"Well, she's a great deal nicer than your brother about this all, that's for sure." Sebastian said quietly, as he opened up the menu, and looked at it.
"...This shrimp looks wonderful. Have you had it before? I don't think I've ever tried coconut shrimp before."
He flipped a couple of pages, and grinned. "And this wonderful Chocolate Crush cake for dessert... that sounds like a good idea. What would you like, Alison?"

"Everyone here is generally nice. We are family. And unlike most families we do get along even if we are dysfunctional."
Alison looked at the picture of the shrimp. "I haven't tried it but it sounds delicious."
"I don't need dessert. This appetizer is good enough for me." She smiled. "I don't eat pies, cakes, cookies, or the like. The junkiest thing I eat is chocolate covered apples and only because my brother refuses to eat them alone."

"You should eat what you enjoy." Sebastian said, smiling a bit. "I'd like to give you whatever you want, so order what you like."
He set down his menu, and chuckled. "As for me, I'm having this Shrimp Dinner with the coconut shrimp, the baked bread, and some cake for dessert."

"I'll go with the shrimp also." Alison smiled. She picked up one of the skewers and poked an apple. Afterwards she dipped it.
"Ready?" Aurora said when she returned. Once she had what they wanted and all the little quirks about it she left.
"Try this," she held the apple in front of his mouth. Her other hand was under it to keep it from dripping onto their clothes. Not that it mattered at this point. "It's hot so be careful."

Sebastian carefully put his mouth around the apples, and pulled them off the fork. He quickly took a drink of apple juice because it WAS hot, and he almost burned his tongue.
"Ah.. hot... hot... Hot but delicious!" he said, after he'd gotten it down his throat. "That is absolutely wonderful. Fried apples?" he asked, giving her a quizzical look. "I've never had them before, but I'll certainly order them from now on... It's got a very delicate taste to it." He licked his lips. "Like... sweet. And tangy at the same time. And crunchy."

"He makes some kinda sauce to dip them in. That's the sweet part." Alison leaned forward and kissed his lips. "There aren't many in this family that like junk food. Heavy amounts. We like to find other sweeter things to eat." She giggled. "And, Rhine can fry just about anything and it taste good. Even pickles."

"Fried pickles, hmmm? I might actually have to try those. Not now, of course. I'll have shrimp coming." He chuckled, licking his lips, and setting the menu aside. "I get some sweets from dad, but not many. Mostly, I think it's because he's still getting the hang of what's 'junk food' and what's not. Perhaps your mom could help with that?"
He drummed his fingers on the table a bit, then snapped, and smiled, reaching into his pants pocket, and taking out a small box of cards. They weren't exactly regulation, but they were portable.
"Do you know any card games, Alison?"

"You don't want my mom helping with that, trust me," she giggled, "unless of course you want to be eating lots of fruits and vegetables and never see a cookie again." She herself didn't mind because she couldn't miss out on something she had never really had.
"I've heard of poker, solitaire, and rummy. However, I've never played any of them. My mom says poker is for gamblers and the floozies who want the winnings." Her nose crinkled up.

Sebastian laughed, and said something... very Timelord. That is, very intelligent, and right off the tip of the tongue without even thinking about it.
"Poker is a brilliant way to exercise the synapses. It deals with numbers, execution, strategy, planning, and advanced bluffing techniques that tend to be useful in everyday life... Not to mention, it's fun! Shall I teach you how to play?"

Alison blinked a couple of times. "All I got out of that was numbers and strategy. Neither of which are all that fun to me. But I'm willing to learn anything. Well almost anything. There are somethings I'm just not willing to learn." She ate another fried apple slice as she watched him shuffle the cards.

Sebastian beamed, and went about teaching Alison how to play, taking every opportunity to touch her hand, as play allowed. He was very concise about how he taught her, showing her several different methods of winning, as well as pointing out that you had to plan your moves well in advance, which he was perfectly capable of doing, and was sure she was as well.
"... and that's basically the gist of it." he finished up, looking across to smile at her. "Fairly complicated and simple both at the same time. But I don't think you'll have many problems."

Alison was more paying attention to him and his actions and his touching of her hand. Her mind was more on him than trying to learn a card game. She did pay enough attention though to get by. She after all didn't want to make him feel bad. She gave a wide smile once he finished up.
"It isn't like I'm going to make this a profession," she said when he mentioned about not having any problems. "You know we are suppose to bet something. My mom mentioned something about money or clothes. This isn't the time or place to be betting or losing clothes."
"And how exactly are we suppose to play this when you can see my hand and I can see yours?" She was not all the keen on leaving his side and his warmth to be on the other side of the table all together. "I mean if you insist," she smiled, "I promise not to peek."

"Oh... We don't have to play right now." He said with a quiet chuckle. "We can play later. Our server should be here soon anyway... I just... maybe... wanted to sit next to you... We can do something else while we wait for our food after we order."
He leaned over, and kissed Alison on the cheek gently, giving her a bit of a grin. "Besides, if we sit on opposite sides of the table, we can't eat off each other's plates." Another goofy grin to show he was mostly joking.

"Later would be the better option, especially if I end up having to bet my clothes," She grinned. As long as she had legs that meant that she had extra clothes. Extra clothes meant that she stood a better chance of staying in the game longer.
"You are more than welcome to anything on my plate." She was use to her siblings going 'oh that looks good, can I try it'. She didn't say much because she did the same thing at times but only because they did it first. It also saved from having to buy a whole lot of something just to try it.
She scooted impossibly closer to him and leaned into it. "This is nice."

Sebastian went a bit pink around the cheeks, and leaned into Alison, arm around her, and his hand on top of hers. He reached out to pull her into a tighter embrace, into his chest where he could protect her and keep her safe.
"I'm right here. And I'm not going anywhere right now." he murmured. "After dinner, after tonight... tomorrow's the trip, remember? We'll have all day to curl and cuddle.... as long as your brother stays away from me. And you."
He grinned. "We can watch the episodes of my apparent history together, and learn what I'm supposed to be together... You can help me."
