"A sea cloud?" Aulii said, not used to hearing that sort of term. The male looked at her extended arm, it wasn't bloody as if she had been bitten, but it was red... and it looked sort of puffed up. "What did the cloud look like?" It seemed like a silly question, because clouds were generically... 'cloud' shaped. But he had no idea what a sea cloud was. "I think you'll be ok... it just might hurt for a while." That was the best he could offer her without knowing what it was. As long as the redness didn't spread she should be ok right? He would just need to keep an eye on her. "Maybe you should lay down for a bit."

He didn't understand her terminology...great. She bit her lower lip, trying to think about it. "It was...softish to touch...and sort of clear...and...it floated." Her eyes flicked back towards the ocean, plainly embarrassed. "There's a whole storm of them. Dozens." The female brought her arm back to her chest as she sat down, her jaw tightening as the pain continued.

"Hmm..." Aulii listened to her description, but it still wasn't ringing any bells for anything he knew. She looked like she was in some nasty pain. "I know this sounds bad because of what happened... but you might feel better if you at least put your arm back in the water. The cold and salt and stuff. You don't have to go in, just put your arm in the water." Aulii looked somewhat helpless. Without seeing what it was for himself he just didn't know what else to tell her. He did think she would be ok eventually... it just might delay them getting off the island as soon as he had hoped.

Maybe she was going to die after all, since he hadn't a clue what sort of creature bit her. Still, he knew more of the sea than her and she'd follow his advice no matter how bizarre it seemed. "I'm sorry." The demonic spoke softly as she slowly got to her feet to walk towards the shoreline again and douse her injured arm.

"You don't need to be sorry..." Aulii said sincerely as he followed her to the shoreline. For now, getting off the island was going to have to wait. He couldn't blame her for what happened though. "Did you find some food and water that I could bring you?" Wondering if he should resume her search in order to find stuff for the here and now.

As she splashed the water on to her arm, it really did seem to soothe the burn. If only just a little. She looked up at his question, a red spreading on her face again. "N...no...I'm sorry." Zana repeated while turning her focus back on the water. "I was trying to fish when I was attacked. I didn't get the chance to catch anything." Stupid sea clouds, it was one thing to make her look useless, but more importantly it was stopping their progress. A thought popped into her mind. "...With those sea clouds...can we use surfboards?" Her knowledge of surfing started and ended with watching others, and they always began with laying on the board and moving their arms in the water beneath them. Which meant they would...into sea cloud infested water.

Clearly telling the fem she didn't need to be sorry wasn't going to work. "It will be okay." he decided that would maybe be more effective. Aulii moved so that he was sitting next to her in the sand while she tried to rest her arm. He was going to need to get up and find some new food soon apparently. As Zana mentioned the sea clouds keeping them from surfing, Aulii lifted his head. "I'll have to think about it." He admitted, his mind now filling with doubt. It was possible that they could just bring up all their limbs and float over the clouds with the current... but who knew how far off course that would get them.

It was nice of him to comfort her even though she had stupidly hindered their survival. He seemed like a nice guy...except for the hiccup when they first met. "...Thank you." She spoke while focusing on her arm. Little by little, the salt water neutralized the pain. He had been right to dip it in. "Maybe...maybe they'll have gone away by the time we're done. I didn't get bitten on my way in this morning so I don't think they were here earlier."

"Maybe..." Aulii said thoughtfully. Maybe the current would have this strange cloud far away from them by the time they got in the water, after all it was going to take them a lot longer to get in the water now. "Hey... I need to start finding us some food, at least for tonight. Hang tight alright." Aulii stood up and with that, headed inland. For now, finding food in the water was too much of a risk, but maybe he'd find some fruit or something. It was several hours before Aulii returned with some mangoes for them.

Zana nodded as she opened her mouth to apologize once more. "Alright." The demonic changed her mind at the last moment.
Maybe apologizing three times in a span of ten minutes was a little too much.
So instead she settled on a tiny wave. "I'll be here." Not like she had too much of a choice with her arm. She continued to gently apply the salt water to it as the minutes slowly turned into an hour. By that time the stinging had subsided almost completely, only tender to the touch. Auilli still hadn't returned however and she didn't want to be gone when he came back. Couldn't cause the male even more trouble. So she walked a little more inland to pluck as much beach grass as she could carry before walking back to her spot. A few feet above the shoreline though of course as she didn't need the salt water anymore.
There she sat and started to weave her grass into a basket. They would need something to carry the food and water when they left the island. As she worked though, the female softly sang.
Who dances in the moonlight? I do, I do. Who comes when the time is right? I do-o-o-oooo.
Softly swaying, always saying what is new today? Never thinking, never going that's not okay!
Who dances in the moonlight? I do, I do. Who comes when the time is right? I do-o-o-oooo.
Mooooooonlight. Tooooooonight. Come out and play. Today.
Oh won't you come play...with...me.

Aulii could hear the soft singing as he came closer to the beach where he had left the female. He could see she had left the water, that must have meant she was feeling better. Aulii could only hope. The music was kind of nice, peaceful. "You make that up?" Aulii asked her as he dropped his armful of mangoes into the sand next to her. A few of them rolled away, though not very far. "What are you making?" He tilted his head as he sat down next to Zana and offered her a mango.

As the last words left her lips she finished her first basket. She reached for more grass to start the second basket. The female froze with her fingers just over the pile.
He. Heard. Her.
A wave of red crept onto her face as she reached up to touch her lily for comfort. Slowly she moved her head to look at the male. "Y-yes." Zana barely even registered the mangoes rolling around, too engrossed in being caught off guard. She hadn't heard him approach over the sound of her own voice.
The question. He had asked another question. "B-basket." She stuttered out, eyes flashing back down to her hands. The female quickly picked up the first basket to show him. It was a large thing, about half a pae's body, with woven arm holes to carry it like a back sack. "To carry supplies in when we go."

Aulii wondered if she was going to be like this the whole time. It would make for a very, very long trip home, if that was the case. Maybe she'd settle down eventually. He couldn't even tell what she said to answer him her voice was more a squeak at the moment then anything, he had to read her lips. "I liked it." Maybe complementing would build up her confidence? It wasn't a lie anyways. "That's a good idea." More complements. Especially with him finding a rolly fruity like mangoes, it wasn't going to stay on the surfboard without some babysitting, the baskets would be perfect. "I found a good spot to get mangoes. It's a bit inland, that's why it took so long." The size of the baskets... they looked like they could hold more than his arms would.

The female blinked at the compliments, the blush deepening further. "Oh. Thank you." The demonic set down the basket to pick up the loose strands of grass. Time for the second one. "Good. Good job." She said rather awkwardly, wanting to compliment him back. This was the longest she had been around non-family since...that time. Shadow. It seemed she was going to be around him for much longer too, so maybe...maybe she should try a little harder.
Zana took a deep breath as she worked. Focusing on the task instead of the male would make it easier to talk. "Do you...have any family waiting for you?"Wolfs Heart Compliments always work XDDD

Aulii had thought his complements had failed when he saw her blushing. He should have known that would make things worse with how shy she was. How to get a shy pae to calm down.... nope, nothing. Well... it had actually seemed like she was trying to talk to him now. That was a start. "You should have one of these." He said, noticing she was going back to work instead of stopping to eat one. "Family? Yes. Waiting for me? Probably not." Aulii laughed, his cousin Diona was always too wrapped up in her own world now. They used to have fun when they were kids though. "Your arm feeling better?"
