He didn't have to search long before the golem reached out a picked out a beanie himself.

"What do you think of this?"
"Uh... it looks good. Buy it."
So I can get this damn list over with and go back.

3 items down, he still had 4 more to go, and was about to pick another beanie when he suddenly heard the golem moving.

"ERROR QUERY: LOCATION? INPUT NEEDED."

Jake turned to see the golem staring at him blankly before repeating the statement again, and he looked around to see people looking at them, some whispering among themselves. Crap, it had malfunction NOW?

"L-let's go over there."
He tugged on the golem's arm and hurried out of the store.

After safely leaving coach, Sherry looked down at her list again. One more item. That was all she had to get to make Cealius happy and get back through the portal (if Jake had his list complete, too, of course). One more item. And it was Nair.

Sherry had heard of Nair. She knew what it was, but she'd never used it, never bought it. ...What kind of place would sell Nair? Did they even still make it? They must, if it was on the list, but where would be her best hope of finding it?

Reaching out, Sherry grabbed hold of the golem's forearm again. "No wandering off." At the same time, she looked at the stores around her. Surely there was somewhere.... Ah! There, the pink shop with the lingerie...not somewhere she'd been often (prices, oh dear) but surely if THEY didn't have it, no one would.

Sherry looked around. Around and around. She found far more things she would like for herself than for Caelius, but that was sadly how some things went. She did try to hurry, though. There was no Nair. No hair removal items, really. Nothing she could use to fulfill this list. Victoria's Secret was letting her down.

But then she found something that might work. Potentially. Maybe. If she were lucky. It wasn't the right item...but... it would have to do. She'd buy this, and one extra present for the Death lead as compensation for failing to find Nair, and then if the golem behaved maybe look for something for herself. She still wasn't sure about that, though. It might want to try things on, and that would have been very sad.

Plopping her two items on the desk, Sherry waited for cashier to ring them up, while keeping a careful eye on the golem. It looked like it was about to do nothing and that frightened her.

She had good reason to be worried.

""Wait. I forgot something! We're going back." And the golem darted out of the store.

Sherry grabbed her bag and followed fast as she could.



What could he have forgotten?

Ok, pikachu t-shirt acquired. Next on the list was... something something outfit. He would... probably need some help for this one, since it seemed like the sun lead wanted a specific kind of outfit, and he had no idea what the other words were.

Swallowing his pride, he asked one of the salesperson, and instantly regretted it as the moment they saw the list, ended up snickering. WHY couldn't he shop for the death lead instead? He should have asked Sherry to switch. Regardless, they pointed out a shirt containing the character, and Jake debated buying it when the golem decided to add some "helpful" input.

"...You're joking."

... maybe not. The clerk apologized and said that was the closest thing merchandise-wise, but he led Jake and the golem to another section of the store, showing him a trench coat that could vaguely resemble the character's outfit.

Eh, it'd have to do.

Ugh, ok, setbacks aside, he was actually completing the list, even if super slow. There was still 10 minutes left, so hopefully he could find the rest of the things in here.

Ignoring the t-shirt for now, Jake looked at the list again. Pikachu socks. Those shouldn't be too hard, considering he had found a t-shirt.

"I want two of these."

The golem leaned over his shoulder and jabbed its finger at the list, and Jake groaned. Whoever programmed these golems, he really REALLY wanted to punch them. But 2 pairs of socks, that didn't sound TOO bad (and you usually should have more than one pair...). Also, socks weren't too pricey, so that was ok, he should still be good with budget.

After searching for some time though, he hadn't managed to find pikachu socks, and he didn't have time to do another browsing, so he just grabbed a pack of yellow socks. CLOSE ENOUGH. Plus there was extra just in case he went and lost something again.

Alright, almost done, almost done. Despite the shopping trip being absolutely horrendous and he had barely seen Sherry since they came, he felt somewhat accomplished at having successfully completed such a horrendous mission, mostly because of the golem's unpredictable whim. Despite all that though, he still felt a little bad for losing two of the items, which had been paid for using the sun lead's money. Maybe he should buy him a gift to make up for it.

Going back to the Pikachu merchandise, he saw a wallet with the critter printed on it, when the golem suddenly pointed to another item

"I want that one instead."

Jake turned to see what the sun lead wanted now, and almost did a double-take.
Pikachu... and friends.
He finally... had everything...
