Avonlea looked over at Jin and Ezra. Well, the blonde seemed to be in a better mood all of a sudden. That was good. She couldn't stand seeing kids upset. It had been one of her biggest fears before the incident."Beedrill aren't that intimidating. The only problem is that the Beedrill around here seem to love Fury Attack. I'm sure your Felix will be just fine if Mikhail could handle one.""Huh? What's that supposed to mean? I can't tell if she's being mean or not.""Felix is stronger than you. She's saying if a Charmander weaker than him can take a Beedrill down, then he shouldn't have any trouble."Well, that made sense then. Still, he felt like Avonlea was being mean, in a logical and discreet sort of way. If she was, why? He was doing his best.

Jin gave a sly little smile at Ezra's retort and chuckled a bit. Two could play it that way."Well, I'd certainly hope someone taking me seriously would know that pellets still aren't a good choice. Something like that deserves Pokeblocks, Poffins... Or a nice slice of cheesecake,"he explained half-jokingly as he counted off the items with the thumb, fore, and middle fingers of his right hand. He was glad that his comment had put the blonde in a somewhat better mood, and was still mostly trying to cheer him up. Although... Now that he thought about it, some cheesecake really did sound rather good, especially if topped with some sweet berries.
Sable raised an eyebrow at the bit of back and forth between the two males, although it was more at Jin's final comment than anything else."I'm not so sure about you eating that sort of stuff, Jin. A berry sandwich was one thing, but cheesecake?"she asked, earning a laugh from the disguised Zorua in return."I assure you, it's exactly as bad for me as it is for any human,"he replied, to which the red-haired trainer gave him a slightly-annoyed glower.
While some of the trainers and the Zorua were chatting, Sable's Eevee decided to sniff around for a while to see what he could find. That, and play in some of the grass for a little bit, mostly to see what wild Pokemon he could stir up into a quick battle. As he explored, the little bundle of fluff didn't find any potential sparring partners, although he did find something shiny and interesting. A little gray disc that seemed to have just been dropped there. Well, Avonlea did say the rule for this sort of thing was "finders, keepers" and it wasn't like there was anyone else around, so the Eevee carefullly grabbed it before heading back to where his trainer was.
By this point, the conversation topic back with the humans had shifted to the fact that Beedrill were starting to show up. Sable nodded at what the two trainers were saying, knowing that she at least had Rose to handle things if they actually did go bad."Yeah... I've never really gotten why Pokemon that evolve too early lose out on moves they had at lower stages... Ah well, makes it a bit easier to fight them,"she commented, then looked around as she heard a couple of Eevee yips.
Sable blinked with a puzzled look on her face and knelt down as her Eevee came over to her with a TM."Where'd you get... Oh, nevermind. Let's see what it is,"she said as she took the disc from the tan and creame fluffball and looked it over."Return, huh? I guess that'd be a good move for you. It probably won't be much better than Tackle at the moment, but it's bound to get better as we keep going,"she commented as she dug out her Pokedex, which was still pink to her dismay. She seriously needed to remember to get some sort of cover thing when she was back in Unova.
It took a while for her to figure out what to press to load up the disc, but eventually she found something and was able to get the TM set up."Right, I guess I'm supposed to press this now... This might feel weird..."she warned as she pushed another button, and soon after the Eevee sitting on the ground was shaking his head a bit. Sable then ejected the used disc and tucked it in her trash pocket for the next time she stopped at a city."There. Now you've got a new move to try out,"she said cheerfully as she put away the Pokedex and knelt down to pat her Eevee on the head.
{{OOC: I've always wondered how, exactly, TMs work and what you use for them. They don't really show a device for them in the games or anime, and it seems like you can always use them. The most I've seen is some sort of headset thing in a manga... But that seems inconvenient for larger Pokemon. The most I could possibly guess is that you load it into a Pokedex, its equivilant in games without Pokedexes (I can only think of two that still have TMs and aren't the mystery dungeon games), or a PC if you don't have a dex and that that somehow loads the move up into the Pokemon.}}

Others would be happy with pellets - Trinity loved Ezra's special made ones - but then there were Pokémon that demanded the more fancy treats."Got it. Avonlea smiled at her three younger companions. Seemed things really had calmed down."Return, huh? What's your Eevee's ability? Return will be a great move ro go with Adaptibility. And, he's holding a silk scarf, too....My, Eevee's shaping up to be a powerhouse."Well, it would certainly help. Power of moves was probably the most important thing in battle, right next to potions."Char?"Avonlea looked down at Mikhail as he sniffed the air and moved around as if trying to find something. The Charmander was suddenly sent into a frightened frenzy when a Pokémon burst from a nearby bush. As Mikhail hid behind Avonlea, she watched the purple Pokémon curiously as it tripped before realizing it was a baby Kangaskhan."Ah~! She's adorable!"Baby Kangaskhan were so cute! She stared at it with stars in her eyes before snapping out of after noticing one very bad omen."Where's the mother? It's unusual for them to be separated...."That usually only happened when there was danger. Which meant something, or someone, forced the two Kangaskhan apart. Avonlea frowned before kneeling next to the small creature. Helping it back to her feet, Avonlea gave a soft smile."Kang....""Are you alright, sweetie? What happened...?"Kangaskhan suddenly burst into tears and clung to Avonlea's arm. The poor thing was so scared! Whoever scared her wasn't going to get away unscathed!"It's alright. You'll be fine. I'll keep you safe until your mother returns."Avonlea stood and, knowing she'd feel safer, removed the ribbon from her hair. Kneeling again, the albino cut a hole in her mantle with her sword before tying the ribbon through the hole and then around her neck. Her own makeshift carrier. She'd fix the damage to her clothes after finding the mother."Come her, little one."Avonlea situated the baby Pokémon into the carrier, and smiled when she made herself comfortable. So cute~!

Sable shrugged a bit at Ezra's guess at an answer to the teen's curiosity, then turned her attention to Avonlea and her comments."Yeah, she has Adaptability. I probably won't stick more than a couple of normal attacks on her, though. The damage boost is nice and all, but Return's a physical attack. There aren't many normal moves that boost or lower physical prowess,"she replied, thinking for a moment. Iron Tail was still good, at least for coverage and letting the fluffball hit harder. Or at least for making the opponent take hits worse. She'd just have to work on helping out the ball of fluff so that the move could be a bit more powerful.
The teen was dragged out of her thoughts by a new presence stumbling into the group. A little bundle of pink and yellow and brown that tripped and fell. It took a few moments for the teen to realize it, but the little Pokemon was a baby Kangaskhan. Granted, the major reason the teen took a while was, aside from being one of those hard-to-find Pokemon, the babies were nearly inseperable from their mother, a fact Avonlea soon voiced."I want to say she's close by, but I'd think we'd have heard her if that was the case..."the red-haired teen muttered in response to the albino's question, then turned her head to look as she felt someone messing with her pack.
Jin had turned away from the finished conversation with Ezra and was digging around in one of the pockets of Sable's pack. The teen didn't mind too much, mostly because the Zorua was one of her Pokemon now, but it didn't seem like the best of times. At least, not until Jin found what he was looking for and pulled it out to fiddle with the wrapper. It was one of the bars of chocolate she had picked up to snack on occasionally, and the disguised dark type soon got the packet open and broke off a small piece of the candy bar and moved in front of... Well, in front of Avonlea now, since she had turned part of the cloak-like thing she was wearing into a baby carrier.
Standing just close enough to do so, Jin held out the small piece of chocolate for the baby Kangaskhan to take if it wanted it."It's alright, little one. You're safe now. No one here's going to hurt you,"he said to the young Pokemon with a soft and quiet voice, a stark contrast to the tone he had used while joking around with Ezra."Can you tell us anything about what happened?"he asked with the same soft voice, allowing his tail to flick out of its hiding place and into plain view so the little baby could see that the dark-haired teen wasn't exactly human. That was perhaps the biggest advantage about what he was, the fact that he'd be able to fully understand the baby - aside from, well, baby talk - and be able to relay the info back to the humans.

That was...very nurturing. He noticed she had a motherly side, but she was showing care not shown by women who weren't mothers. His own mother aside, of course. So, was she a mom? Ezra looked over at Jin when he suddenly added to the nurturing air by offering the infant some chocolate and speaking to her gently. It made Ezra smile a bit. The whole thig was worrying, but also sweet and cute."Give her some space, Trinity. I know you're worried, but you'll just scare her more. Okay?""Pri...."

Jin was slightly relieved when the little baby accepted the piece of candy and started nibbling at it. At least that specific kind was safe for Pokemon consumption, and while not exactly the best thing to give an infant in terms of nutrition, it would hopefully help calm her down. The baby's explanation, though, got rid of most of the disguised Zorua's relief. Despite that, he kept his illusion's expression calm and caring, so as not to startle the baby Kangaskhan."I'm sure she'll be alright,"he said softly, although he was fairly sure it was a lie. At least, it would be if they couldn't find the child's mother before these "bad men" took her away.
Gears turning in his head, Jin broke off another square of the chocolate bar and held it out for when the baby finished with the one it was nibbling at."Can you remember anything else about these bad men? Maybe what they were wearing or what Pokemon they used?"He quietly and calmly asked the child, already having a few pieces of information but needing a bit more to make sure he could track down the right people. He already had a rough idea of the direction he would need to look in, specifically the direction the baby had run in from. He just wanted to make sure that if he encountered people in that direction, he only bothered with the ones that needed to be dealt with."It's alright if you don't, we're still more than willing to help you and your mother. It would just be nice to know what to be careful of when we look for her."
For the most part, Sable kept her mouth shut during the exchange. The pit of her stomach was churning due to the situation, especially if she was guessing right from the portion of the conversation she could understand. From what she could tell, some people had done something to the Kangaskhan's mother, and because of that the young one had ended up fleeing until she kinda crashed into the group. Although, she had to give Jin a raised eyebrow when the disguised Zorua essentially volunteered the group to be a search party. Didn't he decide he wanted to tag along with her specifically to keep her from making rash decisions like that? Not that she'd actually have refused if he asked her, it just seemed a bit contradictory to her.

I'll just need to try and stay far away from any poison clouds that might be spewed out,"she commented dryly, not so much out of confidence as to state that she had something beneficial. She looked at Ezra and then at the baby that was now curled up and asleep."It'll be fine. We'll keep our distance if Jin or one of the others catch scent of the gas. Worst comes to worse, we'll have to head to Pewter or Viridian to report poachers to Officer Jenny."Avonlea would be up for full-on search, but she would be putting the baby in danger if she did. And, she doubted the mother would appreciate that after telling her to run.

Sable frowned a bit at the concern Ezra had for her safety. Not because she felt like he thought she couldn't handle herself, but because it sounded like he was saying she hadn't considered the risks."I just said I'd have to be careful to not get caught in it, didn I? Unless you guys also have access to psychic attacks, I'm not liking the idea of standing back while you guys risk your necks,"she replied, then swished what remained of the water in her canteen around a bit before taking a sip. It sounded like it was getting a bit low, and while the teen wasn't too worried about messing with a floating bag of gas, she was worried about what being low on water could mean for afterwards."Still, it would probably be a good idea to stock up on supplies in one of the cities. At least some antidotes or something in case our Pokemon get poisoned."
Jin had been nodding along with most of the conversation, although the idea of leaving the poachers or whatever they were be for any longer than necessary worried him. He was well aware of how much of a pain it would be to track these sort of people down if they took too long to search for them. Still, his trainer was right, they'd probably need to get some supplies for when they fought and after the battle."Maybe we could split up for a while if it comes down to it? While the conversation went on, Sable's Eevee went back to sniffing around for an opponent. This time, he managed to find one that was willing to see how strong the normal type's attacks were. A Kakuna, who seemed rather confident that it'd take a while for the small Pokemon to do a hefty amount of damage to it. Of course, one hit with Return quickly showed the bug how wrong it was and knocked the cocoon Pokemon back quite a ways. Not exactly the most challenging of opponents, but it did give the Eevee some practice with his new attack. It was already starting to look powerful, which made him pretty happy as he yipped and bounded back over to his trainer. Even better was his trainer crouching down to give him a light scratch behind an ear afterwards."Just don't wander off too far from us. We don't want to be looking for you, too,"the teenage trainer advised, to which the Eevee gave a yip and a nod.
