When the bird swooped down to claw at him, he swung hard, smashing it right against a wall.

Harrison polished it off with his boot, and drew a key from the remains.

This appeared to be the performing arts floor. Kind of like school, though once Jordan had made that comparison he wasn't quite sure how it applied. Still, the gargoyle seemed to expect him to dance.
He wasn't very good at dancing; there'd been lessons at one point, but he'd felt clumsy and weird, and hadn't continued. When the music started though, something in his mind seemed to be wordlessly urging him on, encouraging him into a slow and dancelike series of moves that felt both familiar and incomplete. He moved through the sequence, letting his body move through the pattern the way it had apparently done before.
When he was done the gargoyle startled him out of an almost meditative mental state by smacking his a** and slipping a key into his pocket. Slightly unnerved, he slipped out of the room.

A wall of fog greeted him when he opened the next door, and Jordan brought his weapon to hand without thinking about it. That was a good thing, because what swooped out at him was definitely not friendly.

The bird seemed more angry than intelligent. Its claws stung, but it was leaving itself open to attack.

As it dived at him again, Jordan brought the blade down on it, and it dissolved into fog. A key fell out of the mist and bounced to a stop at Jordan's feet.
