Claudia Vesslia

Isabelle just wouldn't let up on her brother creating a more intensify situation. She stood there like a stubborn mule basically throwing her duties in his face and to Claudia it was unforgivable. The goth and her never had a spectacular relationship, but she hoped they would have resolved that. However, after she was done scolding him she turned to her exuding hate for absolutely no reason. The archer's head watched her partner journey into the darkness by himself with pain written across his face. Adi wasn't budging anytime soon and she was sure that the last person he wanted around was an unsympathetic guard. Before she could make her way from the frozen gypsy, Isabelle made a nasty comment that Claudia couldn't hold her tongue too. "Your right. He does need me." she responded hastily, and then biting her lip afterwards. She couldn't believe that just came out of her mouth and with her head down, she followed Nyru. Through the devouring portal, the two soon to be four, were transported into the throne room searching for their queen.

Like a gift from the heavens it was easy to tell. It was love from above that could save me from hell.
She had fire in her soul, it was easy to see, how the devil himself could be pulled out of me.
There were drums in the air as she started to dance,
Every soul in the room keeping time with their hands.

And we danced on into the night!

━━Ɍυɼ'Дɖɩқą Дɖɖąɧąɼɼą━━

As the portal snapped shut with a eerie echo and whistle of cold winter winds, Adi felt her chest clench tightly as her stomach seemed to fall to her feet; right where her heart seemed to be. Darkened and muddied as it lay there figuratively next to the cold body of her most loyal friend and steed. As much as she knew they had to go, and said the words needed to get them to go; the instant they were gone Rur'Adika regretted it.

She felt lonely...the last connection to her people ripped from her.

The tears came anew, silent sobs shaking her shoulders; for a moment the world spun and Adi staggered but she managed to stay on her feet. She was determined to get this all done in the quickest and most respectful way possible. If she had to force down all her emotions, put up a front and wear her best face; she would. Anything to get past this...to get through it without dishonoring Croix's memory and still not force salt further into the wound.

"C-Charles..." Adi's voice coming out in a horse whisper, no strength or confidence behind it; not even a frail remnant of what she had been not moments before. "...I...need your men to carry Croix to a dry area....or as dry and clean as p-possible; I need a pier of wood to create a bonfire large enough to engulf and burn a horse..."

Her piece said, the pale mourning gypsy made her stumbling way towards a well that was nearby. Feet dragging, and her clothes slopping together with each stride from the level of mud, blood and water that clung to her. Once warm brown eyes now a dark hollow black, as a half lidded gaze took in the world around her. Adi had to get clean and dress in the appropriate attire, without getting dirty again.

So tired...

'Rest Adi...you can not push yourself much further; you're already drained of energy from the fight and mourning. You've given much already...Croix would understand that...' came Zuriel's voice calm and quiet, soothing slightly for Adi knowing she wasn't fully alone.

Bracing on the stone rim of the well, the gypsy shook her had. "Can't...it can't wait...I'm the only one that can do this properly; he deserves a proper burial right. Can't wait...I have others depending on me..."

That simple idea, notion and purpose was what kept Adi moving, drawing up the bucket of water with all her strength. The effort alone making her body hurt that she cried out, but the task was done. Soon she was washing away the mud and blood from her arms and face; even as Croix's blood was washed away Adi could still see it on her shaking fingertips. She could do this, she could complete this task alone and to the best of her ability with the time constraints.

Closing her eyes she imagined and remembered life at the beginning with Croix...nurturing her father's mare that carried Croix; there when she gave birth to him, cheering him with his first steps. The day she gave him his name and the bond was struck and the connection resting with the necklace she had crushed to break that connection and let Croix go into his final rest. As she thought of all those memories with a bittersweet taste on her tongue, Adi began to hum and eventually sing.

Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li lai-lay

Lay down your head and I'll sing you a lullaby
Back to the years of loo-li lai-lay
And I'll sing you to sleep and I'll sing you tomorrow
Bless you with love for the road that you go

The world around her becoming quiet and calm, peaceful however sad...as if the every land and sky weeping for the loss the angel and fortune child felt.

Like a piece to the puzzle that falls into place, you could tell how we felt from the look on our faces.
We were spinning in circles with the moon in our eyes. No room left to move in between you and I.
Our voices rang like the angels sing. We forgot where we were and we lost track of time,
And we sang to the wind as we danced through the night.

And we danced on into the night!

**using Nyru's layout as a palceholder**

Charles heard her voice call him, and he wanted to do whatever he could to help her in her time of need. Clearing his throat he jumped to his position as king and said "You heard the lady! Take Croix to one of the buildings nearby, clean the floors before you do and for heaven's sake be gentle! Doras, Henry! Gather your groups and get the broken beams and fences for the bonfire! " he then turned to Adi after his men nodded and exchanged words of respect to their king and Adi. Charles said "I can promise you, Rur'Adika, it will be the most spectacular bonfire Southmarch has ever seen".

Soon after, she began to hum, and delicately she began to sing to herself and Croix. It was a sweet, loving lullaby, and a heart-tearing goodbye to the one connection she had left with her people. Watching over her, Charles did his best to not become drowned by the emotions, but he respectfully stood at her side with his hands together before him and his head down. When she was finished, he nodded to his men to take Croix. "We will send him off in the main square. I hope that is okay" he said to Adi.

Charles quickly jumped into the role of king and leader of his people. His voice ringing out sharp and strong; commanding and direct, however still respectful. Course the harshness of it made Adi jump as she was already tense and still feeling shaking as the adrenaline wore off, so it wasn't surprising. Charles made sure that Croix was taken care of, and it was a great relief to her as she gazed on as they removed the bags and saddle, setting them aside as well as the Therians took her friend away.

Their words of condolence; genuine in their nature brought near tears to her already gritty and bloodshot eyes.

A splash of chill well water on her face helped the matter; bring Adi back to the present a bit more, resting her rattled nerves as reality set in like a cold iron fist in her chest. Charles' promise brought a smile to the young gypsy's face; charcoal eyes more of a warm dark brown now; they both knew it would not last however.

"Charles..." Rur'Adika breathed, her voice horse and raspy lacking the beauty it had if the day was not a waking nightmare for her. "...dear Charles..." she continued stepping forward and holding lifting her cleaned chill hands to the Therian's face. His warm skin near scolding against her cold fingers, but Adi didn't care as she stared up at him with warmth and kindness. "I don't doubt you, I trust you and your people that have been so kind to me. You are truly a good and kind king, deserving of your people and deserving of them. Words can not express my thanks."

With that Adi dropped her hands to his shoulders and took that bold step forward so she could wrap her arms around Charles in a friendly embrace. She was highly conscious of his station and even this was improper, but she needed to, felt right and Adi herself could do with a hug. However she did not linger, giving a squeeze before backing up again.

"I need to change..." with that she left Charles at the well grabbing the bags the helpful Therians had left for her.

Once on her own, the young mourning gypsy let the slow steady tears continue to fall. Her throat tight and swallow with the emotions and level of grief that gripped her like an iron vice. How she would sing, she didn't know, but Adi was determined. So she dressed in her gypsy best, a white dress; layer upon layer of creamy white in sheer materials over one another. Golden details and ornaments decorated it throughout, any color she wore was removed and replaced with white. There was a purifying routine that had she been with her people that Adi would have gone through, one she desperate wished for but could not do on her own. Feeling dirtied and stained with blood that could not simply be removed, and certainly not the blood that stained her hands.

So she continued to hum and sing that wonderful mournful song of grateful wishes and sorrowful goodbyes as the men prepped Croix and his funeral pier.

May you sail far to the far fields of fortune
With diamonds and pearls at your head and your feet
And may you need never to banish misfortune
May you find kindness in all that you meet

May there always be angels to watch over you
To guide you each step of the way
To guard you and keep you safe from all harm
Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay

"You need not express more thanks, we at least owe this to you after what you and your friends have done for us" Charles replied softly as he accepted her embrace and returned the squeeze. He did not care that she were filthy with blood and mud, only that she felt like there was people here who felt for her. When she left him to dress, he nodded epacefully and turned to his men. "We have not much time to mourn our dead. We shall burn them with Croix, they will all be remembered for their heroic efforts and I - I will assure that Zurakkis will accept them after this life. " Charles' tone quietened as he thought about his dead men, they sacrificed themselves for this cause, and yet they did not expect to die, not here, not in their now defiled city. His men went about doing their chores, but he looked behind him and at the macabre mess left behind. To himself, he said "I bet there are more groups in this city... how many more lost Daywalkers have been brought here..."

He awaited patiently for Adi to finish, and in the square the destroyed rubble and wood was put together to create a large circular fire. The flame was not lit yet, and would ignite once Croix was brought through. The men who died here today were laid around the circle, on the inner side of the ring. One of his men stood beside him and said "It was wise to not bring the children and wives... Thank you for ignoring me". Charles looked to his companion and almost laughed, the cheape xhale from his lungs acting like he could still feel happiness, or humour. He replied "But are they much safer on the Isles? Hm... we'll get this place safe soon eh?"
"I'm sure it will be swift. It will be nice to never see the Verdant again"

━━Ɍυɼ'Дɖɩқą Дɖɖąɧąɼɼą━━

She was dressed in pearly white, laying in layers in her skirt, lace about her throat and shoulders as that too disappeared into layers of sheer white material. Adornments of gold all about Adi; in her hair, in the necklaces hanging from hr neck, the bright bangles about her writs and on her fingers. The dress itself having adornments of gold sown right into the material. As she walked out of the rundown barn, she was a heavenly image fitting of the angel wings she bore.

And even as she stepped from the barn and eyed the courtyard in the distance as wood began to grow and saw the men that were also being placed there. Adi resisted the urge to protest, they had dead to mourn as well...warriors of their own to show respect to in their file moments on this plain. Croix ashes would be mixed with their own and she could live with that. So the gypsy woman continued to sing the song over as she walked slowly closer to the pier her friend was to last spend his moments on.

Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay, loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay

Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li lai-lay
Loo-li, lai-lay

As she stood before for the pier, Croix was placed upon it with a simple nod of her sorrowful face, tears beginning to form in her eyes again. Adi was determined to get through this without any further crying, she still had to sing the song while he burned; watching the embers travel to the heavens and plans where Croix could forever run and play. It was a simply another nod and the pier was lit, the fire quickly eating at the dry timber and kindly meant to feet such a funeral pier. Adi herself pulled a cotton bag from around her waist from a gold chain belt she wore and tossed it in. It wasn't long before the distinct smell of a different herbs filled the air; wiping away the smell of death and decay about the courtyard.

Adi never faulted in her song, even as she wished there were more people, her people to dance about her. Wishing she could give him exactly what he deserved and needed, but this was all she could give him. That alone caused the gypsy to cry her voice cracking slightly and that more mournful as she continued to carrying on with her farewell lullaby. Adi forgot the world around her, failed to notice the Therians around her mourning their own as well. She prayed that Croix's spirit would make it home to wear he belonged and not in a world that he did not know and did not belong. He was such a gentle and easily spooked creature, she should never have brought him into battle.

The fire burned bright and hot, curling into the night sky high above and she continued to stand there, singing till her voice could no longer bare it, till her knees gave out under her as she fell to the ground. When she could not sing no longer, Ad just cried, letting out all her grief out one last time while clutching in her hand the necklace that had once connected her to Croix. And there she would stay till the last ember burned out.

Sleepsong - Adi's song

From shadows
We'll descend upon the world
Take back what you stole
From shadows

((listening to the song it's beautiful))

When she emerged, she was like an angel reborn from light, and the figments of eachs trand of light had come together to weave her a dress that was white and pure as the holy sun. Charles lifted his chin and watched her stepped from the barn and looked out, noticing the detail around her neck and shoulders, the gold reflected in the dim light that did manage to cover the land... and even now the clouds above them were darker than ever before, witht he rumble of thunder shaking his armour. The wings that burst from her and shimmered like an elegant ethereal material supported what she was, a very divine, and very unique individual, one that was blessed by something higher, something trapped.

He saw her look over the bodies, and realised why she may be surprised, he almost raised a hand to stop the preparations but he saw as Adi's expression calmed, she accepted it and so he thought he would no longer question it. The dead died together, and they would be liberated and sent off to whatever realm they belong to together. Her voice became clearer and louder as she got closer, and the soldiers nearby nodded to her respectfully as she past, letting her voice soothe their souls from within as she sung a lullaby... to send their dead to sleep.

As the fire grew and consumed all, she continued to sing her farewell, and Charles got down to one knee behind her in respect to Croix and the fallen, behind him his remaining men followed as an eerie coldness brushed through their feet, reminding them of such a world they existed in - but the fire will act as their light of hope and happiness - it will remind them that somewhere, someday, the end would be the meaning. Soon enough, when the bodies could no longer be seen behind the flames, Adi fell to the floor and cried. She cried and released her feelings and all her sorrow.

The Land of Crows... Charles thought about it for some moments as he felt the warmth of the bonfire caress his cheeks. Once upon a time... it was a beautiful land, dark green and thick of forests and filled with the most beautiful and unusual of wildlife. Paintings and scrolls would tell him all about it. Its what had come to change this land to what it is today, that made him upset to think he was coming back - but this was home. Vampires... Werewolves... The Therians were but unfortunately involved, the vampires brought and teased the dark magic to linger here, and now it is half way to becoming much the same as Sheol, where the Bone City lies. The once, apparently beautiful, capital of the Conclave of Declasia. Now it is but infested with warlocks and witches, some Demon's too that dare not cross the desert. But, all in all, he wondered, why in such a time of 'peace' that the Guildeam always spoke about, but the Land of Crows be left to suffer, and why are such evils still living?

Distracted and exhaustion causing her to have more of tunnel-vision then she would have liked. Adi very rarely acknowledge what the Therians were doing around her while she grieved and watched Croix's body disappear behind the flames and the beginning of a smell that was distinctive of burning flesh. It didn't last as she quickly tossed in the bag of herbs she had prepared and soon an earthy and garden herbs filled the air.

The gypsy never noticed the mighty warriors and wolves take a knee behind her while she cried her anguish to the sky.Still she managed though to stand again when all she wanted to was crawl into a nearest bed and die there of loneliness; letting the emptiness in her chest consume her.

Uneven on her feet, Adi still managed to lay a kiss upon the ruby gem that lay across her palm. As if blowing a kiss to the funeral pier, she blew and instead of air fire came forth. The already burning pile of the deceased burst to life with more heat and flame then before. The heat so intense that it cause Adi's hair to fly about her face and head a bit; making the ends of her dress dance. But this didn't last as the fire left little behind and as the wood turned to ash and collapsed in on itself; bodies once there now gone. It wasn't long before it was out and going cold.

"I'll take a part of Croix's ashes will me...but if you could do me a favor Charles; find a large meadow and scatter the rest of his ashes to the four winds. Now I depart for the city..."

Adi stepped towards the fire, each step felling like she was weighted down by lead and iron; every movement a challenge and double the effort. But she managed to collected a jar and the necklace that had once been around her neck since she had gone through the bonding ceremony with Croix. It was a locket mostly, and now housed a portion of his ashes. The funeral done to her best ability, his ashes collected and Charles scattering the rest.

"There's nothing left for me here now..." she breathed walking to her bags.

'Not true young one...there is much here left for you; let not the sorrow eat at you till there's nothing left put the pain and anger," Zuriel said in a soft whisper. "I did gain some understanding however to your little situation with the Prince's powers. Purely using my own irritates the 'darker' sources of that now rest within you - the Prince. Essentially you nee to maintain a balance of both light and dark to be painless."

Adi nodded as she shouldered her bag making sure it settled between her wings without issue and neither was it horribly heavy now that it held everything that Croix once carried for her. "Light and Darkness nestled inside me...I have to apologize in advance though Zuriel...pain and anger have already taken root right now. I will not be very good at balancing it."

With that, a single flap of her wings took Rur'Adika to the darkening skies and the incoming galls taking her quickly towards the city. The black tips of the white wings now becoming half as she flew faster and faster. Anger blossomed in her chest as she watched Croix die over and over in her head. The pain in her chest she felt when he received the killing blow and the pain now making its home there with her friend gone. Cracks in her heart seeping the anger and pain she felt and Adi planned to show the demons and their leader just what sort of enemy they had made for themselves.

She would decimate them all; there was no holding back this time.

A time had past since the burning fire had extinguished itself, the embers were cold and the glow was gone. Like the life of those fallen the fire too had died, taking its last breath on this world to send the spirits of the dead to rest. Adi expressed what she would do with the ashes, and what she wanted Charles to do with the rest. "Very well" he said, "I shall scatter them on four different days, to each wind" with a respectful nod he took a step back as Adi got ready to leave. He let her take her portion of the Ashes, and he made sure to take the rest of them and do exactly as he promised. Watching her take off like an Angel almost renewed hope in him, but truly, he never believed in Angels, only demons.

When had an Angel ever come to aide the mortals? Once, and that was during the Burning Invasion, but all that is left of that are accounts in old scrolls and books, probably written by mad-men or syndicate scholars - which to him were both the same. Even then, the Angels that did descend were here to stop the Demons and after they were defeated, the Angels simply left, only one of them leaving behind a small force that fell apart and turned into a guild of law and supposed justice. But what that angel left behind turned man to go to war with itself. He shook his head as he thought about it, mortals had to deal with their own problems.

((Guess i'll leave it here :3 Hopefully after Lucifial we can re-visit this place, be so nice to see it all proper xD))
