Alex snorted. "No, you are awful, you're just the kind I can stand," he said, pawing out from under the pillows. Suddenly, from somewhere in the depths, there was a soft "mew," and Alex pushed a few blankets aside to be greeted with the face of a very small, very fluffy kitten. "You didn't tell me you had a cat!"

"Oh so there's a kind now is there?" Des laughed only to blink. "Oops. I didn't realize she was in there.. Alex, meet Arsenic. She's Gabriel's, not mine. But uh... I guess you can baby her till Gabriel gets here??"

"I'm not gonna press the issue of why Gabriel's cat is at your house," Alex said, lifting the tiny creature into his arms and petting her. "God she's cute."

"Christmas present. Wasn't sure he could have it at his flat so she stays here." Des raised a brow, amused with Alex's reaction. "Are you a cat person?? I had no clue."

"She's absolutely precious, I love her, and you have a very lucky boyfriend." Alex laughed, scratching behind her ears and eliciting a very adorable purring noise. "There's a lot you don't know about me, sweetheart."

"Yeah. Luka offered me a room but I obviously can't take it," Alex said, focusing on the kitten because she was good for happy thoughts. "Princess precious have a name?"
There was a knock at the door, which was really only for politeness's sake because a minute later Gabriel was walking in. "Des? Alex?" He called .

"Other then the fact you are staying here and thinking s**t through, why not?" Des rolled his eyes. "You don't listen do you? Arsenic. Cause of the fur color. And why he knocks I WILL NEVER KNOW." "Name a kitten after a deadly poison, sure, why not?" Alex rolled his eyes. "I can't take it because he's in love with me and I don't love him back and it wouldn't be right."
"I knock because I was't raised in a barn," Gabriel replied, walking into the living room, his expression softened when he saw Alex and Arsenic. "She's perfect, isn't she?"

"His idea, not mine. You know where I go with names." Des waved a hand dismissively. "If I know Luka,-" And he did. "He's probably made a comment about how the offer still stands, regardless of your answer?"
"Sweetheart, Alex has keys and even he doesn't knock... speaking of which how did you even get those? I changed the locks and dead bolt twice." He then rolled his eyes. "Be glad you're not in my positon Alex... I have competition from a cat."

"Yeah, he did," Alex said, "but that doesn't make it right. I can't impose myself on him when he feels that way about me and I don't feel the same, Des." Alex said, his voice soft. "And aside - I maxed out my thievery. Hide your keys better, bro."
Gabriel laughed, walking around and sitting next to Alex on the couch. "You do not have competition from a cat, I just also love the cat very much." He lifted her out of Alex's arms, stroking her soft fur. "Oh I have missed you so much Princess," he murmured into her fur. "I really need to talk to my boss and ask if I can take her home."

Then he glared. "I had them in a safe. A safe Alex. What do you want me to do, go national security on them?" Des just rolled his eyes at Gabriel's antics. "See what I mean?"
