Sasha reached out to take the pendant and chain, brow furrowed.
"No."
She pursed her lips and made a low sound of disappointment.
"We'll keep it. Check the room for anything else out of the ordinary. I don't want to linger."
Tightening her fingers around the pendant, Sasha gave the rabbit a cursory glance before peering down around the necklace once more.

"I uh... have some sandwich bags in my pack... maybe we should put it in one just in case?" Not that thin plastic would do much against a cursed item if that's what they were up against. But it could help, one never knew.
Sasha glanced at Jerry before gesturing with her hand. She supposed there was no harm in his suggestion. It was frustrating, really, feeling that huge surge of hope that the necklace might have been Nona.
As she waited for the plastic bag, Sasha turned her attention to Wash.
"Is there anything else strange about the corpse?"

Wash turned over the rabbit gingerly, inspecting it's wounds.
"Well, pretty strange that it was half-strangled in someone's costume jew'lry," he commented.

The Rabbit
Plump with luxuriously soft fur, the rabbit was likely someone's pet at one point.
The Kitchen
Foot prints and slide marks across the dusty floor show that someone has moved about here recently. The pantry is well stocked with canned and pickled goods.
The Bedroom
Plain but cozy. Several things are out of place, and there's squares of brighter colour on the walls that indicate pictures have been removed.
The Cellar
Firmly locked with a sturdy door.
The Outhouse
Kept and functional.

After taking quick inventory of the small kitchen, Sasha worried her lower lip between her teeth.
"If anyone shows up while we're here," Sasha's voice was low and urgent, "I'll do the talking."
She moved into the bedroom and glanced around. It was cozy, certainly, but Sasha's nerves felt frayed. The fact that the cottage looked recently inhabited didn't set well with her considering the fact that the only living person she'd come into contact with during her initial visit was... well.
Dead.
"There's missing pictures in here." Her voice was low but carried to the others. Sasha moved around the small room, looking for anything that seemed ... off.
"There's a door in here, I think it leads t' the basement, but it's locked tight," Wash called back.
He winced, rubbing his shoulder.
"Won't budge."

Dylon had mixed feeling toward the rabbit; pity and 'ew that's gross' sorts of feelings. The trainee followed after the others, taking everything in as they did.
"It's a lot nicer in here than I expected." He said idly, looking around the place as the others did their thing. Locked basement, missing pictures, slightly lived in, near dead rabbit (dead now), odd necklace. Yeah this all seemed like the beginning of a horror movie.
So Dylon started to think of what trope matched which team member... virgin.. jock... brains... It was difficult to decide by looks alone.
"So does the rule of "don't go off by yourself, stay with the group" rule apply in real life too?" Horror movie rules, you see.
Everyone was milling about but so far things seemed quiet. This was good. As the various rooms were explored, he drifted his way toward the kitchen. Scotland meant good whiskey, right? No one would notice if he took a little peek?
What he did notice, though, where the footprints in the dust. "Hey, has anyone checked out the kitchen yet?" He called in. He didn't remember anyone drifting over here, but... well, it was probably good to stop before he mussed the evidence up further. He could rummage later.

"I think it's safe to say this place has been occupied rather recently, and I only briefly looked in the kitchen," Sasha called softly from the bedroom where she was opening and closing drawers. Alone in the room, she glanced once more at the pendant in her hand, frowning slightly at it.
"That rule applies, yes," Sasha responded to Dylon's question as she further investigated the necklace. "Unless ordered otherwise, everyone is to stay together."
She was silent for a moment.
"I really don't know who could be living here. If we find nothing interesting, we take our supplies and move on."
"There's some um. Footprints here! They don't look like your shoes I don't think..." He called in as an afterthought. Maybe they were just her shoes. Or they could be a clue of some sort.
Or whoever was torturing rabbits was hiding in one of the closets.
He debated if he should hunt or not.
Carefully, he kicked open one of the cabinets, and was mildly disappointed when all he spotted were cans of beans.

There was a sudden thunk from the kitchen cabinet as the wooden backing dropped, revealing a small, dark passage.
As he pulled out the can, he blinked as the back of the cabinet dropped away. "Oh! Er... hey ah... Sasha? Sasha you better come look at this!"

Sasha moved quickly from the bedroom to the kitchen, following the sound of Jerry's voice. She paused at the sight of the small passage, and paused to rummage around in her bag for a small flashlight. Holding it with one hand, she cleared the canned and jarred goods out of the way before kneeling. With everything cleared out of the way, she could at least see more of the passageway.
