I agree with Sage, the system itself should be changed so we can still do training. It's something optional, we don't have to force it to new students, Hiru. It's not that bad.. Think on it for a few days to reconsider? :/

As I mentionned, this is not something I want to impose or can impose by any means. The beta system is something I actually thought up based on my obervations over the years and I had noticed a lot of discontent about training which does appear to be somewhat founded based on the vote.
However that vote is awfully close, when you border on the 50-50 it's always better to see if there could be an alternative that would please more people... You guys have any ideas for mid-way solutions? One I had was maybe to have training but to have it not be able to bust level cap? This way trained characters would be more balanced instead of out of proportion? Or simply more skill points per level?
Of course for your current particular situation, Sage, given that this is a transfer there will be exceptions for preexisting characters so your efforts don't go to waste, it's the idea right now so nobody gets sleighted. What we want right now is to get as many people in here and interested to participate. Everyone would be okay with getting your character over as it is (or a bizzaro version with their stats and skills or its number of points).
You really have two solutions right now that I'm sure everyone would be ok with 1.You just transfer your character as is (when you get to the point you can buy upgrades it will be possible to have skill like hers/his at that level) or 2. You upgrade her/him to the level that would allow her/him to have all of the points he/she has right now in the new system. Certainly no problem on my end with either of these solutions until we get a better idea with what happens to training!

Okay you guys, we've got something to start with! That shinobi scroll is waiting to be filled! Only If you guys agree with this of course, I see three ways of doing your characters: 1. Make new ones. 2. Bring your favorite character over and think of a story how they did. (Exceptionally go over the limit for stat/skills) 3. Make a bizzaro Konoha versions of your favorite characters with the same stat/skill points and number of jutsus of a certain rank. If you have any other special request, don't hesitate to ask! In the meantime we want to see how the system fares in the first open Beta biggrin

My ideas are as follows: First and foremost, add that 20 extra distributed stat points at level 1 back in. Thus making the new character formula Base 6 and 20 + (Level minus 1) x 3 stat points. Second, I think that leveling up should net more points than making a fresh character. Therefore Leveling up through play get you 4 stat points and 12 skill points, but making a fresh character only gets you the 3 and 10. This will make it worthwhile to stick with a character and make up for the lack of training. Third, Maybe bring back the lotteries. They were fun. Limit it to like 4 per year tops. Fourth, if we are keeping jutsu training as is, why not give rewards for that? Cuz you know, Jutsu training is just multiple skill/stat trainings stacked up on top of each other. Fifth, honestly we could just leave it there as an option for people. Enforce level caps for ranks that can be learned and not push it on people as hard as we have in the past. The other stuff will always be more fun, but training would be more rewarding. I mean honestly I plan to make a a character focused on int, wis, and cha (and may have a few fun scenes already planned <.< >.>) And I wouldn't mind the whole missing nin thing for Hiru so much if he was wielding a Samehadamaku instead of the real deal.

I think new character...
And uh... if we removing training for techniques... uh... I guess Uchiha techniques are done for Hiru's Beta... unless I need to redo the stat/skill requirements...

It would be nice to have everyone who wanted to bring their character from Kiri to Konoha, do a mission together, to try out the new system and get a real tangible story on how we got there.

You know, with the storyline being years after the canon, I wouldn't be surprised if there were situations like Konoha and Kiri merging (from war, necessity, diplomacy, I don't know.) together. Think wide, loosen up a little. If you want to create a new character, that's fine. If you want to bring it, that's fine too.
