Falkner smiled as October complimented him gym, even though she looked a little nervous about the glass as she stepped out onto it. He took great pride in his gym as well as his Pokemon, so it was nice when others recognized that and respected it. "Thank you October." He nodded graciously and watched as she sent forth the Pichu on her shoulder. This would be a hard fought battle certainly against an electric type, but Falkner would try to manage. "Hm... I see, you think you can clip my bird pokemon's wings with a jolt of electricity. I'll show you that we're stronger than that! Let the battle commence; Pidgey, hit that Pichu with a Quick Attack!" Pichu tended to be pretty quick little creatures, Falkner wanted to hit Kiru before he could hit them.
Natalia snuggled with Thalia contently as they leaned against Aiden and awaited his performance. The soft humming woodwind tones soon floated through the air as Aiden began to play a calming melody, making Natalia's eyelids heavy. She let them close, losing herself in the song. Before she knew it, she was quietly humming along, then even humming harmony once she could follow the melody well enough. Music was interesting that way, once you saw the pattern of chords, it was like suddenly understanding a new language, and Natalia's humming was just communicating with that language. Her mother had taught her so much about music, it was almost nice to relive those memories through the song Aiden played. She could recall singing songs in the kitchen acapella, her mother could always make beautiful harmonies to go with whatever songs Natalia sung. She had always asked her mother how she did it, but the answer was always the same. "Music is always calling to us my love, what you must do, is listen to what it says to you." As Aiden's song came to an end, Natalia was half asleep on his shoulder, and would have been content to lay there if she didn't feel obligated to thank Aiden for the comfort he had given her.
Natalia opened her eyes again and gave Aiden a tired but content smile, but then her expression shifted slightly as she saw that he was watching her, a bit flustered by his gaze. Had he been looking at her this whole time...? "W-what is it...?" She asked, already feeling her cheeks heat up. He had caught her off guard, a feat in of itself. It felt almost strange, to let herself, and want herself to relax around someone who could potentially become her worst enemy. However, he simply asked if she felt any better. "Oh.... I-I...." Natalia's apprehensiveness faltered, and she gave a soft smile. "...Yes.... Yes I think so...." He was too good to her. She didn't deserve his kindness, and yet she took it while she still could. She should have felt awful, but she felt to blissful to let anything make her feel otherwise. She hesitated for a moment and then gave him a quick peck on the cheek, opening her mouth to try and change the subject before the gesture was thought about too much by either party to be taken as something more than it was meant to be, but Natalia found herself at a loss for words. "Th-thank you... Where did you learn to play?" She said rather quickly, grimacing at how lamely it had come out sounding. "Er.... And in any case... The rain seems to have let up, perhaps we should return some of these gifts while we can...." It was clear she was making excuses, talking quickly as if the kiss hadn't happened and everything as normal, she wanted things to stay normal, so Arceus why did she have to go and mindlessly push the envelope?
Nyomii had to bite back the devilish grin threatening to creep onto her face, hearing that Aria was onboard with throwing as much hell Septy's way as they could manage whenever they happened to meet him. However, right then they needed to focus on being good role models for River, which meant no causing mischief, even if the dastard deserved it. "Well River needs to learn how to defend herself doesn't she...?" Nyomii asked innocently, but Aria promised they'd deal with Septy soon enough, and the Espeon sighed. "Oh alright, you do have a point I suppose." Nyomii nudged River gently towards the pokemon center and off they went, trying to be quick so that they didn't get rained on if the storm decided to pick up again. At least River seemed to agree that milk sounded nice, the poor little dear practically clinging to them like white on rice. Once they were safely inside the center, Nyomii and Aria led River to the cafeteria and Nyomii used her psychic powers to grab a bowl and pour the Riolu some Moomoo milk. "There you are dear~ And if you're still hungry after, there's plenty more where that came from, do drink to your heart's content okay?" Nyomii smiled, getting herself a bowl as well and began to gingerly lap up her meal.

" T-thank you" River looked down at the bowl smiling as she sat down and drank slowly, her tail even wagged a little. Hearing someone pass by she flinched expecting the milk to be taken away. She even paused waiting to see if it was safe before continuing to drink.
October was focused on the battle, she couldn't believe this was happening. Her first gym battle, she could hear her own heart beat and wondered if she was going to pass out. She watched as Kiru took a hit from quick attack but he quickly recovered. "Kiru quick use thunder" The pichu wasted no time racing and releasing a giant lighting bolt at the pidgey. (Kiru used thunder x2 -220 to Pidgey at 40hp rolled a 2)

✦ ✦Once Fey and Thalia were in comfortable positions, the girl leaning against him gently with the Sylveon clutched in her arms, Aiden took that as cue for him to start his performance. Soothing, airy notes soon danced through the atmosphere around them, bringing with them memories of times long since passed but still fondly looked upon even to this day… Aiden’s eyes remained primarily on Fey as he played, having no need to look at where his fingers moved along the instrument because he knew the melody by heart. He smiled as he continued playing as she closed her eyes, hearing the faint, soft noises as she began humming along to the music. As the song progressed, it felt like he was being pulled back into his childhood again, sitting outside of his mother’s music room and listening to her as she played her piano. Sometimes she would sing along with the music that she played… and her voice was one of the most beautiful that he had ever heard… Airy, lilting, able to ascend into high soprano or the lower tenor without cracks or breaks… Aiden often wondered if she had considered pursuing a musical career before she had settled down to become a Pokemon caretaker, she would often sing her heart out to the Pokemon as she tended to them, and even the most savage, agitated creature would calmly sit still and listen with rapt attention to her voice… She had taught him how powerful music can be in the hands of those capable of wielding it well, and how songs often provided a window into the soul and emotions of the musician themselves… She taught him how songs could comfort and harm at the same time, and how music was a language that everyone was capable of understanding, but listening with your ears and listening with your heart were two different interpretations of how the music spoke to you… As the song came to a close, Aiden took a deep breath as he lowered the instrument, the mistiness clearing from his eyes as he returned from the land of nostalgia and memories to the present. Thalia had almost fallen asleep to the melody, the Sylveon slowly opening her eyes once more and giving a soft smile to Aiden. She really hoped he would be able to play his ocarina some more in the future… the music that this instrument was capable of producing had given her a sense of comfort and ease that she had not felt in a long time, not ever since… Thalia shook her head as she dispelled the thoughts, not wanting the memories that she’d worked so hard to suppress to resurface once more. Aiden flashed a warm smile to the Sylveon, before returning his gaze to Fey as she opened her eyes, giving him a tired but content smile. However, the expression shifted as her cheeks flushed a light pink when she noticed he was watching her, and asked him what it was. The blonde-haired boy blinked, shaking his head slightly when he realized he’d been unintentionally staring at her the entire time. ” I-I… uh, nothing… I was just…” he started hesitantly, trying to find the right words to explain himself but unable to do so. He immediately settled for asking if she felt any better, hoping that she hadn’t been too weirded out or anything by his staring. Fey seemed a bit on edge as she started to answer, her voice hesitating a little, before she gave a soft smile and said that she believed she felt better. ” Ah, well I’m glad I was able to be of help~” Aiden responded with a warm smile, feeling glad that the music had helped to provide Fey with some form of comfort. Lightly clutching the ocarina in one hand, he made to turn and reach for his pack again to put it away, but paused when he felt the light flutter of soft lips on his cheek for just a few seconds. Had Fey just… kissed him on the cheek? Aiden felt his face start to heat up at the thought as he turned to face her, his eyes wide in amazement and slight shock. ” Wha-?” he started to ask, feeling himself at a complete loss for words as he could only stare at her, absolutely agog. However, he immediately stopped himself from saying anything further as Fey spoke up again, thanking him and asking where he had learned to play, even though her words sounded rather off as she spoke. She then quickly added that the rain had let up and they should go out to the store while it lasted to return some of the gifts while they could. He knew that she was only making up excuses, trying to make as if the kiss hadn’t just happened and that everything was normal, but for Aiden, something like that was not so simple to just ignore… Even still, Aiden felt grateful at the same time, feeling that the kiss was perhaps a sign of some sort… Perhaps they could make something more of what was between them aside from friendship, but… there were clearly some rough patches that would need to be smoothed over first. Giving a small smile in return, the blonde-haired boy decided it was probably best to not push the matter too much. ” I suppose that we can head to the store and return the excess gifts while the rain’s stopped for now,” he responded with a dip of his head, slowly turning to get up from the bed, ” Besides, you’ve been cooped up in this room for several days… I’m sure some fresh air would do you some good too~” Of course, Nurse Joy might object to it if he tried to take Fey outside since she had said that she was to remain here until she had recovered, but surely it wouldn’t hurt that much to go outside for at least a few minutes, right? It wasn’t like they were going for a mile-long hike or anything… Aiden put the ocarina away into his pack as he stood up from the bed, moving over to retrieve Fey’s wheelchair from where they’d left it. Perhaps he could place a pillow or something in the seat of this… he knew how uncomfortable it was for her to sit in this chair and figured that maybe some cushioning would help out somewhat. He looked back over to Fey with an almost longing gaze, his mind still rather swirling around the thoughts of the kiss. He knew that it had just been a simple kiss on the cheek, and that it probably wasn’t supposed to mean anything else much more than that… And yet… This whole thing was like a completely jumbled up puzzle, as if all of the pieces fit together but at the same time they needed to figure out which pieces go where before it started to make even a lick of sense. He knew he liked Fey, and he felt that she felt the same way towards him, but they had agreed that they wouldn’t rush into this with reckless abandon. Then why in the name of Arceus’s mane did they keep mindlessly pushing the boundaries like this… first with the Pocky game, and now this? He knew he shouldn’t be spending much time thinking about this, knowing that in time the pieces would eventually fall into place… He looked down towards the floor for a moment, taking a breath, before giving Fey a soft smile and wheeling her chair over towards her bedside. ” I suppose you could say that I learned to play on my own, I came to teach myself about playing the ocarina and learned to perform the songs I know purely by memory and ear,” he spoke up, recalling that she had asked him about where he had learned to play, even if it had been an excuse to draw their attention away from the kiss, ” Believe me, if you had heard me playing when I first started, you would’ve definitely thought that a choir of yowling Puruglies would’ve sounded worlds better.” He gave a soft chuckle at that, reaching over and grabbing one of the unused pillows from off the bed and carefully situating it in the chair to provide some more comfortable cushioning. ” Music has always been a go-to for me whenever I felt troubled or sad, it’s a good conduit for pouring your emotions into whenever you feel the need to, you know?” he added, giving her a soft smile, ” I guess you can say I’ve had quite a bit of inspiration… Someone once told me that music provides a window into the musician’s emotions, like if they’re happy, they’ll play a light, cheerful tune, or a more melancholy harmony if they’re sad or angry.” Aria grinned devilishly inward as she voiced her agreement with Nyomii’s plans to give ‘Septy’ as much hell as possible if they were to ever come across the guy. However, she reminded both herself and her Espeon companion that their primary objective right now was to be good role models and parental figures to River. As tempting as causing mischief for the b*****d sounded, they would have to rein it in for the time being. The Delphox chuckled softly as Nyomii innocently asked that River did need to learn how to defend herself, already knowing what was going through the Espeon’s mind. Still, she assured that they would deal with ‘Septy’ soon enough, and Nyomii reluctantly agreed.” Good Mimi~”Aria said lightly in a joking tone of voice, turning her attention towards River, feeling some of the doubt dispelling from the Riolu with help from their encouraging. She started moving along with them once Nyomii nudged her, agreeing that milk sounded nice as she pressed close to them, almost clinging to them. The Delphox felt a tug on her heartstrings at the sight, gently moving her tail to curl around the Riolu in a protective manner as they made their way to the Center. Once inside, Aria closed up the umbrella and placed it back on the rack she’d taken it from and put her wand back into her tail, and led River towards the cafeteria area inside the building alongside Nyomii. The Delphox grabbed some berries from a large bowl to eat while Nyomii served up some Moomoo milk for herself and River. Aria smiled and nodded in agreement as the Espeon encouraged River to drink up, and that there was more milk available if she was still hungry afterwards. Sitting down along with them, the Delphox munched on her berries as Nyomii and River drank up their milk, giving the Riolu a warm smile as she thanked the Espeon. The little dear looked much more content now, drinking up her bowl of milk as he tail started to wag a bit. However, when someone passed by the three of them, River flinched and tensed up a little, fears of the milk being taken away from her flickering across her thoughts.” It’s alright, dearie, no one here is going to take your food away from you,”Aria assured with a soft smile, scooting a little closer towards the Riolu and curling her tail around her in a protective manner,” If they do, they’ll have to answer to Mimi and I~”She understood that River was still getting used to being in a new environment with a new trainer, and it was understandable for the Riolu to be jumpy around strangers. Poor dear… she really had gone through a lot in the time she’d spent with ‘Septy’… That boy was going to be in a world of trouble once Aria and Nyomii got their paws on him, she was going to give him what he deserved even if it was the last thing she did.✦ ✦

Natalia couldn't help but giggle as Aiden himself suddenly realized he was staring at her and began to trip over his words, looking for an explanation and failing to find one, so instead he changed subjects, asking if she felt any better. At first she was hesitant, but eventually let go of her apprehensiveness and admitted that she did indeed feel better. Aiden seemed satisfied with this, glad he was able to help, but as he turned to start putting away his ocarina, Natalia leaned closer and gently pecked his cheek thanking him quietly. Briefly, she found herself amused with his shocked reaction, finding it rather endearing as he blushed so feverishly. If only..... No, she wouldn't think about it, nor would she let him have any respite. She pressed a change of subject, asking where he'd learned to play, though it was a bit hurried. Aiden seemed to take notice, which pressed Natalia to also mention that the rain had let up, suggesting that perhaps they should go return some of the gifts before it started pouring again. Thankfully Aiden dropped the subject of her kiss for now, agreeing that they could head out, especially since she probably needed it after being cooped up in this room for so long. "Arceus yes please.....!" Natalia sighed exasperatingly. Fresh air was more than what she wanted, she needed it. She was never going to want to sleep in a pokemon center ever again at this rate.

Once he dropped his gaze to the floor and took a quiet breath, Natalia relaxed and cast a cautious glance his way, smiling softly back at him as he brought her wheelchair over and placed a pillow on the seat. "Thank you...." She nodded appreciatively in earnest, working herself into her chair as Aiden explained his experiences with the Ocarina. "A choir of yowling Puruglies eh...? That's pretty bad... Are you sure you could have sounded worse?" Natalia chuckled at the thought, though she nodded in understanding as he explained that music was his sort of go-to when he needed a means of pouring out his emotions, good, bad, ugly and all. "Yeah.... I can understand that. I can't really play any instruments, I like sort of plunking away at a piano by ear but I can't actually read music. I do always listed to my i-Pod when I'm drawing though." She smiled. "I must say that your hard work has certainly payed off though, you pay beautifully." Natalia murmured fondly, leaning over to gather some of the stuffed animals from the bed. The Thalia plushie she placed in her satchel though, since she would be keeping it. "Okay Jeeves, onwards." Natalia chuckled.
Nyomii was content to lap away at her milk once she saw that River was happily drinking her own. Her tail had even begun to wag a little, which warmed Nyomii's heart to see. Aria herself preferred a bowl full berries, and they all ate contently for a moment. However, as someone passed the Riolu by, poor River flinched, almost expecting the stranger to punish her. The poor dear was practically traumatized, and yet she was so young.... Nyomii sighed, ears twitching as Aria reassured River that no one was going to take her food away, and if they did, they would have to answer to River's overprotective motherly figures. Nyomii couldn't help but smirk at that. "Oh yes, and they'll be sorry. Hmph." Nyomii gave a bit of a self righteous nod before continuing to lap up her milk.

✦ ✦Upon realizing that he had been staring at her unintentionally, Aiden tried to hastily explain himself, but found that he couldn’t quite bring himself to say the proper words as Fey giggled. Ultimately, he settled for changing the subject as he asked if she felt any better. Fey seemed apprehensive for a moment, before she relaxed and said that she indeed felt better. Feeling relieved and glad that he had been of some help, the blonde turned to put his ocarina away into his pack when he suddenly felt Fey kiss him lightly on the cheek. It took him a moment to realize what had just happened, and Aiden found himself turning around to face her with a bright blush on his cheeks and a look of shock and amazement in his eyes. He opened his mouth to say something, but it felt as if his brain was scrambling to try to find the words he wanted to say. Fey seemed amused at his shocked expression, before she started hastily changing the subject before he could think anything more of it. She asked him where he had learned to play the ocarina, though her question came out a bit rushed and not sounding like she would have liked it too. Aiden knew immediately what she was doing, trying to draw their attention away from what had just happened moments earlier. Nevertheless, he played along with her as she then suggested that they go back to the store and return some of the gifts while the rain had let up. He agreed, adding that they could use this as an opportunity to get her out of the room for some fresh air, because Arceus knows she would start going crazy otherwise. He chuckled softly as Fey was all too eager to agree on the prospect, putting his ocarina away inside his pack and moving over to retrieve her wheelchair. As he moved to bring her wheelchair over to her, Aiden couldn’t help but gaze rather longingly towards Fey, feeling rather confused about just about everything that was going on between them. They were good friends, that was true enough in its own right, and they had agreed on taking things slower before coming to any sort of conclusion that they really did share mutual feelings. And yet… they kept pushing their boundaries further and further… But it was rather hard not to… Maybe there was a chance for them after all, at least once these rough patches could be smoothed over, right? Aiden tried to not think about it too much as he noticed Fey avoiding his gaze, not really blaming her at all. He let his eyes fall to the floor as he took a breath, bringing her wheelchair around to her bedside as she sat by the edge. He gave her a soft smile as he approached, Fey reciprocating the gesture back as he took one of the unused pillows off of the bed and position it onto the chair. He nodded as she thanked him, backing off a little as she began to lift herself into the wheelchair. Hopefully that pillow would help to make sitting in the chair for long periods of time more comfortable for her. While she worked herself into her chair, Aiden went on to explain his experiences with the ocarina, answering her earlier question of where he had learned to play it. Fey chuckled in amusement as his comment about how his earlier attempts to play the instrument would’ve made a choir of yowling Puruglies sound far better by default, saying that it sounded pretty bad and asking if he was sure that it could’ve been worse. ” Heh, yeah, I suppose so when you put it that way,” he said, chuckling lightly at the thought of it before going into further explanation. Fey said that she could understand his use of music as a means of a conduit for his emotions, admitting that she couldn’t really play any instruments, that she liked playing a bit at the keys of a piano, but she couldn’t read music. He nodded with a small smile as she added that she would listen to her iPod a lot whenever she was drawing. ” I see~ Sometimes I liked just listening to music and letting my imagination run wild, letting the melodies paint pictures and play these little movies in my head…” he spoke up with a soft chuckle, ” Of course, my imagination is nowhere near as colorful now as it used to be… But it’s good to listen to music for whatever reason, whether for inspiration or just for the sake of it~” His smile widened as Fey spoke again, softer this time, as she said that his hard work had paid off well and that he played beautifully. ” Thank you, that really means a lot to me,” Aiden said gratefully, smiling warmly as he dipped his head to her, ” To be honest, I had never considered learning how to play any kind of instrument in my life long ago… I guess you could say that I had some inspiration from way back when…” It was because of his mother, as well as his many fond memories that revolved around her and that majestic piano of hers, that he had even bothered to start learning to play ocarina to begin with. After everything that had happened back on Five Island, his mother’s music was one of the few things he had left to remember her by… By recreating the songs that she used to play on her piano during his childhood, Aiden had come to associate his ocarina with his lingering memories of her, how playing her songs on the instrument took him back to the days where everything had been sunny and bright… Taking a breath, Aiden decided to store those thoughts away for now as Fey finally got herself into her wheelchair, the blonde-haired boy moving to help her gather up the rest of the plushies. She put away the Sylveon one in her pack, since she had established before that she would be keeping that one. Thalia carefully moved off of the bed to gently situate herself in Fey’s lap, moving herself into a position so that the plushies would have room without falling all over the place. Aiden chuckled softly as Fey said for them to head onwards, jokingly referring to him as ‘Jeeves’, as he picked up the bag of leftover candy and settled it on one of the wheelchair’s handles so that he’d have hands free to push it. ” As you wish, my Lady~” he responded back with a light laugh, playing along as he pushed her chair along towards the door. Pausing before it, he leaned over and used one hand to open it up before they exited the room, heading down the hallway and towards the lobby area. ” If Nurse Joy tries to hassle us on the way out, we’ll just say that we’re going to run a few errands or something~” Aiden added lightly with a grin as they headed towards the lobby and out the door from there. Hopefully Nurse Joy wouldn’t try to interrogate them on the way out, since she had stubbornly established that Fey was not to leave the Center until she had completely recovered, even though they were only going a little ways down the block and back.✦ ✦

Natalia chuckled and nodded as Aiden explained how he would always pick a song to draw to and let his imagination run wild. "Heh, yeah I've done that too, but usually I'll have something and mind to draw and pick a song to set the mood, or I'll flip around until I hear a song that inspires me to draw something." She smiled at the thought, though it slipped into a light frown when Aiden suggested his imagination wasn't nearly as colorful as it used to be. "Why do you say that? Your drawings are beautiful." She asked curiously, recalling the pictures and beautiful scenes she had seen when they'd exchanged sketchbooks in the trainers school. After laughing a bit at the image of yowling Puruglies, she complimented his ability to play the ocarina, suggesting that his hard work practicing had certainly payed off. This seemed to really make him light up with pride, which honestly astonished Natalia. She'd never seen Aiden so aglow, it was... Heartwarming to see him so happy, and know that her compliment had made him feel that way, a small token of the debt she owed him payed off. This was why she was with him, this was why she had wanted to accompany him back in New Bark Town, just to see him happy like this and make sure he kept smiling. If she could ensure that, then she could rest at ease when her time came in the next year or so.
Arceus..... A year or so? Was that really all she had...? She would have to double check her stock of medication, but yes, that sounded about right. Natalia cursed herself for losing sight of reality. If she only had a limited amount of time left, she wanted to make the most of it, not sit around in some damn pokemon center for a week. Maybe if they could convince Nurse Joy to let them out to run an errand, maybe Natalia could press to be released early. For now though, she would remain in her wheelchair to run this errand. Natalia smiled as Thalia slipped onto her lap and curled up there, petting the Sylveon's head affectionately as Aiden wheeled her off. Together they moved out of the room with their bags of goodies so they could start heading back to the pokemart and return some of it.
The brunette gave a small chuckle as Aiden suggested a plan of action in case Nurse Joy hassled them. It was amusing to think they were on a secret mission of sorts, smuggling Natalia out of her room so she could get some fresh air. "Sounds like a plan to me~" Natalia grinned, glancing back at her chauffeur with a chuckle. At the moment though, as they got out to the main lobby, it seemed that Nurse Joy was preoccupied with healing Gio's pokemon. "Hey Gio~ Still hanging around?" Natalia asked curiously, wondering what the boy was still doing in Violet City. "Heh, yeah I thought I'd get some training in while I waited for you slowpokes." Natalia narrowed her eyes and shot Gio a playful grin. "Hey now, you shouldn't go insulting a cripple like that you know. It's bad karma." Natalia scolded lightheartedly, knowing it was all in fun. Gio gave a laugh at that, but turned to focus on Nurse Joy as she handed back his pokemon. "Here you are dear~ One Lucario, one Bisharp, and one Totodile~ Oh? Aiden, Fey, where are you two headed?" The Nurse looked mildly concerned at the prospect of Natalia being taken out in the ominous weather. "Just going to be running some errands around town, don't worry." Natalia reassured her with a sympathetic smile. The nurse had been so good to her, after her bout with Kyurem and now this, Nurse Joy had done more than enough for her. "Well.... I suppose if you have Aiden with you then you'd be in good hands. Just do try to be careful okay you two? You're to be released tomorrow so don't go pushing yourself." The nurse insisted. Natalia tried not to look too dismal, giving a wary smile and nod.

✦ ✦Aiden smiled widely as Fey chuckled and nodded in response to his explanation about how he would choose music to draw to and let his imagination run wild. She said that she’d done the same as well, though she’d usually come up with an idea in her mind and choose a song to draw it to, or she’d flip through whatever music she had available until she found one that inspired her to draw. The atmosphere around them seemed to ease up significantly now that they were light-heartedly chatting with each other, though he noticed the slight frown on Fey’s face as he mentioned that his imagination wasn’t nearly as colorful as it used to be. She asked what made him think something like that, insisting that his drawing were beautiful. ” Well, you know, typical stuff that happens with growing up. When I was younger, I used to come up with these really interesting fantasies and ideas, like imagining myself as a knight in shining armor with Daguerro as my faithful steed, riding across the land to aid those in need, things like that, even if it sounded ridiculous~” he said with a light chuckle, glancing down slightly, ” And, well, there was a certain period of time where I couldn’t draw anything at all… I just didn’t have the heart for it, no motivation or anything…” The months of isolation had really messed with his mind and emotions, it was all just a long period of loneliness and uncertainty about what he was going to do with himself. Even so, he tried not to think on it too much, and he gave Fey a soft smile. ” Sometimes I wish that I was able to draw things like the fantasy-styled landscapes you do, Fey~” he added, nodding towards her, ” The way you draw them… It makes me wonder what it would be like if they truly existed, like stepping into a storybook or fairy tale, you know?” Nonetheless, they both laughed together at the implications, like the choir of yowling Puruglies Aiden had compared his early attempts at playing the ocarina to. When she complimented his skills, saying that all of the hard work and practice he’d put into learning how to play the instrument, the blonde-haired boy practically beamed as he felt his heart swell with pride. He truly was grateful that she thought of it that way, it was things like this that he felt made going through everything that he had gone through in his lifetime thus far well worth it. To know that he had good friends like Fey, Gio, and October… it was perhaps one of the few things that was giving him the strength to continue smiling and fighting for a better tomorrow, for a better future. Thinking about it now, his sanity likely would have broken long ago, there was only so much loss, so much grief, so much stress that any human being was able to withstand in one sitting... Even if it may have been by sheer chance or coincidence, Aiden knew that he wouldn’t ever regret the day that he had first met Fey, Gio, October, and all the others he had come to know thus far on his adventures. They hadn’t even known each other for that long, but they had gone through thick and thin, and stayed strong together even when it seemed all hope was lost, just like true friends would… Focusing back on the matter at hand, he smiled as Fey got situated in her wheelchair, Thalia moving over to join them as she clambered into the brunette’s lap and made herself comfortable. The Sylveon smiled, gently nuzzling affectionately against Fey as the girl pet her, feeling the wheelchair starting to move as Aiden rolled them over to the door once they’d gathered all of the plushies and gift bags to take back. Exiting the room, the threesome made their way towards the main lobby so they could head out and run their errand. Aiden gave a wide grin as Fey chuckled at his comment about how they would try to evade Nurse Joy if she tried to hassle them on the way out. She had been adamant on having Fey stay in the Center until she fully recovered, then again, Aiden had been too, and the fact that he was suggesting such a thing contradicted everything he had insisted upon before. Still, his mother had always told him that even though long-term patients were best kept in the hospital, it never hurt to take them outside for a bit of fresh air every now and again. Still, the way they were doing this, it was like they were on some sort of secret mission or something. His grin widened further as Fey agreed with his plan, giving a knowing wink as she looked back towards him and chuckled. Upon reaching the main lobby, it looked like Nurse Joy was busy with healing up Gio’s Pokemon at the moment. Aiden smiled towards their companion as Fey greeted him, asking if he was still hanging around. Gio said that he figured he’d get some training in while he waited for them, to which Aiden nodded. ” Well, I’m glad that you stuck around regardless~ We’ll be heading out to Azalea soon before long though, hope you can keep up!” the blonde commented with a warm smile, chuckling as Fey light-heartedly scolded the boy for his comment. Soon enough, Nurse Joy came back and handed Gio his Pokemon back, before she took notice of Fey and Aiden nearby and asked where they were going. She seemed rather concerned about Fey going out when the weather was so dismal, though the girl assured her that they were only going out to run so errands around town. The nurse seemed thoughtful for a moment, before agreeing that they could go out, figuring that Fey would be just fine so long as she had Aiden with her. Aiden nodded as she cautioned them, not wanting Fey to push herself too much since she would be released tomorrow. ” We will, I promise~ We won’t be out for too long,” he assured with a warm smile, looking over towards Gio, ” Hey Gio, you haven’t seen October around, have you?” He had noticed the absence of a certain female trainer, and wanted to make sure that she was alright since he hadn’t seen her at all today.” Yeah, she went out to the Gym to go battle Falkner and get her first badge, unless she chickened out at the last minute or something. She hasn’t come back here yet,”the boy responded, nodding towards the exit,” If she’s not at the Gym, she’s probably hiding out somewhere in the city. I saw Aria and Nyomii come back inside not too long ago, so I’m willing to bet they succeeded in convincing her to take on Falkner.”The blonde-haired boy smiled and nodded, feeling relieved to know that October was okay and that Aria and Nyomii had been taking good care of her in the meantime. ” Great! Maybe she’ll have her badge by the time we start heading for Azalea, wouldn’t want you guys to fall too far behind~” he responded with a chuckle, ” Fey and I are heading out to run a few errands, we’ll be back in a bit!” He noticed Gio flashing them an odd look when the boy took note of all of the stuffed Pokemon plushes and the large bag stuffed almost to bursting with candy.” Alright, I’ll be waitin', as usual,”Gio said with a nod as he flashed them a toothy grin. With that taken care of, Aiden wheeled Fey and Thalia towards the door, grabbing an umbrella from the rack and hooking it by the looped strap on its end onto the wheelchair in case the rain started up again at any point while they were out and about. Opening the door, they were greeted moments later by the breeze that blew around them as they rolled outside. The air had a familiar earthy, almost metallic scent, the kind that was always reminiscent of a rain storm’s aftermath, and the walkways were stained damp and dark with moisture and small puddles had collected in small divots along the path. ” Off we go then, to Ye Olde Gift Shop~” Aiden declared with a light-hearted chuckle, pushing Fey and Thalia along as they headed down the path. The gift store was only a few blocks down from the Center, so if it was possibly going to start raining again, hopefully they’d be inside long before then. Thalia glanced up worriedly towards the grey skies above, the clouds looking so heavy that they almost looked like they would completely cover the city. Not to mention it was a bit cold out too! The Sylveon shivered as another cool breeze blasted past them, immediately pressing closer to Fey for warmth.✦ ✦

Natalia nodded solemnly as Aiden explained that losing imagination was sort of a typical thing that happened growing up. Natalia hadn't thought about that, it was a good point. She had to chuckle a bit at the image of Aiden in knight armor riding Dag around though, but as he recalled the period of time where he lacked the inspiration to draw at all. He didn't need to explain why, Natalia already knew all too well. Her expression sobered as she nodded quietly in understanding, and she felt a bit of relief as Aiden changed the topic, commenting on her ability to draw fantasy scenes with a hint of reverence. Natalia blushed and chuckled. "O-oh... Well thank you. Really they aren't that great though, I mean... A lot of the time I feel like I can imagine the scene a lot better than I can draw it...." She trailed off, thinking about his words as he suggested her drawings were like jumping into a storybook. Her thoughts soon became occupied with a scene, Aiden's knight form riding Dag with a forest setting and Natalia as Fey in a princess costume, stuck high above in a Rapunzel-like tower and calling for help, and Natalia as Vesper, with her multiple personalities, taking on the form of a Hydregon, burning everything to the ground. Natalia shook her head to clear the ridiculous image from her mind, silently scolding herself and refocusing on Aiden as the topic of conversation moved on to Aiden's history with the Ocarina.
Natalia was glad to make Aiden so happy, but it was just one small step in the right direction. She wanted to make him feel this happy everyday, to look at him and see this smiling face, not the melancholic smile he usually wore. The time had come now for them to try and return the gifts, since it had stopped raining, they needed to return the stuffed animals and candy while they still could, so Natalia situated herself in her wheelchair, grabbing her stuffed pokemon and placing Thalia's plushie in her bag before allowing the Sylveon to come onto her lap, stroking her head affectionately as they made their way into the lobby and planned how they could sway Nurse Joy in case she confronted them. It certainly felt like some kind of secret mission, though this was one that Natalia would actually enjoy embarking on. Natalia caught the wink Aiden sent her way as she smiled back at him. She was able to keep her composure at first, slowly turning to face front again, but immediately afterwards a blush spread across her cheeks. Dammit dammit dammit..... She bit her lip, urging the fluttering in her chest to take a hike so that she could compose herself before they reached the lobby. Just in time too, because luck would having that Gio was there, getting his pokemon healed by Nurse Joy. It took a bit of convincing, but after some friendly banter with Gio, Natalia was able to talk Nurse Joy into letting her out around town, and that was their ticket out of there.
With Aiden giving a promise to be back soon, they started moving again, though Aiden paused for a moment to ask Gio about October. So the girl had finally gone to get her first gym badge eh? Though it sounded like it took a little bit of convincing from Nyomii and Aria. Either way, Natalia smiled at the news. "Good for her~ I'm glad she finally went." Natalia nodded. Hopefully the girl would be able to earn her badge and head out to Azalea with all of them whenever they left, which was supposed to be tomorrow when Natalia was released, but Natalia wanted to leave now. If she could just prove she could walk fine, with the help of pain medication of course. For now though, Natalia allowed Aiden to wheel her out of the center and towards Ye Olde Gift Shoppe, as Aiden so delightfully titled it. Natalia chuckled along with him at the title. Thalia seemed a bit more worried about the weather however, casting a nervous glance up to the ominous grey clouds before shivering at the nippy Febuary air and huddling closer to Natalia. The brunette gave a sympathetic smile and stroked the Sylveon's fur reassuringly. Natalia honestly wouldn't mind getting caught in the rain though... Something about rain was cleansing, and Arceus knew she needed to be cleansed of her past. For now though, the cloudy weather held, and the trio made it to the gift shop dry. "I'm gonna have a look around, it's probably going to take a while to get all this stuff scanned." Natalia suggested, handing Aiden her collection of stuffies so he could take them up to the counter and return them. Afterwards, Natalia wheeled around to look at the rest of the shop. They certainly had an assortment of items for Valentines day; chocolates, plushies, sweet hearts, heart scales, jewelry, cards... The whole lot. However, Natalia wasn't really interested in that, she'd already scolded Aiden for getting her so much, she didn't need any more. Instead Natalia moved to the back of the store, scooping up Thalia to set her on the floor for now. Natalia put a finger to her lips and gave the sylveon a reassuring smile, but she couldn't stand up if Thalia was in her lap.
With that, Natalia took a deep breath and dared to try and stand, with most of her weight on her good leg. It was easy to stand on one foot, what Natalia was worried about was walking. Obviously she would favor her other leg for a while, but could she put any weight on her recovering leg at all? Natalia tested it out carefully, easing the pressure on. She grimaced at the ache it produced, but she ignored it. All her years at Void, training to resist torture, training to have a high pain tolerance, this was nothing, but damn it still hurt. Natalia exhaled and took a small step, assuring herself that she just needed to walk it off, get some strength back in that leg. The first step was excruciating, but as she started to take more, the pain numbed, which could have been good or bad. Good if the pain was wearing off, bad if it was just her own perseverance ignoring the pain. Either way, Natalia kept walking. She didn't dare go near Aiden, lest he likely freak out. She hoped he didn't if he saw her standing, the whole point of this exercise was to convince everyone that she could be released early.

✦ ✦Aiden gave a soft smile as Fey nodded solemnly to his response about imagination slowly losing its influence was something that usually happened growing up. When he’d been younger, his imagination used to take him on joyrides to all sort of fantasies and ideas, a lot of what little kids dreamed about. He couldn’t help but chuckle along with her a little as he recalled one of his fantasies in particular being him as a gallant knight with Daguerro as his faithful steed, riding across the lands and saving those in need of aid. As ridiculous as it sounded now, young Aiden absolutely loved the infinite possibilities that his wandering mind provided him with. He could picture it even now… himself as a tall, valiant warrior dressed in glimmering silver armor, his Jolteon standing proud and as large as an Arcanine, easily able to carry his trainer easily and swiftly as they raced from place to place at the speed of lightning. However, the mirth was rather short-lived as Aiden recalled the period of time where he didn’t have the heart or motivation at all to draw anything, his eyes shadowing over slightly. He never liked recalling the time he had spent alone before he had gathered up the resolve to come to Johto and start over from scratch, it was just that point in time where he felt uncertain, lonely, as if he’d lost who he truly was… He noticed the solemn expression on Fey’s face as she nodded in understanding, feeling grateful that she didn’t push the matter further. Trying to not focus too much on the past, Aiden gladly provided a swift change of subject as he complimented Fey’s drawings of fantasy-styled landscapes, recalling the beautifully done hand she’d drawn them with when they had exchanged sketchbooks. She blushed lightly and chuckled, thanking him for the praise even though she was certain that her drawings weren’t that good. Aiden nodded in understanding as she said that most times she felt that she had imagined the scene better than she’d been able to draw it. He knew full well about that, about how ideas and images seemed so grand and awesome in one’s mind, but when it came to putting them down on paper it just paled in comparison. He noticed that Fey seemed to have trailed off into a bit of a daze for a minute, though she shook her head moments later and focused back on the conversation as she praised his skills with the ocarina. Aiden still found it almost hard to believe that he had come so far, it felt as though just yesterday he had still been fiddling around with the instrument and trying to memorize which holes went with which note. It was because of the lingering inspiration that he’d gathered from mother, as well as the good memories he had associated with the songs of his childhood, that he kept pushing to improve and didn’t give up about halfway through his practice… Fey’s compliment really meant a lot to him, it really made him feel much more accomplished that he had come this far… Not just in his history with the ocarina, but over the course of their Pokemon journey as well… Upon noticing that the rain appeared to have stopped for the time, the two of them agreed to head over to the store and return the gifts that Aiden and Aria had bought earlier before it was too late. Once Fey had gotten situated in her wheelchair, the two of them grabbing up the stuffies and the bag of leftover candy and placed them all around the chair, with the exception of the Sylveon plush that she’d tucked away in her bag to keep, they set off once Thalia got herself situated in Fey’s lap. Heading towards the lobby, the two of them did a bit of collaboration with each other, coming up with an excuse to tell Nurse Joy in case she started interrogating them on the way out. He grinned and gave Fey a knowing wink, seeing her flash him a smile in return before she turned her attention to the path ahead. Thalia cuddled against Fey as the girl held her close, the Sylveon glancing up curiously towards her as she noticed the blush that colored her cheeks. She wasn’t quite sure of what was going on between Fey and Aiden, though somehow she felt it would be best to keep her nose out of their business for now. Upon reaching the lobby, it just so happened that Gio was getting his Pokemon healed by Nurse Joy, who quickly questioned them on what they were doing once she was finished. It took some time and convincing, coupled with some friendly chatter with Gio, but it seemed Nurse Joy was fine with letting them outside, figuring that everything would be fine as long as Aiden supervised. The blonde gladly gave the nurse his word that they wouldn’t be out for too long, turning and starting to head out the door with Fey and Thalia in tow. However, he stopped briefly to ask Gio where October was, since he had noticed the lack of her presence in the Pokemon Center at the time. As their companion divulged the news that October had gone to get her first badge from Falkner, although it took some convincing from Aria and Nyomii, Aiden felt glad that their new friend was doing well and that she was working on her badge. Fey seemed just as glad as well as she voiced her two cents, saying that she was glad that October had finally gotten the courage to take on the first Gym. Aiden supposed that he couldn’t blame her for being hesitant, that first Gym battle was always a daunting experience for any new trainer just starting out. He had felt that same kind of anxiety before when he’d gone off on his last journey, though he was now starting from a fresh, clean slate. The badges that he had won back then he had buried near Lavender Town along with the bodies of his former team, so that they would always have the tokens of their achievements to hold onto even in the afterlife… At this rate, October would hopefully earn her badge before it was time for them to head out to Azalea tomorrow once Fey’s leg had finished recovery. In any case, Aiden, Fey, and Thalia were out the door after letting Gio know that they’d be back soon, the three of them exiting the Center as they stepped out into the cold, damp world of the outside. A thought came to mind, and he carefully reached into the candy bag and took out one of the packages of heart shaped gummy candies. He had promised Aria that he’d save her one of these for her to give to Nyomii, after all. Once they had temporarily parted ways, Thalia glanced around at the contents of the shelves around them as she rode along with Fey down the aisles. There was quite the selection to choose amongst the store’s inventory, from flower bouquets to jewelry to Heart Scales and candy… Wow, did people really need all of this kind of stuff for Valentine’s Day? The Sylveon had to admit that she had very little concept of the holiday in general, though it apparently involved a lot of romantic gestures like hugging and kissing, as well as gift-giving. They soon approached the back of the store, and Thalia blinked in mild surprise and confusion as Fey lifted her off of her lap and placed her on the floor. Turning to face her, the Sylveon gave her a confused look, tilting her head curiously as to why Fey had put her down on the floor. Jeez, Falkner had expected to be dealing with electric attacks, but not Thunder, not from a Pichu. The blue haired boy shielded his face with his arm as a powerful bolt of lightning struck his Pidgey, rendering it unsurprisingly Paralyzed. "Come on Pidgey, you can do it! Quick Attack again!" Falkner insisted, but Pidgey just couldn't quite seem able to overcome its Paralysis, struggling to move at all. "Curses....." Falkner muttered, gritting his teeth. October seemed so reserved and shy, but her powerful Pokemon more than made up for her lack of confidence.
As Aiden busied himself unloading all of the goods they were returning to the store and waiting as the kindly clerk scanned them all, Natalia decided to take a look around the store at all the interesting wares it held. However, that was not the real reason she'd moved to the back of the store, which was made clear after she'd quickly glanced over a few of the items for sale and then set Thalia on the floor. The Sylveon seemed rather curious as to what Natalia was up to, if not slightly worried, but Natalia was quick to give the fairy type a reassuring smile and put a finger to her lips to signify that everything was fine, and this would just be their little secret. Thalia gave a slight nod, seeming to understand at least, and watching Natalia make her admittedly pathetic attempt at standing and walking. The brunette hobbled along awkwardly, favoring her good leg as she stepped, likely with a limp. Thankfully it felt like the pain ebbed with every step she took, and soon Natalia was feeling pretty good about the idea of being released early.
And then Aiden called out for her. Natalia felt a slight panic seize her, knowing he'd probably freak out if he caught her trying to walk without him. Natalia turned to try and scramble back to her wheelchair before he saw, but her body didn't quite seem to be ready for a maneuver like that, and immediately her bad leg buckled, sending Natalia tripping int one of the shelves of bagged candies. The scene was quite spectacular, with the shelf toppling over and candies scattering everywhere, there was a very distinct sound of shattering pottery of some kind, and then the ruckus faded into a dead quiet, the kind that allowed for a subtle sound of the last few escaping pieces of hard candy rolling on the floor to suddenly sound very loud and very audible.
Natalia grimaced, cursing under her breath and knowing she was going to be in heaps of trouble now, not just with Aiden or Nurse Joy, but with the unfortunate store clerk as well. "A-ah....! I'm so so sorry.... I'll pay for everything, I-I...." Damn, and she'd been doing so well too.... Natalia bit her lip and pulled herself up from the mess she'd made, brushing herself off and attempting to make her way over to her wheelchair, not to sit in it, but rather to dig her wallet out of her bag and reimburse the clerk for the mess she'd just made of her store.

✦ ✦Upon reaching the gift shop, Aiden gladly took the stuffed toys and the candy off of Fey’s hands. They agreed to meet back up once all of the items had been returned, with Fey heading off amid the aisles while Aiden took the stuff up to the counter of the friendly clerk. The woman seemed rather surprised at the sight of the young man coming up to her with a boatload of plushies in his arms and a large bag that was almost bursting at the seams, but she was quick to start scanning them in after a slight exchange. Aiden was glad to patiently wait in the meantime while she was at work, glancing off in the direction Fey had gone to. Though it took quite a bit of time, the woman soon had everything scanned in for returning, smiling as she gave him back the money for his refund. Of course, it wouldn’t be the whole five-hundred that he’d initially spent, since Fey was keeping the Sylveon plushie and they had gone through at least two boxes of Pocky, but four-hundred and seventy-five certainly wasn’t bad at all! Thanking her for the return and the service, he wished the woman a happy Valentine’s Day and waved to her as he moved away from the counter and towards the aisles. Now he just needed to find where Fey had gone so that they could start heading back to the Center, and Thalia as well since the Sylveon had went off to accompany the girl in the meantime. Thalia kept careful watch as Fey attempted to stand up from her wheelchair and walk, the girl obviously favoring her good leg more than the other. The Sylveon walked alongside her, hoping that she wouldn’t end up falling over if her leg happened to give out under her. She seemed to be walking just fine from the looks of it, even though the limp in her leg was quite easy to tell. Still, it looked like her movements were getting better and better as she kept walking, and hopefully the aches and sores wouldn’t be too much of a problem if they were to take some painkillers with them. Thalia’s ears flicked up suddenly as she heard Aiden’s voice calling out from nearby, saying that they could start heading back now since business was well taken care of here. She heard footsteps coming their way, her pale blue eyes darting over towards Fey as she flew into a panic and tried to make a beeline for the wheelchair before Aiden saw them. The Sylveon’s eyes went wide with panic as all hell seemed to break loose in that instant. Her body clearly not ready for such a maneuver, Fey’s leg buckled and gave out from under her, causing her to trip over into a nearby shelf full of candy bags. Thalia scrambled back and away as the shelf fell over, sending myriads of candy all over the floor, even shattering some kind of pottery in the commotion as the noise rang through the store. Aiden felt himself tense up as he heard the ruckus, a shelf suddenly toppling over and scattering the candies it held all over the floor below. A ceramic vase or some other kind of pottery was broken in the process, and then it all went quiet… No other noise was made apart from the sounds of hard candies rolling around on the floor, followed by Fey’s panicked voice as she apologized profusely and said that she would pay for the damages. Worry welling up in his gut, he quickly made his way towards the back of the store where the noise had originated from. Needless to say, the sight that beheld him when he arrived was an absolute mess. Candies of varying kinds were scattered all over the floor around the epicenter of it all, and a shards of broken ceramic mingled in with them, likely the remains of a vase or some kind of clay vessel. Thalia was standing far back from the mess, her pale blue eyes wide with fear and worry at what had just happened. Fey was standing among the wreckage, trying to make her way back towards her wheelchair. Aiden blinked a bit in surprise and shock upon seeing that Fey was trying to walk on her own, even though she was still hobbling and favoring her good leg. Was that what she’d been doing back here the entire time? As much as he wanted to ask about that in particular, there was a much more pressing matter at hand concerning the mess. ” Wh-What happened?” he asked, worry and shock clear in his voice as he made his way over towards Fey, ” Are you alright?” He had been really worried when he had heard the sound of breaking pottery, even though it looked like Fey was unharmed from the most part.✦ ✦

Natalia couldn't help but grimace as Aiden stumbled upon the scene, shock displayed clearly on his face as he asked what'd happened. "U-um.... Well..... I walked.... Heh..." Natalia suggested lightly, trying to diminish the matter as much as possible. She glanced over to Thalia as the Sylveon made her way back over now that she wasn't in danger of being flattened by a shelf. Natalia was glad at least that the Sylveon wasn't harmed. "I feel a lot better Aiden, really I do. I can walk just fine, I just.... I don't want to go back to that damn pokecenter and sit around for... Arceus knows how long!" She said firmly. She'd gotten a taste of freedom and now she didn't want to let it go. "I mean... How long have I been stuck here, for a week? Almost a week... I can't... I need to...." Natalia's eyes flicked around the room nervously.
Her old paranoia had never really left her, if she stayed in one place for too long, she was afraid someone would recognize her, or Void would be hot on her trail. Deep down Natalia was afraid of her own shadow, constantly watching her back to make she she wasn't being tagged or watched or... Natalia grit her teeth and forced herself to snap out of it, digging through her bag for her wallet. "Please.... C-can we just go?" She said quietly, breathing a slight sigh as she unzipped her wallet and pulled out a credit card, pushing her wheelchair over to the cash register and stubbornly refusing to sit in it any longer. With that she swiped the card through the reader and gave the kindly clerk an apologetic look. "How much would you need for reimbursement...?" She asked, but the clerk looked troubled. "Er... W-well I don't know, the ceramic was $50, I don't know how many candies were scattered to the floor, probably--" Natalia cut her off. "I don't need an exact estimate, just take an estimate, add $100 or so, and give me a number, I'll pay it." She insisted. "W-well I suppose.... $400 should do it...." The clerk said, clearly uncomfortable taking the money but unable to deny it when Natalia was pressing so hard. Now that they were settles on a dollar amount, Natalia swiped her card through the reader and replaced it back into her wallet.
With that, Natalia turned, wheeling her chair outside and waiting expectantly for Aiden to come out as well. Perhaps she needed another dosage of her medication, she wasn't usually this anxious or bipolar, they were warning signs certainly, but she hadn't heard any voices yet, and Natalia didn't have the surplus of medication that she would have liked to have to afford taking a pill when she didn't actually need it. Unfortunately that also meant riding out these waves of anxiety until she was sure she needed medication, or until the feelings passed. Arceus damn, why did she have to be some kind of psychotic freak like her father....? Whatever her disorder was, she blamed him. It felt awfully similar to what she remembered of him. Yelling things that didn't make sense, lashing out violently and unpredictably, normally being a lot calmer and nicer. She hadn't understand then like she did now, but there was no use lamenting over it.

The shelf that had been tipped over was now lying on its side, though thankfully it didn’t look like Fey or Thalia had been harmed in the chaos that had occurred. His attention was focused primarily on Fey, who now stood on her own two legs next to her wheelchair. She spoke up in a light tone, saying that she had walked, confirming the blonde’s suspicions as she tried to disperse the tension in the atmosphere. Thalia slowly made her way back over towards them after the turmoil had calmed down, feeling rather glad that Fey was unharmed as she gave Aiden a small, sheepish smile. Aiden felt considerably relieved that the two were alright, giving a small smile back to the Sylveon before looking towards Fey as she spoke again. She said that she really did feel a lot better, that she could walk just fine on her own now. She didn’t want to go back to the Pokemon Center and have to continue sitting around for Arceus knew how long. The blonde quirked an eyebrow slightly at that, about to point out that she was going to be released tomorrow anyways. He decided against it, feeling that it would be pointless to argue since Fey’s firm tone had made it clear that she was done with waiting around. He listened as she went on to say that she’d been stuck here for almost a week, though she seemed to trail off midsentence as her eyes darted around nervously. ” Well… if you really feel that you’re well enough now to be up to walking, then maybe we can convince Nurse Joy to release you early,” Aiden responded after giving it a moment of thought, nodding slowly. It was clear that Fey wanted nothing more to do with the wheelchair, and the sooner they could get going onwards to Azalea, the better. However, Aiden couldn’t help but feel concerned, noticing that Fey looked a bit jumpy and more antsy than usual. Maybe it was just from the time she’d spent cooped up in the Center and finally being able to get out after so long, maybe it was something else… He wasn’t entirely sure, but he figured that it was best to not press questions for now as he watched her dig around to find her wallet so she could pay the clerk for the damages. Aiden frowned slightly, but nodded as she asked if they could just go in a quiet voice, seeming to want to get out of here as quickly as possible. ” Sure, let’s go,” he said, giving a small smile to try to lighten things up a little. Scooping Thalia up into his arms, he followed alongside Fey as she went over towards the clerk’s counter, the girl wheeling the chair along with her and clearly not wanting to sit down in it any longer. He stood by, watching the exchange as Fey swiped her card through the reader and asked the clerk how much she would need for reimbursement. The clerk seemed uncertain, saying that the ceramic cost at least fifty-dollars but she wasn’t sure how much it would be since a lot of the mess consisted of candies. Fey cut her off before she could continue, saying that she didn’t need an exact estimate and telling the clerk to just take a rough estimate and add about a hundred dollars to it since she’d pay any amount given. The woman seemed uncomfortable about taking the money, but didn’t have any room to argue otherwise with Fey’s insistence. So she said about four-hundred would do, and Fey quickly swiped her card again and paid the given amount. With that taken care of, Aiden turned to follow after Fey as she headed outside, though he turned and gave the clerk a sheepish smile. ” Really sorry for all of the trouble, miss,” he said apologetically, though the woman didn’t seem too annoyed or angered by the mess that had been made in her store.” Ah, it’s no problem really! Accidents happen, and I’ll have to clean this place up anyways before closing time and all of this Valentine’s Day stuff needs to be taken off the shelves,”the clerk assured with a smile, moving over to grab up a broom and dustpan to start sweeping up the candies and ceramic shards from the floor,” Have a good day!”Aiden smiled at that, waving to her as he stepped out of the store to join Fey, carrying Thalia in his arms the whole while. Closing the door behind them, he turned to glance towards Fey, giving her a small smile. ” Let’s just head back to the Center, maybe if Nurse Joy sees that you can walk just fine she’ll be glad to release you early,” he suggested, trying to make some light of it all. His eyes trailed down towards her feet, a look of concern flashing in his eyes as a thought came to mind. ” How’s your leg, by the way? Still hurting?” he asked, figuring that it might still be pretty sore until it was able to heal completely, ” If you still feel that we’ll need some painkillers to take care of any sores or aches before we leave for Azalea, then we can go ahead and get them while we’re at the Center.” Even if the painkillers weren’t exactly necessary if she could walk fine enough as it were, it wouldn’t hurt to get at least a small bottle of them for the trip. It was going to be quite a walk to get to Azalea from here, Aiden wanted to make sure that they would be well prepared for the journey, for Fey’s sake.✦ ✦
