Chalcedony post 10

Chalcedony stood at the foot of the ladder, his back against the trunk of the tree, his flickering from side to side. His arms were currently full, one baby in each of them, both of them starring at him at the moment, and he knew there was nothing he could do at the moment to defend himself. As such it was best that he keep his eyes open and his wits about him, if something sprung up then he would call Jacinthus for aid. As much as he didn't want to have to do that he would throw away his pride and do just that if it meant protecting the boys.

Luckily it seemed as though nothing was coming after them... at least not yet. He could hear distant howls, but nothing had invaded the village yet. Luckily for everyone involved there were more people, more guards, then just the archer. As such there was more in the way of protection. Regardless though he didn't know any of them and he had no idea if any of them knew what was going on over here. He couldn't rely on them, though he would hope the beasts in the are knew of them and would be more hesitant in their approach giving the group the chance they needed to get up the tree.

Keilana

The young woman basically used her brother as a crutch, and when they got the the base of the ladder she look up and groaned. Why couldn't she be up there already? Giving a slight whimper she dragged her hands to the ladder and then finally lifted one foot.

It felt like it took her much longer than it actually did to get up and into their home. Once there she couldn't help but collaspe to the ground, noticing the sleeping Monk with envy before she set her priorities straight the boys needed to be safe first.

"Do you think you could hand them up to me? I don't want you risking trying to climb with you arms full." She called down.

Jacinthus post 14

Jacinthus looked down over the edge of the ladder to where Chalcedony was standing before snapping his fingers, hurrying over to where some of the various stuff that he had and his sister had gathered was sitting. He dug around for a time before he found what he was looking for, that being a large basket, ususally used for bringing food home in and some rope and he walked over to the edge, "Perfect, right? I think it will be the safest way to get them up and down until we make you one of those baby back pack things I've seen some of the other village women with."

He sat down on the edge of the tree house, tying the rope securely around the basket handle, and lowered it down, "One at a time, shield-boy. I will reel them in and hand them off to Keilana." He said, waiting for the other guy to place the first of the boys in the basket before he slowly pulled him up. Luckily the kid weighed a lot less then what was normally in there so hauling him up was a lot easier then he'd expected him to be.

The green eyed baby was scooped out of the basket and handed off to Keilana before the basket was lowered once more for the other boy, "Will you be alright up here alone for a time? I was thinking about setting your... friend to work cleaning up with me if you are." He said to his sister. Help would be nice, it would allow him to rest sooner then later after all.

Chalcedony post 11

Chalcedony starred at the basket for a long moment as Jacinthus gave him the run down of what it was that he should be doing. He looked up at the archer, giving him a long look, then eased Chandra down into the basket, "It will be alright, little one, your uncle won't let you fall. Your mother will likely kill him otherwise." He murmured, watching as his was reeled in like a bit fish, taking out of the basket, and handed off to his mother before the basket was dropped back down again. He put Aysun in it and then watched him go up too, sighing in relief when he too made it up safely, "Phew."

He was about to follow after his boys when Jacinthus was suddenly asking if Chal could help with the clean up. He blinked a couple times then sigh, wanting to ask if he was Keilana's pet now... but decided to stay silent. He didn't want to start arguments now, not when everyone was sleepy. Once everyone was rested up they could return to such arguing he thought to himself with a bit of a smile.

Keilana

She immediately wanted to protest. That was far too dangerous but...to be fair right now she wasn't currently in her right mind. Too tired to think straight she fumbeled a bit and then sat down and nodded her head, okay sure...she knew that Jacinthus wouldn't let any harm come to her boys....but sh still couldn't let her new mommy paranoia take over her.

"Be...careful.." She managed before she merely sat, waiting to see if her babies would make it up into the tree. She was so tired and yet so awake...her body protested at moving though and she could only sit there. Waiting.

Jacinthus post 15

Once both of the boys were up he set the basket down, looking it over, before he said, "Maybe we aught to get you a second one of these? They seem to be about the right size for the boys to sleep in." He suggested, wondering if he would be able to find another basket for his sister tonight. It shouldn't be too hard he didn't think but he would see how he was feeling after the clean up. If he was too sleepy after that then he would save the finding a basket for after he got some rest.

"Alright, you rest all should rest up." He said, giving his sister and her boys, "I will be up in a while." He found himself wondering what he should do about Chalcedony. A part of him wanted to chase him off, tell him to go back to Jauhar, but he somehow doubted that would go over well with Keilana. Best that he try to put up with the guy and keep Keilana happy until she was feeling better.

Jacin made his way down, feet touching down, before he took in the look of the area around them, "Time to get to cleaning." He said, giving Chalcedony a look before moving to gather up the various blankets.

Chalcedony post 12

Chalcedony looked up at Keilana for a moment, a part of him wanting to climb up there to help where he could... but since he seemed to have been relegated to clean up duty by her idiot brother he set to work doing that. Well, the sooner they got this done the better he supposed. At least once everything was done then it would be significantly safer.

"I will set up a fire for us to see by." He said to the archer, moving to do just that. The fire would help them to see as well as help to ward off any unwanted beasts that might be would there. There was also the added bonus that is there was anything that needed burned they would have the fire on hand. As soon as it was up and going, spreading light across the area, Chal moved to help out with the other cleaning up that was needed. It felt a little strange working side by side with someone that he had often in the past wanted to strangle... It was just something he had to deal with though given he was the uncle to his sons. He was sure it would make things quite awkward from here on out when he came to visit now that everyone knew he was the father.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 09, 2013 10:46 pm

Once the babies were safe Keilana gathered them up close to her and then moved towards the center of the house. She gathered what she could...awkwardly as she was able to make a sort of nest for herself and her kids before she settled down.

Asyun began to cry pretty much once she stopped moving and thus she went to feed him again. Whilst Chandra was placed in the basket closer by with blankets around him to keep him warm while he still slept. The poor woman was so tired she nearly nodded off several times while feeding Asyun. Once he was quieted she couldn't quite bring herself to sleep even though her body craved it so badly.

How could she sleep? Would her babies be okay while she slept? She knew Takoda was close by though he seemed dead to the world...so she struggeled at trying to stay awake until her brother and the father of her boys came back.

Jacinthus post 16

If nothing else the mess hadn't been one that was too hard to deal with, the blankets were easy enough to get washed up and then hung up, put somewhere that the various animals of Tale wouldn't be able to get at them save for the flying sort perhaps. From there he'd picked up everything else that needed to be dealt with, either cleaning it or taking Chalcedony's lead and tossing it into the flames. While he'd never admit to it the idea was actually a fairly decent one, wasn't it?

Once he was done he looked around the area, taking in all the work that he'd done with the help of the other man, something he wouldn't thank him for, then said, "Alright, now that we have that done we are going to take a quick walk." He told the shield barer, not giving him much of a choice in the matter it seemed as he turned on his heel and started along toward a destination that only he knew. He figured that the other guy would follow him, he was probably too exhausted not to follow Jacin's orders, and that was something that pleased the archer to a degree. So long as the guy didn't whine to Takoda or Keilana about Jacin bossing him around later.

Chalcedony post 13

Chalcedony glanced up toward the tree house where his sons and their mother were resting before giving a bit of a sigh, turning to follow along after Jacinthus, wondering exactly what it was that the guy was up to. He actually half expected that the man was leading him off to the edge of the village, figuring that he would be told to get lost once they reached their destination. It would be something that he'd fight him on, not as though it wouldn't be the first time they'd fought, but he would try harder this time around. Last time he let Jacin have his own way, didn't fight hard enough, and this time around he wouldn't let that happen! Aysun and Chandra were his sons, damn it, and no idiot Leaf Tribesman was going to change that!

Of course just as he was starting to get all riled up and ready for a coming battle... he realized that they weren't heading toward the edge of the village, they were actually heading into it instead. Well, he supposed that it was unlikely that he was planning to banish him in the center of the village so he couldn't help but to wonder what it was that the guy was up to, "So... where is it that we are going, archer?" He asked of him finally, not trusting the guy nearly enough to just follow behind him complacently. Were it Keilana or Takoda leading the way then maybe, but definitely not this guy. He trusted him about as far as he could throw him... and he doubted that it would be all that far.

The idea of throwing him though, preferably out of a tree, was a nice one though. An idea he'd keep to himself, wanting to keep the peace for at least tonight if at all possible.

Jacinthus post 17

There was a moment where Jacinthus debated just ignoring the other guy's question, not really enjoying spending time with him or talking to him but he also didn't want to leave him alone back there. He had no idea what he might do or say to those up in the tree house and he would much rather keep a close eye on him instead of leaving him up to his own devices. Finally he turned to give him a glance and said, "We are going to go and get another basket. They seem to be about the right size to fit my nephews in so it would be a good place for them to sleep." Not to mention it would make it easier to move them from place to place as well until they were able to get a special made carrying pack for the boys. Keilana having two of them really did make it so she needed double of everything, huh?

"Don't think that I will get every last thing for them though, you are their father as much as I loathe the idea of it, and you can damn well help in that regard." He said after a moment, his eyes narrowing slightly, "As much as I would love to kick your a** out of this village and back to Jauhar I somehow doubt that you will stay there. Every time I turn around you are there messing with something of mine and I am starting to think I will never get rid of you." Most likely the idiot would be sticking around now that the twins were born, leaving Jacinthus ever stuck starring at his dull face.

Chalcedony post 14

Chalcedony was instantly bristling at Jacinthus's words, teeth gritting slightly, "Don't think that I need so much help from you. I will damn well be taking care of my sons and helping to provide what they need." He hissed at the archer, keeping his voice quiet, not wanting to bother anyone else in the village that might be sleeping or trying to sleep at the moment. The desire to punch the guy in his face though, it was an overwhelming feeling that forced him to clasp his hands behind his back to refrain from doing so. It wouldn't look good if he were to punch the guy after all, not when Jacin was claiming to be helping, even if his help came with such snide comments.

"As for getting rid of me, no, you aren't so lucky and neither am I. Do you think I want to spend my time looking at you? You are the very last person that I want to be around but given that you are their uncle I am stuck with you." More was the pity, he'd rather deal with a Menzuri then with this idiot. The painful fact remained though that this idiot was their uncle and he would be stuck with him for some time to come... Ugh, this was going to be the most awkward and dysfunctional family ever, especially given Takoda's role in all of it. Something that he was trying not to think about though, wanting to instead focus on his sons instead of the Healer.

Jacinthus post 18

Jacinthus was feeling the same desire to deck Chalcedony that the shield barer was feeling toward the archer, desires that neither of them could really act on at the moment though. There were more important things that they had to be doing at the moment, the most important of which was fetching the basket. The moment they had that they could go back to the tree house, climb up into it, curl up, and go to sleep. How he wanted nothing more then to do just that he thought to himself, stifling a yawn before he came to halt, motioning to the man who was walking alongside him, "Stay." He said before he headed up into another tree house, looking at the woman who was sitting on a mat on the floor, weaving.

"Good evening." He greeted her before moving over to kneel before her, telling the older Leaf Tribeswoman about the situation on hand, that being the sudden birth of is nephews, then asked her about the baskets that she made for those in the village. There was a bit of quick barter, Jacinthus finding himself owing the woman a aldabuk skin, before she was fetching him a basket of roughly the same size and shape of the one that he had back home. A bit more chatting later and he was descending the ladder to join the man who was still waiting on him. If nothing else at least it would appear as though he were good at following orders he thought to himself.

Waving at him he said, "Let's get going, I got the basket and we will finally be able to get everyone tucked in." Ugh, did he just say 'we'? That wasn't what he meant at all! He didn't want this idiot's help! He would do just fine on his own! Of course the help would be useful in the future but that didn't mean he wanted to acknowledge that now.

Chalcedony post 15

Chalcedony leaned against the base of the tree, finding it to be a feeling that he knew well as this wasn't the first time he'd been left behind by Jacinthus, and he fell silent as he waited. Tilting his head to one side he did his best to try to overhear what it was that was being said above him, he caught bits and pieces, enough to get the general gist of what it was that the guy was doing. At least he hadn't dragged Chalcedony into it in any rude capacity which was a nice change of pace. The fact that the guy was actually going to hunt down an aldabuk for the woman to get the basket, the basket that would be a bed for one of his sons, was something he was grateful for. At the same time the idea of thanking the guy was grating so perhaps he'd pretend that he hadn't heard what was going on.

When Jacinthus mentioned getting everyone tucked in he could only nod, wanting nothing more then to sleep for a day or so himself... though he knew it would never happen. If the babies didn't wake him up, something he knew them to do quite often, he knew he'd be up with the sun. He was so used to getting up early so that he could help his mother out with taking care of his siblings so there was no way he could sleep in even if he wanted to, "Sounds good, I think sleep will do everyone a lot of good." He said finally, doing his best not to sound as sleepy as he felt at the moment, the last thing he wanted was to look weak or tired in front of this guy.

Jacinthus post 19

As they arrived at the tree house the archer motioned to Chalcedony and said words that tasted terrible on his tongue, the nice-ish gesture of, "You go up first." He should just climb up first and then maybe kick that one off the ladder as he climbed up... alright no, that was last thing he should do, but it was the first thing he wanted to do. He still owed the guy a punch of two in the face for what he did to Keilana, but for the moment he would be... nice. Even if the thought of being nice to the Shifter was one that made him want to gag a bit.

Hooking the handle of the basket over his arm the archer climbed up the ladder only after Chalcedony did, handing the basket off to him once they were up, "Don't think that this is a peace offering. This isn't that, it's not an invitation to the family, nor is it any sort of come visit whenever you like card. I don't like you, you don't like me, and the only thing I want to give you is a punch in the face... but for the moment you can stay. Once Kei is ready to take care of the boys on her own though you can get out." He told the shield barer, not wanting for him to think for an instant that he was welcome to move in or anything, the house was crowded enough as it was, especially with the arrival of the twins, and Jacin just didn't like Chalcedony so why would he want to live with him?
