In her rage - at both the crow and herself - End came charging in and punted the skull off into the far distance. It splintered as it hit a tree.

The scream in her head was no less anguished the second time round.

The bones of the long-dead kin scared her slightly, only because it selfishly reminded her of her own mortality. She took a moment to read the symbols and laughed, bitterly.
"Huh, someone's trying to get kin killed."

Yeah, you. She hatefully thought - then she brightened as she caught sight of a well-formed log. She trotted over and inspected it: good and stout, just like Never Idle needed. She pushed at it, but it remained firmly caught in the bracken.
"Mrrf urrf!" it was much harder to talk through the grass than the beeswax, but at least Bitter End was unlikely to shatter a log.

She tilted her head around and snarled, with all the pettiness in her heart, "Of course you would get just what Never Idle needs. Again." To her credit though, she came over to help push the log, sullenly but effectively.

Feeling rather smug about it all, Sleepless started rolling the log back towards Never Idle’s site, head held high with her mouthful of grasses.
SUCCESS! #3

She stomped away after having helped roll the log back, enraged and humiliated. She stomped and stomped and after a while, felt a strange burning in her legs.
She looked down to an alien patch of leaves, and stared at it, still, with all her hatred.

"Wait, don’t go there, it’s -" Sleepless had started calling as Bitter End stomped off, "ohhhhh, never mind."
Too late - not that she could say she was too cut up about it.
"I guess we should stop for the day," she concluded, watching as the doe dash off.

Bitter End bolted off, hissing at nothing in particular (or to be precise, everything). She soothed herself plotting Twice's demise in a pool of cool water till darkness fell, and waited for dawn to come.

The next day started out much like their first - End stared suspiciously at the snakeskin, still intact, sighed bitterly and swept it up with her tail.

She stopped to stare at a collection of birch ribbons and snarled "I'm not falling for that again" at them, as if the shreds of bark could understand her vicious loathing for the world and Never Idle in general.

"Ah ha!" She spoke, triumphant, although it sounded a little like a sneer. With a delirious grin she eagerly bent down to pick it up - but the mere lift with her muzzle snapped it cleanly in two.
There was a very angry shriek, and hoofsteps stomping away.

She almost stomped onto a pile of glittering beetleshells, collected by some undoubtedly hardworking creature who liked shiny things.
In a better mood, she would've nabbed some. Since she was not in a better mood (to be fair, she barely ever was), she viciously kicked it, scattered it about the area and stomped away again.

A beautiful, succulent mango lay on the floor, tree-ripened and just fallen, she could tell. It was fragrant, plump and stunning. Bitter End stared at it with warring feelings in her chest and stomach.
It should have been carried away reverently - but she ate it and angrily spat out the pit.

"Oughtn't you bring that back to Never Idle?" but the deed had already been done, "well, do what you like."
