September 13th, 2016: Narumi Misuhara Dogoda Misc Since you don't have a lot of devs, why won't you look into hiring temporary interns to do some of the updating work? Surely there are programmers fresh out of college that need experience and we really could use them for bug fixes and updates to various areas of the site. Interns don't get paid a whole lot if at all so it won't be draining your resources. This is a bit of a catch 22. The Gaia codebase is so old, most interns require significant 'hand holding' to work on the site, which then pulls the existing experienced engineers from their projects. So while this would be a fantastic solution, the age of the site actually works against us and it often takes an experienced engineer to grasp the site in a reasonable amount of time. crying

October 4th, 2016: [NPC] Gaia Staff Welcome Back! Quote: FeaturesAny chance we can have an increase to the block cap or do away with it? There are some people who make a lot of accounts after getting banned just to do the same stunts as before. Not only that, it could help charities/quest threads who need to have these names blocked for a reason. We probably won't be increasing the limit on this as it currently stands at around 500 people. We encourage users to review their block list occasionally and remove users they know are banned, or users that haven't logged in in a while as odds are the person won't be returning.

I try to place a comment, it gives me an error and then it ends up being a brand new journal entry in my own journal. Any chances for fixing? sweatdrop o.O We'll need to take a look at this.

How often in the Gaia Corp website updated? The contact page has been down for about a month. That's actually a really old site that is outdated and we don't have any plans on updating it, we actually thought we had taken it down.

December 20th, 2016: lanzer Dogoda Misc @ Lanzer I read that you said that Gaia was strapped for cash, how bad is it like is this the worst it's been or what? I remember we had low fund issues back in the day, just curious. Well, in the past there were times when we were spending more than we were making. Right now things are pretty even so we just need to hang tight, make new features, new events, and other cool stuff so we can deserve to receive more support from all you Gaians.

December 20th, 2016: lanzer Cherrieee Hi Staff Im excited to see what change is coming to the site. Are you looking for more people to help code? Would you guys be into hiring students who are in school for gaming and such as interns? Or do you do that already? Im trying to think of a way for you guys to get more people into the coding aspect of things. I know there are a lot of bugs and that's probably what you're trying to fix. If the site is willing to hire those who do not live in the area of HQ you should post something. Im sure theres people of use to you who currently play on the site that might be willing to help create games and other sought after features users are looking for, for cheaper. (on a side note, PLEASE give us holiday themes for the Runway. Its hard to make deep sea and vampires as Christmas-y as they can be sweatdrop ) We are definitely interested in hiring more programmers to help with the coding. For the time being, we just need to make sure that we have the budget to do so. It'll take a few months for us to find out that, as we step away from the old ways from previous management, we would still have enough funds to afford more staff in the office. 3nodding

January 3rd, 2017: lanzer Sagebomb First of all thats for addressing the issue of being allowed to mention staff names, nicknames and other non personally identifying info. heart [ Context: during Gaia's Corporate phase, the CEO grew tired enough of user complaints directed at his unsavory business practices that he changed the Terms of Service to make it a violation to so much as name any Staff member in a post. Lanzer, posting in the Site Feedback forum, recently declared that he was removing that clause. -Platonix] You mentioned recently about levels of control you had to hand over as investors selected CEOs, who had thier own styles and ideas. (Which had definitely been noticeable over the past decade). In mentioning this, does that mean that you have been able to settle investments and now have full control again like prior to 2005? Or is there still certain levels of investor interest/control to meet? If this is a sensitive question you cant address thats cool, and I understand. I find myself refreshing the GCD waiting for ATA again, its awesome knowing that communication has become a lot more open and community focused again heart To simply things, today Gaia does have investors who helped us take the company back. However, those investors are very different than the ones we dealt with. They rather Gaia achieve success through me (with the help of CP, L0cke, and staff members) running the show instead of forcing a CEO hired from somewhere else. They do ask for one thing - and that is for us to grow the company. Like anybody who would invest in anything. Of course, now that I'm in control doesn't mean everything is wonderful. I still need to proof to all Gaians that in fact we can deliver on our promises to bring fun and creativity back to Gaia! Only time will tell! eek

January 10th, 2017: lanzer Fibonacci To Infinity FeaturesCan we get a run down of how you guys plan on prioritizing what needs to be fixed first? That's coming soon. I've been collecting user feedback, just need to order and prioritize. lanzer Niccolo Ammaniti GeneralHi Lanzer, I was wondering after getting some fiscal worth back, what are some of the major changes you want to implement? Also, here is the list I made wih some of the stuff I think should be updated. I'd love if the staff could take a looksie and give some feedback! Let's see: - Fun events that doubles as features moving forward - Good mobile app - More storyline+characters - New games or revamp of current flash features The bigger projects will only happen months later when we can afford to hire game focused engineers, but there will be plenty of small fixes and updates in between.

January 17th, 2017: lanzer Lady Saxophone Staff CountI'm curious: How many staff do we currently have employed? (ex: 5 developers, 20 artists, etc. -- I'm more interested the number of devs since we've lost quite a few in recent years, but it seems like lanzer had brought back some?) We have about 25 people in Gaia HQ. We're working on having CodeMonkey back in our team, and for now he'll be working with us on contracting basis with Gaia mobile app as priority. Once revenue stabilize, we'll start adding more developers. But as this is our first month back, we've yet to see where we stand as far as revenue versus cost, and the longer term effect of how things will look down the road. We'll be able to make hiring decisions after that. Stay tuned! whee

February 7th, 2017: Lanzer houjun-san Misc Can you guys have interns from other countries who can work remotely? Sorry for now we're only hiring local candidates because training is so much faster when communicating face to face. We need to ensure that we can provide a good environment to any intern candidates and I think we can do a much better job if they're present.

March 21st, 2017: Lanzer Wow even I wasn't checking. Zero Omega Myuuli Zero Omega Myuuli Games Will you guys ever consider mods for flash spaces? There's a whole lot of abuse going on in them. ninja I'd love to assemble a task force of mods that deal exclusively with flash spaces, the problem I have right now is that we have very few mods on the team, and an even smaller number of users interested in being a mod. :c I implore you to accept applications again. I think you'd find there are more users interested than you think. I know I'm definitely interested! Those parts of the site get neglected, and I can't be the only one who wants to see change. 3nodding We're actually constantly accepting applications, it's just that the number of people applying is very low. We're looking at accepting a few people shortly. Zero Omega dissonances Interested users don't always meet the guidelines to be a mod though. :c Like, it's legitimately something that people are interested in, but can't really shoot for, since there's certain requirements. Not talking about the age one, but more the reporting content one. One could make the argument that if you're not reporting content (100 reports in six months is 1.8 reports a day), are you interested in helping moderate for the right reasons and help the community? Zero Omega Thanks! We'll look into updating those.

March 28th, 2017: Zero Omega Zphal FeaturesDo y'all have any plans to give this page an update? Seems to me that the info, especially about Monthly Collectibles, could use some tweaking in light of the recent decision to remove the once-a-month $2.50 items. See the following: What are Collectible Items? Members have the option of buying Collectible Items from Gaia to decorate their online character. Collectible items are virtual clothes or accessories that quickly increase in value within the Gaian economy. New collectible items are released every month, and cost $2.50 each. Under our Terms of Service, members cannot sell their collectible items to other members for real money; they can only be resold for Gaia gold. Purchases of collectible items are accepted by postal mail, secure online billing, telephone and PayPal. Members are under no obligation to purchase Collectible Items. Yup, we'll have to go ahead and update that. Zero Omega Amai_Neiko Zero Omega Amai_Neiko FeaturesQuestion: Have you guys heard of the site ko-fi? Are those links/buttons allowed on site and if so what are the restrictions? I imagine they'd be similar to the rules of irl commissions but just wanted to make sure the exact rules, thank you~ At a very quick glance (I have never heard of ko-fi before you), I would say it would be similar to the IRL commission rule. But I'd have to look into it further to come up with a much more suitable determination for this rule. I see, I imagine it can't be solicited, for now is it safe to say it's allowed in a siggy or profile but not in forums (like that's more direct soliciting) or will this appear in a staff notice after you've been able to look into it more? Also kinda embarrassing but is there a thread post etc explaining the rules we have about irl coms? redface Just wanted to brush up on it. **edit** and thank you for addressing this! Couldn't say for the time being, I would be hesitant to say go ahead and put it in your sig/profile, only to possibly ask people to remove it later.
