He smiled back to her, tail swishing more. When she started to move out into deeper water, he moved out along with her, not letting go of her hand until she was fully ready. "Don't worry, I won't let you sink or get washed away." He told her, rubbing her hand lightly with his thumb.

She nodded her head, glad he was still by her side. Remembering a bit of advice from someone back at home, she went further in and then leaned back so she was floating on her back, trying to quell the nervous rush she felt when she sunk down just a bit.

He blinked a bit when she turned onto her back at first, but just watched as she floated back. He moved closer to her and held his arms out under her, catching her when she sank a little, guiding her back up but not supporting her either so she learned to float on her own.

She continued to float, letting Edwin guide her in need be, but just getting used to be in the water in general. Finally she turned and tried to move her way through the water, feeling nervous she was going to sink like a rock.

He continued to hold his arms under her, smiling when she didn't seem to sink anymore. "Good job," he praised, following her as she turned to start swimming, "remember, kick from your thighs, not your knees and just keep stroking... you know how to do that right, Kitten?" He teased.

She puffed her cheeks and glared at him, bringing an arm up and splashing it down so water splashed right on his face, but she did as he instructed, taking it slow. Swimming was a bit tiring, having to use muscles she wasn't used to using it, but thankfully, they were in a shallow area, so if she needed to stand up, she could.

He chuckled and covered his face when she purposely splashed her hand into the water hard to hit him with the resulting splash. He continued to stay by her side though. "Better concentrate, you'll sink if you lose your focus and rhythm." He told her.

She 'hmph'ed at him, turning her face away and nose in the air a bit, but she focused back on swimming, getting a little bit better with the technique he showed her. But she had to stop and rest, standing up on the sand under her feet to catch her breath.

He chuckled at her haughty attitude at him. He was tempted to give her a push, but didn't want to freak her out since she was still only learning how to swim. "You're doing very good." He praised her as she kept swimming before moving closer as she stopped and stood up if she needed help.

She panted lightly, turning to look at him, "You really think so? I feel like I am going to sink like a stone any moment now." she said, reaching up to squeeze some water from her hair, figuring she should get it trimmed some day soon.

At her question, he nodded. "Yeah. Most people who first learn how to swim do more splashing than anything else. You actually managed to move around in the water. You'll get used to that feeling and soon you won't feel it at all." He told her.
He looked back to their blanket for a moment, before looking back to her. "Hey... want to go rest up and eat some sandwiches before trying a little more?"

"Yea, some food sounds great right about now." she said, ready to get out of the water and back onto the sand, all that movement and work and nervousness and worked up her appetite.

He nodded and took her hand. With that, he lead her back to the beach, being careful with his footing when the waves would recede back. Once back onto the beach and on their blanket, he opened the cooler and pulled out a sandwich wrapped in plastic wrap and handed it to her. "Here you go Kitten, enjoy." He said, looking for a soda for her after she takes the sandwich

She held onto his hand tightly, especially when the waves pulled back on her a bit, startling her. But when they finally got onto the beach and out of the water, she let herself relax and loosen the hold she had on his hand. As much fun as swimming for the first time was, she did like to be on solid ground. Sitting on the blanket, she enjoyed the warmth of the sun warming and drying her fur, happily accepting the sandwich with a 'thank you' and she unwrapped it, taking a bite.

As she took a bite of her sandwich, he had found a soda and opened it for her and placed it beside her. When she was fed, he pulled out a sandwich and a soda for himself. Unwrapping his sandwich, he looked to her. "So, how do you like it?" He asked, tail flicking lightly, slowly drying in the sun
