Naughty Cami indeed but she didn't much mind. Nobody was going to card Otto unless he got belligerent which she highly doubted he would be. The blond seemed so laid back that it seemed unlikely he was the kind of drunk that got wild n crazy when the opportunity presented itself. Then again, you never knew. Resolving to keep an eye on her buddy she sipped at her second drink, enjoying the flush of warmth through her system as she collapsed into a chair. "Alice in Wonderland teapot with two cups for Mimsy. I had to walk through hell to get there though. D'you think Disney's in on it? Or is it just like...coincidence." Cami, apparently, got thoughtful when drinking. Greaaaaaaaaaat.

Luckily, Otto was two kinds of drunk; Giddy or Sleepy. Always one or the other. Never rowdy. He made a face at the mention of Wonderland. "Mimsy likes Wonderland..." He knew that, sure. But he wasn't sure why. "You friends with her, I guess?" Her thoughtful wonderments were met with a lazy sort of shrug, now halfway through his second drink. "Coincidence. Ain't like Wonderland is Disney's, yanno? It's like.. a book first. Theres a billion adaptations or whatever." He drawled slowly, poking at his plastic cup.

"Oh. That's true. I never read th' book." She wondered why it was that a tale so monstrous was so popular. Why were people so obsessed with things that were scary and/or horrifying? Why did they want to be afraid? Maybe because...because they weren't afraid ever? What a problem to have! Lost in her reverie she'd forgotten to mention the convoluted involvement that was her and Mimsy Kercher. "Uhm, she's kinda my sister? Sort've?" She shrugged and took another sip. "It's really convoluted in a way that would probably take me a week to tell the whole story. Family is definite though. She was kinda my hero when I was a kid." Still was but Cami had seen how most of Deus felt about the scientist -- admitting that she still looked up to Mimsy in an inexplicable way was not something she was feeling up to at the moment. More drink was applied. "We really gotta go back, huh?"

"Sister?" Otto's face turned sour. Mimsy was bad news. Brilliant, but twisted. She said and did creepy things. She spoke ill of his deceased idol, Clerise. He did not like Mimsy. How could Cami be related to that thing? They didn't even look remotely similar.
"Hero?" He sneered, put off by this concept that he almost didn't want to drink anymore. His drink was now empty.
Her question was met with a grave nod. "The fantasy's gotta end, yeah. Y'get in trouble if you stay longer than you're allowed." His drawl got thicker the more the drink took hold, the full sway of the southern accent deep set in his words.

Cami almost sighed until she remembered she wasn't quite drunk enough yet to lose all control of her emotions and reactions. That was, almost exactly, the general reaction that her relation got when the name was brought up in company among anyone on the island. Shu, at least, seemed to be deeply important to the pale Lifer and if she only had one friend that could tolerate Mimsy, that would be enough. Maybe. Keeping her tone light she shrugged. "Not a kid anymore, at least. She's letting me stay in her room which has me out of the basement so, tea set of gratitude." Looking up at the setting sun she knew that they had to be back on the island soon. Time here in Orlando was basically the same as that on Deus for which she was both grateful and absolutely not. "C'mon, lets grab an ice cream on the way out. My treat." Gathering up the various purchases she'd made throughout their stay she swayed a bit on her feet, giggling softly. Now wasn't the time to focus on island politics when it came to who liked who. Now was time to giggle tipsily, eat an ice cream, and enjoy her last days in magical paradise. "This was the best thing I've ever doooone~ You're still the literal best, Otto."

"Her room? Then is she like.. in Robert's or somethin?" He knew they were married, after all. Unless Cami was staying with them both... that had to be awkward. Otto gathered his back pack, slinging it over his shoulder. Unsteadily he stood up, holding hands with Cami if only so he wouldn't wobble and sway too much. Friends needed to help each other out, after all. "Yeah, I am pretty awesome.." He mumbled smugly, smirking ever so lightly.

Shoulders shrugged. "Pretty sure something like that. I think she's building a house or something so I'll just inherit her room for realsies one day. Hopefully." Very hopefully because as much as she was touched by Jasper's watching guard it wasn't the same as sunshine on her face or a lamp burning throughout the night. Or a warm hand in yours. Looking down at the hand in hers Cami felt happiness bubble up inside of her. Maybe breaking through Otto's shell wasn't going to be the tidal wave she'd expected. Maybe it was just going to be a slow trickle that eroded a stream of feeling between them. She could live with that. Happily. Contentedly. Leaning in for a moment she rested her head against his shoulder, eyes closed, absorbing just being close to someone for a long minute. "The most awesome. Don't forget it." Tottering away down towards the portal, towards a life that was probably not going to be nearly as delightful as the past two days, her grip tightened slightly. "Back to it then." And she stepped through the portal that would take them home.

It almost felt like a date. Holding her hand, having her get so close. It was a warm feeling. It was also a feeling of; is this wrong? Was it wrong to want company, even platonically? He just missed it, Missed being close to someone. Starting all over again. He pushed this sadness down. Deep down. "It ain't so bad." He tried to assure her, the muggy air of Deus now around them outside the Lighthouse. "I mean.. not everyone here is terrible." And she could come to visit anytime she wanted.

"No, the people are the least of my problems with the island." Thinking about the angry ginger she seemed to somehow keep antagonizing on Twitter without trying much, she winced slightly. "Not all of them, anyway." Perhaps she followed him up to his room on purpose because going back down to her lonely room wasn't something she especially wanted to do. Maybe she wanted to bask in the fact that she'd actually made progress in the friendship department on this trip. Maybe she just wanted to see if she could get Otto to smile again. Somehow she ended up on his couch eating the remnants of their chocolate ice cream from the day they'd met, bags piled up next to the door for when she left. Somehow, and she would swear with honesty in her eyes that it was unintentional, she'd fallen asleep on the couch. Curled up tight around one of the million pillows on the sectional, light bathing her red hair with its gentle touch, it was the best she would ever sleep on the island to date.

Otto liked her company. He'd sat next to her, playing a Disaster movie while they both ate ice cream. When he'd noticed she'd fallen asleep, he'd found one of the blankets he kept lying around for her. It was tucked around the woman, careful not to wake her. His movie wasn't over, so he remained next to her, his own blanket curled around his shoulders. He didn't want to leave her just yet. He too fell asleep somewhere down the line, curled on the couch opposite of Cami. Lights were kept on. They stayed on till morning. The menu of his movie still played on loop.
