A figure appeared. The Killing Moon went still, barely daring to breathe as the form took shape. All glowing eyes and a wide mouth ready to swallow him whole. The usually confident and fearless buck gave a whine of terror and turned, stumbling painfully before galloping away, as far away as he could get. When eh saw the group ahead, at first he felt a rush of relief and he moved towards it, seeking comfort after his scare. But as they moved through the mist, with strangely elongated limbs and low laughs that echoed to him, he balked. The buck turned away before they noticed him. Killing Moon stopped in his tracks to listen as a low chanting filled his ears. He had to strain to caught the low, rumbling words. "Am I my brother's keeper?" A foal appeared. It seemed familiar and yet he could not place the youngster with a name. He couldn't find words to speak and so simply followed it until the earth rose to drag it down again. The Killing Moon stood, his heart beating his chest, barely able to breath as he repeated the last word the apparition had given him. "You." The figures appeared again, mocking him through the fog. At first he hurried forward, ready to take out his anger on them, but then he rethought his action as he grew closer, quickly turning away with a hiss of rage. Eyes in the darkness. He followed, racing after them, but when it finally seemed as though he would reach them, they disappeared. The malicious figures reappeared. The Killing Moon paced back and forth, trying to decide what to do. But eventually chose another direction and let them be, soon finding himself out of the fog and into a quiet clearing. Finally.Now he could discover the truth. When they attacked him, he rejoiced. This was his chance for vengeance. This was a chance to sate his rage. He met the first dark-hearted kin with a bellow. The rest of the cultist fled as the first one collapsed, blood oozing from the wound in his head. The Killing Moon stood with chest heaving and hair in disarray… and slowly began to laugh. It had been him. Why? He didn't know. But he had done it and he would have to punish himself. He would kill himself for his own sin. He laughed and laughed in growing madness until he woke up suddenly to the bright dawn. It would days for him to recover after the nightmare and he would speak of it to no-one.
