"Well, ain't that a kick in the nuts..." Gwen said in response to Hayden's newest info drop. She looked to the ones that gathered around her and gave a 'what can you do' shrug, a little annoyed by the breaking of their teams but not willing to throw a fit over it. She gave a playful but comforting back on the back for Orah and Arian. "Don't worry, I know the two of you are going to be fine. Just hope you pick good numbers!"Then she looked to Delilah and Danika, wearing a sincere apologetic look as she gave them a comforting nod. "Good luck in drawing numbers, then. Don't worry, it's not like they're going to seriously try to kill us out here or anything."She moved forward and claimed her map, hoping to hide any ounce of fear or apprehension that she might have been feeling right now. She was really hoping that this wasn't just another scheme from the Negaverse...

After hearing Hayden's announcement about the starting zones, Margarita flushed a little under the yellow face paint.
"Well, there goes our group."
She pulled out her cell phone and flailed her arm around to watch the light on the blinking bracelet swirl in the darkness as she waited to get her map. After receiving trading in the cell phone for the map, she checked her assigned location.
"Oooh! The mess hall! Anyone else starting in the mess hall? We can walk there together!"

Marlin wasn't sure he liked Hayden Pembrose's comment about the bracelets on their wrists being tracking devices, but it seemed they were pretty much stuck with it - well at least not until the impromptu treasure hunt that their host had appeared to set up for them was over.
It seemed that some of the others were forming into teams - a rather large one that included some guy in a lobster costume and then a smaller one made up of three women, he noticed first one and then another woman head over to talk to the three and mentally amended it to a second team of five - all female.
For his part Marlin was unsure of whether he wanted to join a team or try going it alone, although he'd prefer small if he was going to go down the team route - as in one or two members top small and to be honest he was leaning more towards trying to go it alone.
And then Hayden Pembrose spoke again and it turned out that his musings were a moot point - looked like he was going to be doing it alone after all - at least to start.
Moving forward to take a map, he reluctantly checked in his phone at the same time before glancing at the location that he'd been assigned.
Looked like there was nothing for it but to head to the place marked out on the map and wait for the starting signal.

Arian privately agreed with Orah's giving the creeps comment, hoping that this really did turn out to be some sort of party and not some sort of nefarious plot thing. He didn't mention his misgivings though, nodding at Orah instead as he agreed quietly "We're in this together." He quirked a slight smile at Gwen's statement of them being the ones to win the thing. Most of the others seemed to be drifting into a team around Isha, with it looking like it was going to be just the 3 of them - not that Arian minded. And then first one and then another was speaking to them, Arian realising that two others had come over to them, a little surprised when first one and then the other asked if they could join them. "I don't..." he started to say quietly and then at that moment Hayden Pembrose chose that moment to speak. Arian listened as their host explained that they were being assigned a zone, with it slowly sinking in that they could potentially end up being split up - well at least unless by some fluke he, Orah and Gwen ended up being assigned to the same zone. "If we get assigned to different zones then I'll try and find you both, okay" he said quietly to Gwen and Orah and then it was time for him to head up and collect his map, idly scanning it to see what zone was on it and hoping that he wasn't being assigned somewhere like the lake - he had not fun memories about the lake here.

While Orah was glad that her team was here, she was not at all adverse to have people join them. Even though the host warned them there was only one prize to be won, there was strength in numbers, right? And this girl, at least, would be just as happy to see one of her friends win...
Except that those plans were dashed as their host announced they were each getting a map with a random starting spot. A cold chill swept up her spine and Orah shivered, drooping again. She suddenly felt rather alone and forlorn in her glittery fairy costume. How ridiculous... dressed like this out in the middle of the woods. Thank god she'd gone practical and chosen flats for this, rather than the sparkly silver heels she'd thought about.
Giving her team a worried look, the teen bit her lip and shuffled up to draw her map, unfolding it as she made her way back towards her friends.
"I got area number one, the lake." She said as she studied the map, wondering about the areas that were marked out.

He didn't like this. He didn't like this at all! Scott didn't like how their happy little group was being broken down, and his bracelet began to flash rapidly, despite all of his efforts to contain himself. He looked towards Isha and the others, but what choice did he have?
He pulled his map number and wore a disheartened look, waving it for others to see as he looked for a partner. "Going to the Rec Room... please tell me someone else has the Rec Room?"

Lexi had taken on the bracelet without a second though as she watched the others accept theirs in an almost calm demeanor…what were up with these people! She had no idea where she was; it was dark, she was surrounded by strangers and now had a bracelet on her that was bleeped madly back a her! SHE WAS FREAKED OUT!!
And now this! Trembling, although trying her best to hide the shakes, she took a map opening it up to reveal the lake, her now chosen destination. Was it a bad time to say she was starting to s**t it a little? Prideful yes but Lexi could defiantly get scared with the best of them.
“Uhh…heh, the Lake….woooo…anyone else got the lake? Please,please.please be big and strong!”

Just as Delilah was about to respond to Dani with a smile and a welcome, she was caught off guard by the new twist. Surprised? Not really. She was more impressed that he had let them go on thinking they could have some control with this when honestly, he had it all planned out.
As she looked back at the other four people, Delilah gave a 'nevermind' shrug. "Sorry to bother you all then. Best of luck?" Giving one more look towards Dani, she gave the girl a reassuring smile.
Crossing over towards the maps she reached in a picked one before glancing around to figure out where she was going.

Ruthie nodded at Mathias. He seemed knowing and flexible and strong. He could balance out her broken arm and flimsiness. She would have to ask about that girlfriend later, wonder if he upheld his vow to do anything for her. His promises reminded her of the devoted, passionate lyrics of teenage, grunge bands and how she listened to them in high school, looping them over and over, hoping that someday she would experience an impassioned affair of true love as well.
But then, the coordinator assigned them off to random zones, so no Mathias today. She frowned and said, "It's okay! I'm sure we'll bump into each other soon. Then we can maybe pair up or something from there," She smiled and zipped forward to grab her map, then proceeded to Zone 5.

Dang.. It's a shame, really, that he couldn't be with the people he said he would protect.. But no worries, no worries at all! In then end, there could be only one, right? Not that he really wanted to win that much. There was no real reason to try so hard, especially since he didn't like being all that competitive. But maybe he could help one of his friends win! That would be so exciting, to maybe see Scott or Arian come out on top!
For now, he took off his claw again, reaching into the pocket he had sewn onto the side of the costume inconspicuously, and handed the man his cellphone, grabbing a map instead.
Dang.. He had gotten the cabins as his zone.. Freaking spooky, so many places to hide, a murder could be anywhere! Atleast the fear and nervousness couldn't show though his lobster head. No point in standing around here, then! It was time to work!
