Leev Post The second of the three followed a moment later, with what Leev would have called a pitiful attack. She smiled at him, too, and she would have laughed if she could. But there WERE two of them attacking her now, and focus was necessary. She aimed a kick in his direction, and then cursed herself for misjudging the blow. HP: 30/40 Target: Jake Damage: Nope. His first attack had been so strong that it had, perhaps, made Lukas cocky -- certain that the pair of them were at least evenly matched, he swung with a bit more style and a bit less substance. It meant that the tip of his weapon came within inches of the horsewoman's clothing, without quite landing an actual hit on her. He sucked in a breath and braced himself for retaliation. HP: 34/40 Charge: 1/3 DMG: 0 u.u

Leev Post Still cursing at herself, she whirled, for the first of the humans was making an attack again. He didn't connect, and Leev kept her smile on. They were feisty, these hunters, if nothing else. For this one, the one whose weapons glowed with red, she had another swing of her sword. But she was still off her game, it seemed, for she seemed to do little more than graze him. HP: 30/40 Target: Lukas Damage: 1

Jake saw Sherry go down, and thought the horseman had attacked her.
"Sherry!"
He saw the kick out of the corner of his eye and pulled away just in time. He wanted to check if she was ok, but then the horsewoman turned on Lukas, and he knew if they didn't take care of her first, it'd only cause more problems.
Perhaps Lukas' first hit had helped disorient her a little, and he attempted to take advantage of that.
And take advantage of it he did. With her back turned to him, Jake sliced his blade against her back.

Sherry waved at Jake as she tried to right herself. She would have said something, but sand was in her mouth and it was not very pleasant. "Pfpht!" She tried her best to spit it out.
Her head felt funny, too.

Leev Post The blow caught her off guard, sent her staggering. She'd not seen it. Her smile fell away. Perhaps they were too many? Maybe. But she still stood a chance. For they were humans, and they were weak. She still wasn't sure where the third had gone, but she knew she should be able to handle two. She spun, her own blade connecting with the Hunter who had been behind her. HP: 21/40 Target: Jake Damage: 6

His aim was off, but at least he was light on his feet -- Leev's blow only glancing, only catching the very edge of his shield. Lukas blew out a breath and shot a look back toward his compatriots, frustrated. "I can't seem to hit her again." Even as he said it, he ducked in to swing at the horseman and caught only empty air. HP: 33/40 Charge: 1/3 DMG: 0 u.u

Leev Post Leev smirked as she whirled again. She had to admit they could hit hard, but that was only when they hit. Never mind her own misses- it was to be expected, she was fighting at least two-to-one. The odds might not have been in her favor, but as far she was concerned skill was. Her fist followed her path around, aiming for the hunter with the red runes on his weapons. "Keep trying," she hissed at him. HP: 21/40 Target: Lukas Damage: 3

Of course it wouldn't be that easy.
Jake was thankful for the shield, and grunted as he tried to block her blow, getting pushed back by the impact.
"Don't be discouraged!"
And then the horseman took the words right out of his mouth, and Jake couldn't help grinning.
"Like she said."
Those words would be her downfall.

She got to her feet, and saw the horseman was still on hers. Well, at least it didn't look like she had any friends. That was something to be thankful for. Unless of course they were waiting, hiding, hoping to ambush them while their backs were turned.
Armagnac growled and Sherry nodded. Didn't matter if there were more hiding, they had to do something about the one they could see.
So, Sherry stepped in and took a swing.

Leev Post The next two hits came one after the other. The first one, from the enemy she'd been whirling to hit again, hit her solidly. She was not happy about it, and it did cause a stumble in her step. The next hit came from behind, but not from the Hunter she knew was there, but from the third one, the one she'd lost track of. Leev stumbled, her sword arching out in a failed attempt at a counter. It was possible she'd over-estimated herself, or under-estimated the opponent. "Three on one," she muttered to herself. One on one, she was certain they wouldn't have a chance. HP: 4/40 Target: Sherry Damage: .... WELP

It would have been nice if, once again, he'd been the one to deliver the final blow -- would have made up for the fact that he couldn't seem to hit the damned horseman -- so maybe Lukas was tensed with a healthy dose of hope behind it. That didn't happen. Instead he came up short, again, blowing out an annoyed puff of air. HP: 30/40 Charge: 1/3 DMG: 0 u.u

Hope was never a bad thing. Just unfortunate when one depended on it and it never seemed to carry through.
Thankfully, they had more than just hope. Skill was also on their side.
With one more swing, Jake delivered the final blow, glad that they were finally rid of the menace. At least, he hoped. There weren't more, were there?

Leev Post The horseman felt the blow, felt her essence give way. She was angry and tired and she had lost. Lost to these lowly little things. Clearly it was simply because they had ganged up on her. She managed a glare, managed to breathe one little word: "Soon..." She dissipated, the Fear holding her together dissolving away. HP: NOPE
