He shied, and placed his hands behind his head, " I rest my case." In the end he was right and he knew it. She like everyone else in the family was quick to say they were different the the others putting up their defences altomaticly. It wasn't long before he was standing in a hotel forking over what he had left for a room. Once in his room he unfolded a map, planning where he would go next in the morning.

Hana was unseen and unheard of for the next few days leading up to the night of the ball. And then the day finally came around. The family who were attending spent the whole day preparing and travelling. Upon arriving in Russia there was a certain tension that put them all on edge. The weather was freezing and the snow was thick however it didn't matter for the members of the family that were close to Kiera upon reaching the Russian winter palace. The place that Kyle had been residing for the past year, the palace was a beautiful traditional Russian building, with spires popping up everywhere around the giant centre of strange shapes that Evelin thought was weird for a building to have. Upon walking inside the front doors with numerous other important looking people, the family were instantly greeted with Nate wearing a grey suit and a half mask that was in the shape of a moon, embellished with blue and grey colours. "A pleasure to see you could make it." Kiera led the family, wearing a long white dress with gold ribbon wrapped around it and a white mask that covered the top half of her face, more importantly disguising her eyes. Evelin and Theodore stood eagerly behind Shortstraw and Kiera, Evelin wearing a long light pink dress with white gloves and a mask that looked almost like a cloud. However both Evelin and Theodore weren't as young as they were in the last ball they went to, in their clothes this time they looked young adult like, and now Evelin was starting to show developments of her own teenagehood of her own. Cale, Veira, Amelia and Amelie followed. Naturally, Amelie wore a blood red dress. Dante and even Soflora stood behind them. Dante was making sure to keep a close watch over her, but with her insisting that they would go he couldn't resist her wishes. He was just happy to have her back again, and found every opportunity he could to kiss her or hold her close. "I need to speak to Kyle." No formalities, Kiera was straight into business. Nate sighed, looking back to his list of people. "He's on the balcony speaking with the leader of China. I'll have someone inform him that you've all arrived." Evelin got a little excited at the mention of Kyle. They hadn't seen him in so long, she longed to be able to talk with him. After the family made their way inside towards the massive ballroom and never ending masses of people, Evelyn and Ruji duly followed. Evelyn wore the dress she'd found in the shop that day, and had a black mask that covered most of her face. "And you're sure they couldn't sense us?"

*Ruji made sure they didn't follow the exact suit as the others, and that they stayed clear. His arm was around Evelyns, and his suit perfict,.. a mask however none other then a black cat. He gave a nod, "I was carful by using this..." he whispered pulling something out of his pocket. Even though it barly showed for a second before it went back in, "it's a spechal powder. It doesn't hide our aura, instead it changes the appearance of it for 24 hours." He nodded, "we have to make sure not to get deep in. Stay mostly to the sidelines. Remember our story and background." He whispered so low only she would hear next to him as they walked into the ball room finally. Ruji however about stopped, "intereging!" he was in a daze for a moment before they turned and headed to the side of the ballroom. "Alright lets start the scouting." He whispered looking around here and there without susspition, as if looking for a persific person... "look for guards, any trouble... anything odd."
Theador litarly was looking for someone, "Come on come on, she has to be here somewhere... but how will I find her with all the masks." He frowned even though it couldn't be seen. His mask was naturly a phoenixe, or rather a little golden bird...
Cresent walked behind Donte and Solfora, a bit to the side, she was going to come with her usarl gear. She never wore a dress in her life, nor had she ever gone anyone without a sword on her back. Nor has she ever in her many hundreds of years, ever wore a mask. Donte made her, in order for her to come. And she was dedicated enough to come. Moon was there too though beside her with a giggle, waring a blue-ish purple dress. "You really should ware dresses more often cresent. It's more lady like." Cresent growled, "im not a lady. I'm a killer." Well someone could probably recognize her if they wante because her black dress had spikes sticking out through the fabric, from the belts she never took off. But at least it blended in well.
Solfora on the other hand had been doing better then she expected. She was barly drawn to dontes blood, like old times. But she made sure to feed daily now, just alittle when he went to bed. Everything would b fine then. She wore a long red and dark grey dress, bat earings on her ears, and makup of course on her face. This had to be the most butiful she had ever looked in her life, even when they were getting married. "Donte... shouldn't we see him too? Kinda the ideal reason to be here after all."
Veria on the other hand was pretty obvious. She had the dark green dress that changed color, as if scales to a snake, it could have been snake skin even. Her mask was that of demon with horns. Her green hair added to her look perfectly too, it almost looked natural. She walked like she owned the place, swinging her hips around while dragging cale around to meet the other guests. Amiellea was of course with Ameile, dressed in a black dress, with a fox mask, Rose was on her shoulder, in her fox form, but she also wore a mask, for the fun of it.

Evelyn nodded and hugged his arm tight. "It's weird being back in a place like this carrying out undercover missions, I feel like a young demon again." She took in a deep breath. "And the sweet smell of canapes and alcohol." She dragged Ruji to the wall and pulled him along carefully, looking eagerly towards the different kinds of people around. All enormously rich and posh looking. "Look at them all." She sighed. "It's so hard to tell who's who. I've already lost all of the family." She looked to him with a frown. "This might be harder than we thought."
Dante smiled to Soflora with a nod. "Yes, that's a good idea. Although I've learned never to get in my sisters way. She'll get to him first, and we'll follow on after, okay?" Losing the rest of the family apart from Crescent and Moon, Dante pulled Soflora close and put a hand on her cheek. "I'm just really happy to be able to do this with you, you know? All that can be put on hold for a moment." he pulled back his dark wolf mask for a moment to kiss her cheek.
Kiera looked up from the crowds to see Kyle and the leader of China walk out onto a balcony overlooking the whole of the ballroom. They appeared to be laughing and enjoying a good chat between old successful friends. Kyle wore a traditional black suit with a grey waistcoat, and a white mask of a fox with tribal markings, however it was unmistakingly Kyle as his bushy black hair was lazily tied back to keep most of the hair from his face, although his wavy bangs almost covered his eyes still. Behind them stood the sturdy Russian leader and his associates daughter, the girl that Evelin quickly recognised to be the one that had crashed near their castle a couple of years ago. Xenia. She'd grown slightly, and her long black hair was brought into a braid at the side of her chest. She wore a long dark red dress and an owl half mask. When Kyle had finished talking to the Chinese leader he quickly slipped the Russian leader a few words before walking down the steps towards Kiera and Shortstraw. As he came close Evelin felt her face redden, luckily for her she was wearing the mask to cover it. Kyle did a small bow to Kiera as Kiera curtseyed back and they both put on incredibly fake smiles to each other. "So glad you all decided to come to this little gathering. I hope you'll find it to be beneficial in the long run." Kiera scowled however it didn't show very well. "Are you idiotic, Kyle? Do you know how many important people there are here tonight?" Kyle held a small grin underneath his mask. "Of course. I invited them." He glanced towards Evelin and Theodore to diffuse Kiera's tension. "I'm so happy to see you two here tonight too." Evelin felt her face redden even more. "W-we were.. I-I was.. excited to see you.. Kyle.." She looked to the floor, embarrassed.

*Theador was looking up at Xenia then glanced down, "oh ummm... hey kyle..." He leaned alittle and whispered in his ear, "think I can get to Xenia or is she like... unapproachable here?" He was unsure but he figured if anyone he could as Kyle, seems theador still had his little crush, and he had looked back up at the young women. It has been a while since they met... he hoped she hadn't forgotten him already... For once he wasn't there to just tease Evelin. He smiled though, to kyle, "oh and... good to see you too cozen. Havn't seen you in a while. Been buisy huh. All that leader stuff." Another looked to Xeina.
Ruji glared even though it wasn't really seeable, "I was prepaired for this. Thus is why I wanted to get in by sneaking in the roof." He whispered looking along the balcony, "we need to get up high... get a good look from above and it could help us plan roots, or locate key memebers of the family that will need out help if something goes wrong." He looked to Evelyn however, "ah yes I almost forgot your still younger then me, but still quiet older then your apprince. I had forgotten your not as young." He put a arm around her shoulder, "I mean that in a good way of course... I perhaps should have thought that through before saying it. Lets just... stick to the mission."
Soflora blushed and hugged donte, "awww your so cute when you try to be romantic~" She however shifted his mask back onto his face, "remember the rules, masks on though honey... at least for now." She however hugged him there for a moment before looking around.
Meanwhile shortstraw looked to keria, "keria be easy on the lad now... no need to be so mean. We've tried things like this before too you know." He chuckled and rubbed kyles hair, "I for one am happy to be a guest. Thankyou for the invite." He looked around, "I do wonder how this is going to work however... are you announcing the people or... is it just everyone in genral in one place to meet and converse?"

Kyle grinned and put his hands in his pockets. "A bit of both. There's side rooms for those who want to privately converse. Guards stationed outside and inside of them too of course, for safety. Human and Yokai guards alike, too, to avoid racism. And plenty of entertainment to keep everyone bonding." Kiera brought a gloved hand up to her chin. "Glad to see you at least have this well thought out." Kyle held a small unknown smirk. "When do I not?" He looked back to Theodore. "You're very welcome to try and pry Xenia away from Russia's leader, although be wary. He's her godfather." He snickered. "A protective man, he is." Evelin giggled to her brother. "You're so gonna get beaten down." Kyle chuckled slightly. "Never push a man down for trying." Kiera pulled a face as she looked to Kyle. "You seem in a much better mood than when I last saw you." She looked back to Shortstraw for a second as a side note. "Don't worry so much, the boy can take constructive criticism." Kyle sighed. "I was never in a bad mood, I can assure you that." Soon enough Dante and Soflora came up to the group, Dante of course going up to Kyle for a hug. He was always the most friendly of people to meet. "Kyle! Good to see you again! This place is amazing, how did you manage to set this up?" Kyle looked to the balcony again to see the Russian leader move onto the outside part of the balcony rather than the inside. "I have a feeling the Russian leader has warmed up to me a little now, he's a stubborn man, but if you wear him down he is negotiable." Dante grinned and squeezed Soflora's hand. "It's impressive. Even Kiera's ball wasn't this big and fancy." Kiera grunted and pulled Shortstraw's arm. "Com'on." She led herself and Shortstraw away from the group to go and talk with other people.
As Evelyn and Ruji slowly made their way over to the stairs leading up to the balcony they bumped into a woman with a long puffed out cream dress with a fox mask that was similar to Kyle's. Her creamy hair was all tied up in an intricate bun and she wore gloves that went all up her arm. "Oh! Sorry!" The woman exclaimed, before quickly moving on to disappear into the crowd. Evelyn's eyes thinned a moment as she looked into the crowd but the woman was gone. "Did that woman seem familiar to you?" She asked him, before shaking her head and walking up the steps.

Shortstraw felt keria imbistion to drag him away and about fell over and been dragged the rest of the way, "hey hey easy... easy... slow down..." he called after her as they faded into the crouwd.
Menahwile Theador nodded and tried to man up, "I don't know why I feel weak all of a sudden... Kyle I'm knida scared. What if she never liked me... or remembers me..." fright started to kick him, "we've been trying really hard this past year. Evlein is way stonger too, we can control our fire now, well more then before..." he attempted to push himself forword taking a deep breath, "well here goes nothing..." he started to make his way to the stairs to the balcony... his legs shaking a bit as he climbed up...
Ruji shrugged, "not really. Then again I barly really pay close attention around the family memebers we live with. That's why I have you for." He pointed to the balcony, there... lets head there first, it's less... odd I presume."

Evelyn and Ruji headed up to the balcony where they could see all of the ball and what was happening between the little social groups, while behind them was the other part of the balcony that was opened up to the winter air and the outside, although the heat of the room did well to counteract the cold. "We can see everything from up here, it's perfect." "I can have a f** here without people moaning at me too." Evelyn quickly turned to see Hana there, surprisingly looking well fashioned for the event in a long light blue dress with a white wolf mask. However she held a cigarette between her fingers delicately and so much like a lady. Evelyn scowled. "Hana-" "Don't worry you big-titted demon. I won't snitch you guys out to the others. Although staying up here won't do much for staying incognito. It's like having a big sign above your heads saying 'Look at us! We're up here!'" Hana giggled as Evelyn pulled a face. "We could say the same for you know." Hana grinned. "Did I say I was trying to stay anonymous? Nope." She leaned over the balcony causally. "From up here I can scout all the hot guys, it's so difficult with all their masks though." Evelyn grimaced and pulled Ruji to the side so that they couldn't be seen as much. "Yeah well.. good luck with that."
As soon as Xenia spotted Theodore she did a little squeal and rushed over to him, almost tripping over her dress as she did so. "Theodore! You actually came!" She smiled and quickly took his hands. "I was so worried you weren't going to come. I mean my godfather said your family was coming but I hadn't seen you all in so long I was worried you weren't going to be interested in coming." She sighed and smiled to him, which was visible through her half mask. "I'm glad you're here, with your sister too I guess?"

*Theador was in slow motion aww as he saw her running to him, calling his name, it was like a slow motion in a movie scen, until she trips, and he snaps out of it to try and cetch her. He was more or less ont he spot though, she did remember him... and expected him too? He gulped with a blush, although it was apparent he was trying to hide it, "..I.. we had a big family meeting about coming, and as soon as I knew we were coming to Russia... I thought .. o... of you..." he was starting to talk like Evelin. Oh god. He had to bulk up, he was a man, this could be his women maybe. " He smiled, "you lo... look buitiful... I... in a dress... I mean in genral.. I mean... you look different then before..." He shied. This wasn't easy.
Ruji about stumbled, "great ten minets in and we already blew our cover." He shied and looked out, "well then Mis Hana, perhaps you can be of assistance. Anything out of the ordinary? Surly you know why we are here by now." He wasn't helping there cusle it seemed. It was so much easyer as a cat, let Evelyn do all the walk and talk. But he didn't really fear hana, or really feel a need to push her away either. She was just a girl in his eyes.
Down below though there was a young man moving through the crowd to the food table. As he lifted his mask up to grab a bite, hana's eyes would probably suddenly spot him... Joch. He was pigging out, stuffing food into his mouth like he had never eaten before. It was a wonder how he even got in here. It's not like he knew anyone.

Xenia giggled and smiled to him. "Thanks Theodore. You don't look too bad yourself." She looked out to all the people talking. "Everyone looks so amazing tonight. I saw your mother walking through the crowds, she looked prettier than when I last saw her. Although I suppose she's an angel, she's supposed to be the prettiest here." She smiled back to Theodore. "I love coming to these kinds of things and seeing what people wear. Everyone has their own style, you know? Even though everyone's wearing masks, sometimes it's easy to tell who they are anyway."
Hana found her gaze lingering on the guy however looked back to Ruji with a tilt of her head, leaning back on the balcony railing. "I've already witnessed about two murders, several schemes in the making and even some adultery around places. Although what would a party be without it? Nothing to concern yourself with, I assure you." She looked back down into the crowd, flicking her cigarette butt outside. "Now if you'll excuse me.." She disappeared down the stairs as Evelyn sighed. "I don't know if she was being truthful or if she was just winding us up." She rubbed the back of her neck. "That's the trouble with events like these.. so much could happen."
Hana walked behind Joch and casually put her hands behind her back as she whistled and came close to whisper in his ear from behind. "Guess who."
"Evelin.. I'm sorry if this seems bold but I was wondering if you would like to dance?" He held his gloved hand out to her as she blushed intensely. This was all she ever wanted, and yet.. "But there's no music playing.." Kyle grinned and snapped his fingers as suddenly the band started to play and people started to get in their positions, Evelin finding herself with Kyle in the middle of the dancing circle. "Oh." She blinked rapidly and carefully took his hand. "O-okay then.."

Ruji shied, "I think she was being... I belive the work is sercasti.. sercasti... c." He shrugged, "whatever the word I am looking for is. That. Lets just scan the area, make sure we don't witness anything odd, if we do, that's where we go first..." He looked over the railing down stairs, "there are a lot of people here... the chances are... slim something wont happen."
Theador blushed more, "yea. Everyone is always talking about my mom all the time..." He shrugged, "it's because of her..." he pulsed, noticing he was looking at Xeinas chest when he was thinking about it and quickly tried to look away, "body. She has a body people cant resist or... or something like that. Yea... Ehm... I missed you since you been gone. Was hopeing you would come visit again... though I guess the world was kinda messed up when we... had to split up and all..." he put a hand behind his neck and wipe off the sweat, "would you... like to dance...?" He didn't know why he said it, it just came out.
Meanwhile Jock jumped and spun around with a face full of food, and his hands up as if to defend his face as he swallowed, "I thought the food was free!" But then he noticed it was a face he had reconized for once and he blinked a moment. "you again... hana wasn't it?" He looked around, "huh I guess that makes sense." He shrugged and turned back to the food, "I had to get in here by hiding under this one latys long dress that dragge ont he floor. She never even noticed me." He chuckled, "the trip all the way here was fun though~" He went back to eating like he hadn't had food for days... maybe he hadn't. He wasn't waring a suit either for say, the same clothing as before actually. The same exact clothing, it stood out. But he didn't care. So what, he didn't belong with the rich people, and leaders, bla who cared. He was there for the experience to see a great ball, and the free food!

As the music began to pick up Evelin and Kyle began to dance, Evelin feared tripping over Kyle's feet but Kyle was making sure it was as easy for her as possible. "I'm glad you came tonight." Evelin looked away. "Mom said it would be good... for us to get involved.." Kyle smiled. "I'm still glad either way." He spun her around. "We won't get much time together like this, but just know that I've missed you." Evelin blinked. "You have?" Kyle nodded. "My work keeps me occupied. I wish I could see you and Theodore more."
Xenia looked to him a little confused before she brought her hand up to her mouth with a small blush. "Dance?" She looked away, slightly embarrassed. "I'm afraid I don't know how to.. everyone down there looks like they know what they're doing." She giggled. "I'm afraid I'll trip over. Dresses don't like me very much."
Hana raised an eyebrow as she watched him eat. "Careful not to eat too fast, else you'll get a stomach ache." She craned over his shoulder with another small whisper. "And you know if you get spotted by any of the guards eating all the food in a commoners clothing you'll get kicked out, right?" She snickered slightly.
Evelyn nodded and leaned over the railing and listened to the music, feeling herself being lost in a daydream. "This is an important time for the humans and Yokai people to put aside their differences... why wouldn't... someone take advantage of that.." She felt her head slip slightly as she quickly jerked herself awake with a surprise. But as soon as she recovered she became even more drowsy and in a dream like state..

*Ruji noticed and yanked her back, shaking her a bit then covering her ears. He glared. Could it be? The music of all things? He looked to evelyn, seeing if by covering her eyes it helped... he didn't really seem to bothered... at least not yet. He was quick to get her outside however, even though it was colder, he hoped it would help Evelyn stay focused as he let go and took her shoulders, "the sound of music..." he replied, "could it be the sound of music? This is Kyle we're talking about..." he was really alarmed.
Joch pulsed and dropped a piece of the chicken in his hand, "oh crap... didn't think of that." He held pointed to the mask, "I got one of these... I thought that counts." He shrugged, "well then I guess I ought to enjoy it till they come get me then huh." He smirked, "thanks for the tip toots." He went to head away, looking for an excape root... though he didn't get far really. It was actually knida funny looking.
Theador looked away, "oh... well.. I never tried either... just... kinda thought that's... what I'm suppost to do... I mean what I wanted... you wanted. Might want? Maybe?" He shied, "I hope Evelin is having better luck tonight." He drooped his head.
Veria was humming to the tune, wanting to sing to the music as she sat cross legged ontop of a large pedestal like thing. Cale standing beside her. She giggled, "going to be a lovly night dear, keep an eye on Ameillea though. I don't want her picking up any of those princes out there just yet~ She's just a little girl after all." It was like she knew something was coming, and ready for it no matter what it was, then again, Veria was different then anyone else in this room really... all the modifications, and demon abiltys ontop of that..." on her other side was Charrlet of all people, "are you enjoying the fun dear?" She asked with a teasing smile.

Evelyn seemed out of it until she was hit with the cold air and her eyes widened. "Huh?!" She looked around, not aware of what happened. "Why are you looking at me like that? What happened?" She looked back inside and heard the music faintly in the distance. "I wonder who.. the band is.." Her eyelids became heavy again.
Back in the room, Cale nodded to Veira however upon hearing the music he became slowly entranced, and his own eyelids became heavy. Kiera then slowly felt the same, as would have Amelia, and even Veira, despite all her modifications. In fact, the modifications would only have encouraged the song. The song slowly whispered into each of their ears lulling them into some sort of awake comatose. Hana however was oddly unaffected, as would have been Shortstraw, Evelin, Theodore, Dante, Soflora or Kyle. Charlotte looked to Veira unsurely. "There's something off going on here, I can sense it." She glanced to the balcony where she saw a woman wearing a long black lace dress and wore a demon mask similar to that of Veira's. She held a black fan in front of her face too, as if to hide her appearance more.
Kyle suddenly broke off the dance, looking to the balcony with concern. Evelin frowned. "Is something wrong, Kyle?" She was sad their dance was over, but that wasn't any of Kyle's concern right now. "I'm sorry, I have to go." He took her hand and kissed it, before disappearing into the crowd.
Xenia smiled to him, seeing how embarrassed he was. "Don't look so glum about it." She smiled more and took his hand. "I will dance with you if that's what you want. Just know that I warned you about my dancing." She giggled slightly.
Hana frowned and was in front of him yet again. "There you go again, disappearing as soon as you arrive." She tilted her head slightly. "You say you come to experience things, and that you're carefree, however you never stick around for the best moments, and you care more about what people think about you than you let on. In fact it's pretty obvious to me." She raised an eyebrow. "Ironic, since you're so quick to criticize everyone else." She gave no notice to the music or how it was effecting certain types of people.
As Kyle rushed up the stairs towards the balcony he grabbed the dark woman by the arm and dragged her out onto the outside of the balcony. From this point Evelyn and Ruji were just out of sight to them, and just within earshot of what they were saying. At this point Evelyn had come into consciousness a little more to be able to concentrate. "What the ******** are you doing here? You will not ruin this for me. This is not your place." The woman gave a small lip-sticked grin. "Oh but this party is so boring Kylie dear. I thought I would spice it up a little is all." Kyle took off his mask and ripped off the woman's, pinning her back against the balcony railings. "I put up barriers to keep vermin like you out." Aeron raised an eyebrow. "And yet... Veira's still here." Kyle looked back inside for a brief moment before he looked back to Aeron calmly. "This is a very dangerous game for you to enter yourself into. You will not get in my way." Evelyn looked to Ruji with a whisper. "Are you hearing this?"

For the first time, Veria was in a state where she never thought she'd be. She prepaired to be ready for anything, at any time, no matter what. But she was now in a state she couldn't even realize it. And the only one there that would protect her, if she wanted, was Charlett.
