He retaliated now, slashing his own claws at the shape while he had the opportunity.
Unfortunately for Elium, that also wound up earning him a heavy paw to the face.

The chimera didn't stop after that, easily shoving him to the ground with a low growl. Elium could have sworn he heard somebody yell 'timber', but with the noise from the crowd, it was impossible to tell.
Aiming a kick at the mascot's stomach, he struggled to get back to his feet, managing after a bit of squirming.

After being bitten by the chimera mascot's tail, Elium had decided that it wouldn't be a bad idea to start dodging.
It wasn't working as well as he would've hoped.

She lept at the monster again, swinging her leg back and planting a fairly solid kick to it's side. It wiggled and screeched as she kicked it again. Once more.

Going in for another kick, the monster caught her foot and sent the Jiang Shi flying to the ground again. Her small body bounced against the ground a couple of times.

Elium let out a sharp curse as the mascot smacked his hat from his head, sending it flying behind him. That was awfully rude--and he'd just have to punish it for the action, wouldn't he? A quick punch to the jaw was his next course of action, and it collided with a satisfying crunch. Hopefully, this wouldn't take much longer...

The feeling of cold hands, or whatever it had, was on her throat. Luckily for her she didn't need to breath but the monster didn't need to know that. Even still the pressure cause her throat to ache and she was pinned against the ground.

The creature's strength was starting to flag now, and Elium pressed his advantage while he still had it, moving in closer. The mascot received a solid backhand to the face, simply by virtue of the fact that it had moved just enough to avoid the initial swing. Unintentional, but he'd certainly take it.

With one last swing, the mascot was felled, dissipating with a soft hiss and leaving him there, panting and nursing a few deeper slashes. Elium shook his head, retrieving his hat from a short distance away, placing it back where it belonged before stalking away from the battlefield.

She clawed at the Reaper monster. Trying to reach up and poke something. She felt a squish and it screeched but still the monster kept a grip on her. The dirt beneath her beginning to crumble as her small frame was pushed into the ground.

Mei felt herself getting weaker. She knew this feeling. It was so familiar to her now. She was going to loose here really kick if she didn't do something fast. Something desperate.

It was close enough. If she could concentrate she could do it.
Opening her mouth, a green glow began to pulse and eminate from deep eithin. Slowly little tendrils of FEAR began to stream off the monster and gather in her mouth. Her mouth snapped shut and Mei swallowed the FEAR. Allowing it to flow through her body and heal some of her wounds.
That was a bit better.
