The blond gave a goofy sort of grin when Cheria thanked him, completely unaware of her own considerations. He obviously still hadn't caught onto her fear, and with her getting more comfortable with him, he likely wouldn't unless it was made horribly clear, or she told him. He certainly wasn't going to ask, even if she had sort of mentioned it earlier. "Hehe, thanks Cheria.... I'll be sure to keep that in mind when I'm competing! I just gotta make sure one of my pokemon is ready... I haven't really been able to look into it that much yet." He smiled at the thought, though, looking thoughtfully up ahead, btu then shaking his head to bring himself back to earth.
He looked over as Cheria addressed her pokemon, but unleashed his Zubat again, letting him fly out, screeching happily and darting about. "Are you just planning on mostly training Sheena for the first gym?" he asked, moving over towards some grass, so that they could hopefully start encountering some pokemon. He wasn't sure if he would be training Zubat, who had landed on his shoulder again, receiving a small pat, or some of the other pokemon, but he was pretty sure it wouldn't be hard to find too many pokemon to battle.

Marx nodded with a bit of a grin. "Heh, I know what you mean. I think I used Basil and Surskit for the most part when I challenged the gym leader," he admitted, reaching for a pokeball. He gave a half step back when a zigzagoon joined the poochyena, bouncing around energetically, staring at him ready for battle. He smiled and glanced to the side as Zubat gave a small shriek at the pokemon, but maintained its position on his shoulder, apparently aware he wouldn't be battling. This was confirmed as Marx sent Shroomish out, looking the Zigzagoon over thoughtfully. It was preeeettty weak, so he had Shroomish just use a tackle, and after receiving a tackle of its own, finished it off with another, final attack.

Cheria clapped a bit at Sheena's victory before looking down at Aaron, which made her feel guilty for forgetting Poochyena were immune to Psychic-type moves. Aaron looked upset, his arms crossed and his head down. "Sorry, Aaron....I'll be more careful." Aaron looked up at her, but he couldn't stay mad a her. Sighing, he shrugged. "It's fine. Mistakes happen." Cheria gave a smile to Aaron's sudden change of mood. He really was a sweetheart. Een if he'd never admit it. Taking out some potions, she healed the two Pokémon and then stood again. Hopefully Aaron could fight the next battle.

Akira jumped and chirped in pride at his victory, and Teito knelt to use potions on the happy little rooster."A few more battles here, and we'll move on."Teito stood again, Kasei stirring and peeking out from inside Teito's hood. He reached back and pet the Litleo, earning a content purr in return. Looking around as Akira ran around his feet like the endless fluff of energy he was, the fighter spotted a duo. The girl looked familar. Wasn't her old man one of the photographers for the Lumiose paper? He recalled seeing her with him sometimes, but she never was when he came to get pictures of Teito's world. Which was probably a good thing. Shaking his head, he turned away and focused on finding Akira more battles.

Congratulating Shroomish on the victory, Marx returned the pokemon, walking over to Cheria with a smile. "Hey! Congrats on your win!" he remarked, giving a goofy congratulatory grin. He pulled another pokeball off his belt, tilting his head as he looked at her curiously. "Do you wanna try and do some battling on our own for a bit, or see if we can team up against them when they appear in duos like that?" Honestly, he was fine with either, seeing as he'd probably just be switching between Litwick and Shroomish, maybe letting Zubat step in here and there, so to speak. The pokemon were fairly low level, though, so he probably wasn't going to be able to train them too overly much. Least, not Shroomish and Zubat. Litwick could probably still benefit from the lower leveled pokemon.

Marx gave a bit of a smile and sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. "Heh, well, it was mostly Shroomish," he admitted, "He's actually got pretty strong, considering I haven't had much time to train him..." Which... actually seemed to be a common theme for him. He hadn't even witnessed his wurmple's evolutions. In fact, it had evolved every time he let it out of its pokeball. He'd had no idea what was going on at te time, but... at least it finally stopped with that.
He scratched the back of his head when she asked how a double battle worked, scrunching up his face a bit. "Well, I imagine we'd just tag team 'em. Like, if two appeared, we would both battle them. That way we could work together, and our pokemon could both get exp! Thoug.... might be a little tricker to coordinate..." He crossed an arm over his stomach, propping his other up as he tapped his chin thoughtfully, then shrugged. "I've never really done it myself, but it's up to you!" he said, finally letting Litwick out of his pokeball. The little ghost pokemon looked around sketchily as it was released, but blinked as it spotted Cheria, giving a cute little smile. "Lit~" he greeted sweetly.
Marx smiled, though glanced over, also noticing the young man in the area, tilting his head, and giving a smile and a wave to him, then shifting his attention back to Cheria. Part of him wanted to go say hi, but... he didn't want to up and ditch his friend, or make her uncomfortable in case she was still feeling shy.

So, Marx hadn't trained with his Shroomish a lot, but it had gotten stronger. That just meant Pokémon did level up even if they were neglected. Just slower. "I guess we can try. I certainly don't mind." Cheria looked down at the Litwick that greeted her and smiled softly, giving it a gentle wave. That was a...uniquely colored Litwick. Was it's flame changing color? "So cute....Can I take a picture?" She looked up as Marx waved to the guy from before, very worried for some reason. She'd have to figure out who that was to figure it out.

Marx smiled brightly when she agreed to the idea of giving a double battlee. He blinked, though, when her attention was diverted to litwick, giving the pokemon a curious, wary sort of smile, and then shrugging as he looked back at her. "Sure, go ahead," he confirmed, then smiled quizzically, "You sure do take pictures a lot. Are you a photographer?" Litwick, meanwhile, looked curiously between the two, not following the conversation at all. Its blue flame flickered, then momentarily turned green as it looked sideways at Marx, who didn't seem to notice, before flicking back to blue. Luckily for it, the brunette hadn't caught onto when it was draining some of his energy... but that was because it had been careful not to do it too much... yet.
Marx looked over as a zigzagoon appeared, looking back to Cheria to see if she was ready. "Wanna battle it?" he asked, though he looked around to see if another pokemon might appear so they coudl try double battling. If not, though, one of them could take it out, and they could just wait until two appeared at the same time again.
