The mugging had turned instantly bad with the other trainer now fighting back and quite effectively even though he seemed so shy and withheld a Pichu could scare him onto a table. Yukie pressed the assault for as long as he could until finally the Treecko itself joined in on the attack. Pounding on his head and fairly hard at all. Now forced to release the ball and escape the pokemon Yukie retreated back now free from both the trainer and his pokemon. "Blast, It can't be helped." Without his prize Yukie fled into the city and away from the trainer hopping to avoid any cops. Heading for the train station to make his grand escape to the Sinnoh but nothing was going right today and it didn't take long for the cops to catch up to him. Slipping past a few and running from the last Yukie ran head long for an open train door jumping in and avoiding capture for only seconds. As the train began to pull off Yukie flipped the cop the bird and swore at the man before slipping into trains crowds. Those who had seen the events quickly lost track of Yukie as he found a hiding place and would now await his arrival in the Sinnoh. But the bad knews kept on when the announcer sounded of the radio. "Next stop New Bark Town, Johto." Truly for his beginnings as a Team royal grunt his like of crime wasn't starting off that great of a start. "Son of a b***h!"

Cameron let out a couple of quiet groans as he tried to sit back up once the thief let go of the Pokeball. He heard some people shouting, which certainly explained why the red-haired teen suddenly decided to give up and run off. For his part, the Treecko jumped off of the thief's back once he started running away, then ran over to his trainer as the black-haired teen steadied himself. The two watched the apparent girl with bright red hair run back into the town and get chased by cops for a moment, then the Treecko stepped aside slightly to give his trainer room to stand back up. Again. Apparently, today was not a lucky day for anyone in the Hoenn region, or at least anyone in Littleroot.
Once he was yet again on his feet, and this time with no one trying to push or pull him over, the black-haired teen dusted off his clothes, frowning at the grass and dirt stains that were now ingrained in the fabric. Once he got as much of the grime off as he could, the teen made his way back towards the town proper. He let out a slight grunt as his Treecko climbed back up onto his shoulder, but didn't break his stride. He reached the main part of town just in time to see someone - likely his attacker - show the cops his middle finger as he rode out of the region on a train. Both the newbie trainer and his starter groaned and put a hand over their face at the sight, although Cameron had to be careful to avoid bumping his glasses.
After they saw that their target got away, most of the cops in the area dispersed. A couple of them noticed the scuffed up trainer with the Treecko on his shoulder, though, and glanced at one another before approaching the teen."Excuse me. Sir?"one of them asked as the duo approached the teen, causing Cameron to turn and look at the police officers."U-um... Yes?"the teen managed to stutter as he was approached."Were you the one calling out a little while ago?"
Cameron nodded at the officer's question, looking rather nervous even though he knew full well that he had no reason to be."Y-yes, sir. The person that got on that train attacked me and tried to take my Treecko's Pokeball,"he answered, his starter nodding from where he was perched."Tree! Tree treecko tree!"the Pokemon added, although neither the officers nor the black-haired trainer could understand what the Pokemon was saying exactly. Cameron guessed that he was trying to supply additional information, which was nice and all, but the language gap meant that it couldn't be understood.
The officer that had spoken to Cameron nodded while the other officer jotted a few things down on a notepad."I see. Can you think of any reason that person might have targeted you?"the man in the uniform asked, prompting a firm nod from the timid teen."This Treecko is the starter that didn't get stolen from the batch Professor Birch was robbed of. Not only that, the girl that attacked me looked a lot like the thief that pushed past me, the professor, and another guy who was getting his Pokemon."That bit of information made the questioning officer raise his eyebrow. In addition, the officer with the notepad glanced at the teen before going back to taking notes.

The discussion between Cameron and the police officers continued for a short while longer. For the most part, all he had left that didn't delve into possible theories was a pair of descriptions. One of his attacker, and one of the thief that ran past him. Even with his suspicions, Cameron was still willing to describe them as separate people. After all, they might not have been the same person. The girl that attacked him could be the thief's sister or cousin or something along those lines. Whatever the situation, it was better to consider the two as separate individuals than try and insist that they may have been the same person.
Shaking his head as the officers went off to secure the scene and question other witnesses, the black-haired male went off to find somewhere to relax for a bit. After all the excitement he just went through, he wanted to try doing something to calm himself and his Treecko down. The older teen walked for a while until he reached an open area near the main entrance to the town. Once there, the black-haired teen carefully shrugged off his backpack and set it on the ground before digging through it. It didn't take long for Cameron to find what he was looking for and pull out a long, slender box. Popping the lid off revealed what looked to be and was a flute, although this one was made of a clear glass that had delicate flowers of varying colors and their stems painted along the length of the fragile instrument. Cameron considered himself quite lucky that the glass flute did not break during the scuffle with the attempted thief.
The teen decided to start out slow, quietly practicing scales with the flute. After his fingers loosened up and the boy's breathing was under control, he started to mess around a bit, jumping randomly from one note to the other. After a while, he settled into the melody of one of the more fun tunes he liked to play. Occasionally he had to transpose a lower part up an octave or more due to the instrument he used, but aside from that and some slips of the fingers, it sounded about as close to the original tune as a lone person playing a single instrument could get. The Treecko, meanwhile, had to stay off his trainer's shoulders while he was playing due to how the instrument had to be held and ended up sitting nearby wile humming along to the song.

Cameron had looped back to near the beginning of the song to play through it again when he started hearing something bark at him. As the barking continued, the black-haired teen lowered his flute and looked for the source. It was a Zigzagoon, and apparently the small creature was trying to play the part of music critic. The Treecko that had been listening to the song said something back, and for a short while Cameron just watched with an amused look as the two Pokemon bickered. He couldn't understand a word either of them were saying, but it looked like the two were getting more annoyed at one another.
Eventually, the Zigzagoon lept at the Treecko, only to get swatted away with the grass starter's tail. The hit looked to be a fairly strong one, and it left the normal type dazed for a few moments. Cameron considered tossing a Pokeball to try and capture the creature, but decided against it due to there not really being much of a place to heal injured Pokemon within the town. Yes, he could have gone up to Oldale to get the Zigzagoon healed if he captured it, but after all the traveling he had done just to get to the town and the attempted mugging that had occurred a little while ago, the black-haired teen just didn't feel up to trying to head back to Oldale. At least, not at the moment. So, he let the Zigzagoon run back into the bushes, then looked down at his Treecko.
"Looks like you're a quick little guy,"he commented, then blinked a couple times before smiling."That's right. I should probably give you a name of some sort. Just so I'm not calling you Treecko all the time."Cameron watched as the green gecko Pokemon thought about the idea, then grinned when he got a nod and a couple of syllables in return."Great! So... Hmm... What do you think of Allegro as a name?"The Treecko thought for a moment, repeating a few syllables under his breath as if testing out the word, then finally gave a nod of approval before climbing up onto his trainer's shoulder.

There really wasn't much to do in the little town. The only things that had actually been interesting were receiving his Pokemon and almost getting robbed. No wonder trainers typically moved on as soon as they could. Even the Treecko was starting to look restless as he hung over his trainer's shoulder. The movements Allegro made caused the teen to sigh lightly as he looked over at the Pokemon."Alright, we'll leave in a little while. Just give me a while to finish resting and pack up,"Cameron said to the grass type before pulling a long piece of string with a soft piece of cloth tied to one end and a small, plastic weight attached to the other out of the box his flute had been in, along with a thin plastic rod. There was one more thing he needed to grab, a larger piece of soft cloth, but that could wait until he had the inside of the flute cleaned.

Allegro probably can't handle all of the Pokemon outside of town yet... I probably should avoid getting into battles until he's a bit stronger...Cameron let the thoughts run through his head as he carefully dropped the weight on the end of the string through the opening for the flute, used the rod to tuck the cloth in the section just past the mouthpiece to get that last little nook, then pulled the cloth through the length of the glass flute to get the moisture out from inside it. Not that there was much to get out, as he hadn't been playing it long, but it was still a good idea to clean it out after each use.
The black-haired teen's thoughts continued as he put away the string, cloth, and rod and brought out the larger cloth for rubbing his fingerprints and whatever grime might have been on his hands off the outside of the instrument.Maybe I'll just check out that flower shop past the woods and double back. I didn't get to poke my head in while I was there, and it looked like a nice place.The teen gently rubbed the instrument clean as the thoughts rattled around in his head, then wrapped the cloth around the flute for a bit of extra protection before tucking it back into the foam and closing up the box. All that was left for him to do was tuck the box back into his bag and shoulder the pack again, which took almost no time at all."Well, hope you're ready for a bit of a ride. We'll be checking out a store I saw on the way out here,"he said to the starter that, after having moved aside for the teen to wear the backpack, was now sitting on his shoulder.

As Cameron kept his eyes open for another opponent, a rather plain-looking man carrying an egg of some sort was wandering about nearby. The man had a concerned look on his face, but his expression brightened considerably when he noticed the black-haired male."Sir? Excuse me! Sir?"the man called out to get the glasses-wearing teen's attention as he made his way over to the male. He had to shift the egg he was carrying for a moment as well so that he could wave at Cameron to further grab the teen's attention.
The black-haired male blinked a couple of times as he heard someone call out. Turning to look, he saw the man approach him while carrying some sort of Pokemon egg."Um... Y-yes...?"Although Cameron sounded shaky, the older man figured the teen would do fine for what he had in mind."From the looks of you, you're a trainer. Yes? I was hoping you would be able to help me out with a little problem,"the man started, giving the younger male a light smile."See, a couple of friends of mine had an arrangement. One's a researcher at Devon while the other's a breeder. My pal at Devon is working on something that's supposed to help breeders, but needed some eggs to run a few tests. The guy at the breeding center was able to send most of the spare eggs donated from trainers that had a few Pokemon too many, but there's been a bit of a mix-up."
The man paused a moment in his explanation in order to shift the egg's position and keep from dropping it by accident."See, this is one of the eggs that was supposed to be sent over, but it ended up in Oldale's Pokemon center instead. Since I live up there, my breeder buddy asked if I'd take it to Rustboro, but there's a bit of a problem. I'm no trainer, you see, and getting through Petalburg Woods without a Pokemon for protection is difficult enough when you're not carrying an egg with you. If something tried to attack me, there's a good chance I'd drop this poor thing in the scuffle..."The man's expression faltered a bit as worry crossed his face at the idea, but he perked back up as he held the egg out to Cameron.
"Anyway, since you look to be a trainer with at least a few strong Pokemon, I was hoping you could run this egg up to my friend at Devon Corporation in my place."The request made Cameron falter a bit, more from the idea of heading inside such a large building when he didn't know anyone inside, but eventually nodded and took the egg."A-alright... I guess..."the teen replied shakily, a little concerned but figuring he could try to give the guy a hand. The response seemed to cheer the other man up right away."Great! Oh, don't worry about having to find the guy. I'll make sure to give him a call while you're on your way. You're looking for a guy named Evan, and just let him know that David sent you. You mind giving me your name, so I can let him know who to wait for?"
"R-right... It's Cameron..."The older man seemed confused by the teen's continued hesitation in speaking, but still gave a large grin."Alright then, Cameron. I'll let my buddy know you're coming. Just one little thing, though. I need you to get that egg to him before it hatches. Think you can manage it?"Cameron nodded at the man's odd addition to the request and was rewarded with another grin from the older male."Great! You'd better get to it, then. Wouldn't want that egg to hatch while we're still jabbering."With that, the older male went off to make a call on his Pokenav, presumably to tell his friend that someone would be bringing the egg he wanted.

With that awkward little chat over with, Cameron looked over his trio of Pokemon briefly."Guess we might as well get moving. I think you're gonna have to go on foot this time around, Allegro."The teen's words were met with syllables of acknowledgement from his team, although not all of them sounded quite happy."Weeen!""Spree~""...Tree..."The black-haired teen rubbed the back of his head with his off hand while looking down at the Treecko."Sorry, but I'm getting a bit overburdened. It's only until we get this egg delivered, alright?"Cameron waited for the grass starter to decide his opinion on the matter, then smiled as he got a nod from the small Pokemon."Great~ Off to Rustboro!"With that, the glasses-wearing teen moved off down the road to the next town with his trio of Pokemon close by, momentarily ignoring his discomfort about the idea of going somewhere rather heavily populated. He'd worry about that part later.
"Now arriving in Littleroot Town. Please have your tickets ready, and..."
The trip, although quick, had given Seven time to rest and clear his head. Watching the waves of the ocean as his train sped to its destination certainly was relaxing. With a deep breath, he stood and decided to end his call with his contact back at HQ. "The train's arriving now, so I'll let you know what I can dig up. Thank you." He'd also had some time to work on his team a little; not only that, but they'd given him clearance to add another member. There were several valid candidates, but the one that caught his eye most was the Mawile. She would certainly be useful in a fight, and something about the way her icon appeared on the screen of his Satphone made her seem quite wise. Or perhaps Seven was just overthinking things as he often did... In any case, he confirmed the transfer, and Narancia was now a member of his growing team.
To add to his luck, Seven's contact added in another bonus. "Wait a moment, Seven! Your mothe-- Former agent Seven sent her regards. She dropped off a Pokemon egg earlier this morning. Not sure what it is, to be quite honest with you... It doesn't match the color of any I've ever seen. A Blitzle would be my closest guess, though... I'll transfer it over to you as well." With a few more beeps on the other end of the line, Seven felt his bag get just a tad bit heavier once again.
"You're spoiling me, you know. But I appreciate it. I really ought to be going now, though, I'm almost at the gate... Ciao for now." Things certainly were looking up. Ending his call for real this time, Seven approached the gate and presented his ticket before exiting the station and walking into Littleroot. He released Narancia and Rounder to accompany him while searching the immediate area; there were no officers around, unfortunately. The incident had long since passed after all... Having only approached a few town residents, Seven realized that the trail had run cold. "Hmm, no chance of learning anything new from Professor Birch, sadly." In short, Seven had nothing. All he'd gathered was that a red-haired boy- or girl, perhaps, according to a few accounts- had nabbed some starters. Most would consider pursuing the case any further a farce, but it was the thief's methods that made Seven curious... He couldn't just let it go.
"If I may make a suggestion," Rounder said, "perhaps it would be wise to continue our search for aid. With no clues other than the vague appearance of the thief, we'd be hunting them forever. It would be much smarter to just see what we can pick up while traveling along on our original mission, in my humble opinion."
"Hmmmm, hm-hm-hmm. I agree with Rounder. If the thief strikes again, then we'll be able to pick up on their trail." Narancia spoke up as well, raising one hand thoughtfully. When Rounder translated for her, Seven could do little more than agree.
"A good idea, although I don't feel right just letting them do as they please for the time being... I suppose it can't be helped, though! Do you think he skipped town? Perhaps even traveled to another region?"
"It's entirely possible," Rounder said thoughtfully.
What a disappointment. "Then, that's that. Let's put our search on hold and continue with what we were doing before." Seven patted his hands together before placing them on his hips as he walked down the grassy road. "Huff, what to do, where to look...?"

Slowing upon entering Oldale, Marx looked around, only to quickly take off once he spotted the Professor's lab. A smart person would check the time of the trains first, but... this was Marx. Luckily, it didn't seem the one he was going to be getting on would be leaving immediately, and he had time to swing into the lab, greeting the Professor happily. It took a moment for the man to recollect who he was, but when he did he gave a boisterous laugh and asked how Marx's journey was going so far.
"It's going great, Professor! I've already made a lot of friends, a lot of my pokemon have evolved, I've got a few gym badges, I'm a ranger now, and I'm planning on starting on contests soon, too!" he listed excitedly. The professor laughed again. "Sounds like you've been busy! That reminds me..." Marx tilted his head to the side curiously, watching as the Birch moved over to one of the machines, clicking on the computer, before a pokeball appeared in teh transfer machine next to it. "A friend of yours, Jordan, I believe, dropped this off for you. He said he had a feeling it would come in handy, either to give your party some variety, or as something to trade if you already had something of it's type," he said, handing the pokeball over.
Marx blinked, looking down at it, then giving a lopsided grin. "Heh... Jordan would do that. Thanks Professor! I gotta go catch a train, but I'll talk to you later!" he said, tucking the pokeball away, and giving a wave before running for the door.

Marx couldn't help but slow once he got out of the lab, and, pausing just a moment, released the pokemon his friend had given him. "Heh... cool!" he exclaimed, looking the pokemon over. "Dra?"Sorry, I'd like to get to know you, but I gotta catch a train! I promise I'll let you back out of your pokeball soon!" he hurriedly reassured the pokemon, returning it to its pokeball, and running for the ticket booth. He was pretty sure Alex and Cheria must have caught up by now, and the train was, apparently, just about to leave.
He quickly bought his ticket, but before he could race for the train, the wurmple on his arm leaped off. "Uh-- whoa! Hey wait!" He nearly lost his balance trying to stop himself in his tracks, turning to look at the pokemon in dispair. It wanted to leave? Already? "Buh, wha--?" he stuttered, watching as it inched away, looked over as if to wave good by, and then continued on its way off. He blinked, but then smiled. "It was nice meeting you!" he called after it. Well... apparently Ranger-caught pokemon weren't for forever, then... Or maybe they just didn't like leaving their home region.
