"Bandages?" It was tired, now: Ever could feel the frayed edges of his shield as he swung and missed. He didn't mention it, though, didn't complain, and it was hard to tell if that was because it was Taym, or if it was just how Ever was. He wasn't unconscious, and so he'd keep going. Especially with the pleasant lick of his weapon's bite to encourage him onward. "Enough to share?" HP: 10/ 40 [3 def]

Taym was determined to rout the beast, but he didn't look good at all, three of them were tired from the pain and over-concentration. If it dragged even longer, one of them was going to collapse first. Shu frowned at the thought, she was the burden, if she wasn't so weak, the battle won't take so long. Like if it was Peyton or Cami or the blonde Moon huntress, then they won't be so exhausted. Moisture accumulated within her eyes, but before they dropped, she wiped it away. With one or two light sniff, she braced up again and cheered for the tired hunters. They missed only because they were almost exhausted. Taym and Ever were great, good examples of what hunter should be, they just needed some encouragements. It was a cold place, but the excessive activity had made her sweat, and for a moment, the dropped sweat blocked her vision and she couldn't react to the raid at Ever. Can it be even worse? Shu: 12/ 40

He fumbled back to catch a breather and to make use of the aforementioned bandages, only to spit a ********, no" he answered Ever. "Have your ******** pendants ready." Failurefailurefailure. Wouldn't be the first time, of course, but it would be the first time that he'd been the highest ranking one in the group. It was a mistake to strike again, and Ever knew it as soon as he did: a glancing blow and that was it, and his shields felt brittle around him. He curse and shook his head, turning to fix a look on Taym -- and then Shu. "Defend him, I'm useless. Maybe he can hit the ******** thing." Usually, his self-deprecation was light, easy and comfortable. Today, instead, he sounded genuinely embarrassed. HP: 4/ 40 [1 def + 1 heal]

Were they done? Shu didn't want to give up at that moment, they already stripped so many layers of clothes of the monster. However, she wasn't sure what she could do besides defending them, she might have the energy to attack one more, and the hammer in her grasp was buzzing for a charge to release. If she could land her charge on the monster, it would be something powerful but at the same time her shield should be gone, it was a risky move. On the other hand, if she landed one more normal hit, she might be too exhausted to do anything afterwards, not to count in the possibility that it would be blocked or she would miss. The girl was in a state of vexation, indecisive of what was the correct move when Ever told her to defend Taym instead of him. "A-" A pause of one second, "Alright, I will! Please take good care, Mr. Ever, you are not useless, you already made some nice hits!" She gently patted his back because she couldn't reach his shoulder. Holding her big hammer, she trotted towards Taym to block the raging branches hitting his shield. "It's infuriated, please be careful. I will try my best to guard you, Mr. Thompson." She said softly but with a tone of anxiety while her eye rolling around the surrounding, in a pose ready to strike. The environment was unfavourable to their side but obviously an advantage for the monster to blend in. Shu: 12/ 40

Ever didn't wait for Taym's confirmation; instead he fell back, two stumbling steps, to take up position beside Shu. This way, the pair of them could -- perhaps a bit slowly -- swipe at the branches that came from the Hunter from behind. This was, perhaps, how they should have been the whole damned time. Alas. HP: 4/ 40

Again the thought that this was wrong, that he ought to be the one defending these two, that he was the one with brand new crescent moons on the back of his coat. "Nice defense, Mr. Ever." She used her body weight to pin a branch on the ground. They aimed for full protection of the more experience hunter with better attack among the three, the abrasion from holding the hammer was too much that she wanted to just drop it, instead, she bit her lips and increased the grasping force. It became slippery under her sweaty hands, but she couldn't let go, she had her job to do. "That's a neat one, Mr. Thompson!" The compliment from Taym cheered the girl, no one hated good words. Ever more, Shu's emotion was easily influenced by the praises and lovely words. No creepy hands should touch Mr. Thompson, they will strip you and put you in shame, Mr. Monster. They will strip you. "I learn that from anime~" She smiled and replied. Shu: 12/ 40

"You should have been attacking it the whole time." It was exasperated -- not with Taym but with himself, shaking his head as he flicked Shu a brief look. Her optimism and excitement, her determination was a little embarrassing, and it made him shift his stance and lean into the lashing branches. Well. It worked, at least. HP: 4/ 40

Given an opening, he snaked in towards the thing's trunk (or whatever it was), and this time when the knife sank into what felt like wood and flesh and neither, the creature visibly flickered. You and Mr. Ever are doing a very good job, and no strategy is guaranteed to work out before it's physically tested, accidents happen-" Shu wasn't good at explanation or saying convincing words, but she was trying her very best to express that it wasn't their fault at all. "Let's this be our valuable experience and grow stronger together!" "G-Go for it? Me?" Shu stumbled after breaking another creepy hand attempted to smack the hunter. "Are you sure?" She wasn't so confident with it but if he thought she could do it, she would try. The petite Asian dashed forward, taking the post of the Moon hunter and made a big arc with her hammer towards the hole dug by her team mates. It broke into half and growled in pain. "Are we sending it home?" It was close to dissipation, time to say goodbye to Mr. Monster. Shu hope the shame of being stripped is good enough for it not to come back. She moved her hand slightly for a wave while imagining a nearly naked man in embarrassment, with just his boxers. Shu: 4/ 40

For a moment, he was tempted to kill steal: he shifted the blade in his hands and licked his lips. But then he thought, instead, about the lashing branches and the way they licked across his shield and, with a sigh, he kept one from smacking Taym's legs out from under him. HP: 4/ 40

Buoyed both by the obvious turning of the tide and Shu's sickeningly-sweet assessment of the situation, Taym maneuvered in one more time, and he felt the wordless singing of Fiona's satisfaction as the blow struck and then swung through in an easy, uninhibited arc, the monster--whatever it was--dissipating until the motes of it became indistinguishable from raised dust on the night air, and then not even that. He wheeled, looking for the figure he'd kept glimpsing from the corner of his eye, but after a breathless moment it became obvious that that, too, had either gone or was no longer interested in attacking. "Good ********' work," he said, abruptly cheery once again. "I'm going to assume y'all's shields--" y'all, Taym really was feeling better about life "--are as close to breaking as mine is. Ready to head home?"

There Mr. Monster forced to go home. Shu clapped loudly like the audience after watching a good show, just without the "bravo" or "encore" part. "YAY~! ナイス(Nice) final hit, Mr. Thompson! We did it! Not perfect, but we made it, everyone deserves a gold star~ Ah, you can find me later if you really want one." The girl desummoned Z and moved her hands with smile as she talked, the little accomplishment overthrown in her heart, she was so easy to get satisfied. "Same, but still working, just a bit exhausted. Home! I like that word, I'm so ready to go back, take a good shower and have a cake~" She wanted to wash the stickiness off already and she can already feel the sweetness in her mouth. That's where her energy comes from.

Ever swiped at his face as he looked up at Taym, and then to Shu: his expression just faintly perplexed, head tipped to one side. He felt a bit bruised, a bit battered, but all things considered that had gone better than most of his spars, so-- so. It hadn't been that bad. And they'd kept whatever-that-was from ravaging more cities. He hoped. He made a thoughtful little sound as he blinked down at Shu, hair stuck to his forehead, rumpled and looking younger than he was for it. After a moment, he flashed her a smile and offered her a hand: unsure if they were going back via ATV or what, but if they were, she could ride with him, this time. "What the hell is an anime and how did it teach you anything applicable to this situation?"
