Tomlin considered the mauvian headquarters as a safe place, one of the few he acknowledged. Concentrated as he was on the components before him, he was slower to react to the strange clicking sound than he might have been in the outside world. The blast knocked him head over tail through the work area. He shook his head, fur bristling under the dust and electronic scraps.

No-one can get in here but us, he assured himself, staring after the two cats who headed into the darkness, but the words didn’t make it to his mouth as the sickening scent of youma wafted out of the hole. Clearly he’d been misinformed. Did this mean their shields were down? He hoped not, especially when ********* changed form - and then a second time. That was a neat trick.

Breaking all its legs did seem like a good idea, but might take some time. The ginger guardian aimed his claws at the gaping mouth, figuring the thing would back off if he removed some of its teeth.

And then the screeching started. Tomlin fell back to the floor after his swipe, trying to squish his own ears against his head to block the sound.

Liryn could hear other cats joining the fray as he once again launched himself at the snaky youma thing with claws out.

Perhaps he should have been worried, after all the snaky, centipedey thing with far, far too many legs was so very much bigger than most of them there. Or perhaps he should have been afraid for very much the same reasons.

He was not - he had handled youma before and whilst perhaps they hadn't been quite so big (apart from that insult to cat one that they'd come across on that night that the curious shiny meteor things had fallen) - that didn't mean that this youma couldn't be taken down.

His claws struck hard and dug in, enough so for him to be pretty certain that he'd drawn blood but had had to abandon his planned follow up swipe in favour of having to spring out of the way of a piece of flailing body that had threatened to flatten him.

He'd managed it, albeit barely but had not been so lucky at avoiding the screech, his kitty ears ringing painfully from the sound of the screech.

Snowball's tail twitched as he listened and watched what was happening as others attacked limbs and the monster let out a screeching wail, his ears pinned down and he crouched down. When he caught a second he rushed forward with his claws and slashed fairly successfully at the monster.

She might have had a human-like form, but she still had the sensitive ears of the cat. Said ears pinned against her skull as the monster shrieked.

Briefly contemplating where she should toss the next energy ball, she instead rolled the cool and warm colored balls of energy in her palms.

Several cats were attacking with their Mauvian claws, though a familiar voice cried out about protecting the computers. A blue-haired individual seemed to pop up out of nowhere, with an impressive cape.

"Oh! It's Ash..." she murmured, familiarity in the voice clicking with the appearance.

Inhaling a bit, she chucked the second ball of energy at the youma.

He could hear what sounded like an argument and Ash yell something about not letting the youma near the computers, the voices mingling painfully with the ringing in his ears from the youma's low and nasty screech thing.

Ash logic was kind of sound though for all that Liryn wished that she could have made her point a bit more quietly - although that was just because of the horrible ringing.

Ringing or no ringing however, Liryn knew that he couldn't stop - not whilst the youma was still there and not whilst his fellow cats were fighting - he had to continue to do his part too - especially since the youma was still flinging itself around.

So once again he tried to claw the nearest bit of the youma - after all his claws had been serving him well enough - even if his attempt this time was not as great as his previous attempts.

It didn't matter - after all there was always the next time.

The youma's hard shell was scratching and flaking; more than a few of its legs were bent at odd angles or were broken. It might have underestimated the Mauvians, but there was still a fight left in the monster—even if it hadn't been able to catch one of the little creatures in its mouth.

It seemed confused that its bite-sized snack had the ability to grow larger; with some of the cats shifting forms, it seemed to grow a bit more frantic. The energy signatures must have been affecting it; it writhed and thrashed. Its rear end smashed into a wall, denting it. The computers were safe—for now—but it was on a rampage. Hurling its body in every direction, it missed the computer by mere inches.

The violent shaking damaged headquarters—though perhaps not in the way it intended. A light knocked loose from the ceiling; the bulb shattered and the room dimmed. While visibility had decreased, there was at least some small reason for the Mauvians to celebrate—the light panel and bulb smashed into the head of the youma. It took 10 damage and froze for a long second. Glass seemed to have stuck itself between some of the plating on its head--and worse for it, into some of its many beady little eyes.

The thrashing stopped, but it seemed to have a new tactic; in a disgusting display, it seemed to be trying to cough something up. A toxic stench wafted from its mouth and as it flung it's head around, small speckles of a steaming, green liquid splattered the ground. The worst part of the ooze was not even its grotesque stench—it was the fact that after only a few seconds it seemed to be eating away at the everything it touched.

…And the youma looked like it was about to cough up a whole batch of it.
