic-types around him, he was sitting in waves of happy emotions- he felt almost giddy, even despite his natural shyness.

Skye beamed at her teammate for his quick thinking, though most of her attention was still devoted to helping Neo stay upright. He was very tearful and sincere, traits she wasn't used to finding in guild Pokemon. Normally everyone was very preoccupied with ensuring their appearances remained intact, that they were seen as strong and capable. Neo was refreshingly honest, and it made her very glad in turn to have met him. It reminded her of a friend from many years ago.
"As long as that noise isn't going to be around every time we meet, I'd agree with that," she giggled quietly, her tone still fairly sympathetic for the pain she figured would still be fading from his head. She was trying to keep the volume of her voice to a minimum.
"That sounds like a great idea, Neo- we'd love to visit you and Nyx. The other way around could work, also, but we haven't actually moved into our team room, yet," she admitted sheepishly. They had technically come straight here from the partner assignment office. She sensed her partner nod in agreement, eager to visit more with the friendly Meowstic.
"I guess we should probably be doing that now, really. I think it's alright if we stay a little longer, at least until you're back on your feet. We're Team Sunstrike, if you ever need to find us through the guild."
