Elliot seemed unaffected by the close proximity, barely batting an eye as Preacher's nose brushed his. "I like how you say that and proceed to get even closer," He noted dryly, staring down at him with faint amusement in his heavy-lidded eyes. He did lean back a respectable distance after a moment though, especially since he had begun coughing. His first instinct was the pat the boy on the back, but that was a little difficult considering the way he was sprawled out. It seemed to have settled itself down (for now) anyways, and Preacher seemed to turn his attention to eating something or the other he must have stashed away.

...And came very close to pieing him in the face, but fortunately that didn't happen. Completely unaware of Henrik's stare, Elliot raised a brow. "I'm not sure why you're waving that around, but yeah, I guess you could be worse off right now. Some warm tea would do wonders for your throat too I'm sure, but no one can leave to fetch you some what with the bald guard dogs hanging around."

And they probably weren't planning on leaving anytime soon either. Seeing as he seemed to be okay, Elliot straightened up and gave Preacher a pat on the shoulder before moving back to find himself a seat, selecting a free spot by Cyril. He was a face that he remembered from the parade--they had briefly exchanged names too--but he didn't really know anything about him beyond that.

...Though it seemed like he was thinking deeply about something. Watching him for a moment, the boy gave a shake of his head. "I wouldn't try escaping again," He piped up quietly, taking a guess at what the boy was considering, "You or Shun--" A pointed look at said man, "--until you have a way of avoiding those twins, anyways.

And speaking of Shun, what the hell was that about eating Preacher? It was finally then that Elliot realized there was a large man staring intently in the younger boy's direction. Staring...with a very creepy expression--one that would be described as hungry, even.

...No. Wordlessly, Elliot stood back up and moved back to where he had been standing previously.

Henrik gave the young man that warned against eating a preacher a look that might have been disbelief, but it was difficult to tell because it only lasted half a second. It might almost seem as though the big guy was terrified that that half-a-pie might disappear if he looked away for too long, and that was a risk that Henrik was simply not willing to chance. No thanks. Half a pie was better than no pie at all.

"I don't want to eat a preacher," Henrik intoned quietly, those blue-blue eyes of his honing in once more on the little person next to him.

He hoped it was a sweet berry pie. Sweet berry pie was his favorite. Second to none. Blueberry, raspberry, wild strawberry - didn't matter. Berry pie was the most superior of pies, and whoever had made the pie -- wait... pies?!

The little person had... more than one pie?!

His hopeful look turned to a heavy-browed scowl as Henrik glanced around. Had he missed the pie table when he'd first come in? A quick scan of the area revealed no table sagging with pies, and so Henrik turned his attention back to the little person that sat next to him.

"Excuse me little person," Henrik eyed the pie that was being wibble-waggled before his eyes like it was some sort of golden prize. He offered the pie a smile that showed far too many teeth to be genuinely friendly (it was the smile of a man trying too hard to get what he wanted), though the expression on his face was completely pleasant. "Are you going to eat that?"

He was half tempted to snatch it from the air, but Henrik had manners, and would never act on such a thought.

Probably.

"Man this sucks." He said to himself as he was sitting on his own. He noticed the pink haired boy sitting next to him. He thinks he got his name last time but his memory was a bit clouded. He remembers he had something else to do and hadto cut their meeting short that day. The pink hair really stood out to him. Thats probably the only reason he remembered him.

He heard the boy tell him about how escaping would be a bad idea. Coincidently thats exactly what Cyril was thinking about. "Damn is this guy physic?" he thought to himself. He decided to stay put for now. "Heh getting dropped on my head again is at the bottom of my to do list." he said to the boy. "Elliot, right?" He was just taking a bland guess at his name.

Elliot was a nice boy, Preacher decided. It seemed as though she was getting much luckier at the bonfire than the banquet or parade, despite her lingering cold. And bruises. Vaguely, she wondered what exactly would make him react, but fortunately, she was too ill-feeling to press his comfort zone. "Wond'rin' how close you'da let someone get, heh." Almost immediately, Preacher was distracted by that intent stare.

"I'm Preacher. Shun's right. 'M I kin tell ya I don't taste good even if ya had wanted a bite.No lickin' either." She smiled cheekily, still keeping that tantalizing pie slightly aloft. The man had more teeth than most wolves.... At he hulking man's next question, her own grim widened.

"Oh, this'um?" she said nonchalantly (only coughing once). "Mmmm, I guess'm not. Catch!" With that, she tossed the pie up and hoped that the man had quick reflexes.

Lloren finally slipped away from the mini-banquet for the Parade volunteers after stuffing her face like she'd never eaten before. Twenty minutes ago she had felt her stomach so full that she may as well just roll down the street. Right now, she felt she could go for another round- but she'd had enough of sticking around that inn! Time to go exploring.

The sky had darkened, the crowd was distracted... a rare opportunity like this was irresistible. Lloren had been an adventuring child; climbing trees, scaling walls (not THE walls, but walls nonetheless), getting lost on purpose and trespassing on farms and properties in her numerous escapades. Friends she had sometimes brought together with her had often cried when they were 'lost' (a poor choice of word, the bespectacled child would think; just because one does not know the way back, it doesn't mean they wouldn't find it!). They had even gotten into trouble for the unexplained absences and torn clothes that resulted of following her. But Lloren herself never suffered any reprimand; her parents allowed her to roam free (though she would oft forget to tell them where she went), and would dismiss any scratches, bruises and torn clothing as the result of normal child's play. These habits survived into adulthood without a trace of uneasiness.

She strode down the street, unnoticed, scanning the sides of buildings with her eyes until she found what she was seeking; crates, piled atop one another, and a tree. Without even bothering to glance around her she leapt onto a crate and stood on her toes, barely managing to catch a branch. Putting her weight on it in increments, she tested the branch. It would hold. With that verified she let go of her foothold and used it to swing up onto the house roof. Success! Aw yea. I deserve a victory dance. She got up from her crouch, put a hand on the rim of her hat and did a discreet jig on the tiles to mark the moment.

From here, she could admire the town. Shinganshina. It was her first time in this district, and it was by far one of the liveliest she'd seen. The way everyone lived close together was a little cramped, but she liked the closeness it seemed to grant the villagers in the way they shared their lives. She stood there, enjoying a cool breeze, taking it all in... There is something uncomfortable about not seeing a horizon, she thought. These bait districts are so small... as if they are trapped by the walls, not just protected.

A big bright area of town caught her eye, taking her mind off the matter. Bonfire! Something cool is definitely happening there. The trainee's near slid off the roof in her excitement to go check it out, but she bounced in place a little, regained her equilibrium and clambered down. With a final hop off the crate she went on her way to join the festivities.

Once at the bonfire, Lloren's eyebrows rose high on her face. She recognized a fair number of volunteers in the vicinity. Like moths to the flame, she surmised. She also saw Preacher, to whom she had wanted to speak about the stolen pies. The memory of a certain wink was quick to pop into her mind, causing a sudden wave of discouragement to wash over that idea. Welp. She shrugged and turned toward the flame, tapping her chin and wondering if anyone had thought to bring sausages.

Anyone! n-n

Alec shook his head when Preacher tried to be annoying and push at him with a foot. His hand poked at the foot, wishing it too retreat but at least the other hadn't lingered for long. "Yea, I'll try. No promises..." He scrunched his face up a bit.

While he watched the big guy take the pie from the sick boy, his eyes switched from two other familiar faces. Lillian, the blonde haired two color-eyed girl he had befriended many years ago and the trainee girl Lloren.

"Hey, Lillian, good to see you made it." He waved at her, his first real smile of the night lighting up his worrisome mood. He was glad to see her, she was one of his best friends, and trusted confidants. While she couldn't sit by him, the way this was designed they could all sit around and talk regardless. After the bonfire..or perhaps during a less serious moment he had a question for the woman about how best to go about signing up. Thinking of his and Tala's agreement. "Hey, good to see you again as well!" He flashed Lloren a small sheepish grin. Last they spoke he'd been about to egg Preacher on at the Inn. He rather liked the energetic woman, she seemed to have a good head on her shoulder.

Lloren liked being social and talking to people! Really, she did! But due to a random inspired moment, she was busy sticking picked up wooden twigs into the bonfire at the time Alec spoke to her. It took a few seconds before she realized Alec's familiar voice had addressed her general direction.

She turned around, the twigs in her grasp coming into view as most of them sizzled out. One of them stayed aflame at the tip, however. "Heyy! Good evening, Curr- I mean Alec, Preacher, everyone!" She smiled and held out the burning twig amusedly, spinning it for special effect. The flame left bright trails in the dark. "Anyone want a baby bonfir- NOOOO. THE BABY BONFIRE." Spinning the stick had been too much; the fire was put out. She eyed the tip miserably before simply tossing everything in her hands over her shoulder into the fire, everything just now forgotten. "What are you all up to?" She asked, sauntering over to a log to sit.

...Oh. Oh, the man had been staring at the pie. Gods, Elliot suddenly felt like an idiot for having gotten so wary around the stranger (though really, that grin was not helping). Lifting a hand, he combed his fingers through his messy hair with a sigh, and then dropped the same hand down to pat Preacher on the forehead. "Now that I've been assured no one is intent on cannibalizing the sicky..."

He moved back to sit by Cyril, letting out a little noise of acknowledgement upon hearing his name. "Yeah, Elliot. You're Cyril, right?" Their introduction had been brief, but Elliot did like to think that he had a decent memory for names and faces. Leaning back a little on the log, he let out a sigh.

"Those bald guys are creepy," He grumbled, lowering his voice so that it would only be audible to the other boy, "Didn't think they'd rely on a physical tactic to get you and Shun back, but they did."

Shun shrugged at that point. The big man seemed a bit strange, but perhaps he was just really hungry or something along those lines. Rolling his shoulders, he eyed each of the others present individually and silently. There were a decent number of them. Perhaps if they all tried to get up and leave all at once some may be able to slip on by.

Then again, some of these people might actually want to be here for some reason. The time to attempt again will come. Yes, he had heard and seen Elliot's warning, but he wasn't completely keen on listening to the boy right now.

Spying the trainee from the parade...well one of them anyway, he nodded to her curtly while tapping his fingers against his arm idly.

He looked back at Elliot. "Aha that's the name!" he said with a smirk."Say isn't you that runs the flower booth?" he asked.

He turned to Shun. "You thinking of giving it another go?" he said referring to escaping the bonfire. He looked back at the two bald men.

Alec went quiet a moment, looking as if he was searching for the right thing to say. Waiting until the other sat down he leaned forward a bit and too the trainee spoke in a quiet tone. "A friend and I were wanting to enlist..later after this is said and done mind me asking you were best to sign up would be?" The red head leaned back sitting back on his log before one of the Bald twins flayed him alive. Alec could only hope he'd kept his voice down, having to move a bit so he was on the other side of Henrik and his precious pie.

Obviously he didn't expect her to tell him now. That was impossible, instead he settled on his log for the moment. At least they seemed able to sit and shuffle around as they pleased. That was a relief.. Raising his voice a bit in answer to her last part of her question he smiled. "Well, we all made it mostly in one peace." Beside Preacher being sick. "Although, good luck trying to get away." He warned the girl semi-seriously, glancing over his shoulder.

"Um..just a little bit. I see something moving over in the darkness. Don't suppose they have more of them do you?" He muttered replying to Elliot, half joking even if the idea was horrifying. He gave the taller pink haired boy a wary look as if he suddenly wasn't so sure. Glancing at Shun, Alec offered a sympathetic shrug as he went silent. "Besides, worse you end up is with a few friends. That can't be that awful." Alec tapped his finger to his chin in consideration. He was essentially trying to indicate to the other he wouldn't mind hearing from him. Whether Shun choose to brush him off again with another grunt was one thing. At least the red head had offered.

"Cyril...they both will drag you back man. I dunno if two of you can do it." Nor was Alec offering to be their third. The idea of being dragged back and screamed at wasn't his idea of a good time.

"All in due time," Shun stated to Cyril. Right now, things were too hot, he figured. He just needed to find the right time to make his move. With a shrug, he glanced towards Alec and simply didn't respond. He wasn't sure why these people were so adamant about being his friend. He barely knew any of them. It was weird and he wasn't sure what to make of it.

EVERYONE

As soon as that glorious pie went end-over-end in the space between himself and the pie-giver, Henrik's hand immediately shot out. The pie was nabbed in the palm of his hand, his fingers instantly curling around the pastry. Not one crumb fell free. Not one delectable ounce of juice broke from the buttery crust of the fruit pie.

For one so large, Henrik was deceptively gentle. With pies, at least, or so it seemed.

Yes. Yes, this was wonderful. His mother used to make fruit pies for him when he was a child. She'd been ill, and it had been so very long since he'd had a fruit pie.

Too long.

The man let out a rather loud ...was that a purr?... as he bit into the pie. He did not speak until the pie was gone, but he did make the most unsettling sounds as he devoured the pastry; small groans, noises that sounded suspiciously like moans, and low grunts.

It was probably pretty obvious that Henrik loved sweets. What wasn't to love?!

Once the pie was gone, Henrik settled back with a satisfied exhale. Not a scrap was left behind, no crumb to be found. That pie had been utterly and completely demolished. He sent Preacher a grateful look, all smiles.

"Thank you, little Preacher. It was a very, very, very good pie. I am Henrik. It is very nice to meet you."

He cleared his throat and raised his voice.

"It is very nice to meet everyone."

Maybe they, too, had pies.

"It's my mother's flower stall," Elliot responded firmly, leaning forward to prop his elbows on his knees, "But yes, I was manning it for a bit. Filial duty and all that." He didn't find it necessary to note that they had forced the job on him in hopes that he'd learn a little responsibility. That wasn't something these guys needed to know.

His gaze shot to Alec as the other boy spoke to him, and a grimace immediately settled itself over Elliot's face. "Gods, no. Don't say it, Alec--two is already a little worrisome, but even I'd be a little terrified if we were being guarded by a pack of bald men." Holy hell, wouled that ever be horrifying.

Perking up upon hearing Cyril's question to Shun, the boy let out a long sigh. "Don't say Alec and I didn't warn you if you try...but yeah. If you're really going to try again, I'd wait for a bit like Shun says. They're probably watching the two of you like a hawk right now." Or like a bald eagle. Hahaha, get it? Bald eagle?!

Lloren nodded back at Shun, who looked less than pleased as usual. It was tempting to make it a personal challenge to get this guy to laugh. The cause of his dismay was soon made apparent by Alec and Elliot's discussion.

"What, those two works of art won't let you guys leave? Pfft!" She chortled, finding that so absolutely hilarious that she'd jumped into the conversation without any further ado. She glanced back and forth between the huge bald men. With one of them, it might be intimidating... but with two so similar to each other, it was comical. She turned back to the others. "If it's that important to them that we stay, doesn't it make you curious what they have to show? Unless it's just some marketing ploy." She said that last part with a bemused roll of her eyes and wrists, turning her palms upward.

Though if she were to guess, someone else was pulling their strings. Maybe their mom. "Do you figure they're siblings?" She asked jokingly when unexpected noises rose from near Preacher and opposite of Alec. With his sleeveless shirt, the gravedigger's arm muscle definition was obvious. "Aahh! No fair! Everyone's getting ripped except me..." she whined mildly, and then frowned in slight concern as she realized he'd called Preacher little. That might not end well... ok, nevermind, it seemed the hooligan was conking out as they spoke. "Anyhow, nice to meet you sir. I'm Lloren." The trainee extended a hand to shake, delivering a friendly smile.
