Shizuka transferred the eggs from one hand to the other, holding as many as he could, then nestling them against his pasty chest as Kei swung up to get one after the other.
"I-if you don't mind me asking, why is not meeting a... a Haka good?" He wondered aloud quietly. As he gathered the final egg to his chest with all the others, he began slowly stepping away from the trunk of the tree so that Kei could fly or jump down and not hit him... (how many eggs are there? Just for the record?~)

"Nah, I don't mind you asking. I'll tell you." He replied, grabbing onto the branch then dropping from the tree. With his wings unfurled, it was more of a parachuting effect, of which he folded once his feet hit the ground. "Haka aren't necessarily bad to meet -beautiful, actually- but they can snap at you for no reason. Or so I've heard. That's why I asked if you had a Haka looking for you. Some can get abusive, I hear. You just have to be careful." He wasn't really sure, though, or sure of why he'd said it.
The tanned Gehaka strode over to Shizuka, plucking one of the eggs from his arms and shaking it slightly. "Good, good." He murmured to himself, holding it up to his ear and doing so again. "So what were you doing up here? Just eating?"

Shizuka moved out of the way so that Kei could jump down with little or no difficulty and listened as he explained just what a Haka could do to a Gehaka. Not having been around too many others - Haka and Gehaka alike - he was curious to know what could happen if he was taken on as a husband. "I- I don't like being snapped at... or hurt... especially hurt..." (Again, that'll come into the story later.)
As Kei took one of the eggs, Shizuka walked after him. "Just eating..." he said. He felt his bare foot hit something squishy and slide out from under him. Realizing that he was slipping on the spilt noodle, Shi quickly threw his other arms over the eggs and landed hard on his back. He grimaced as he felt his wings bent uncomfortably under him. He didn't think any of the eggs had cracked... maybe one... but he hoped he had saved them all... He didn't want to make Kei angry just as soon as he'd met him. He seemed like a wealth of knowledge and not one to lose. (Must get off in 15 minutes, please try to reply before I leave. If not, will be back tomorrow.)

"Oh!" Kei reached out, truly more concerned for his fellow Gehaku than the eggs. It was what was inside them he wanted anyways, so if one or two cracked. "Idiot. Are you okay?" He sighed, crouching down over. The eggs were quickly pocketed into his vest, freeing the other's arms up. Kei then grabbed one of Shizuka's hands, standing. "C'mon, stand up if you can. You didn't break anything, did you?"

(*last post tonite*) Shizuka breathed hard as Kei neared him, afraid and in pain at the same time. He winced as Kei called him an idiot and nodded when asked if he was okay. Shi did his best to hand over all but one of the eggs, which was cracked all over his chest. Taking Kei's hand, Shizuka was hauled to his feet and suddenly became frantic, running his hands as best he could over his back and wings. He was in a fair state of panic (for seemingly no reason) until he pulled his hand forward covered in crimson blood.
His eyes grew wide in terror and his breath caught in his throat. "Oh no! No! This isn't good..." he began. His eyes darted from Kei to his hand then to the path leading back into the town and to the waterside, where his boat-building shop lay. "I'm sorry," he said shortly, then began to sprint at top speed across the town, blood flying off of his shoulder freely. (That's the hint right there.)

He was helping the other up when.. all the sudden, he decided to just spazz. At just a tint of blood! Honestly... But the wound had kept bleeding, even when the other had began to run. "Hey! I didn't mean it! Come back!" He hurried after the other without thinking, wondering just what the hell this guy's problem was. You didn't just run away in the middle of conversation.

Tohru:He made a slight face at the other mentioning silk worms. Tohru didn't like insects. He looked over the basket before giving a slight incline of his head in a dismissal, turning to see if his own Gehaka escort was done bumbling around in the shop to get his mothers orders for their scribe work. Meandering back boredly, turning the parasol slowly over his shoulder, and generally feeling bored and a bit irritated, he just watched the pair of Gehaka instead of doing anything else. He wasn't all that grand at ordering them around anyhow, he'd probably just look silly. He was a bit self concious like that.

Hachiro knew he had been dismissed, giving his another bow before straightening up to his impressive height. The quiet Gehaka wasn't sure what to think; that Haka hadn't seemed nearly as intimidating as some of the others he had seen around town. But perhaps that was because he was not worth this one's time; it would make sense, after all. The Gehaka he had seen being screamed at often belonged to that Haka, so of course their actions would reflect upon their husband.
Releasing the held breath from his lungs, Hachiro turned to the other Gehaka who had offered to help him. "My name is Kohaku Hachiro, and may I ask who you are...?" He certainly seemed more comfortable with other Gehaka, but then again, could one really blame him?

Enju swallowed hard, sensing the movement from the Haka and recognizing it as dismissal. Oh, that was close. He bowed and very slowly raised his head, seeing the Haka retreat back. He swallowed hard and paused to evaulate his mistake, giving the other a wary smirk, relaying how dead he could have been. It was nothing to smile at of course, but he couldn't help it. That was Enju and there was little doubt that he would ever change his behavior.
He sighed and listened to others name's, still grinning, he offered his hand. "I'm Arehoudai Enju, a pleasure to meet you."

Keiji had been sent to the main street to fetch tea herbs. He had come from practically the other side of town where the cattle market was. The other Gehaka he was working with to deliever the cattle to market had sent him off with a clear warning to not cause mischief and to return here right after he had gotten what he had been sent for. He pouted a little to himself as he shuffled down the street, they didn't want him around because of the last incident. No matter how he tried to explain to them that it was an accident.
He sighed and tucked his wings in close as he walked through the crowd on the street. He had with him money and a note with his mother's hand writing and clear instructions to take both to main street. He took his mind off the injustice of being sent away to traverse the main street where he had never been and began looking around for the place where the tea herbs were sold. And it just occured to him that he had no idea where to go.
He wrinkled his nose up at not being given clear directions. He had been told though, that the money he was given was an exact amount and there shouldn't be any left over when he had purchased everything. He continued on his way down the street, but he wasn't looking for the tea herb shop, but rather some one that could give him directions to said shop.

Hachiro glanced quietly at the other Gehaka, noting his smile with a hint of curiosity. The Haka were nothing to take lightly...but even as the Gehaka studied the other man's expression, he felt his own lips attempting to twitch into one of his ghost-like half smiles. The other seemed to have a likeable personality...one who seemed to make mistakes, but could laugh at them later. Hacihiro liked that.
He reached out with his own calloused hand, shaking Enju's firmly. "Indeed it is." Hachiro liked this other Gehaka, knowing that the encounter had been somewhat unrattling--but even know, he felt himself smiling and shaking his head at it. "Would it trouble you to help me carry this other basket to my mother's shop? It's not far."

Why did he feel like the Haka's interest didn't really lie in the ceramics. Capek straightened slightly, peering rather blankly at the caramel haired man. "I'm an apprentice here, si--Hishiron-sama. My mother runs the shop. My brother and I help him." Apprentice. Another word for 'jack of all trades.' He cleaned, he saw to customers, he cut and molded clay, prepared the kiln and fired whatever needed to be. His mother was an artist, but like most Haka he wasn't exactly built for the manual labor that came with the upkeep of a shop. Ah well, Capek found most of the work at least somewhat interesting.
He winced inwardly. He hadn't said his name, had he? Bad manners Capek, he told himself. Mother taught you better than that. He offered the Haka his best apologetic smile and a slight bow. "Ah, my apologies Hishiron-sama; I seem to be rather forgetful today. My name is Sato Capek."
A strange name. Capek himself didn't know where it had come from. Maybe his mother had heard it somewhere on the docks, from one of the few ships that still imported.

"Sato Capek," he said, tasting the words, a strange name but very orginal. His glaze ran over Capek taking the Gehaka in. He was rather handsom. "An apprentice is not much to go on. What do you actually do? Do you mold the clay?" He questioned, lifting up the cup to examine it closer.
He knew what an apprentice was; he had watched his brother work the forge from a young age. Cleaning, lifting, basicaly the grunt work of the operation fell onto the apprrentice. Things that a Haka couldn't physicaly do, because they where not built for such manual labor.
