W-wow. I must commend you for re-setting your character, especially when you had two legendaries!
( More room for new legends huehue )
Always more room for new legends. XD In all seriousness, though, I just did it to help with mental categorization. Dunno why, it just makes it easier to keep in mind which one is which. Plus, I dunno about anyone else, but I always feel it's awkward to try and join in the events of an RP, either new or long-running, when it seems like the majority of the cast is super powerful while I'm... Wimpy. So also helps newer people feel a bit better to see characters on the lower end of the scale from time to time. At least, that's how I feel. :3

Aww, focus punch isn't obscenely overpowered anymore :c (Sorry Mochi, lol)

-also dunno if it was intentional, but usually the move just takes one turn to activate, with the opponent's pokemon acting between activating/actually attacking and the attacks thread has it taking 2 turns-

I've gotta say, I'm liking how everything is closer to how the games worked, and the items thread is really cool. (Neat idea with the event poke balls and some of the event items!)

-Err, actually another question, for the Ability Capsule, would that mean that if you had, say, an Umbreon you could teach it Adaptability? -

Oh, that's really thoughtful of you ^w^

I'm planning on leaving HL, so I wanted to just bring Riley over and then maybe make a new character for a fresh start too :3

Not picking at the item list, just pointing out that I couldn't help but burst out in laughter after reading the description of Balm Mushroom. Mostly because I just sold one in Alpha Sapphire earlier today. rofl

Ability Capsules only change a Pokemon's ability to the other standard ability that it can have if there are two possible standard abilities it can have. So, for example, Milotic has Marvel Scale and Competitive as its two standard abilities. So if you used an Ability Capsule on a Milotic with the Marvel Scale ability, its ability would be changed to Competitive. Unfortunately, Ability Capsules can't give a Pokemon its Hidden Ability or work on Pokemon with their Hidden Ability, and it won't work on Pokemon that only have one standard ability. At least, that's what the gist of it is according to Serebii. So, no Adaptability Umbreon, unfortunately... sad

Oh, thank you~! I'll probably wait until the guild's been open a bit before I ask / go for a new character, just so ya'll have time to get set -w-
(And I'll have to check-over all the rules to make sure I got all the differences between this and HL )

I definitely like the idea of being able to buff up event pokemon, maybe have them be based on the level of your current team?

That's.... very thoughtful of you ^^;; Hopefully we'll be able to smooth things over in the first few weeks and then get a steady rhythm and start taking on the funner projects and things : >

Yeah, we're trying to allow for some creativity on that, but that'll be something we start working out after we've got the other things done x3 Hopefully we can figure out something fair for everyone.

Lia Syuki
Heheh, yeah. Of course, that's no excuse to be totally ignorant, but I should at least manage to avoid making the mistake of trying to go to a city on the other side of the region. XD I missed out on generations four and five completely, and am trying to catch up with all the strange changes to the battle system now that I have Alpha Sapphire. I have found that I adore horde battles, and can't wait to face the five Aqua grunts at once just for the sheer novelty of it. I mean, come on! It's about time they charged us all at once! Bad guy Zergling rush! >D

Fine, yes, just not as deep as she could be. Then again, it's not like there'd be much interesting to put that someone couldn't figure out by just playing Colosseum or Gale of Darkness. It's like someone saying they grew up in Saffron during the time that Team Rocket stormed Silph Co. Pretty important and has an impact, but unless it forced you to either join up or try and fight back, it just defines the person's attitude towards certain things.

Well, if it's any help, we've got the connected routes on the front page of each location, and we're going to try and put links into them so that you can easily go from one place to the other x3
And I know, right? xD It always seemed odd that the bad guys would respect morals like that or anything, and not just all attack you at the same time.

Gotcha >w< Well, I definitely look forward to reading her profile~!
Also, I have to agree with WhiteDragonfly! It's very commendable to restart, especially with those legends. I almost wanted to restart Ajicka, but I've done so much with her, and I have.... like 150 pre written posts for her that I just recently figured out how to still use. But, once we've got things settled down a bit, and I've been able to get my characters back in action, I'm hoping to bring in a third character I've really been wanting to use >w> Only after I've made sure everyone else has had a chance to make their second character, and the guild is running smoothly, of course.

Yes, that would definitely be a major help. :3 If nothing else, it'd let me keep my route numbers straight when I look them up on Bulbapedia. And yes, it always seemed so silly to me that they obviously want you out of the way at the very least, and never think to take you on more than one at a time.

o.o I'll admit, I never prewrite stuff for my characters. Ever. I mean, I might try it for soloing, but to be honest, I'd rather think of something on the spot while interacting with someone else. If I wanted to RP solo, I'd write a fanfic. XD No offense at all to people who like to write fanfictions.

Mhm. Then again, I mean... bad guys in pokemon have never proved to be especially smart....

I love rping with people, but there are some things I need to do with Ajicka to get her so that she's actually capable of interacting with people again, and so that I can get some of the pokemon that have piled up to her, as well as a few genera plot devices done. Plus I was really, really bored while unable to post the past few months >> ;;

Smart, maybe not. Pragmatic? Maybe not as much as they'd like to come off as in the games (since, you know, usually your character is a walking item shop by the time you're busting through their bases), but I know they can fight downright dirty in the manga and anime. You'd think someone would have the gall to say "Screw the rules! Get that brat!" or something. Then again, only about half of the criminal organizations in the main games are actually evil (Team Rocket, Team Neo Plasma, and Team Flare to be precise; Team Aqua, Team Magma, and Team Plasma seem to mostly just be misguided, and I don't have much of a clue about Team Galactic). ...Which then makes it weird that the nicer of the teams were the ones to use the horde attack first...

I guess that makes sense. I just have way too hard of a time staying focused if my character is alone for too long. Although, having those posts premade would be useful I guess. Doesn't help that I have a hard time making sideplots for myself. sweatdrop

Mhm. I know the manga, at the very least, is extremely different. The anime, at least with Jesse and James, was a stupid kind of play dirty, but I didn't get much farther than a few seasons for that show, so I dunno if it changed.
Heh, yeah, true, but that was probably more the game writers trying new ideas than trying to practically consider which teams would most likely do what xD Plus, even if they were misguided, they were pretty adamant in their goals, and they still acted like bullies at times, so I guess it makes sense.

I understand that. I could never do this kind of thing for Marx o -o Ajicka and her pokemon, especially with the Halloween Ball and such, have enough that I pretty much need to keep her isolated until she's a bit better off, and then I'll be throwing her back into social interaction =w= Plus it just gave me something to do while the battle was going >w<
And, honestly, I'll totally admit that plots are generally way more fun with other people D: I have one plot for Marx to help him finally grow that spine he's been lacking, but I've been talking with others so that there will hopefully be more to him, and I can use it to help others with any plots/things they wanted to have happen. Plotting is probably my favorite thing about rping. That, and meeting interesting characters * w*

Yeah, I at least plan on getting Sable into some bad guy battles that are more manga-style in the type of trouble she's in. Probably won't get any points for them, since it'd require using moves in ways they aren't meant to be used (like using String Shot to tie up a trainer in the middle of the battle), but it'd still be fun and I'd still keep track of damage and who's knocked out. Of course, then the problem would be pacing... I've either got the games or my tabletop experience to go on, and neither one is good for this. Game pacing would mean I'd blow through the baddies no sweat, while the tabletop one... I'd be squaring off with bosses before my third gym. >_> This does not make for good pacing. Even Ruby and Sapphire waiting until after that third badge to pit you against your game's boss. :c

...I'll admit, I both regret not joining in that Halloween event and am glad I didn't participate. It seemed awesome and like something I'd have enjoyed bringing Sable into, it really did. It just really didn't help that there was a lot of fighting between the RPers. :c I mean, I know part of it was stress from the holidays and part of it was some of the stuff going on in the actual event, but... The whole atmosphere of the place just felt toxic for a long while with how much RPers were at one another's throats. :c Not trying to take sides or point fingers, just saying my impression of the situation.

Heh, and there are so many options for bad guys, too x3 There are the traditional teams, and... I still need to put it up, but there are a few other teams that people have that they've expressed interest in plotting for/with, so there's all kinds of options. I'm not familiar with tabletop pacing, though, so I can't really say much on that ^^ ;; Sorry.

You know, as a participant, I kind of feel the same, but, honestly, I actually am glad I joined, for... various reasons. And I agree, the ideas Prince came up with were great, and very interesting, and I appreciate the opportunity they presented my characters. And I will stay on that positive not and move onto your remark about the atmosphere which, I have to say, I 100% agree on, and I know several others felt the same. Which is why knowing who was involved in that makes me even more uncomfortable... And a huge part of why this guild was made. Why we have the courtesy rule. Because we really just want to be able to enjoy rping, and keep the ooc, and conversations, from poisoning an entire thread the way some of those fights seemed to. It just... seems to make things really uncomfortable and difficult for a lot of people.... >.< ;;

It's on our list of things to do >w< I'm glad it'll be of use!
Mhm. Then again, I mean... bad guys in pokemon have never proved to be especially smart....

I love rping with people, but there are some things I need to do with Ajicka to get her so that she's actually capable of interacting with people again, and so that I can get some of the pokemon that have piled up to her, as well as a few genera plot devices done. Plus I was really, really bored while unable to post the past few months >> ;;
Smart, maybe not. Pragmatic? Maybe not as much as they'd like to come off as in the games (since, you know, usually your character is a walking item shop by the time you're busting through their bases), but I know they can fight downright dirty in the manga and anime. Yeah, I've noticed a few profiles mention something about a Team Void, so I suppose I'll have to be careful of those guys. Of course, until she finds proof otherwise, Sable's gonna think these teams (including the established ones like Team Rocket and the like) are all a bunch of pushovers compared to her home region's main group of criminals.

As for the tabletop, it wasn't so much a pacing problem in and of itself (I think third gym was farthest anyone got in any of the attempts, since we were playing between classes at college), just that... With the fact that my character was a psychic in there (actually mattered less than one might think; mostly let me communicate telepathically with my Pokemon), the Pokemon she had, the way she trained them, the way she battled, and just the sheer luck we had on die rolls, it was literally the only thing the guy running the game had left to throw at me at one point. Heck, I steamrolled an Admin. Twice. With him having an improved team the second time. Before my first gym badge. Because he was in the best area for grinding experience points at the time. That's how bad things got. It took him throwing team leaders/bosses at me just to make me lose against a bad guy.

Yeah... All in all, the event itself seemed fun, it was mostly the atmosphere that was killing things. It did, however, renew my concerns about making an actual... Actual... I'm sorry, but there's no other word I could accurately use to describe the type of character that I'd want to make than a complete and total a*****e. Unfortunately, it just seems that too many people take what happens to their characters a bit too personally. I mean, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't like seeing someone push around Sable for no good reason, but I'd at least keep the irritation in-character. Heck, the person playing the character could be the most awesome and nice person in the world, and I'd still feel annoyed. But I'd also still actually try to talk to the person out of character, though, and try to figure out if it's just the character or someone bringing outside problems into the RP.

And, heh, from what I understand of some of the teams, there's definitely opportunity for her to learn otherwise about some of them being pushovers >w>

Ohhh, I see o.o Huh! Well that must have been interesting.... Lol and gained quite a bit of exp xD

Mhm. I had my frustrations with a few other things, but it was mostly a worsening atmosphere that just.... amplified anything.
I'll be honest >.> I love difficult characters. I enjoy playing them and getting to know them, but only if they're done well. And there's a certain way to write them. Like, I actually really enjoyed how Prince wrote Ridley, and I appreciated her character. But I could understand how people might have been a little put off, and there are other ways I've seen characters like that written that just makes it really hard to enjoy interacting with them.
Personally, I try and never take things too personally, but I do have to admit that there were some posts I read that, if the writer hadn't said that they weren't writing to attack people, I might have wondered if they were doing exactly that, just because of the way it was written. I think it basically comes down to whether you can make fun of your own jerk-ish character or not x3
At any rate, I hope that whole thing didn't deter you too much, especially not if it's a character you really want to make ^^ After all, those kind of characters can be some of the funnest ones out there >w<

Oh, I look forward to seeing them in action. >:3 Almost as much as I look forward to Sable getting trashed at some point in time by some bad guy or other. XD Seriously, I always feel like my characters need a good trashing at some point or another.

Yes, so much experience... Especially the time where a level 20-something Ducklett managed to beat a level 50 Nidoking... All because of a lucky Water Pulse... And the area had a fire gym, too. *shakes head* That gym battle was so sad...

Honestly, the whole Prince and Shadows being the same person thing... It still seems odd to me and I'm honestly not entirely sure I believe it. I can't say I disbelieve it, either, and getting along with both of them (at least, from what little I interacted with them) doesn't help matters any. I will say that I enjoyed having Sable interact with Ridley as well, just because the whole notion of nice(ish) girl from bad area interacting with bad(ish) girl from nice area was funny as all hell to me. Obviously the two would have had things to disagree on, but they still seemed like they'd mesh pretty well.

Eh, I plan on it, but the real jerk will be the secondary character. To give an idea of what I have in mind... The next trainer to enter the lab after him is going to find a some of the scientists and the professor taped to their chairs (or some other way of unable to move/communicate, depending on what horoscope is going on around the time I put this guy together). Just to hit the ground running and show that he means business. >:3 Sable... She'll have her jerk moments, especially if you push her too far, but for the most part she's a nice person.

You know, as a participant, I kind of feel the same, but, honestly, I actually am glad I joined, for... various reasons. And I agree, the ideas Prince came up with were great, and very interesting, and I appreciate the opportunity they presented my characters. And I will stay on that positive not and move onto your remark about the atmosphere which, I have to say, I 100% agree on, and I know several others felt the same. Which is why knowing who was involved in that makes me even more uncomfortable... And a huge part of why this guild was made. Why we have the courtesy rule. Because we really just want to be able to enjoy rping, and keep the ooc, and conversations, from poisoning an entire thread the way some of those fights seemed to. It just... seems to make things really uncomfortable and difficult for a lot of people.... >.< ;;
Yeah, I've noticed a few profiles mention something about a Team Void, so I suppose I'll have to be careful of those guys.

Mhm! I have a team I haven't quite introduced yet, and I know Wolkova does too, and I'm extremely hopeful to plot with people, if anyone's interested, just because.... plots <3

Hehe yesss >w> Kail, my third character, will be an ex member of it, too. Depending on Sable's personality, he could possibly provide some antagonism towards her, since he's still a bit of a jerk, particularly to friendly people, but whether he and/or his team, or any of the other teams are preferred, I'm sure there will be ample opportunity for that thrashing. (And I totally know what you mean =w= I feel the same about many of my characters much of the time)

Ho dang xD That, uh.... yeah, that's pretty lucky....

To be honest, I know for a fact that they're the same person. I've had it confirmed to me, not to mention all the reasons I had suspected it. However, I mean it when I say that I'm glad you had positive experiences with him on both accounts : ) And I can only imagine how interesting that interaction must have been x3 It's certainly a funny pair up.

Oh my o.o That would be.... actually really interesting to walk in on xD You've certainly peaked my curiosity enough to investigate when you make him and post for him. He sounds interesting already!
