As they slipped onto the elevator, Sasha watched the other woman with an almost predatory look in her eye. It took her a moment to realize what she was doing, and the woman forced herself to relax, to melt against Evan as if they truly were the honeymooners they were supposed to be.

In truth she longed to wrap her fingers around the blonde's pretty neck and squeeze - to shock and perhaps to awe, if only because the woman had knowledge of something that the Doctor wanted.

"We've got reservations," Sasha purred as she walked her fingers up Evan's chest before she took his chin between forefinger and thumb, gently shaking her hand while she peered up at him, her nose wrinkled and a rather large grin on her lips. "Don't we, darling?."

She hoped they did.

The blonde offered a politely indifferent smile before redirecting her attention to her phone. After a moment she placed it within her clutch with a frown and aggressively snapped the purse shut, but not before a soft, strange glow was revealed within it. The elevator slid open to the 24th floor and she stalked forward and apparently did have reservations, as she was soon led to a table near the windows.

"Sure do, sweetheart," Evan replied, letting Sasha have her way with him. Sure didn't was more accurate. This little excursion hadn't been planned, after all, but it was the middle of the week--hopefully they wouldn't need one.

Evan carefully grasped Sasha's hand and raised it high enough to kiss her palm before lacing their fingers together. He used his gentle hold on her to tug her closer, wrapping his other arm around her waist. Public displays of affection could only benefit their cover--not that he could keep his hands off of her anyway.

His attention was all for Sasha until he noticed the glow coming from the woman's purse, remarkable only because it had been unexpected. He hadn't gotten a good look at it before the purse was shut over it, certainly not enough to see what the source of it was, but that it was there at all was decidedly suspicious.

Evan watched as the woman marched out of the elevator, thoughtfully leading Sasha into the restaurant. They were in luck: it was a slow night, and they were seated promptly--even better--within view of the blonde woman. As the waiter left them with their menus, Evan leaned forward and said, for Sasha's ears only, "You look amazing," and then, "did you see that in there? Do you think she's got what we're after?"

Sasha enjoyed Evan's attention, and quite frankly the public display of affection (as minor as it was) only added to the thrill of it. He was big, he was handsome and he was hers (she was possessive, even beyond the charade, and the thought was a little startling).

Seated across him, Sasha gave the sun a private little smile. Oh, she'd seen the glow in the woman's purse, and it had been difficult not to rip the woman's throat out so that she could retrieve the artifact -- and the rest of the week would be spent in idyllic bliss with Evan.

"I think she must," Sasha purred softly, fingers dancing around the rim of her empty wineglass. She shot the woman a glance from behind thick lashes as she ran the tip of her toe up the inside of Evan's leg. "I wonder if she's meeting someone?"

Several drinks were delivered to the blonde's table and soon company did arrive in the form of Sasha Belrose. Hair cascading down her back, scar removed, and moving like a queen in a white cocktail dress, the small young woman was imperiously focused on the blonde and did not yet notice either Evan or Sasha.

"The buyer, if we're lucky," Evan replied. "Maybe their handler, if there's someone else running this. Far as we know the other two are still in their room." His attention had been divided between Sasha and their target, but it became entirely Sasha's at the feel of her foot trailing up his leg.

He shifted in his seat but did nothing to stop her, instead smirking at her, warm and knowing. It wilted slowly as he caught sight of something over Sasha's shoulder--or more accurately, someone. They looked like Sasha, but somehow more--it had been a year between Scotland and the time he'd seen Sasha again, and he had noticed some minor changes in her then but had attributed it to time and the fading of memories. This woman, though, she looked almost exactly like the Sasha he had offered to help and then had to leave behind. The differences between Sasha and the woman who had just walked in were subtle, but still present.

"You wouldn't happen to have a twin sister or something, would you?" Evan asked, frowning in confusion.

Sasha's brows drew together slightly as Evan's attention shifted from her to someone else. For an instant there was an atypical sort of petulance that crept across her delicate features - how dare he - but as she turned ever so slightly to glance over her shoulder (prompted by his confused frown), Sasha froze.

Her first instinct was to rise to her feet with regal precision and slowly glide across the floor to stand next to the raven-haired woman. She would smile down at the mirror image of herself and very calmly -- satisfyingly -- gouge out her eyes before ripping the other woman's throat out with her very own teeth. Sasha allowed herself to fantasize quite briefly about painting her skin with the other woman's hot metallic blood.

Sasha very calmly turned back to face Evan. The bottom of her foot went to the front of his pants and she pressed - not too hard, of course, but just enough to pull his attention away from the girl in the while dress. The last thing they needed was for her to catch him watching her looking as baffled as he did. When his attention snapped back to her, Sasha's foot fell away.

"Stop. Staring."

The waiter came with a bottle of wine, and Sasha waited for him to pour before leaning across the table. Her expression had changed from 'homicide' to 'mmm yes but still vaguely homicide'.

"If nothing exchanges hands here and now, darling, and your blatant staring doesn't give us away, I think we may have found our in."

And snap back to Sasha it did, with a quiet grunt of surprise and wide, startled eyes. "Sorry," Evan said immediately, not quite sure what he had done wrong but unwilling to ask based on the look on Sasha's face.

It was a welcome relief to see her soften some as the wine made an appearance. "Weird place for a buy," he remarked. "Public, with security cameras. What do you mean in? Do you have something in mind?"

Sasha held up a spoon, turning it so that she could use it as a mirror of sorts. It was easy to watch the woman behind her while using the utensil. She lowered the spoon and turned her attention back to Evan.

"I am remarkably certain that I could pass as her," Sasha took a sip of her wine and watched Evan over the rim of her glass.

"Probably," Evan agreed after a moment of thought. "As far as appearances go, definitely." It was uncanny, how alike Sasha and the unknown woman looked. She hadn't said that she didn't have a twin, but she didn't look like she was in any kind of mood to talk about it, either. "And then what? We don't know when the buy is, or if she's even the buyer."

Sasha gave him a very gentle, very patient look. He was a Sun, made for pure damage output and utilizing both his body and his weapon to get his point across.

"We've got our phones," her foot went back to sliding up and down the inside of his calf. "And if that one isn't the buyer, I'm willing to bet she knows who is."

"You want to go over there and ask?" Evan asked, moving his foot to hook around Sasha's. He would have, and happily if it meant getting closer to achieving their objective. He could be stealthy if he had to, could come up with combat tactics on the fly under enemy fire, but this kind of subtlety and subterfuge was well beyond him. He was sorry, for a moment, that Sasha had been stuck with him on this--but only for a moment, as the thought of her safety in someone else's hands immediately set him on edge.

He sighed as the waiter brought their appetizers. "Are you sure we can't just kick their door down and take what we need from them?"

Had anyone but Evan asked her such an outrageous question, Sasha would have laughed outright. Loudly. However, she knew him well enough to know that he was absolutely serious in asking, and it really was one of the things that she enjoyed most about him. He was not a stupid man, not in the least, but there were times that he reminded her of a big, silly, eager-to-please dog.

As it was, Sasha merely chuckled softly at his sigh and took a bite of some sort of stuffed mushroom that was on the platter before her.

"We can't just go over there and ask, Evan. That completely defeats the purpose of masquerading as the one who has my face. And at this point in time I believe that kicking down their door would be a terrible, terrible idea, as I'm certain that we are not dealing with ordinary thieves at this point."

She leaned back in her chair and gave him a slow smile.

"We should come up with some sort of... I don't know, phrase that only you and I would know - on the off-chance that we are separated, just so that you know that I am me."

No, of course they couldn't just be after garden variety jewel thieves--this had to involve artifacts and clones and God only knew what else. It was as exciting as the lack of straightforwardness was annoying. "Maybe later?" Evan asked hopefully. "Once we have more intel, or get one of them alone on their way out for some interrogation or something." Wrap this up nice and neat and quick before it got any more complicated.

He had to keep fighting the urge to look over at Sasha's twin's table. Staring would have been conspicuous, and he didn't want to ruin whatever Sasha had planned just to sate his curiosity. "Hmm, something about chocolate sauce? Or frogs. Chocolate frogs," Evan teased gently, happy to play along even if it did all seem a bit silly and theatrical.

At the blonde's table Vivienne stabbed at her appetizer with a dissatisfied look while the blonde smile beatifically and began speaking, voice too low for the hunters to hear at their own table.

what will they do now

> Find a away to get closer without being noticed? (roll 1d20, 14+ means success, lower and they get caught)
> Follow one into the bathroom for a confrontation?
> Wait until the women are done with their dinner and follow them after?
> Other.
