A nearby rope caught her attention and she affixed it accordingly. She had no idea if it was the proper length or even if it was correct but it caused her to smile. "Oh!" She exclaimed, looking around for the paint. Grabbing at it she grinned happily and went to work on it, splashing it with blacks and red and painting a silver fork and knife as an insignia on it. From her eyes it was perfect, absolutely perfect for her.

From anywhere else they would question her sanity as the paint was rather sloppy and most of it had ended up on her hands instead of the sled. With a beaming grin she stood over it, wiping off her cheek and this wiping a stripe of red paint over it. "YUP!" She said aloud, checking over her work. Usually she was terrible at making just about anything, but here she had something and it wasn't even on fire (yet)!

Staring down at the hill she could only wonder how fast it would go and how fun it would be. I can't wait to see!

That ghoul was probably a type different from the dreamy guy, but both of them were difficult to understand. He knew ghouls can be horrible, scary but now he had to add a potential new adjective - creepy. Mellow didn't understand why the petite ghoul was gazing him like that, he didn't do anything wrong or things worth her staring. He could feel the invisible pressure from her, though she was smiling sweet.

Jacking jacking jacking! (屮゜Д゜; )屮

In Mellow's mind, there was a little pony turning around nervously. Never mind, he didn't speak anything still. Being dragged by a cold hand, the pony made a shiver from head to feet. Was she a icy creature? He felt like touching a soft frozen texture. Since she seemed very excited on the decoration, Mellow felt bad to reject her invitation. Thus, he made a long sigh with white smoke, pulling his scarf which had a ribbon on and picked up a sticker - another snowflake. He regularly pasted it on the head of the sled. Looking back to the ghoul, he noticed she slapped blue snowflakes stickers one after another. She must be a blue lover, Mellow guessed. With another sigh, he picked up more snowflake stickers with different shapes and slapped them in between the dense snowflakes. Now they have a snowflake sled with fifty shades of blue.

So Blue.

".....I think that's enough?...."

When the stickers swallowed the original blue of the sled, Mellow felt he had to stop the delighted ghoul from slapping more snowflakes onto it.

"Soon!" Deckle clapped a hand on Amarus' shoulder, having overheard her question. "Let's just give everybody a little bit more time to get their sled prepared, eh?"

There was a huge grin on his face.

NEXT PART WILL BE UP TOMORROW!

The wolpertinger might have skidded himself to a halt outside of the building that his next class was to take place by..or in..or something, his booted feet kicking up the fine, powdered snow, liking spraying anybody within a five foot radius of him. He was breathing a bit heavily, having realized he was running a bit behind and hurrying over, bounding through the snow with his ears back and his wings pressed tightly against him.

But now he was here, and now he was ready to get started!

Since he had missed a bit of what the instructor had said, he carefully glanced around towards what the others were doing...but kept his gaze averted from actually looking at anything straight on, instead relying on his peripheral vision to see him through. Several of the students appeared to be picking up wooden bodies for their sled, so he did the same, and began to mimic the movements he saw others doing with the sanding.

Next it appeared he was meant to fasten metal blades onto the bottom of his sled. He acquired the supplies necessary and set to work, so far quite satisfied with his progress and proud of himself for getting the sanding part right so quickly.

He actually had no idea if he managed to do the second part right at all, however. Oh well, he supposed he would find out soon enough.

A length of rope was given to him so that he could put a handle on the front of his sled, something to hold on to, it would appear. He began tying it into place, trying to see how others were doing it and hoping he was doing it correctly. Once that was completed, he was then told that he could paint the sled if he wished!

Mathias made a beeline for the darkest red paint he could see, and began using that on his sled, splattering the paint on it with flicks of the brush so that it looked like blood splatter.

Yes. That was beautiful.

Unfortunately, Mayaa had been one of those students who had been dozing off during the professor's story (running in and out between all the classes was tiring!), and let out a loud squeak as the body of the sled hit the floor. That held her attention for about 5 more minutes, and then her mind began to wander as he went off into another tangent.

But then they were FINALLY going to start, and Mayaa was more than eager to get some sledding done!
She also hoped she got to see some penguins.

Picking out an orange plastic sled, she slapped as many stickers as she possibly could on it, stuck some handles on, and admired her handywork.
It was BEAUTIFUL.

Pulling out a piece of rope, the ghoul attatched it to her sleigh, making sure it was as secure as possible.

Now it was time to paint it and the ghoul helped herself to the paint; picking out greens, blues and purples and white. She painted the base white and, while she waited for that to dry, she mixed up the other paints to make different shades; a light, grey-blue, a light purple, a bright green, a bright purple and a dark purple-blue. When the base paint was dry she began painting half the sleed in the dark blue-purple colour, On the white she added some of the grey blue; either in large blotches or in small dabs. She added a bunch of white dots to the blue area and waited for that to dry.

When it was dry, she used the green and purple paints to create swirling lights on the blue; blending the colours as best she could. When she was done, and it was all dry, the sled had a wonderful Christmas mural - complete with aurora lights. Sophie had never seen the lights herself but she'd seen them in pictures before and they were lovely.

Alice, for some strange reason, decided to just leave the sled the way it was. Okay, after putting her name on it, then she was finished.

Alice, shifting her view from her original standpoint began to look around at the other people who were around. Many of them seemed like friends. Maybe someone will be kind enough to ride with her. Eventually.

Once everybody was done, Deckle grinned, his own sled tucked under his arm. “Alright! If everybody is ready to go, let’s head out back to my course.” he grinned, pausing only to motion to some scarves hung up by the door. “If you need some extra bundling up,” he gave everybody a look like they should be bundled up plenty anyways just for being there, “Grab one, otherwise, I’ll go show you what you’ll be running through!”

From the top of the hill a few turns past rocks and some trees, which alone seem like they’d be alright except the entire hill is more like an extreme drop. Deckle ignores any protests about how potentially unsafe said hill is.

“I just want you guys to go through the rocks there, then head down to the trees. Safe enough, promise.” He just smiles. A lot.

Going Down the Hill

There are 5 obstacles going down the hill as Deckle has instructed everybody to do!

If you have a WOODEN Sled, it has 20HP
If you have a PLASTIC Sled, it has 10HP
For every additional rider on a sled you get +5HP

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Point 1
That’s a really sharp turn!

    1.Roll 1d4!
  • If you roll even, you manage the turn without taking any damage!
  • If you roll odd, you skirt the edge of those rocks and take -3 damage! OUCH!
  • If you have more than 1 rider, every rider must roll. That is your odd or even. If it is a .5, roll up

**If your handle roll is ODD and your roll total is ODD, your dice goes up to the next EVEN for extra control of your sled!

**If you are in a WOODEN sled and you roll ODD, one of your EVEN blade screws comes out and does an additional -2 to your sled’s HP!
***THIS IS PER RIDER!***
***This is after factoring in the red note***

Point 2
There are a lot of bumps in the snow!

    1.Roll 1d4
  • That is the amount of damage you take!
  • Every rider must roll for this

** If you are in a PLASTIC sled, you take an additional -1 damage! After all, plastic does not save your butt from rocky bumps!

Point 3
Clear ahead! Just avoid the trees!

Nicking a Tree does -2 damage!

If you are on a WOODEN Sled
    1Roll a 4d10
  • For every dice you roll under and including 5, you nick a tree!
  • If you roll a 1, you hit the tree and take -3 damage!
  • Every tree nick removes an ODD rolled screw from your sled blades and does -2 damage to your sled!

If you are on a PLASTIC Sled
    1Roll 4d10
  • For every dice you roll under and including 4, you nick a tree!
  • If you roll a 1, you hit the tree and take -4 damage!

Point 4
From here it looks like smooth sailing until -

Deckle had warned you! You might have fallen asleep in his story, but he warned you.

THE SLED EATING YETI

When you have gotten past the first 3 points, you may join the Yeti Encounter!
  • The Yeti has 150 HP
  • You can have either an on-sled or off-sled encounter with the Yeti - this is up to each player and not per-sled!

    ON SLED
  • Your HP is your Sled’s REMAINING HP
  • Even if a player gets off the Sled, their added +5 still counts!
  • To fight on sled you will be making Snowballs!
    Making Snowballs!
  • Roll 2d6, -4!
  • You take -1 for every miss!

    OFF SLED
  • Your HP is Your Student’s HP minus their Sled’s Damage
  • Use your battle dice but -8 for accuracy from the cold!
  • The Yeti does -5 Damage to you, hit or miss!

You may attack either once an hour or after 4 other people have also attacked and filled in their posts.
