Zukiel had opened his mouth to say something, then closed it after the dwarf spoke to the men. He sighed a little, but waited to hear a response.

The men behind the leader shuffled nervously at what the dwarf said, but the leader remained steadfast. He crossed his arms in front of him, "I cannot allow you to damage my meal ticket. The people fear that dragon, and I sell them weapons and enchantments. They look up to me for protection. I cannot allow you to put an end to that."

Colson shifts his axe into a more ready position. "I, for one, intend to keep going. you want to throw your lives away for a few coins, go ahead. you'd probably be better off running, though" he then looks to his companion monk. "Zinder, in response to your earlier question, not without provoking. in the meantime, it would appear these folks are exploiting the sad dragon."
(i'll talke this moment to save an attack, if you'll allow. otherwise, i'll just roll for initiative next time.)

Zinder perked up at the answer Colson gave. "They want to hurt it?" She took a fighting stance, her hands peaking out of the long sleeves and took a fighting stance. "We can take 'em." She growled softly, but not wanting to strike yet.

Zukiel stepped between them and held his hands out. "Stop! I don't want unnecessary bloodshed!" he said. He turned to the men and said calmly, "Look, we just want to look. We never said we would do anything to the dragon or to hurt your...'meal ticket'. Please, we just want to look."

The men readied their spears when the dwarf seemed to be preparing for an attack. The leader, drew a rapier from his belt, "Listen, kid. You're a poor liar. I know your type. You'd go to the dragon anyway, even if i asked you to stop. You think I'm corrupt!" He pointed toward the party. "Attack!"
(Roll initiatives. Zinder and Colson get an extra attack action on their first turn or whatever [you know, the usual])
[4 men (spears) and 1 leader (rapier)]

"Oh ho, it's a fight, then, hmm?" Livian asked with a grin. Suddenly, dark red fur started to sprout from her legs, and her toes became claws. A dark red tail also sprouted from her behind, and she started to look a little like a wolf. She pulled out her quarterstaff, laughing maniacally. "AHAHAH! Come at me then, you fools!"

Colson's attack makes contact with the leader as the man stood defensively.

Okay, so Colson needs to make his first attack. Livian gets to go first (after the first strike from Colson).

Livian smirked and pulled her quarterstaff around to whack the nearest man near her, then moved to strike him with the other end of her staff. "And the heroine strikes the man heroically, leaving him bruised!" she said, smirking.
